Good location and helpful staff. However the room was below average and was not reflective of the photos online. The room was dark and claustrophobic, smelled of sewage, walls were marked/dirty, baseboards chipped and much of the furniture was scratched/damaged in some way. The room felt more similar to a cruise-ship. This hotel has a lot of potential and was probably nice 15 years ago. Would benefit greatly from being refurbished.

Hotel was very comfortable and accommodating. Staff gave us recommendations for delicious restaurants. Rain shower was relaxing and much needed for cooling down after a hot Italian day of sightseeing. Our breakfast was also included as part of our stay. It was the perfect start to our day. Walking distance to all the major sites we had on our agenda. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Florence.

Excellent Buffett breakfast and location. Near major attraction. Lots of construction on near by was a con. The room was not similar to the pictures on site and when asked to swap we were informed no availability. I got the impression they were trying to fill up the less pleasant rooms. The reception agreed that room provided is not what is on the web for similar room. I am not sure as online it seems a few rooms available for same night.

Beside that the staff were pleasant.

A few minor comments.. Rooms very abit outdated and lacked lighting to do make up.

Also not enough plugs in the Hotel.

Can't wait to return! Stunning Hotel on the Arno

This a a gorgeous hotel on the Arno river. It's a beautiful mix of old and modern with a cute bar in the lobby. LD, our bartender made our stay here with great restaurant suggestions like Ristorante ZAZA! Rooms are spacious and beautiful murals on the ceiling.

I booked a river view and Orbits didn't reserve this room. I had to pay more. Getting out of the shower/bath tub is dangerous. I almost took a fall each time trying to get out.
They should remove the tub and put in a walk in shower. There will be a law suit one of these days. Great location & river view is the up side of this property. We have stayed here on 5 different visits. The breakfast was a disappointment compared to previous visits. I will try to find another hotel in the future.

From the top-notch location (Right at Piazza Tournabuoni and two minute walk to Ponte Vecchio- to the ginormous riverfront prestige ROOM with the 20’ domed fresco painted ceilings—sooo worth it!—we enjoyed all the modern creature comforts AND true Florentine renaissance history right above our heads!

The ultra-friendly and responsive staff and 5 star service went above and beyond! I asked, and the obliged with a Christmas tree in my room-made me cry! Even breakfast in the well appointed dining room was beautifully presented each morning with plenty of choices, and the dining room seating was lovely overlooking the courtyard. Very sexy bar downstairs for a nightcap- They made us feel like Alfieris at home in this repurposed Palazzo…

Christmas and New Year stay in Florence was unforgettable! My ONLY regret? NOT booking longer-10 days was not enough time!

One of the most beautiful places I have stayed, and a great location for going shopping and exploring the city. Right on the canal, it’s pretty tough to beat. My friend and I got a suite and it was plenty of space and amenities.

We have stayed at this hotel before and chose to book again. We enjoyed our stay and the second room we were given was nice.
However a main complaint would be the food at breakfast. The food served as consistently cold, we the eggs very cold every day and the beans. Apart from this is was an enjoyable stay.

Hotel is in a high tourist area, but it’s not bad. Still pretty quiet and comfortable. The air conditioning went out at the hotel one of the days I was there so it was very hot and uncomfortable, especially since it was very hot outside. I would not suggest using the parking that they try to push on you because they do not communicate everything and did not tell me that the parking garage they are contracted with closes from midnight to 7:00am and my rental was stuck in the garage until the car rental company picked it up because they would not open it or let me get the car for my early morning flight. They will tell you that in case of emergency, there isn’t anything they can do and no solution. Use at your own risk.

The stay at Palazzo Alfieri was excellent. The only thing that has stopped me from giving it 5 stars is the fact that the bathrooms seemed to have been designed by tall men for even taller people only.
The towel hooks were almost unreachable and the fixing for the shower head was probably above two metres so no chance of being able to shower without holding the shower head. Which in a hotel of this level and price range is somewhat disappointing. Equally the step into the bathtub/shower was so deep to make it almost unsafe when coming out of the shower. Besides that the room

The property is lovely although the bathrooms are so small there simply is no where to put anything.
Maybe a small thing to some but our kettle didn’t work, we requested 4 times it be changed over 3 days and eventually got it changed but not before we were given excuses, including having to call at reception at 3am to request a new kettle after we had returned from a concert and no one would pick up our calls. All in all a beautiful hotel in a wonderful location but some staff could be spoken to about their communication styles with customers .

Historic building. Great location

Excellent location. This is a historic property, so several areas needed some work. There were a lot of construction workers in my building during weekdays. I imagine it will be nicer once everything gets fixed. My room had several moths, which I had to trap and take out of the room because I'm allergic. Still, the location is excellent and you can walk anywhere in the historic downtown area within minutes. The lobby area is nice and the property feels very safe. It has a nice private entrance and taxis can easily drop/pick you up.

WiFi Does Not Work

Hotel has terrible WiFi connection. Despite staying in a suite room with views of the river and Ponte Vecchio, the WiFi connection is absolutely horrendous. You’ll be kicked off the WiFi every 2 minutes and when you try to reconnect their WiFi won’t even show up. If you need internet access even for minor browsing, let alone work, would recommend not staying at this hotel.

Underwhelming & not worth the money.

For the high price, I’d expect more. One day it rained heavily and our window leaked. The iron was broke upon arrival, and when I called for a replacement it never came. I spoke to the front desk attendant and asked for an iron a second time, it never came. The shower entrance was extremely small, and had to be entered sideways (and I’m skinny). There was water damage on the roof of the 3rd floor, peeling away and the floors need a deep clean. Overall this is not a 4 star hotel, 2.5 stars at most. You pay for the location. I heard other guests complaining about the shower too and the staff is dismissive and justified their poor accommodations vs fixing it. Will not be staying here again.

Great service!!! From when we dropped off our car with the private hotel valet to when we began our check in process.

Amenities were lacking, we didn’t have an iron in our room, lighting was super poor. The location was phenomenal and good for rest. My husband and I got married on Saturday at Santi Apostoli which was a 5 minute walk. However the price point felt like a lot for the state of the room we were in.
