We had a great stay at B&B di Piazza del Duomo. It was a fantastic location right next to the cathedral. We had a small double room with wet room which perfectly meeted our needs for a few days. We particularly appreciated the water refill station and the vouchers for breakfast at a nearby cafe. Luisa was a great host who gave us loads of information about where to visit. Overall a lovely visit to Florence which was made even better by the beautiful weather.

Luisa was wonderful and so helpful! The location was perfect and breakfast was a beautiful experience sitting in front of the duomo to start the day. The room was quite dark and limited light came through, the bathroom was small and not as functional. Our next visit will be in a more deluxe room!

Nice staff, clean room. Location second to none. Wifi. Free fizzy water at reception. I could look out my window and see il Duomo. For breakfast I went to the Museum Cafe, a 2 minute walk from the B&B to the piazza. Breakfast was great. Ask for the FRESH orange juice. Loved it.

This isn't a standard hotel but a B&B with several rooms on a floor in a secure building on the second floor (you will have to walk up). We had a room with a private bathroom (good water pressure) accessible outside of room but that was fine (I think our room was the only one with bathroom outside of room). The staff was lovely and the room itself though small was very clean and comfortable and central to everything in Florence. They gave us coupons for breakfast at a restaurant next door and the food was good. We would stay there again.

Luisa was a great help throughout my stay. She made my stay memorable by telling me what was available to see and do including dinner recommendations. She helped me know that my train was certain to go in spite of the strike. My room was quaint and comfortable. The location was ideal, and the only downside is the people who party late and kept me awake, but this is true of any big city.

Fantastic location, just next to the Duomo, at walking distance from hundreds of restaurants and cafes. It is a quaint B&B in an old apartment which was part of a palace as per the owner Luisa. Has all the necessary conveniences including airconditioning and a very handy water dispenser. Luisa was very chatty and helpful. She provided detailed information and made check-in and out very easy, even though she was not able to be present.
Small but adequate and clean room, good shower, very comfortable bed, quiet property. Only issue was that the tiny lift was not working and the property was on the 2nd floor. So carrying luggage up may be an issue, although we had light stuff.
Breakfast was in a local cafe and adequate, consisting of 1 coffee, 1 croissant, 1 sandwich and a juice.
The room was fairly priced considering the location and we enjoyed our stay.

Horrible I will be requesting a refund. There was no lift we had to go up 4 flights of stairs with 3 50 lb luggages they only notified us of this within 24 before. The shower was so dirty and we booked the double bed room but they gave us the full bed room. Also no court yard view just the interior building the bed was also very uncomfortable and not clean the ac didn’t work and neither did WiFi for 24/48 hours

This location is amazing and the hospitality is even better! We were coming in quite late after an exhausting day in Siena and Luisa was gracious enough to allow us to come in past check-in time. Her directions and instructions for entry were impeccable making it the easiest arrival over 6 different stays throughout the trip. The following morning Luisa met us to do the official tasks of checking in and then she gave us the best recommendations for things to do and where to eat. I'd stay there again and again!

Fantastic location with a great view of the Duomo and very easily walkable to most parts of Florence. The furthest attraction was a 30 minute walk (Piazzale Michelangelo). The host provided great information and recommendations. The included breakfast at the museum was generous and good quality. The downside of this accommodation is that it can be quite noisy, however being in such a good location this is probably just to be expected!

This property is most unpleasant I stayed. Smallest room with no shower door. When you take a shower you wet everything around. Smelly and small room, no breakfast in the b&b. The owner is giving you like a voucher and you have to go to me corner cafe where you have smallest sandwich, croissant and coffee. No choice.
B&b is so outdated, I won’t ever come again. But location is amazing. It’s right next to everything you need to see in Florence. Owner is very sweet too.

Absolutely perfect location and from my room you could see the Duomo only 50 metres away. The breakfast option of two nearby cafes was ideal although I only tried the Caffeterria Museum as the staff were as great as the view of the Duomo. B&B staff were very nice too. Only slight negative, as others have mentioned and I was therefore prepared, was the second floor location and no lift. Definitely not a place to stay if you have lots of heavy luggage. I travel light so very straightforward for me and would happily return in the future.

