Summer

Room and property were clean. Rooms outdated and mattresses need to be replaced. The reviews about the breakfast were misleading. Not much food when we went. Staff very friendly and helpful. Best part of the hotel was the close proximity to the Duomo and the tiny rooftop terrace where you could look at the Duomo.

NOTE. We actually stayed at sister property a few doors away. A problem with the lift prompted their offer to choose between a several floor walk-up with assistance for luggage or alternate lodging while still having access to the rooftop we so looked forward to. Plenty of notice and staff were outstanding.

Positives: clean room, very friendly and helpful reception staff. Ideal central location, beautiful roof terrace overlooking the Cathedral!

Negatives: bar was not open, terrace shuts at 9:25, we were enjoying the views, sunset with our own drinks, it would have been nicer to open up later.
Breakfast could have a little more choice, but was adequate.

Overall: I would stay here again.

Amazing staff! Super kind and helpful. Only issue was the elevator didn’t work and they were on the top floor. Other than that, they had a beautiful view in the room and on the rooftop. They offered free drinks for the inconveniences but staff was very nice and that made us okay to stay even though we had to walk up 4 flights of stairs.

We stayed for 2 nights and had a pleasant stay overall. The room was exceptionally clean, and the bedsheets were spotless. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the location was fantastic with great nearby attractions.However, there were a couple of inconveniences. Because the two hotels share the same building, checking in was a bit confusing, and the elevator was unfortunately broken. Having to climb up to the 3rd floor to check in was a little difficult. The management was very accommodating and gave us a complimentary breakfast buffet to make up for the inconvenience.

The hotel is four flights up from the ground floor. Upon arrival the elevator was not working and the climb via the stairs was 115 steps. The week before, I received an email from the hotel denoting that they were looking forward to our visit. No mention that the elevator was not working. Our group of four, was elderly and unable to use the stairs. The hotel was insistent that we check-in and enjoy the roof-top terrace with the incredible views of Florence and the Duomo. I kept repeating to the clerk that it was not going to work out because of the stairs. In the end, they found us another room at a different hotel. No compensation was ever offered.

This Hotel has an excellent location but it’s the staff that is incredible. When we arrived, having not received any notice from Expedia, the elevator was broken. We had to climb five floors of stairs with luggage. That was a terrible start to the check in. However, we were greeted by a wonderful person named Lucia who made us comfortable, gave us cold drinks and allowed us to relax and breathe. Almost immediately we felt better. Another staff member from the Dominican Republic who spoke several languages was absolutely helpful, personable and extremely friendly. We were given the option to change hotels to a nearby one because of the elevator issue but it was the staff’s approach that convinced us to stay. And we absolutely loved it there…breakfast on the terrace, easily located and findable after a long day of touring and eating. Clean rooms and awesome view of the Duomo. An excellent gelato place “Grom” is right outside. We forgot about that broken elevator until we returned each night and were grateful for that last boost of steps to complete our daily goal!

The location of this property is excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast provided was nice. Our bedroom was a good size, although the bathroom was a little small (particularly the shower). Not a problem for us, but a larger sized person will want to think about this.

This property is on the fourth floor of a building and unfortunately while we were there, the elevator was out of service. The staff carried luggage up and down the stairs, but we still walked down and up the stairs a few times each day. Also, the terrace and bar were closed while the elevator was being repaired.

They are supposed to be getting a new elevator, currently only one person with luggage can go up at a time. The bar on the rooftop is unfortunately closed but the rooftop itself is open. No English channels on the TV but the room is very quiet. Location location being 1 block from the Duomo makes up for a lot of things in an old hotel. The wine bar right next door was great as well as seasons restaurant a half block away. Overall I give it more positives than negatives.

To start, this hotel begins on the 4th floor of a building. To get there, you have to get on a tiny, old and scary decrepit elevator where only 2 people fit and perhaps your luggage. On the 3rd and final day of my stay the elevator was out of order and I had to take the stairs down to the ground level to finally get out of there. Mind you that going down 4 floors in Italy is like going down 8 floors!! The breakfast was poor, scrambled eggs and pieces of hot dog + coffee, croissants and some cookies.
Also, you can clearly hear people in the other rooms carrying out normal conversations. The keyed door locks (that’s right, not cards) didnt feel safe and were also loud. Overall, my worst experience in hotel stays of all my world travels, sorry to say.

We loved this hotel. Breakfast was yummy. The rooftop view took our breath away. Only issue, and it was a BIG one, we had was that the life didn’t always work and the hotel is up on the 4th floor. The lift would need to be repaired permanently for us to return. We loved the staff too. Just that lift issue.

Arguably the worst hotel experience i have ever had in my life. We stayed here for 3 nights, and for two of the three days the elevator was out of service - so we had to walk up the 5 flights of steps. The elevator was also out of service upon checkout, and the hotel staff refused to help us carry our luggage down the steps.

Additionally, the rooftop bar was closed - which was the primary reason i booked this hotel in the first place.

Room is straight out of the 1980’s, still using a metal key to get in and out of the room as well as for the safe. Extra charges applied for changing out our towels during the stay.

Hotel staff were extremely rude when we inquired and complained about the elevator being out of service. They refused to entertain a potential partial refund for the amenities being not in service.

