Excellent boutique hotel with easy walking access to most of the key sights in Florence. The Reception team was extremely helpful especially with local travel advice, early breakfast bag (for an early day trip) and luggage storage. A special mention to Ricardo who was always willing to help.

I stayed in the Borghese Art Palace Hotel in Florence this past week.

Excellent service. Front desk, housekeeping, breakfast servers, all staff were friendly and courteous. Breakfast food was good, except the scrambled eggs was runny, didn’t taste like real eggs. The staff baked homemade pies each morning which were delicious .The hotel was charming, but definitely needs thorough cleaning and better upkeep. The window shutters in our room, the elevator glass, the tubes/metals outside the elevator were very dirty. We were told the air conditioner was routinely shut off in October, so we had to open our window to cool our room. There were no screens to prevent the mosquitoes from coming in. Outside was noisy-loud conversations and smelled strong cigarette smoke in our room in very early morning hours (1-4am). So we either suffered through a very warm stuffy room with windows closed or being bit by mosquitoes, hearing loud noise and smelling cig smoke with opened windows. They gave us an electric fan but it was also noisy and didn’t work well. I loved the staff, but the hotel maintenance was very poor and disappointing.

The weather was warm.compared to home and we made the mistake of opening the screenless window the first night and I wound up getting eaten alive. It took another day for them to get an air-conditioning unit in the room but after that it was fantastico. Staff was friendly and helpful and the fresh baked goods at breakfast delicious. Would stay again. So centrally located to everything and we have bad knees and feet.

The whole place is in need of serious cleaning. Glass panels on the elevator are all filthy. Bathroom wall has water stain and looks like has mold built up. Mosquitoes present in the room.

Virtually everything that you would want to see or experience in Florence is within a few minutes walking distance from the hotel. Ideal for walking to the galleries and main areas like the cathedral and Ponte Vecchio. Small but clean room with good selection of toiletries. Very nice breakfast. Friendly helpful staff for recommendations for restaurants too! Will definitely be there again.

I was disappointed with this hotel choice as the room I booked was not the room I was given, in fact it is not pictured on the website at all. I booked the \"Junior Suite\" which is shown as a bright, large well furnished room with two windows. https://www.borghesepalace.it/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/19-1.jpg But the room I got was dark with one window and a bathroom terribly in need of a refresh. The man at the desk told me I could not expect to have the room shown that it was only a catagory. I travelled through Naples, Ischia and Sperlonga and always the rooms reflected what they showed me on the booking page. This hotel was the most cost per night and definitely not 4 star, it is the location only that saves it.

I booked 5 nights at this property for my wife and her friend. The main issue is that the junior suite bathroom had a significant amount of mold. The mold smell was also pervasive throughout the room. Leaving the window open during the did not resolve the issue. She and I contacted the front desk to ask to switch rooms, which was not possible as the hotel was completely booked. As well, the manager was not in. After the second night, it was decided that they would leave the hotel and stay somewhere else. The front desk person, was responsive and pleasant to deal with, even thought there was nothing he could do. We were told to contact the manager, and given his email. For the past week, I've been trying to talk to the manager, but have not received any response. I'm quite disappointed with the level of service provided by management. One would think that management would be quick to contact someone when there is a mold issue in the room and the customers leave after 2 nights.

Very nice hotel, big clean room, bathroom and the room had everything what needed. The staff was friendly and responsive to or needs-a couple of days it became too hot in the room , we have reported the case to the front desk and they have quickly fixed that.
Breakfast was wonderful!
The main thing - excellent location, right in the old part of town with short walk to every historic landmark - Dome, Croche, Uffizzi, etc. !

Breakfast had different breads to toast and luncheon meats with condiments for sandwiches. They also had eggs, bacon, pancakes, cold cereal with raisins, nuts, etc. also had yogurt and cappuccino maker or choice of tea. Gluten free options too.

Staff at front desk and breakfast room were courteous and friendly, excellent hosts.

Room had a large king size bed with extra pillows and a fridge. It was dated, but clean. We did not use the air conditioning as we could open the windows. We were in Room #304 and could hear bar patrons at the end of the night, but that didn’t last long.

Hotel was in the tourist district and walking distance to many tourist destinations and there was a laundromat across the street. $5 for wash and another $5 for the dryer. Restaurants were expensive, as expected, but looked inviting. The gym was in the lower level and had a sign for an extra charge for $10-15. We did not use.

The rooms were clean and spacious if a little lacking in colour and character. Walking distance to all the main attractions with lots of restaurants close by. It did not seem the bar ever got opened and would have liked coffee available in the room rather than just tea bags. Breakfast was tasty and good value so only had a few minor negatives. We still had a good stay and would consider it again. So maybe being a bit picky.

Loved Florence the atmosphere was friendly and you felt safe lots of nationalities milling around. My favourite bit of my stay was walking around the duomo in the evening soaking up the atmosphere.

I look forward to another stay! The location was great, with an approximately five-minute walk to the Duomo. There were many restaurants, shops, a pharmacy, and an outdoor vendor market nearby. Also, the Arno River is less than a 10-minute walk from the hotel. (I took a walk from the hotel, over the Arno River, and up a nearby hill to a David statue that overlooks the city in about 30 minutes.)

The hotel staff were very welcoming and friendly; the diversity of breakfast items did not disappoint.

The room was just right for a solo stay! The bed was very comfortable; I enjoyed the comfort of a good night’s sleep. I loved the design of the shower and the art above the bed. Nice!

I look forward to staying again on my next visit to Florence!

Its all about the location with this place. Really close to the Cathedral, Palazzo Vecchio & shops/restaurants.

Very disappointing hotel. The room was clean but the hotel lift and surrounding area was covered in grime. Breakfast was basic, the juices were squash which is usually a bad sign, and for Italy, even the coffee was poor. Location is good and Florence is expensive so I didn’t expect opulence but the hotel was tired and most staff looked like they needed a holiday much more than we did! The shower in our room had no door on it so the bathroom was like a wet room but with a wooden floor. As we checked out they couldn’t even be bothered to ask if we enjoyed our stay - obviously they know not to ask by now! This is in no way a four star hotel.

Booked the Superior single room and found it spacious, with a queen bed and beautiful linens. Sadly I had multiple problems. The safe in my room often did not work and would keep my valuables and money hostage. They finally had to open my safe with a key but they never did come back to fix the problem. Storing my valuables and money in my suitcase was really not acceptable for the remaining 5 days. It was only when maintenance came up the day before I left that he said the safe code should be minimum 4-6 numbers, contrary to the sign pasted on the wall that said 3-6 numbers. I used 3. Kettle in room in a great bonus but you have to crawl under the desk to unplug the lamp and plug in the kettle. My luggage was delayed so I asked front desk to charge my power bank, they did but not a full charge. I asked if I could borrow the wall plug that was in their drawer for a day and they said NI. The bidet in my room didn't work as the lever was broken but housekeeping fixed it somewhat on the last day. Breakfast is just mediocre. I would suggest you go to the many restaurants around the hotel instead. For some reason housekeeping reduced my two medium and two bath towels for one medium and one bath towel. If you showered at night the towels would still be damp in the morning. I corrected them on that plus a few other minor little things like forgetting my water. I've stayed at other four-star hotels in Florence and although this is a beautiful hotel, they lack the finer details to ma

Absolutely great location for exploring Florence. The hotel is beautiful. Had some minor issues with the shower and toilet which were addressed and corrected immediately. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet was very convenient and delicious. Fatija makes beautiful pastries and cakes. On my next trip to Florence this will be my first choice of hotels.