We couldn’t have been more pleased with our stay at B&B di Piazza del Duomo! This was our 16th visit to Florence, and after spending 11 days at this property, we truly felt at home. As we were leaving, we already knew we’d be returning on our next trip.

The location is unbeatable, putting you right in the heart of the city. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the bathroom featured a fantastic shower with strong water pressure—hot water was never an issue.

Perfect for me but maybe not for everyone

I loved my stay here! I visited in the winter when rates were low and I booked the single room (Room 4) knowing it will be slightly small but fine for 3 nights.
I arrived at night and when my cab pulled up to the B&B I was shocked just HOW close it was to the Duomo. Yes there were photos on website but usually they can’t be trusted.
I had received codes to enter by myself due to late arrival and everything was as instructed. The room was just as in the photos, but more comfortable and inviting somehow. No weird smells or stains. and really perfect for a solo traveler, it had everything I needed.
Then when I opened my window I was in awe of the Duomo view when looking out to the left.
I was very happy that I chose this place, I loved the feel of LIVING there each time I opened the wooden front door. And the location is just perfect!
Some notes to consider:
- There is no elevator and they are very very clear about that. I only had a small carryon and it was fine. But if you can’t climb 2 flights of stairs or have large heavy luggage, this might not be for you.
- It is indeed noisy. Since it is a historic building, they can’t change the windows. There was a party on the square keeping me up one night. I think special curtains might help. The room to room noise is no joke, you think the other guest is in your room. But guests were pretty quiet at night.
- The cafe next door where you can use your breakfast voucher is convenient and cute, but the quality isn’t great.

Lovely stay in the heart of the city

Great place in terms of reach to sightseeing, restaurants, cafe, cleanliness, etc. Luisa was a very kind hostess, that took the time to direct me to places worth visiting and nice restaurants. Felt like at home! The only thing that might make your sleep a bit difficult, is the noise from outdoors -which of course is to be expected when you choose to stay in such a central point- and a little bit the noise of residents’ steps on the wooden floors, which is again to be expected when you live at an authentic Florence building, which has been renovated and is at great shape, exactly as shown in the pictures! And the view is simply amazing!!! Definitely recommend :)

Great location, service could be better

Great location right near the Duomo. The room itself was very cute, cozy, and clean. The a/c did not seem to cool as much as we would’ve liked but the fan they provided helped a lot. The main issue I had with my stay was the inflexibility of check-in. The check-in window was very short and ended at noon. Although they sent very clear instructions on how to get in, they said we needed to be available the next morning to provide our passports. The problem was we had an early tour and would again not be available during their short availability. We were then requested to send passport pictures through an outside text message. I hated this but also knew we had to get them our information. The first time we tried it, it didn’t work because they weren’t clear on how to send it but finally got it through the second time. If they would have a normal check in time or been more accommodating (we checked in at 12:30) this all could have been avoided. Another issue I had was that breakfast was included but NOT at the property. Additionally, the tickets they left for it were for two breakfast places but they left no directions on how to get to those places.

This is a perfect place to stay in Florence, as it is close to everything. It is very easy to find as it is across from the Duomo. The location of the property was excellent. Who wouldn't want to step outside and see the Duomo on the doorstep?!
When we arrived (a little later than planned due to flight delays), We called the number on the booking and a lovely lady explained how we entered the property, which room we were in and to check in with reception in the morning.
Waiting in our exceptionally clean room was our keys and breakfast coupons for two cafes downstairs.
We were a little apprehensive of being so central with street noise, but the windows were all double glazed which really helped with noise, although we were disturbed during the night from people outside, but its the city centre, so we expected that.
The room was cleaned daily and we thoroughly enjoyed having breakfast looking out at the Duomo each morning. It was also great to have a base to return to during the day for a breather and comfort break!
5 stars for us.

Right beside the Duomo!

I chose this B&B because of its proximity to the Duomo and it didn’t disappoint in that respect. Sadly, not all rooms have a view of the Duomo so be careful which room you book if this is important to you. Prior communication and check-in was excellent considering reception was unstaffed when I arrived. My room was clean and comfortable with fresh decor. The bathroom, although not en-suite, was next door and also spotless. The tea/coffee making facilities were great, there was a fridge and safe.
The high point was the breakfast. I was given a voucher each day and breakfast could be taken at either of two neighbouring cafes. One of them was in Piazza del Duomo, what a treat! Both did delicious breakfasts.