Extremely misleading seeing this hotel being ranked high on expedia….not worth the money at all.

Good central location is the only positive.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

Let me start by saying the “queen bed” is 2 twin size bed together. One was higher than the other. It was very uncomfortable for me and my husband.
There was little spiders everywhere!
Also, there were no instructions about how to get to the garage. We had to walk like 15 to find a garage!
It does NOT look like pictures! Stay away from this “hotel”

Its a 2 star hotel so temper expectations. People were very nice. It has an elevator to reception so 0 steps. We had a triple family room with a big window that overlooked the duomo. Location was awesome. Mild street noise but easy to keep our window open. Little worn but the room fit 3 adults fine. Room was very clean. Beds comfortable. The bath room was tiny. Excellent towels. Water pressure was inconsistent and we had a couple of luke warm showers. Breakfast was ok. But they had a nice coffee machine. Selection was limited. This is a small 2 star that tries very hard to spruce up. They had a wonderful lounge and terrace area with a view of the city. Given the hotel is tiny, that was a benefit if you didnt want to stay in ypur room. This is a small 2 star that tries very hard to spruce up. Utilitarian. I personally like a tad more luxury for price to value. But overall we had a very pleasant stay with dozens of excellent restaurants within 3 minutes.

Lack of maintenance and proper cleaning makes this one of the worst hotels i have ever visited. Strong smell of smoke, everywhere, windows that do not close properly, shower does not work, it is dirty(!). Shower curtain was brownish on the bottom, walls and curtains were obviously and disgustingly dirty. The bed blanket was very nasty.

No noise canceling walls. I could hear everything in that hallway, doors slammed keys jingling. People talking. I was startled awake so many times. But they do hold your luggage after check out.

Treat yourself and spend a few extra dollars unless you want that motel 6 dirty experience and have to worry if okay to step on the ground.

Worst thing is they don’t even provide slippers but I been to Japan and brought my own just in case cause I have that feeling im stepping on mold or going to get athlete’s foot.

And don’t even begin with the shower.

Maybe it was just my unit or cleaning was off so take this with a grain of salt and enjoy if you stay :)

The hotel is very old, if you are looking for amenities in the room there are none. The room is small and sparse. There’s a small step up into the bathroom which I tripped over numerous times. The bathroom is a death trap for a 73 year old man with mobility issues. That said,,that is the sacrifice for an amazing location right at the Duomo. The view from the rooftop terrace is amazing, as it is from the breakfast room. Breakfast is very nice and the staff is friendly and accommodating. If location is important this is the place. If comfort is important, then it’s not

Everything is excellent. Lorenzo at the reception is a blessing. He exceeds expectations in support and kindness. All the staff do their best to help you, the cleaning lady and the kitchen man, also the reception man at night. The location is amazing. You can walk to the train station and at night you enjoy the dumo after the crowds. The terrace has an amazing view.

Pros:
1- extremely great and accessible location
2- great and friendly staff, great manager (i made a mistake in my booking and my whole trip shifted one day, they changed my reservation with no cost which happens rarely in Italy)
3- great breakfast
4- reasonable price for what you get

Cons:
1- although they clean the room everyday but still feels very old and messy. It was totally fine for us since hotel is just a place to sleep for us and we dont want to pay too much for hotel. But if you prefer more luxurious places then pick another place
2- the bed was not very comfortable for us, i prefer more firm mattress but this one was very soft and I got back pain

Great location in a beautiful city

This hotel is on the fourth floor of a building with another hotel. When entering the elevator, you will press and hold number four until the door closes, and the elevator begins to move. Be sure to look at the check-in hours as there is not someone at the desk 24 hours a day.

The hotel was in a fantastic location near the Duomo, shopping and not far from the river, museums, and all of the sites to see in Florence. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Be sure you are able to check in during their check-in hours. The beds were OK, relative to comfort. Keep in mind hotels in Europe do not have conditioner or washcloths so come prepared. This is a great hotel for the price. We would stay here again. They have a rooftop bar overlooking the Duomo, which is amazing!

The location was perfect staff very nice but air conditioning poor and on 3 very hot days did not cool the room ,did not sleep well , hotel is on the 4 th floor , the elevator only worked if it was on the floor you were on ,other wise you had to climb 92 steps to get to hotel . So unless someone came down to the first floor , you were hiking up 4 flights or until you came across were it was. Staff kept saying it just broke but we were there 3 days it never changed , complained about the ac and was told they would check it out but again that was never fixed , building is old beds a little rough to sleep in . But roof top bar was a great view . They got 1 star because the staff were very nice and the location was great ,

I really enjoyed this hotel mostly because of the staff. Lorenzo is an excellent communicator leading up to my arrival. I changed my reservations twice and he was very accommodating. Made the process seamless.
Eloy (spelling) is the most engaging hotel associate I have ever met. Great conversationalist. He ensured each day I was having a good time and shared some of his passions. This will sound cheesy but this hotel actually felt like a home away from home because of the staff’s hospitality. Beautiful view of the duomo from their bar terrace. Will be back again!!

The room is small. Bed not very comfortable. The water in the bathroom sprays everywhere and the shower water never gets very warm. Nevertheless, I would stay there again. The terrace is incredible. You feel like you have a private view of Duoma and Bell Tower.
