My mom and I had an incredible time at Villa Agape! We visited during our birthday and the staff made us feel so special! The villa even upgraded our room free of charge to a gorgeous room with a view, because the day we checked in was my mom and my birthday! We felt like princesses and enjoyed every minute of our stay. The food was incredible and grounds and gardens around the hotel were magnificent. Villa Agape made our first trip to Florence a memorable one in all the best ways!

A beautiful old building with lovely gardens and staff who were very helpful and courteous.
The hotel was in a peaceful location positioned on a hill above the town. It was only a 30 minute walk along small lanes, offering amazing views of Tuscan countryside and the city of Florence into the city centre. There was also a regular shuttle from the hotel to the city.
Breakfast was excellent with freshly squeezed juice, plenty of fresh fruit including persimmon and pomegranate, as well as an assortment of cheeses, meats, smoked salmon, breads and home baked cakes.

Of all the places we've stayed in this is by far the most comfortable, yet most classy, best service, friendliest staff (to non speaking Italians), always a smile and seeking to make your stay more comfortable. Wonderfuly clean. Even in the winter the gardens are kept up and there are roses and other flowers in bloom. The shuttle service to the edge of the river to get into town is so convenient. And the breakfast...by far beats them all, try the pistachio croissants (and the coffee machine for every type of coffee style you desire). We wished we had booked more days here, it was wonderful.

The facility was great. The room was clean and the staff were mostly excellent. There was a person at the front desk on the friday that we were checking out who seemed a bit short with us that we didn't know that that day was a national strike and reserving a cab to the train would be a potential problem. I am sure she was stressed about the strike but she made us feel like we should know about this. We probably should have, but didn't. Other than this incident, the stay, the breakfast and a dinner were all amazing.

A beautiful historic villa on the hills overlooking Florence. The villa, which sits in a delightful garden, is a haven of peace and tranquility. Our room was clean and spacious, the staff were most helpful, and there is a free, on-demand shuttle bus to the outskirts of the historic centre during mornings and late afternoon/early evening. Great breakfast and dinner too.

Charming Stay at Art Villa Agape, Florence

We stayed at Art Villa Agape in mid-October and we both loved its beauty and location. The villa is nestled in a stunning area just a short walk from the heart of Florence, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the city.

The property itself is lovely—elegant and peaceful. While the dinner menu at the villa is limited, the food was delicious. That said, we would have appreciated a bit more variety, so we chose to dine in town most evenings.

During our stay, the weather was quite chilly. We learned that the central heating doesn’t activate until November, but the staff provided a space heater. Initially, we weren’t sure it was working properly. After a few days and an email to the front desk, we discovered the air conditioning had been left on by mistake. Once identified, the issue was resolved promptly. In the meantime, we made do with three thick blankets and didn’t let it affect our enjoyment of the trip.

Despite the minor hiccup, our overall experience was wonderful. Art Villa Agape is a beautiful place with a serene atmosphere and a fantastic location.

Our stay at the Villa Agape was outstanding! The Villa is away from town which was refreshing after a day of exploring Florence. The daily shuttle was very helpful and we also walked 30 minutes too and from the city often. It was a very beautiful walk with good sidewalks. Our room was a Superior Double which included breakfast. This is a must! The breakfast was excellent. The staff here was also exceptional and went out of their way to make our trip comfortable. Do not be afraid that the Villa is away from downtown. It’s a perfect location to relax and enjoy the beauty of Tuscany.

The room and its amenities were adequate , however when we asked the front desk about using the AC we were told it’s not in use for that time of year and so our option would be to use a fan (which was dusty) or open the windows (with the risk of bugs/mosquitos coming inside.)

The property grounds itself is very tranquil and beautiful with an amazing garden and wonderful sunset views. Very appropriate for a quiet, relaxing getaway

The staff was very pleasant , especially those who worked in the restaurant

The breakfast was good with a variety of options. I think the dinner menu could use a better variety of options.

