Clean room. The staff was excellent and the property was a delight.

If you are looking for something close to city center this is a bit out of the way. It’s still walkable in any direction but to get to the train station will take you about 20 minutes.

Now the great factor about this location is the easy access to Ponte Vecchio, Ufizi gallery and Vivilo’s cafe. The affogato at Vivoli is absolutely to die for. They have various different flavors and types of coffee. If you don’t believe me look it up. You can’t miss it. The hotel is close by to Gustapizza. This place is just as amazing.

The entire region is fabulous and you can’t go wrong staying at the Ballestri. I will definitely stay here again. Oh and pay for the balcony room. It over looks the River Arno. You can have morning coffee with a pastry and soak in the views.

We loved everything about our stay at Hotel Balestri. The location right by the Arno River was a quick, easy (flat) walk to every major museum and attraction in Florence. The room was amazing, we stayed in the junior suite and the views along the Arno river were perfect. Hotel was perfect location and within walking distance to every major site. Breakfast selection was mediocre, but it was free. Only taking off one star because the front desk were not friendly to us. It felt we didn’t exist at times walking in and out of the hotel without a greeting or acknowledgement.

Excellent, elegant, small boutique hotel in the middle of all the important places to go in Florence, I say it with the knowledge of someone who has lived there twice. Tthe service is exceptional, welcoming, kind, friendly and in disposition to help. I had the luck to spend Holloween night in their bar and they went out of their way to decorate it. This was a perfect spot for us. We were close to the Uffizi as well as the Ponte Vecchio. Lots of places to eat and enjoy the ambiance of Florence. We got to watch the Crew races on Sunday as well as the gondoliers cruising the Arno which was right outside our window. We chose a \"room with a view\" and were extremely please. Did not realize that breakfast was included in the price of our room and it was a lovely surprise. It was very quiet at night and we got good nights rest for our stay.

Location was excellent for all the local attractions, shops, restaurants and transport. We had a wonderful dinner and cocktails here too. There is some work being done outside the hotel but this did not affect us. I would definitely stay here again if I am lucky enough to be back to Florence.

I never leave reviews but I absolutely loved my stay here. It was beautiful and the view from our room was amazing. The bar was awesome and the breakfast was good. Perfectly located—just a short walk to all the top attractions. I do feel it was on the pricer side of our budget but definitely worth it.

We had a lovely 2 night stay at a room with a terrace overlooking the city which was magical.
The staff were lovely helpful and spoke English very well.
Really convenient location. Nice breakfast in a very pretty room. Would certainly recommend staying here.

Pros: The staff were all wonderful with anything we needed! Especially when we had an incident with our luggage arriving late. The breakfast was absolutely delightful. Super close to museums.

Cons: rooms are small and beds are tiny. The \"rooftop\" is a joke. There was construction goin on right outside the hotel.

A last minute booking in a very busy Florence as our flight and the later replacement flight were both cancelled. We totally recommend this hotel. We checked in quite late and the lady at reception was very kind and helpful. We were able to get a light meal. The room is large and the bed very comfortable. Everything is very clean and the bathroom was very good with a walk-in shower which I need.
We can highly recommend Hotel Balestri.

The top floor terrace faces the Duomo and Santa Croce, giving a spectacular view of the city lit up at night. The food was very good -- some fun, unique menu items. The staff was friendly & helpful.

The only reason the couple of areas that I gave fours were that the room was on the small side, and there was some construction going on along the river -- not the hotel's fault, obviously -- that blocked the view of the river and made the area just in front look a bit industrial. Again, not their fault; just wanted to leave a heads-up that until construction is complete, the area around the property won't be as charming as I assume is usual.

Good hotel. Breakfast was good. Room also good for europe standard: big enough.
Location is good. They have a new bar and front desk was advertising it with discount on first drink. However, when you go to the bar, it was pretty clear that this was a new endeavor for them. There were 3 group of people in bar in total and everyone in staff seemed overwhelmed with that. After waiting for 10 mins without being addressed, walked out and still no one asked what is up. Minus the bar, hotel is great.

Excellent central location for exploring Florence. Located right on the Arno, steps from the Uffizi and Ponte Vecchio, this was the perfect home base for exploring the city for 4 days. Stayed in a superior double which was actually quite small so didn’t have much room to open luggage or unpack, but room was still nice and clean. Staff was very helpful with recommendations and reservation requests for restaurants. Lovely breakfast spread each day. Would recommend and stay again.

I thought the rooms could be a little more updated. I stayed in a connecting room which was good, but one of the bathrooms had a shower over a small bathtub that was very high and slippery. An older person could EASILY get into a SERIOUS INJURY. There is no sense in having that type of bathtub in a room.

My family and I stayed at Hotel Balestri for four days, and it was absolutely amazing. We were fortunate to book a corner unit with breathtaking views of the Arno River and Ponte Vecchio. Waking up to that stunning scenery each morning was truly unforgettable.

The hotel’s location is ideal—just a few blocks from everything you’d want to see in Florence. The property is well-maintained, and the service was exceptional throughout our stay. A special mention goes to Davide at the bar, whose skill as a bartender and warm hospitality added to the experience.

Hotel Balestri exceeded all our expectations, and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Highly recommended!

they made everything right

we checked in to the hotel and i was surprised by the small lobby, but then saw the larger lobby on the other side of the small wall and it was fine for having drinks in the evening. the room -- with a balcony and river view-- was way too small for two people for 4 nights! I was so upset, you couldn't even open the balcony doors without them hitting the bed. I complained and by the next morning they were moving me to what they said was a \"step down\" -- a much larger room complete with sitting area, bathtub, larger bathroom, and a closet. the first room didn't even have a closet. I was ready to check out because i was so upset but they changed me and all was good from there on. nice breakfast set up and service. great location -- right on the river and literally a couple of blocks to Ufizzi and about 6 blocks to santa croce!

We loved this hotel! From the moment we walked into its gorgeous lobby and were greeted by their welcoming staff, we knew we had made an excellent choice! The room was large (by European standards) bedding comfy, very clean, very quiet and totally walkable to Ufuzzi Gallery, Ponte Vecchio Bridge, and all the shopping and delicious restaurants you could possibly hope for. We loved our three day stay and enjoyed the delicious breakfast every morning, and relaxing in the beautiful lobby with comfy chairs and bar service in the evening. Taxi cab services are right outside the door (we never waited longer than 4 minutes) Rooms are cleaned daily with fresh towels and then down service in the evening. Can’t say enough about the helpful staff, who were so friendly and knowledgeable about great places nearby to eat!
