We had a lovely stay at this small boutique hotel in Florence. From the moment we arrived, it truly felt like home. The staff were all amazing, and the gentleman at the front desk was especially friendly, welcoming, and incredibly helpful throughout our stay.

Breakfast was outstanding—honestly the best breakfast we had during our entire two-week trip in Italy. The hotel is run more like a bed and breakfast, which added a warm, personal touch that we really appreciated.

The only point worth mentioning (and this is not a complaint toward the hotel itself, but rather the reservation description) is regarding the “one-bedroom apartment.” We booked it expecting a separate bedroom and living area, as there were four adults and we wanted a bit more privacy. In reality, it was more of a large studio divided by a TV unit. It would be perfect for a family with small children, but not ideal for four adults.

That said, we made the best of it and were only there for three nights. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and I would absolutely recommend this hotel for its charm, comfort, incredible staff, and amazing breakfast.

Beautiful Old World charm boutique hotel situated in a great location. Uffizi Gallery is across the piazza. Galleria Dell'Accademia di Florence is short walk down cobblestone streets. Restaurants and shopping near to choose from. Staff warm and welcoming. Room very comfortable, spacious. George and his staff make an amazing breakfast. Would definitely return again. The room is large and comfortable and the bathroom is always warm which is good during cold autumn period.
They provide free flow of water and juice bottles which is rare in other hotels.
The area is superb as it is right in the piazzia de signoria and walking steps to uffizi gallery.
Overall, the best stay of my italy trip.

Lovely boutique hotel, right off the square where the Uffizi is located, and surprisingly quiet, given the location. The staff were very gracious and helpful, and the amenities lovely.

There was a bar & breakfast area where they kept a refrigerator stuffed with soft drinks and water, and the bar had a ton of bottles for choices (but many of them were empty!) A wonderful gourmet breakfast started at 8am and it was served by the staff around a big table -- so a nice way to interact with other guests, but also a bit difficult to rush it, or get/refill coffee when you wanted it.

The room was amazing, the breakfast was lovely and varied and staff were friendly and attentive. We were also allowed a variety of drinks from the hotel at no extra cost. The location could have not been better.

We stayed here on our honeymoon and we loved it. The rooms were quiet despite being next to the Piazza Della Signoria, the staff were very friendly and facilities clean. Breakfast was very good and balanced. It is very close to many attractions which was great. Highly recommend!

Mateo and his staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome here. We rented this place at the last minute because the VRBO we booked several months prior ghosted us and never sent check in instructions. Mateo dropped everything to get us checked in and gave us a tour of the beautiful, historic palace. It’s a magnificent boutique hotel with only 12 rooms and they make you feel like you’re the only guest. They seemed upset when we weren’t able to come for breakfast since we had early trains to catch each day that we were there. I wish I could have extended our trip because we didn’t want to leave here! Also, the location is superb, right there in Piazza del Signoria!!!

We were in the top floor apartment and it was not very well maintained. It was dusty with very worn sofa, drapes, and bed cushions, and the thermostat did not function well. There was a mirror in the bathroom that was dangerously cracked. The property is ideally located in Piazza Signoria, in a characteristic 13th-16th century building; the breakfast was good, the staff were freindly and helpful and guests were invited to help themselves to alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages in the fridge. These latter amenities were all great but did not quite offset the condition of our room, especially for the price.

Such a charming, clean, friendly boutique hotel.

This is such a charm hotel. Remember it’s Italy and so everything is slightly worn. The beds and pillows were great and extra towels provided. They have a mini bar with free waters, sodas and juices and it’s self service. The breakfast was very charming. Pastries, fruit plates, yogurt and eggs cooked to your order. The coffee options were amazing and the best coffee!!! The location could not be better. Best best location for walking. 4 minutes to the Duomo, 2 minutes to the Uffizi, and right at one of the best plazas. Restaurants and shopping everywhere. Mini fridge was great for keeping sodas and waters cold. The elevator is so ao so tiny that we just walked the stairs. Lots of stairs but it’s Italy after all. The staff was so friendly and accommodating and arranged taxis as needed.

