When we arrived the lock on the door didn’t work, took about an hour to resolve which was quick but meant we couldn’t leave to go and explore Naples. There was also a dead bug squashed onto the bathroom wall. The rest of the hotel was nice and location was okay, a short walk to the train station. Staff were really friendly and helpful.

The pool was nice. Free breakfast was great. The staff was friendly. However, the villas were not what I expected,nor were they accurately depicted in the pictures. They were willing to change one out of the two rooms for us but then my kids were be in the villa and husband and i in the hotel. Make sure you book the modern rooms if that is what you are used to. The hotel has a lot of potential. They can make it to more of a resort hotel which would be great. Evening swimming, music, would liven the place up. Modernize or update the villas and that would be even better. Lots of great small restaurants within 10 mins of walk amd a supermarket as well.

This trip didn’t start well, based on a taxi strike. We had to find our own way there and in the dark with no obvious route to reception we ended up climbing a million steps with suitcases! A very steep fire exit.
The next day we woke to discover that the pool was empty and there were no sunloungers we could use! Not even cushions on the chairs and seats around the reception area. We were told that we were a week away from opening of the season which meant for our whole trip we had no use of anywhere comfy to sit or use of a pool! Considering there was no notification or warning in any small print or notes on this site; as you can imagine we were extremely disappointed. The hotel did their best to compensate with a small gesture of a days mini bar but this couldn’t really make up for a lack of a pool area and a hotel in the middle of a busy 5 way junction with very little around it. We didn’t like the area and couldn’t wait to get home. We don’t recommend this place without a car! It’s not walking friendly, footpaths are not suitable for a pleasurable stroll, nor are there crossings which are safe by the hotel. Please check dates when booking to ensure the pool will be open. On the plus side the staff were amazing and the food is great of an evening. Breakfast is basic but okay.

Disappointing - not four stars

Disappointing end to our week in Italy. This was a stop off to watch the football in Naples before flying home. Booked a superior duplex but tried to palm us off with an outside double room with two camp beds.
Eventually got moved after complaining to a duplex but the room was very dated and smelt stale. Poor drainage too. TV didn’t work and some lights not working. Linen was clean though.

Swimming pool and sun loungers not in use until May so don’t book if you want a pool.

This property is a hidden paradise. Mr. Dario at the front desk made check in easy and simple. If there is anywhere to stay while in Napoli, this is it! no need to look further. The food at this hotel was exceptionally good as well. We had dinner the night we arrived in the restaurant and it was delicious! as well as the buffet breakfast that is included with our stay. The premises was so beautiful, and the staff were all wonderful, courteous and professional. We will defiantly be coming back for a longer stay next time. I left my heart in Napoli when I left here.

loved the pool, was a good little hotel. Food was really expensive but we didn't eat there anyways. Good transport links with easy access to central naples just a train away, and a taxi is around 20 - 30 euros if you can't get the last train. overall was happy with everything :)

Relaxing and enjoyable stay

We had an enjoyable 4 night stay at Montespina. Situated out of Naples city centre so was away from the hustle and bustle - would therefore recommend hiring a car. The pool was large and nice to relax there for the day. We had a spacious room, however the hotel seems a bit dated and we had ants in our room which at times got into our bed.

The hotel is on the fringe of Naples, not good for city access, the surroundings are pleasant enough and the grounds are beautiful. The team were wonderful but ourroom was dull and without air conditioning, a summer stay would be out of the question. Facilities were generally good and the hotel bar was superb. The restaurant was a little dated and the food was ok but not the best. Overall we enjoyed our brief stay but, because of location and distance from the city we would not return.