From speaking about things and actually making things happen. To remembering my birthday two days later with a cake on my birthday unprompted. When we were invited to an Italian wedding, we jumped at the opportunity to return to Villa Agape after an incredible honeymoon stay last year. This trip also did not disappoint. The staff is so incredibly thoughtful and make sure every detail is tended to. The food is delicious (amazing breakfast,) but the real star of the show is the gardens. They take your breath away every time you step outside. I shed a tear as we left because it had been such a magical way to spend a few days. Shuttle to town is super easy and you feel like you’re in a remote, tranquil villa when in reality you are very close to the hustle and bustle of Florence. We look forward to the chance to return to Villa Agape soon.

The A La Carte cuisine was amazing and they provided transportation to the edge of the city upon request, AND picked you up again. And as for the beautiful gardens! We can not praise this gorgeous villa enough and look forward to our next visit.

Staff was mostly helpful. Room was quite small but charming. Could hear other guests through the vent in the bathroom, and through the walls at night.

I’d stay here again, the grounds with the olive grove were a highlight and it was very relaxing to spend time on the terraces.

An excellent place to stay for a visit to Florence. The location in the hills was great, it felt like you were in the countryside while still being close to the city. This hotel was incredible omg. We stayed an extra night in Florence after staying at a hotel with no reception this was a huge upgrade. We were greeted by Kassandra at reception and she was so friendly and welcoming. She showed us around and walked us to our room. Back to this hotel like wow, it has a beautiful garden, everything is kept so clean. They have a huge park which we took advantage of and walked to take pics. They make olive oil with the olive trees they have on site. The park I was told is 7 acres. All staff members are lovely from the bar staff, to the restaurant which was fantastic by the way. I can’t wait to go back for an extended stay and enjoy this beautiful please a bit more. We didn’t try their breakfast but they left us to go bags including a Gluten Free bag for my wife which was an amazing touch. Nicolette was also lovely, spoke with her about the area and how beautiful the property is. The gentleman working the AM shift on Saturday morning (8-30-25) was also very friendly. Thank you for an incredible one day stay. I can’t wait to come back.

Upside is that breakfast was included. Dinner menu was limited in choice. There were no lighter options. For example; salad, charcuterie board. The gardens and view are spectacular. The walls are surprisingly thin. I could clearly hear people’s conversations as well other activities. Air conditioning was working well which was appreciated during the warm days. Shuttle service has 2 drops off locations. Michael Angelo (great sunset) and the second location brings you within 10 minute walk to Ponte Vecchio. Bring good walking shoes !

The gardens are absolutely beautiful with walking paths throughout the property. The staff was wonderful and very helpful. The food was very good. The room and bathroom were spacious. Internet access was good and easy. They have a van that will take you to two different drop off locations for you to explore the city and will pick you back up as well. This is a stunning hotel with the most beautiful gardens and views. The quirky original elevator takes you back in time.
The staff are very friendly & the breakfast was great.
There is a shuttle bus service to & from the city gates as well as the view point at Michelangelo square, which we used several times during our week long stay.
It’s a great place for people wanting to relax when not exploring the surrounding countryside. But not great for children.

The whole experience at the Agape is first class. The hotel and private grounds are beautiful and a really nice escape from the hustle and bustle of Florence. One of the top hotels we have stayed in 50 years of travel.
The staff are wonderful and have a natural customer facing attitude to helping overcome any issues. The restaurant and food were superb yet not over expensive. You can hide yourself away in the garden or various rooms on the first floor with a good book or for a game of your choice. Truly do not have a complaint or negative comment to make about this establishment.

My first time in Florence and it was the best place to stay. So relaxing, amazing views, and the on site team is the epitome of hospitality. Special shoutout to Sara for her kindness. I stayed in the Leonardo Da Vinci suite. Looking out the window was as if I was looking at a postcard.

My favorite thing to do was sitting in the garden, under the shade, listening to the cypress trees leaves move in the wind. So relaxing.
Will definitely stay there again next time I’m in the area.

The villa is exquisite with its lush gardens. It's in my mind, quintessential Tuscany. The staff went above and beyond to ensure my last days in Italy were exceptional. The restaurant is absolute perfection.
