This is a wonderful choice for being in easy walking distance to the major sights in Florence, plus many shops and restaurants. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The only drawback is the flight of stairs to climb to get to the reception desk, but that is minor compared to all the positives of staying here. We would definitely stay again.

We stayed here while in Florence and it is convenient and centrally located. Check in was super easy and the staff (Rita) were all great. I had asked about laundry services, and while they are not onsite, they had printed out directions and instructions for us to the local laundromat!! Amazing consideration!!

Our room was spacious and the shower was amazing with a rain shower head that felt great after a long day of walking Florence.

The only downside was our room was over an internal storage area where workers would smoke, so we couldn’t leave our windows open (but it was raining most the time we were in Florence). Also, the hotel does not offer any breakfast if you are wanting that, but we didn’t mind as we wanted to get out and experience Florence and find food ourselves.

For the cleanliness, convenience, service, and location - Highly Recommend!!

Great location in the center of all the main sites. Even the furthest site was only ~10 minutes away. Because it's so close to everything, was able to stop at the B&B anytime to get refreshed and some relief from the summer heat! Staff was wonderful and spoke English. We had a great overnight at this charming little place, booking 2 rooms for our party of 5, both with en suite bath.

The management were very friendly and accommodating — we were able us to store our bags there both before and after our check in/out as we explored Florence — they were also able to offer an excellent restaurant suggestion for dinner.

The B&B is ideally located within easy walking distance of most major sites, but on a quiet street. The bed was comfortably firm and the common area a nice place to have a glass of wine before dinner with our group or coffee together in the morning. We skipped the in-house breakfast opting to just have starter coffee then head out for espresso and pastries nearby.

The rooms were well appointed making good use of the space. The bathrooms were clean and had what we needed, again very space efficient.

All in all a nice overnight for our group. Would recommend and would stay again.

Although the room is not big, it is sufficient, the heating is sufficient, and it is very quiet. It's exactly a fifteen-minute walk from the train station and super close to the main attractions. There are also many delicious restaurants around. The toilet is opposite the room and needs to be exited, which makes it a little troublesome to lock the door when entering and exiting. It is suggested that the owner should change to a password lock for more convenience. Overall, I am very satisfied with the price. Nine points for satisfaction, and one point for encouragement!

This is a very uncomfortable place to stay. For the cost it is better to stay at a hotel. If traveling with bags, forget this. You have to climb about 20 stairs to get to the property. Rooms are small and the bathroom is tiny with no space for anything. Poor service as no one is available at the front desk.

Beautiful bed and breakfast in Florence, with lovely decorations in the reception and lobby and halls. Located close to everything but very hard to locate with Google maps. Small room but the bed was nice. There was no breakfast provided but there was a coffee machine in the lobby. No elevator and the rooms are in the second floor of the building, so not accessible to anyone with ambition issues. Right next door to an amazing bar with very unique drinks.

The saving grace for this stay was how close it was to everything. Our room smelled pretty bad upon check in. They also call it a bed and breakfast but there’s no breakfast, they have a coffee machine that only sometimes worked. The rooms are super tiny and check out is way too early at 10 am.

B&B suppose to have breakfast, hence the name B&B and I am pretty sure when I booked the room, it was with breakfast. But this B&B does not provide breakfast. It has a coffee machine and for a couple of days it was out of coffee. Fresh towels were not provided daily and I had to go and look for it in the storage room.

After 9 hours of travelling, we had to wait for another 2 hours before anybody came to check us in, despite them knowing our arrival time 2 days before. When discussing with other guests, they were in the same situation as us when they checked in.

The rooms were clean. The triple room was quite small for 3 people, but the location was amazing so that was the price to pay. Good cleanliness. Tea and coffee available all day.

Most rooms don’t have the bathroom inside the room, you need to cross a hallway to access the bathroom which is very strange.

This bed and breakfast was nice, but the room we were given was much smaller than pictures lead us to believe. We paid extra for the deluxe room and it was anything but.

Staff was very friendly and helpful in booking a taxi.

Also, it’s important to note that the living room/kitchen area pictured is a shared space amongst many guests coming in/out. It’s bordering the line of a nice hostel.

Really cool location and excellent host! Comfortable, clean room and good breakfast (typical bread and yogurt but also options like homemade cake). There are some limitations around leaving bags to explore since there is no access without a key after 4pm and the stairs up to the apartment were a little musky, but those are small drawbacks. For the most part, an excellent experience that I highly recommend.

We would definitely stay there again and wouldn't;t hesitate to recommend Badia Fiorentina to others. Only negatives were that the AC was not as efficient as we hoped, but it was August in Florence, and we appreciated being able to at least adjust the temperature in the room a little bit. Also, on a couple of occasions we smelled cigarette smoke in the hallway, which may have just been from another guest who smoked outside. Our room was impeccable, clean, roomy, and the service was fabulous.

Location, location, location.

Very good service from the staff. The location is great. You are in the middle of everything and it is easy to get around. The only downside is that the wifi was a bit unstable when we got back at night, but that was a minor issue. We were not planning to eat the free breakfast every day, but we did. Just because we had a lot of things planned early in the morning, and we were still not tired of the food after 5 straight days. I would recommend and stay here again.

