The staff were very nice. The shower was super gross, there were bugs in my room (I never opened the window) and the bed was very uncomfortable. I understand you get what you pay for but you should at least be able to have no hair in your shower and a bug free room at a 3 star hotel.

Location couldn’t be better, room was comfortable. Air conditioning worked very well, bed was very firm but perfect for us. My only complaint is breakfast was a little bit or miss. The first two days it was great. Our last day we got there a little later but still over an hour before it was done and it was just potatoes, a few slices of bacon and some yogurt. No fruit or eggs. It wasn’t a big deal but would suggest trying to get to breakfast closer to opening time.

The location of the hotel is good, however the hotel is inside a building on the 3 floor. I believe the hotel has the 3 and 4 floor. You need to take the elevator to the 3 floor, and if your room is in the 4th floor there is no elevator to the 4th floor only stairs. My room was on the 4th floor. My room was so small that it felt like a cell prison, very depressing. The breakfast is from 7:15 am to 10 am, very basic and has limited options. Positive: The personal is very helpful and friendly. The air conditioner was really good and room was clean. However, The room was very small and the bed hard. My body hurt after the third night of sleeping there.

I read reviews on Hotel.com and they were either 1 or 5. We arrived at the hotel around 1:30-2 pm and our room was ready. The room itself was pretty big. It was hot in Florence, the room did have an AC and it was working when we got to the room and that was the only time it was working. We couldn't turn it back on. Luckily, we had a big window that we left open at all times and room was OK temperature wise. Our room was facing the little courtyard, that had couple of tables and patio furniture and had a lot of shade and probably not a lot of people knew about it. I had coffee in that courtyard several times and it was very nice.
We requested a room with 2 beds. I think, we had 2 beds, but they were next to each other with the same sheets and blanket, so it was basically one bed.
The worst thing about the hotel was breakfast. The croissants in any stores are better than theirs. The selection was very limited, there was a sign not to take more than 1 croissant (like someone will actually would want another one) and there was a sign not to take anything to the room. Anyway, hotel was good, the location was great, but skip the breakfast.

The breakfast was excellent and the staff was very helpful. The building is quirky, with lots of corners and long, twisty halls. The only reason I took off a star is because even though there is an elevator, there were several stairs to get up to it, more stairs to get up to reception on the third floor, then stairs to go back down to our room on the first floor, and every time we went out we had to go back to the third floor to leave our key at the desk. This would not be a problem for most people, but we are 70, with bad knees, hips, and feet, and had heavy luggage to haul. It is a nice hotel, and the location is excellent, but I wouldn’t have picked it if I had known about all the extra stairs.

We were the first timers to Florence. Great location. Easy walking distance to all the main sightseeing spots, shopping, convenient stores, cafes, bars, restaurants etc. Strong AC, the toilet flushing button barely works, small bathroom and small shower stand. Our room is on 4th Floor. You have to walk up stairs to the room after the Elevator ride. Pretty lounge and hallways. Not enough cash for change when paying the city tax by cash, has to pay by card.

We chose Maxim Axial for the location, the hotel is literally right down the street from the Duomo, with endless shops, restaurants, and beautiful streets to wander just outside the door. Florence is a walking city and this location was perfect for exploring everything on foot.
The hotel itself is a little dated, but it was well maintained, clean, and comfortable with nice bedding and very cold air-conditioning. One helpful note, the check-in desk and lobby are located on the third floor so there is not a traditional street facing lobby. However, there is signage directing you to the elevator and the third floor. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. We really enjoyed our time in Florence and would stay again for the unbeatable location.

The hotel was okay and somewhat clean. But the bedding was really bad. Bed was very firm and the pillows were flat and lumpy. Better to use a towel rolled up. Not just 1 but all 6 provided in the room.
Breakfast was good. Most staff was helpful and friendly.
Location was good, no view from any window unlike what I thought I was reserving.

Would definitely not rate this above a 2 star hotel. Room was dark and dingy, paint chipped and tons of marks on the walls. Went to breakfast and decided to skip it when we saw what it was. The location is fantastic. If you are looking for a room that could sleep 4, this is a good choice. I didn’t like that keys were just left in a bowl on the front desk, clearly marked with you room number on it and no attendant at the desk… not sure what stops anyone from taking a different key and entering your room. If I was a woman traveling alone I would have been extremely uncomfortable.

This hotel is ideally located near the Duomo in Florence so it is easy to walk to various sites around the city. It is easy to return to your room to drop off a bag, jacket, or take a bathroom break, before heading out to see more sites. The front desk employees were very kind and helpful. The bathroom has been remodeled and is very nice.

This hotel is in the center of Florence. You are able to get to all destinations by foot. If you have a rental car, you actually have to pull up in front and they will pick up the car and valet it for you. The only downside is my room didn’t have any air-conditioning so it was a little hot and stuffy at night besides that I would definitely stay here again.

