Super convenient location literally right by the Duomo. It's basically a little studio apartment which is very convenient for a solo traveler or couple. Would definitely stay here again. A little loud on the weekend nights, but that's expected for the location. Nothing that a pair of ear plugs can't fix!

Great place for a female solo traveler. I felt very safe as there were three passcode protected entry points and an individual card for my room. Beautiful location right next to the Duomo and very close walk to most tourist attractions in Florence. They keep your room clean with daily housekeeping. Would definitely stay there again!

The location was great. It was centrally located. There’s no elevator so you’ll have to carry your luggage up multiple flights of stairs. Overall it was ok for a few nights. Would choose a bigger actual hotel next time. This was more like a small room in an old building.

We love the location of this property. Grazia, our host was very accommodating. We appreciated her letting us come in to leave our stuff before the allotted time of check in. We love how it was literally a few steps to the Duomo and very manageable walk to the train station. We would stay here again if we ever venture back to the Tuscany area.

For me, this place was perfect, extremely manageable with ground transportation to and from the train station either by foot or cab, and then as far as accessing the city and all of the points of interest, this location for me was fabulous. The staff was wonderful and very accommodating Spoken English very well and very personable adding to my overall enjoyment of this as my choice place of lodging

Walking distance to Firenze SM train station & across from Duomo & The Bell tower. Shopping &restaurants right outside of the building . Very secure place & room being clean daily. This place will not work for someone with mobility problem because there are 5 flight of stairs before you can reach to your unit

Our stay at Adelaide House was a great way to experience Florence. If you are a very picky traveler who wants the fastest Wi-Fi, perfect shower temperature, easy walk to get in, you may have complaints. For us - a young couple staying in Florence for the first time - this lodging was perfect. The location cannot be beat, the host was very friendly, and it was a comfortable stay. Note, it is about 3-4 flights of stairs to get to the lodging. However the location and overall experience and value were really very good.

It is a quiet accommodation right near Il Duomo, and this was great. Room was spacious and clean. The “B and B” moniker is not quite accurate; Adelaide House doesn’t feature breakfast. Also, travelers benefit from being fit when staying here; it is necessary to climb three flights with luggage to enter. We enjoyed our stay here very much.

A wonderful place to stay

Waking up to the bells of the Duomo located a few steps away, was one of the delights of staying at Adelaide House. The host was extremely helpful and kind in ensuring check in and check out was a breeze for this English-only speaking tourist. The room was comfortable and clean. The shower was hot. Working Wifi. Adelaide House was excellent value and I would definitely stay again.

Lovely stay in Firenze August 2019

Fantastic location and great service from Grazie. We were steps from Il Duomo and all major attractions. Grazie was very helpful in making our reservations for our wine tour. I would definitely stay again however I would bring less heavy luggage as there is no elevator and we were on the 3rd floor. However no complaints. Thank you Grazie.

The room is perfect in terms of space and location. It is large, clean, safe, professionally finished and well maintained and the owners are easy to get hold of.
However if you enjoy the little details you’ll be annoyed by the lack of a kettle and the fact you won’t be allowed to use the kitchen.
Also, the finish in the bathroom was poor. The silicone was peeling and the water in the shower went from hot to cold. Also i found the lady who runs it rude.
Finally, the wifi kep disconnecting and when I complained I didn’t get a resolution.

Adelaide House is a very compact, no frills, but very comfortable accommodation just yards away from the Duomo in Florence. Our room (#1) was a fair size with it's own shower and toilet/washroom. It had a safe for valuables, air conditioning and a compact fridge. The view from the window was a tiny square on the backstreet below surrounded by other flats and buildings but not what I would call a \"sightseeing\" view - but it wasn't bad at all. The only downside was that Adelaide House is at the tope of 5 (five) flights of stairs (48 give or take a few) with no elevator. Be warned that it's quite a slog if you have a HUGE heavy suitcase like we did. Better off traveling light if you can. But DO NOT let the steps deter you. For a low cost place to crash in Florence that is so central to EVERYTHING, Adelaide House if a great place to stay.

Room was a good size, particularly bearing in mind its city centre location. It was very helpful having a kettle and fridge in the room, not least as breakfast wasn't included - which surprised me given the hotel is described as a \"bed and breakfast\" one. I liked the ability to come and go as I pleased; and those concerned about security might find the locked gate on the stairs a bonus. The stairs weren't an issue to begin with but as the week went on and I got tireder with the walking and heat they began to loom in my mind. But I would readily stay there again if returning to Florence.

