Great restaurant and shopping options nearby. Friendly, helpful staff. Note that the building is multi function, you need to buzz the doorbell for the front desk. Its imanned from 8am to 7pm so if you're arriving later need to make arrangements. We noticed a couple waiting outside after 7. When we're returned later that night they were being checked in.

We visited 4 cities on this trip and our room in Florence was the biggest, with a roomy bathroom. The room was modern and clean and located on the 3rd floor. There is an elevator in the building, but we did not use the elevator, preferring to use the stairs instead.
We walked from and to the train station. This is definitely doable as the route is pretty flat. Depending on the time of day, you may have to dodge the crowd, or you can have the staff arrange for transport.

The Salterelli is all about the great location. Speaking of location, it can be hard to find at first. But wow, half an alley from the plaza, and a block from the river. Simona at the front desk was super helpful. She gave us all kinds of good restaurant recommendations. The rooms are small but cute and have all the amenities. The coffee machine is a bonus. In our room right next to the reception we had a big window looking out into the courtyard. We ate at some of the nearby restaurants, including Buca Poldo, which is underground and delicious. We also had pizza and drinks in the Plaza Duoma, which is big, and like a museum with all of the statues. We al walked up and down and all around the Arnos River, which is a few steps away.

This property is in the perfect location in the center of Florence, with virtually all of the main attractions within easy walking distance. The area is safe with lots of foot traffic all day, but is not at all noisy. There are few steps (maybe 5) to access the elevator, which is ancient but works very well) The beds in the suite were comfortable and located in different rooms, which provided a measure of privacy. The rooms included several bottles of water (regular and sparkling) and sodas in the refrigerator, which were replenished daily when the room was cleaned (along with coffee and tea).
Simona was a wonderful host before and after we arrived. Other staff (Margherita and Juliet) were also very helpful. We would most definitely staff here again!

Disappointed in accommodations. The bed was so uncomfortable we left after the first night-scheduled 2 rooms for 3 nights. The rooms did not look like the advertised pictures. Also advertised down comforter, was a sheet and blanket as thin as a sheet. Toilet was very close to the sink as having to slide under it to sit. Wifi was extremely slow. A lot of noise from upstairs. The price did not match the quality of accommodations- and we had two separate rooms. The positives were the gentleman who checked us in was very nice and the location is great but unfortunately we lost a lot of money on this stay as we could not stay past the one night due to the amount of discomfort.

The location of this hotel is perfect and a 5-15 minute walk to everything we wanted to visit in Florence. Check in was easy and the clerk went above and beyond to orient us to the area by reviewing a map and pointing out restaurants and cafes that are affordable hidden gems in the area. Her customer services was exemplary and much appreciated. The rooms are charming, clean and well equipped with modern amenities. We loved very aspect of our stay in this lovely hotel.

The location is unbeatable and a great find for the money for that aspect alone. The room was spacious (more like a little apartment) and would have been comfortable other than for the fact that it felt really dated and that noone has spent any money making the place feel newer/sharper or more comfortable in the past 50 years. When we went, there was some construction going on outside. I advise the owners to remodel the insider of the apartments and that will go a long way.

The beds needed a top sheet, the AC didn’t work, the elevator was shaky, and the parking was hard, but parking seems to be hard in all of the cities in Italy it was clean and had some charm but it was really hot in the room the one night we stayed.

We had a very pleasant stay plenty of hot water for shower but could use an upgrade on their mattresses they are a bit uncomfortable. Front desk was helpful with directions and getting us transportation back to the airport.