The two best things about this hotel were its location and the staff. It’s located a 30 second walk from Santa Maria del fiore in one direction and Piazza Republica in the other. The staff were super helpful and accommodated well for our family. The only aspect we didn’t like was the breakfast which was very basic but there are lots of eating places within a minutes walk. Overall, I would stay here again for its location and staff

It is the worst hotel I have ever been in, the staff extremely rude. They no nothing about hospitality. The bathroom smelled bad, the bed is hard and so are the pillows. The ratings made me stay here but really zero satisfied. The only good thing is the location.

Slightly older property, but very central location. 2 minute walk from the Duomo, and 5-10min walk from all other major attractions. Be aware that the Bell Tower bell intermittently rings throughout the night and is audible from this location, so may wake you up if you are a light sleeper. One minor issue of there not being hot water in the morning, but it was resolved the next day. Good for solo travellers.

DONT STAY HERE. This was not a budget hotel—we chose it because it was more expensive than other options and expected better quality. That was a mistake.
The room we were given while traveling with our teenage daughter was extremely small and visibly dirty. There was thick dust throughout the room, especially on top of the closets. On the second day, we found hair in the bed after lifting the sheets. The walls were so thin that we could hear everything from the next room. Before leaving, we checked under the bed and were shocked by the amount of dust and debris—it was unlike anything we’ve seen in years of traveling. All of this is documented with photos.
Parking was chaotic and confusing. Staff instructed us to drive to the hotel, then seemed confused about our car. One night we were told parking was unavailable and sent back into the city; the next morning they warned us about possible tickets. No one appeared to understand their own system.
Breakfast was poorly managed. Although advertised as 7:00–10:00, food was consistently gone early and rarely replenished, even before 8:45 AM. Staff seemed annoyed when guests asked about the breakfast issue. Reception staff were distracted and unprofessional, and customer service was essentially nonexistent. We have traveled extensively for over a decade and have never experienced a hotel this unhygienic and poorly managed. There are many wonderful places to stay in Florence—this is not one of them. Parking issue was a disaster, too.

Really nice hotel, couldn't be more central than that, 3 minutes from the Duomo and 3' from Palazzo Vecchio. The room is comfy, wifi works ok and the breakfast is ok. Really recommended if you don't have a car, because the garage they use has to collect and bring it back and everytime is about 20-30'. But if you just arrive there, leave the car and get it when you check out is perfect, also not expensive at 30 euro per day (small car)

We loved this hotel! The location couldn’t be better — just a minute’s walk from the Florence Duomo, and you can even see the Duomo right from the reception window. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and they even welcomed us with free wine, which was such a nice touch. Breakfast had good, standard options, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, sharing great tips on exploring Florence. A warm and welcoming stay in the heart of the city!

Very helpful receptionist who offered good information. We felt that everything offered was as cheap as possible eg paper cups for hot drinks in bedroom, low quality food for breakfast. Room was acceptable, but had scaffolding and walkways across the window. Hairdryer (if that is what it was) in bathroom was unusual and useless. However the location was fantastic so it’s fine if you’re ok with quirky furnishing and basic facilities.

Stayed 3 nights. The hotel is perfectly located in the center of Florence, just a short walk from all the main sights (eg. Duomo). We appreciated the simplicity, cleanliness, and charm of the place. The hotel is perfect for those looking for convenience and relaxing atmosphere while in the heart of Florence.

Bit of a downside is that it can be noisy if your room is by the staircase and facing the street like ours. Hotel also requires you to leave your room key whenever you go out, which seems odd but didn’t have any issues with it.

The staff were amamzing. We were greeted with such enthusiasm. The room was more than adequate for our needs. There are noise in the hallways a couple of times but it was guests (old people) talking loudly and not being considerate. I don't consider this a fault of the hotel. The brakfast was very good for just 8 euros. Loved having a window we could open and the view of the Duomo in the distance.

Staff was very friendly. I booked the economy old quadruple room for 2 people, and the lady at the front desk said it was a big room for just us. In actuality it was the perfect size when compared to American hotel rooms.

Didn’t know the elevator only goes to the 3rd floor, so of course our room was on the 4th and we walked 2 flights of stairs every day without help with our luggage. I traveled with my 80 year old mother so you can imagine what that was like. Though the benefit of the 4th floor is that it’s quiet. Also the shower tub is very high to step over.

Last thing I’ll say is you have to turn your room key in every time you leave the hotel, and pick it up at the front desk when you come back. Seemed weird/unsafe to me since they don’t check your ID to prove that it’s your room when you ask for the room key back, but may be a norm here. They also give you a separate key to let yourself in and out of the front of the hotel when there is no one at the front desk (midnight to 7am I believe).

Advice: Use the front desk to call taxis for you as they are very hard to get in Florence on your own. You could also use Uber but they are 2x the price.

Would I stay here again? Probably not.