The only better location in Florence would be insideUffizi itself or at a Medici villa. Each room is unique but beautiful with its own view of historic city. Look no further, this is a fantastic place to stay and offers great value. We traveled as a family of four with a 14-year-old and an 11-year-old. The service was top-notch and we felt like we were part of the family. The hotel is in an excellent location and our apartment was great. The place is owned by a family and they understand service and were incredibly hospitable. The breakfast spoiled us with made to order eggs, a beautiful plate of fruit, and the freshest rolls and croissants. The coffee was excellent and unfortunately, we haven’t found as good of coffee anywhere else in Italy.. The staff are wonderful, every single one of them. A few things to note, the rooms are up a narrow flight of stairs, so if you have any physical challenges, this might not be the best place, although there is a small elevator. The staff go out of their way for you. For example, we couldn’t get reservations at several of the nice restaurants And the sun in the family physically went down and out of the hotel, and walked to the restaurant and made a reservation for us. He also made reservations via phone. They provide unlimited water, minibar, etc. we have been staying at multiple places and this one by far was the best and exceeded our expectations.

This hotel was unlike any other! It felt like youre staying at a friend or family members house, not a hotel! All of the staff were so friendly and accommodating. Their delicious breakfast normally starts at 8 AM, but we had an excursion planned and needed to head out by 7:15. They got started with breakfast early and made sure that we had some coffee and pastries before we needed to leave!! The rooms are very spacious and clean, and the hotel is within walking distance to all the sights and restaurants. If we come back to Florence, we will definitely be staying here again. 10/10!

We enjoyed our stay. The location in the square cannot be beat. The view from our room and from the breakfast table were wonderful. Once you find it the first time (use the numbered address and ring the bell for entry, do not look for a sign) the location near several landmarks makes it easy to find your way back. The breakfast was good and the complementary lounge area was unexpected and very welcoming. Don’t expect ultra modern furnishing, this is charming and spacious and old worldly with lovely paintings, fresh flowers, and beautiful historic furniture. We would stay again when we return to Florence.

One of our favorite stays in Italy! It’s like staying in your own palazzo, a secret door, with the best breakfast we’ve ever had in all our Italy travels, in a grand dining room with fellow travelers. It is old world charm, historical. From the minute we walked in, we knew this hotel was exceptional! Located at the heart of the square and walkable to so many incredible things in Florence. Extraordinary service in a beautiful hotel!

This is one of the best places we have stayed at. The rooms were authentic, yet in great condition and clean. The service was extra-ordinary. George and his team provided us with a great daily breakfast and were so welcoming into their kitchen for anything we needed. They also provided free drinks, which we all loved, and had a chance to meet some of the other guests, and all of us were as in love with the hotel and service. In addition to all this, the place is so perfectly located and within 10 minutes of all the top attractions, but it’s quiet at night. The AC was effective and beds were comfortable. We were on the top floor, so did have to climb stairs which was the only con, however the room was well worth it. They do have an elevator for your luggage, which they helped bring up and take down for us. I would stay here again without a doubt!

From the time we entered to the hotel to the time we left we were surrounded with excellent service, beautiful authentic environment and warm atmosphere. What a wonderful perk, especially if you have an early tour and want to sleep in a bit longer. My only small complaint was that the shower was part of the bathtub so a bit awkward but nowhere near a big enough issue to mark off any stars. We would stay here again, to be sure.

The property and staff are amazing! Our family of 4 enjoyed our stay and wish we had longer. The made to order breakfast was delicious and unexpected, more like a BnB experience. From the pictures we knew the property was a bit quirky but we found it fun and charming. The biggest challenge was the small elevator and walking 4 flights of stairs. The staff minimized this by taking our luggage up and down at the beginning and end of the stay. Also rental cars are not advisable with tiny streets in the area and difficult even for taxis to avoid walking tourists. Definitely walkable to all major sites (Duomo, Uffizi, Academia) and property/location is highly recommended!!

A hidden gem in the center of Florence

As the other travelers have noted here, the highlights of this hotel are the location and the warm welcome you get from the owner, Sebastian. We had to leave early for the airport and sadly didn’t get to experience the breakfast that everyone raves about. They arranged for a taxi to pick us up at 5 am which was very helpful. We were frantic when we realized we have left the passport in an Airbnb in Rome, and they went out of their way to help us have it retrieving and brought back to Florence.