We stayed here for 3 nights. There were positive and negatives with the property.

Excellent location, right by the duomo.
Very clean , kettle and tea, coffee facility in the room.
Very friendly hostesses.
Water dispenser with sparkling water and plain water in the reception.water jugs provided in the room so can be refilled.
Fridge in the reception for the guests to use.

Negatives.
The lift was out of order and we were informed only 48 hour before arrival. My husband has a foot problem so it was very painful for him to climb 36 steps up and down each time we want to leave.
Stairways were very dark.
The day we arrived wifi wasn't working.
Our safe didn't work as the owner didn't have the key. She said, previous guest has lost the key.
Room was very dingy, bathroom was full of mould. Deco was very old. Cupboard handle was missing.
Pillows were very flimsy and thin.
Overall very gloomy.

We had 3 nights in Florence recently. The B & B is positioned well to be able to walk to major must sees.
Unfortunately I am quite disappointed with the room and the photos on the website that are not conducive to what I was given. When approaching staff about this I was told Luisa was apologetic but photos were old. Well a city view the room did not have, we had shutters on our room and had to stick our head out of the window and turn left to see any view, no bidet (which was not a big deal) and the dust was shocking around the skirting boards and a bed that needs to be replaced. Luisa I approached before I left to actually have you resolve this matter but you did not. You will reply to me, saying sorry now, but to be honest it is not good enough after the fact. I am a travel agent and book guests all around the world, and when researching clients trips we rely on recommendations or pictures that are up to date.

The property couldn't have been more centrally located. Yes, you have to walk up a flight of stairs, but you're rewarded with a lovely view of the duomo. Luisa at reception was very welcoming and gave some very good suggestions on places to go (even for someone who has been to the city several times!). The single room I booked was small but very clean and met all my needs. The price included a substantial breakfast at my choice of two nearby cafes that were both very nice. I would definitely stay here again.

The Duomo is steps away, and Ponte and Palazzo Vecchio were a 15 minute walk away. I was staying with a friend, and as two young girls we felt completely safe!

The staff was incredibly friendly and pleasant. The rooms as well as the bathrooms were clean and tidy. Less than a 30 second walk from the Duomo and central to many delicious restaurants!

Prime location! Everything was within a 15 to 30 min walk away. Staff is extremely helpful and welcoming.
The rooms are small and compact but have the necessities. No elevator availability. Our room was close to the rrception desk so unfortunately that wasnt ideal. But overall, great location, price and staff.

We had a chance to have a spectacular view of the Basilica del Duomo.Very well located in the historic centre
of Florence, this little gem was very cleaned and well maintained. Luisa, the homeowner, is a sweet lady and she welcomed you as a member of her family.

Nice place in a fabulous location. There were 2 things that bothered me. First the shower was very small. I’m six foot and 200 lbs so I was squeezed in. Secondly it was loud, I guess that is what you get for the prime location. Finally mosquitoes eat us alive in our room.

Clean and good location apt

We stayed at 2 different apartments. Both of them CLEAN. The customer service is A+
The area is right next to Plaza di Duomo.
Walking distance for museums, restaurants and more.
The only bad thing about our staying was that the B&B was on the 3rd floor and there's no elevator. We've been traveling for 3 weeks and if you have a large baggage like us, be sure the elvator is working.
Overall, if I come back to Florence, will definitely stay here.

Disappointing room in a great area

We had expected something different from what we got. Part of the problem was probably that we didn’t read the small print. We didn’t expect our room to be that small and the bathroom to be off of the hallway. We also expected to have a view of the Cathedral and not a brick wall. Supposedly there are better rooms in the B&B. Luisa was very friendly and helpful and it was literally right off the main Cathedral square but we were very disappointed with our room. I would suggest getting a better room with a view and a bathroom inside your room for a better experience.

Great location and comfortable room

Great location, normal Italian breakfast.
You will need to climb some steps with your luggage, but that was fine. It was noisy, but it is to be expected in a city. Overall nice comfortable stay.