We arrived very early and intended to drop off our bags. I thought I booked a hotel not a B&B but she was very nice let us leave our bags and gave us the key for when our room would be ready. Check out was a little weird since we didn't discuss it and no one was there when we were. We just left our key in the room....hope it was okay. We were very busy and only in the room to sleep, leaving very early so usually in this situation I would have a hotel with a 24 hour desk. Otherwise perfect. Clean, comfortable, and near everything.

However I think Adelaide House needs to make the restrictions on when the reception will be open a little clearer, and the procedures for arrival, departures and problem solving e.g noisy guests around those hours. Otherwise a pleasant stay in a clean and well cared for set of rooms.

Located next to the Duomo and walking distance to the train station and all other major attractions. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The building is also very safe and secure. Only thing to be mindful is there is no elevator and quite a lot of stairs, but this is only a minor inconvenience. Would definitely recommend!

Very convenient hotel with kind staff

If you want to be right in the middle of all the attractions in Florence, this is a perfect spot. It's a beautiful street with a view of Il Duomo, close to many good restaurants (and gelato). You can get to all the major museums with no more than a 10-15 minute walk. Great shopping too. The managers, Grazia and her father, are kind and helpful. The room itself is comfortable and clean. The only thing I would have liked is a kettle in the room to make tea in the morning.

Lovely hotel close to Duomo

This was a great hotel. The landlady, was very helpful when we arrived early and let us leave our bags at reception until the room was ready. The room was very clean and spacious. The location is fantastic, literally right by the Duomo. Despite being in the middle of Florence, it was quiet.

We stayed here for a week and loved being so close to the city center and getting to walk by the Duomo on our way home every night. The rooms were clean, had AC (which felt great to come home to in the summer heat), and had WiFi. We had a rollaway bed (really just an extra twin bed) in a double room and still had some extra space. The bathroom is tight and you have to walk up stairs to get to the hotel, so if you have any issues with those, this isn't the place for you. Otherwise, it was great. The breakfast was a card to exchange at a coffee shop just down the road by the Duomo for an Italian style breakfast of espresso or cappuccino, croissant, and juice. Overall, I'd recommend staying here!

Lovely place to stay! Spacious room, spotlessly clean! Friendly and helpful cleaning staff, and a lovely owner who couldn't do enough to help!
I was able to leave my luggage in my room on the day of departure, and pick it up at an agreed time, without fuss.. Couldn't have been treated any better.
The AirCon in the room was a real bonus, after a day out in 35 degree heat. Made sleeping that much easier.

Great location, half of block from Duomo. Walking distance from all the major tourist spots. Room was quiet. . Wi-Fi is bad, needed to sit in hallway for service. (Almost all the hotels in Italy need Wi-Fi Range Extenders, due to the construction of the buildings and doors). Note: a lot of stairs, 3rd floor. You can walk from train station, 20 minutes. Breakfast was around the corner, 5 minute walk.

The locations of the rooms is fantastic for the price and if you're looking for somewhere reasonable in the centre of Florence where you aren't expecting to spend a lot of time, this is great. However, our room was in a separate building and wasn't strictly a \"bed and breakfast\". Our rooms were cleaned every day and we had vouchers for a cafe nearby at which we could get pastries and coffee in the morning but if you're looking for a bar or other \"hotel style\" facilties, you won't find them here. Very reasonable but more like a self-catered apartment than anything else.

This was the perfect location right next to the duomo. Our host, I think her name is Grazie, was so kind and accommodating. She reached out via email a few days before our check in to see our arrival time to ensure she was there. Check in was quick and easy. Be aware that the B&B is at the top of five flights of stairs. Breakfast in the mornings is a voucher for a cafe that is very close. It was a simple, yet adequate breakfast consisting of coffee, juice and your choice of pastry. This was by far the largest room we stayed in while touring Italy. Also, we were able to have them hold our bags our last day as check out was around 10 and our train didn't depart until later that evening. I would highly recommend this place to a friend. For the price, it can't be beat!

I stayed at this B&B back in 2013 (forgot to write my review back then and just found this while booking another holiday (different destination) - Bit late I know but it deserves a review!).

We absolutely loved our stay here! The host was very welcoming, the room was clean and had all the necessities we needed. The location was perfect, walking distance to the main Square and only steps from the Duomo and we could wander through all the little back streets and get lost in the essence of Italy. Out of all the places we stayed in Italy this was by far the best. Would not hesitate to rebook here for future visits!!

Great trip, Adelaide House was perfect. It should be noted that there are quite a few steps to get up to Adelaide, no elevator. It did not bother me one bit. The owners were lovely and contacted me to make sure they knew my arrival. They provided coupons to get coffee, OJ, and a pastry every morning at a very cute cafe down the street.

Great B&B!

