The room could have been cleaner as there were pieces of old chips from previous guests in the cupboard where the mini fridge is located. More than anything though the noise was too much. Rm549 there was always people coming and going, doors slamming/banging. There also seemed to have been some construction going on. The location was a good one.

The Hotel La Scaletta is the ideal base for a visit to Florence. Only 2 minutes to the Ponte Vecchio in one direction and two minutes to the Pitti Palace and Boboli Gardens in the other. All the main attractions such as the Uffizi Gallery, Duomo and Baptistry are just a few walk minutes away.
Florence is crazy busy but once you step in through the ancient archway to the hotel reception it is an oasis of calm. For our first few night we had a Garden Double Room set in a quiet courtyard and lovely garden. It was so peaceful and yet the hustle and bustle of the Ponte Vecchio was only a few metres away. We returned a few days later after a wedding and found we had been upgraded to a Superior Room on one of the upper floors. The room was delightful with a huge bed and lovely bathroom.
Breakfast was good. Buffet-style with the option to eat on the rooftop terrace with amazing panoramic views of Florence.
Florence is a really walkable city and there are loads of places to eat, grab a panini or a gelato within a few steps of the hotel. Taxis from Santa Maria Novella Station are plentiful but ranged in price from15 to 30 euros.
**Word of warning!** If you use the tram to travel into the city from Florence Airport be on your guard for pickpockets! They target people stressing with suitcases getting onto the trams. They nearly got my husband's wallet!

Very good location and easy to get to. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Roof top is great for sunset. Could use a bit more storage like cabinets and the bathroom was very tight (although shower was huge and jetted tub was perfect size). Also we can hear footsteps above us but those are just small things and definitely not a deal breaker. Tall ceilings, and had a mix of modern and vintage feel. Breakfast was simple but delicious. Would definitely come back again. Thank you.

Easy to walk to all the attractions but a bit of a bumpy walk to/from the station with a wheels case (cobbles everywhere) so maybe consider the bus or taxi. Quirky layout of hotel so maybe not for people with mobility issues. Plenty of places to eat nearby. Would definitely stay there again.

The room was very clean and very nice. The building was not handicap accessible and it was an older building, so it was problematic. The biggest problem was the customer service, which was mediocre at best. Even though the hotel room was very nice, I would not recommend this place as I found the staff to be rude and dismissive.

The luxury room we booked was nice but you have to walk up stairs no elevator for that type of room so I had to switch rooms outside same floor. Wasn’t a fan of that. And had a really bad ant problem where everyday I come back to my room in Florence they sprayed bug spray and it lingered all day and night everyday for 5 days. Room was big for the family. But I wound not come back here.

Average experience for a great location
The hotel is in a great location. They charged us a cash only 7 euro per person per night tourist fee. When we went to our 2nd hotel we were told the tourist fee is only 6 euro per person per night and is payable by cash or charge. The room had an \"odd odor\" almost like cat urine and while the ground floor was nice due to the stairs and the heat, the cleaning staff did not seem to care about guests who were staying close to their cleaning closet as they were slamming doors and supplies around at 0700. The room was extremely comfortable and the washrooms were well kept. Overall an average experience for a great location.

Although the lobby is gorgeous, it’s very confusing trying to find your room. There are staircases with very little instruction as to which way to go. The air conditioning in our room did not work the first night and it had been in the 90s during the day. It took them until 5 o’clock to fix the air conditioning the next day. Unfortunately, the other member of my party had been sick in bed all day sweltering.

This is a beautiful small-ish hotel just below the Ponte Vecchio. Our room was very comfortable, with everything we could need for our extended stay. (Caveat for those with mobility issues: there are lots of stone steps inside and the elevator seems to stop only between floors, so stairs are inevitable.) From the hotel entrance, it is easy to walk to all the main tourist sites or enjoy a quiet stroll around the Oltrano. Try the gellateria on the hotel's first floor - exceptional!

This is a good, if quirky hotel, but we enjoyed our stay here. We were in a garden facing (Superior) room, and the revelation of this location for us was that it was so quiet. Florence is a very busy city, and can feel a bit overwhelming, but once into the hotel, all the noise and hubbub of the city disappears and all you hear is the bird song.

We’ve stayed at Hotel La Scaletta Al Ponte Vecchio during late February. We were expecting a double standard room with garden for which the photos displayed beautiful interiors and furniture.
However, we were utterly disappointed with the room which is complete opposite of the website images. The room lighting was dimmed, bed was in awkward centre position and there were no garden views outside the window.
I would not advise this stay if one is anticipating their bookings to be presented exactly what’s shown on the page.

It’s the best location for eating, drinking, shopping and seeing the history of it all. It’s a boutique style hotel with an awesome rooftop bar and restaurant and view. We had a 24 hour delay back to the US due to weather and the hotel staff accommodated our every need from transportation to other things to do while we spent an extra day there, to include assistance with opening a few bottles of wine for us. Emmanuel was even on the phone with airlines trying to assist us in rebooking our alternative flights back to the US. Can’t wait to stay there again during our next visit and will recommend them to all our friends. Ciao’.

Traveling for 30 days in Europe, the reviews for this hotel are mixed. The hotel is old and in desprit need of a remodel. The check in was ok, the staff is ok. The wifi is not good, the room is tiny , maybe 100 SQ ft. The breakfast is ok but better choices outside. I would not recommend this hotel.

This hotel was incredible. The best room we had in our whole day in Italy. It was so spacious so clean and we absolutely love the tub. The staff was very nice and also suggested a few restaurants. It was very close to a lot of shopping areas. Everything is walkable we also really enjoyed the breakfast buffet. It was very convenient with a lot of options. I feel like the price that we paid for this hotel was very reasonable and I would definitely come back and stay here, clean and quiet. We definitely felt safe here.