Unfortunately we only had a 1 night in Badia Florentina & Florence on this occasion but will most definitely return to both again. Although we initially had some difficulty finding our accommodation it was well worth finding. The staff were so nice & most helpful, pointing out all the places of interest as well as all the wonderful places to to eat. Our room was lovely, clean & spacious and the beds were really comfortable. Plenty of food choices for breakfast & lots of good coffee too. Even though check out was at 11am our bags were stored safely for us until we collected them at 4pm making it so much easier for us to see as much of Florence as possible before we had to get our train to Milan.

AVOID! Bad attitude to customer service.

Very disappointed with the attitude of this hotel. I booked a non-refundable stay late at night and immediately realised I had made a mistake. I telephoned Hotels.com who tried to telephone the Hotel without success.
I managed to contact the hotel personally in the morning to re-book but was told that my credit card had already been charged and they would not allow me to change my dates.

We were close enough to the city center that we walked everywhere. Coming in by train from Rome and leaving by train to Venice later in the week, the walking distance to the train was wonderful. Though the room is not large, it was comfortable, cozy, and perfect for our 10-year anniversary get away. Our host was very accomodating with our strange schedule and offered coffee whenever he would see us come in.

We were extremely pleased with our stay at Badia Fiorentina. The staff were friendly, communicative and helpful, the breakfast was varied and tasty, the bed was very comfortable, and the location is excellent. It is about halfway between the Duomo and Palazzo Vecchio, an easy walk to the Ponte Vecchio and most of the other museums and events we were there for. We were there during one of the hottest weeks on record, and we were grateful for the air conditioning, which was quiet and efficient. Unfortunately, we had a room with a private bath across the hall (most other rooms have an integrated bathroom) and the air conditioning did not serve the bathroom. Most other times, this would not be a problem, but in this particular week, the bathroom stayed pretty warm all the time.

Elenora was super nice but the apartment itself was lacking. Had my stay been longer I would have requested a different apartment.

The shower drain runs very, very slow and the water accumulated in the shower base, the water heater also doesn't heat up quickly, the heater itself was not working, there were no paper towels, very little toilet paper and not even tissue paper. I'm sorry but I would definitely not stay there again.

Our family stayed at Badia Fiorentina for 4 nights. Check in was a breeze and the room was in clean condition. The Quad room has ample space for family of four. The shower was a little small, but everything was kept clean. Breakfast was good with warm pastry, bread, cheese, salami, juices and coffee and tea - quite adequate to start a day with.
Owner and staff were very friendly and helpful. Location was great, it is within 15 mins walk to almost all sights in Florence.

Nice place. A bit hard to find, but that's more owing to the map I was using. Very clean and very hospitable. Bruno is a very nice, warm innkeeper. And, he lives on-site. There were some communication challenges, but he's enthusiastic and, when necessary, we were able to go online to a language translation site to get my questions answered. I stayed in Room 5 in the back with an en-suite bathroom. The wifi didn't always work back there, but, whenever Bruno caught me in the shared living space upfront going online, he would happily reset the router and make sure that it was fixed in my room. The breakfast each morning was nice, including juices, coffee, tea, yogurt, meats, cheeses, fresh-baked bread, croissants, and fruit. Finally, what really sets this place apart is the location. Equidistant from the Duomo plaza and the Ponte Vecchio - 5 minutes in either direction. And, about a minute away from the Palazzo Vecchio. And, tucked away enough to not feel like you're on the pedestrian interstate.

Lovely Place but I Probably Won't Stay Here Again

The Badia Fiorentino has many very nice qualities. Great locatiton, I loved the eating area, the staff were so very hospitable and my room was very comfortable. However, I felt so unsafe in the stairwell leading up to the reception desk. It is very dark. A person can get hurt, especially when they're trying to carry heavy baggage up the stairs. Also, I did not like that there was no ventilation at all in our detached bathroom. It was hot and very uncomfortable.

Quiet but central, and charming

this was a business trip so this establishment was very convenient, it was minutes from the places I needed to be; the wifi was strong and reliable. This converted palazzo is just lovely, and the staff member who greeted me and checked me in was gracious and charming. She showed me the breakfast room, how to use the coffee machine, where to find what I needed if I wanted to make tea or coffee, or get water. In complete opposition, at breakfast time the next morning, the person who followed me into the breakfast room and demanded to know what I wanted to drink and literally chose for me when I was still undecided, was dour and unfriendly. I struck up a conversation with another couple (as you do at breakfast in a B&B) and she rattled containers, rustled bags, washed dishes and generally made her presence felt. I had the feeling she just wanted us all out of her breakfast room. I left the table momentarily to get a business card and when I returned, my place had been cleared. Nice. But a little blot on the landscape of what is a lovely place, and one I will visit again.