Adelaide House is a charming B&B practically right next to the Duomo. Our room, one of five, I think, was small but completely sufficient for our needs. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean. We couldn't see the Duomo from our windows but when you step out the front door it looms over the end of the street a few short steps away. I had a little trouble with the 5 flights of steps as I have moderately bad knees but I could do it. Our hostess was delightful and very helpful. She went out of her way to help us with bag storage at the B&B on the last day. It is unattended most of the day and all night but we were given a set of keys that let us in all the doors and gates so we were very comfortable with the level of security. All in all a good place to stay for our needs. We loved the cherub on our ceiling!

Great location to the Duomo!

The location of this place was great! A few things that could have been a little better, they contacted me to notify me about limited check-in time, which was nice, but it would have been better to also include to call us when you arrive- felt a little lost on this. They came quickly though when I did call. I do not believe I received the room I booked for after seeing the other rooms open, still the room was a descent size for Europe. The breakfast is at a little cafe at the corner two streets down - this included a juice, coffee and croissant, you get a card for each day you stay. My biggest issue was there was no wi-fi, there was supposed to be, however I was told due to the location of the room the signal can be weak though in the end of my 5 days, I never had any internet. If there is the option for wi-fi then there needs to be a better set up. Other than this, I have never stayed at a B&B, so this was a first and overall, it was a nice stay.

Ideal location yards from the Duomo. This is not luxury. Comfortable and convenient, but if you have trouble with stairs look elsewhere- 52 steps up from the street and no lift. Hot drink facilities would have been welcomed.
Owners were very friendly - our flight was delayed so we didn't arrive until around 10 p.m. but they stayed there until we arrived.

The Adelaide House was a lovely place to stay in Florence - steps, I mean steps from the Duomo. The owners were lovely and accommodating to our arrival and departures. Breakfast was not offered at the hotel but at a lovely Italian Bistro very close - coffee and croissant of your choice to start the day. It was a great option. The only downside is the 4 flights of stairs to get up - a pain with luggage and after walking all day BUT we knew that upon booking and that is NOT a reason not stay in this lovely hotel. The building is FULL of character. You are close to everything!!!! I would stay here again.

This is a great hotel with a very helpful staff. It is literally in the shadow of the cathedral and easy walking distance to all the main sights. The only thing to keep in mind is that it is a third floor walk-up, which can be a bit of a strain with a lot of luggage.

Nice room, clean, convenient area

We stayed in Florence from July 3 to July 5th. Overall we had a good experience, the room was clean and staff was helpful. Great location, near major attractions.

Great location, but not a hotel.

Arrived and had to climb two and half flight of stairs. Room clean with fridge, but needed door key in slot for electricity to work, so couldn't leave food in fridge during the day. Walls very thin, could hear neighbours in bathroom.

Best hotel in Florence

We had a wonderful stay at the Adelaide House. The rooms are spacious, neat and clean. Grazia is an amazing host. She is friendly and very helpful, answering our early phone call at 6am! She adds nice touches to her B&B. For example, the beds are nicely done up, sweets were provided in the rooms, and perfume diffuser sticks were placed in the toilets. The quality is at par with a good hotel with the price of a B&B. The location is fantastic, just a stone's throw away from the Duomo, good restaurants and a provision shop/grocer. Highly recommended to all who would like to have an unforgettable time in Florence!

Great value. Great location.

Small hotel without permanent staff on hand, so you sort of come and go on your own. 3rd floor walk up. Very clean, very quiet. Fabulous location just steps from il Duomo. I will stay here again!

Adelaide has an excellent location; central but quiet, which is hard to find in Florence. My room was bright and pleasant. My only reason for not giving highest rating throughout, is that there are no phones in the rooms and there's no staff to relay local messages (incoming calls) or do a morning wake-up call. If you have international mobile service, no big deal, but not everyone does.

Don't book this hotel should not be in Expedia

The only pro to this lodging is that it is close to the Duomo and relatively close to the train station.
When we arrived, we entered a very dark foyer and had to look hard for the name, Adelaide.
Climbing one set of stairs (where there is another hotel that looked much more welcoming and accessible), we encountered an iron gate. Then it was two more flights with 50 pound bags, although the young woman in charge helped with one bag. Note that there is no elevator or lift.
When we checked in,we had to pay an additional amount in cash only for the taxes. The breakfast deal is a coupon for a cafe a few blocks away where you got coffee/tea and a yummy pastry.
The room as a good size, as was the included bathroom, but this is a barebones establishment.
We packed early in the morning, as we had an early tour, but the woman in charge was not there.
We returned around 10:15 (checkout time is 10:30) and left our keys with the cleaning lady. Note that we had 3 keys, including one for the iron gate.
Don't book this hotel is you have large, heavy luggage, or you don't like entering dark, unknown
buildings.