Lovely hotel, great food and friendly staff

My mum and I stayed at the Montespina hotel for a week and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We had never been to Italy before and whilst Naples wasn’t quite what we were expecting the hotel was lovely. The staff were friendly and very helpful, they spoke very good level of English, outside of the hotel there aren’t many English speaking places so could be quite difficult. There’s not much going on in the hotel out of season for entertainment but the town centre is a 15 minute train ride away with the last train retuning at 9:40. There’s little to do within walking distance, a couple of cafes and restaurants, but we were quite happy. The food at the hotel is delicious and the breakfast buffet is a fab idea to set you up for your day trips, with pastries, cereal, toast, fruit, sausage, bacon and eggs to choose from. Our only complaint if you can call it that is that the beds were a little too firm for our liking and our neighbours liked to rearrange furniture at 6am, so I would definitely stay here again and recommend the hotel to others.

This hotel is great for relaxing whilst visiting the Naples area. We travelled from here to Pompeii, Vesuvius and both the Sorrento and Amalfi coasts as well as Naples. But you need to have your own transport as the local area isn’t well served or the most salubrious. The swimming pool is a welcome relieve from the chaos of driving in Naples! I would recommend to anyone doing a local driving tour but not as a base for exploring by local transport.

Fabulous pool and area. Good dining areas and outside areas for drinks. The rooms inside the main building area little tired and small, the plumbing from the adjacent room was incredibly noisy and sounded like it was in our room!! Air con also noisy after a few minutes,
Newer blocks of accommodation looked very nice and better than those in the main building.
Breakfast adequate. We used room service.
Located on outskirts of Naples and an expensive taxi ride into centre.

Peaceful hotel outside of the city

We stayed at the Montespina Park Hotel in July. It is west of Naples, sitting on a secluded hill. We really enjoyed our stay, it was peaceful and staff were very friendly and more than happy to help. The rooms were clean and comfortable and it has a great pool that was never crowded. The hotel provided a wide range of breakfast options plus they made us a box breakfast to take away on one of our tours. We would definitely stay there again.

Nice hotel out of busy Naples

I was happy to stay away the busy Naples, in a quiet place. Yes, it took 10 mins to the closest train station to get into the city, or to Puzzouli, but it worth - for me.
The hotel is nice, room is comfortable, breakfast is great, WiFi was quite weak in our room.

Tired hotel but lovely people

I think this hotel was a 4 star at a time but it is no longer. The pool is lovely but the playground is falling to bits and the rooms are not what I would expect for a 4 star. Very clean and big but need a freshen up. The staff here are fabulous though - they can't do enough for you and really bent over backwards to make you happy.

We stayed for one week in August.You need a car.Great car parking and free.Pool beautiful.Staff very,very friendly and helpful.Breakfast good.Lunch in the bar by the pool good.Rooms and hotel,very clean.Lovely large garden/outside area.A sanctuary in the confusion of Naples! Brilliant Pizzeria just outside the front Entrance.Highly recommend all of this.Visited Pompeii,Herculaneum and the Camping Flegreii area.Solfatara excellent,much more interesting than Vesuvius in our opinion.Try speaking Italian and remember that of course everything is different in Italy .......that is the whole point of visiting another country!

Fantastic pool, friendly staff, comfy beds, great.

A haven away from the bustle of inner city Naples with a gorgeous pool. Stayed with my son, who has disabilities, and a friend, as we wanted to go to Vesuvius, Roman sites, and La Solfatura, but needed somewhere to retreat to and unwind away from the hustle and bustle. This was perfect for us: not shabby, but not too posh either. Clean and comfortable rooms, great beds. The pool is exceptional, and we had it to ourselves a lot of the time. My son adored the pool and hotel, and can't wait to go back. We went almost everywhere by Metro and Train - good city transport links all the way from the hotel to Naples then south to the big sights (Pompeii etc.) Stuff to do nearby too. Bit of a trek into the city centre, and it's a slightly run down neighbourhood, but we traded this off against the relaxing grounds and pool (and the affordable price). Ate in the restaurant a few times, and it was fine - breakfast a hit all round (much cake) - and there's lots of good food nearby too, including a great pizzeria right on the hotel doorstep. Would go again, for sure, and recommend to unfussy travelers looking for an oasis and happy to travel a bit.