Nice hotel close to center in Florence. Hotel staff was good. Morning breakfast was very good. Air conditioning was working. The hotel is on the second floor and no elevator. If you have few bags no big deal. If you over pack like I did it is. Beds comfortable.
However the Hotel should inform people of the fact that the street it is on is very narrow and unable to stop or unpack. One must go down about 50 meters.
The biggest problem was the street signage is vey difficult and Google maps and other internet mapping are not accurate. The hotel should give explicit instructions if one was driving there on the best way to go (avoiding the Pedonale areas (walking pedestrians in the street). I was driving down the streets with masses of people giving me the dirtiest of looks.

Positives: location, host & comfortable bed.
Negatives: This property was advertised on Wotif as a hotel B&b but actually is not a hotel but an expensive old b&b that needs some close attention to cleanliness and guest expectations. Our room did not have an attached bathroom unlike some of the other rooms (this surprised us). This external bathroom had a small shower that had previous guests' hair in between the sliding shower doors, cracked shower screen and dirty used toilet seat. It also did not have an external lock to it. On our first night we found another guest getting in and defecating in our bathroom due to it not having this external lock (that really put us off). The remote of the microsopic TV in our room did not work meaning we had to stand on a chair to turn it on and change TV channels every time. Storage space is limited and there is no space if you have a largish suitcase. You have to place it on the bed to open. Both this and more importantly the toilet incident made us score this place low. Watch out for large number of uneven stairs to reach reception area. No lift.

The owner was nice, but didnt speak english or spanish, only italian, so he seemed frustrated when we did not understand him. The owner served good breakfast, but the remote control in our room did not work, and when we told him about it, he didnt do anything to resolve the problem. Also although we were told that our bathroom was only for us to use, other guest did use the bathroom, but I didnt tell the owner since he didnt understand us.

Fantastic hotel, highly recommend!

Fantastic hotel, very traditional, clean and comfortable. Bruno (the owner) is fantastic, he made us feel very welcome, gave great advice and made great breakfast each morning (especially homemade apple cake!!)
Location is perfect, two min walk from Duomo/ Uffizi right in the heart of it, but as it's just off the Main Street, it was not loud in the evenings. Perfect hotel to explore Florence, highly recommend. Just note two of the six rooms have seperate but still private bathrooms, this wasn't an issue at all for us as it was right next door to our room, all part of the tradition Italian hotel!

One night stop over. Great place, come by train if you can (15 min walk to Florence SMN), otherwise book in to one of the FIR garages to avoid traffic zone fines.

Hotel not as described, I cried the first 3 days!

This hotel advertises as having in room refrigerators, microwave and a small kitchenette. It does not. I was not the only guest that was shocked to see the hotel. Our \"Superior Room\" even over looked the stinky alley court yard filled with garbage.
I booked 10 days, hoping to do some cooking.
The room was very small, the bathroom shower was very moldy, and my daughter took 1 look at the 30 year old blow dryer and decided not to even take it out of the bag. It was discussing. Breakfast was very mediocre, 3 days prior to our leaving the owner even served wrapped, processed cheese slices with out croissants. The cake served was several days old and the salame, rolls and croissants were left out uncovered with the flies circling above.
The only good a bout this place was the location.

The perfect location

Warm and welcoming, Badia Fiorentina is a small B & B, which is also the home of Bruno, who is also a most delightful host. Breakfast is served in a light filled room and there is plenty to choose from. Orange juice and coffee, cereal, a selection of freshly baked croissants and rolls, jam & honey, cold meats and cheese, delicious pear cake and fresh fruit. The location to all the main tourist sights is perfect, you are no more than a 10 minute walk from any of them. Bruno is a genuine Florentine and his knowledge of the area is excellent. He told us about the Galileo museum, which we didn't know about but took the opportunity to visit. My partner found extremely interesting - being a Scientist probably had a lot to do with it! The only negative I would point out is access to the B & B is up two flights of stairs so not suitable for those with any walking or mobility difficulties. Otherwise Badia Fiorentina is excellent value for money. Thank you Bruno for a great stay.

Cozy B&B in the center of Florence

Bruno, the owner, gave us a warm welcome and helpful advice. Our room was great. The common living room has nice decor and we spent some evenings playing chess there. The breakfast was great and easy to take on the go. Coffee and tea was available anytime. The location is perfect and in walking distance of the major sites; close to the Duomo, Santa Maria Novella train station, Ponte Vecchio, etc.

It is a nice accommodation in the middle of town.

You climb a number of stairs (25?)...no elevator, which is about the only negative. Bruno is an excellent and gracious host. The rooms are quiet, very clean, the breakfast is good and there is wine, water and snacks available at store prices. No views from the rooms. For the cost, proximity to everything in Florence and welcoming atmosphere, this is an excellent choice.

Great B and B. Bruno was lovely and so enthusiastic about his city. He claims to not speak English but is doing himself an injustice. Good breakfast and only minutes from main squares.

Location, comfort and good eats

Enjoyed staying here, excellent walking access to the Barghelo Museum, Palazzo Vecchio, Uffizzi Gallerry, and just steps away from a trattoria Pantello that had inexpensive tasty fixed price 2-course dinner with a side of fried zucchini, potatoes and artichoke, and a dry house chianti that topped off the meal.