Nice hotel but a little bit tired 🤓

This hotel is lovely but quite isolated, it's a 15 minute walk downhill and across a few busy roads to the nearest metro station which links you quickly to pozoulli and the nearest ferry or to Naples and beyond. If you have a hire car then getting to and from the hotel is far easier. Taxis in Italy are a nightmare to source and also very expensive, buses and metro are far cheaper and easy to navigate although they don't really stick to their time tables. Overall this hotel gave us everything that we asked for, lovely breakfast each morning and staff that were extremely helpful. Finally there is an elevator that takes you to the bottom of the hotels drive that isn't advertised this rules out a further 10/20 minute walk ( up or down ) from the hotel gates to the hotel, so, ask reception to point it out for you.

Room not as advertised but Expedia .

We were expecting a room that reflected the photo graphs detailed on the Expedia website for a quadruple room. In fact the room initially allocated had a double bed a single bed and a sofa that had been set up as a bed, leaving very little floor space. The room also had very little natural light. Upon flagging this to the reception staff they stated that the room photos on the Expedia website reflected their superior quadruple rooms a we had booked a standard quad room and therefore been given such. One good point about the room was that it was located right next to th pool area. The hotel did however agree to move us to a quadruple room with two levels and consistent with the sales photos on theExpedia website.

We had a great six days at the hotel with our daughter. She loved the pool and the room was great with it's own little terrace garden. Breakfast ok but very busy each morning but staff hardworking and very helpful. We did not use the restaurant as went out to eat in the evenings. Good location to do day trips from around Naples. Very close to zoo which my daughter enjoyed and small Carrefour supermarket.

The staff at the Montespina was excellent. The poolside is beautiful and relaxing.The rooms are larger than most Italian hotel rooms. However, the rest of the stay was not anything I would recommend. The hotel is an older hotel in a run-down part of the city. It was still respected as there were multiple local groups that met there. The breakfast had canned fruit, no fresh fruit, with imitation scrambled eggs and salad. There were fresh pastries and yogurt. I would choose another hotel for my next visit.

After a serious mix up with the booking and the owner telling us he was fully booked when we arrived , he agreed to allow us to use the pool all day and then take us to an alternative hotel , but later in the day he came back to us and said he had a room for us , it then became a perfect last day to our holiday

We stayed here for 2 nights mainly for the pool. The rooms are a bit old but clean, the air con does not work very well at all!

Though the air con is not that big of a deal because the pool is fantastic. It big, clean and a good temperature with lots of sun chairs around it. One strange catch was you had to wear a bathing cap which you can buy there for 3euro.

WiFi was very good!

I would recommend Montespina for a stay, very relaxing!

Fantastic hotel for any type of stay

My wife and I chose the Montespina Park Hotel for our honeymoon hotel. We couldnt have asked for more. Very clean room, fantastic food (especially the breakfast) and an amazing pool! We would recommend this hotel to anyone needing to stay in the area. It is perfectly located just a short taxi ride away from Naples, and if you are holidaying its a short drive to the nearest beaches. We were very impressed with everything. The staff were extremely friendly, and the rooms were always so clean. Whether you are looking to stay for business, holiday, or like us honeymoon it has everything. We have no hesitation in recommending this hotel, and if we ever return to Naples, we will be staying at Montespina.

Lovely resort hotel.

We had an enjoyable stay at the Montespina resort in early July. The staff were extremely pleasant and always ready to help. The pool was a decent size for the resort and always clean and tidy each day. The pool was only open from 10am - 6pm which was a little limiting when you're sightseeing in the day. The breakfast buffet had a good selection of hot and cold food and was always stocked no matter what time you arrived.

We found the dinner menu to be a little lacking in choice and also quite expensive. We were a little disappointed that they didn't offer any pizza on the menu, especially considering we were staying in Naples.

The hotel itself is situated atop a hill which gives it a nice secluded feeling and is very private. The surrounding areas are quite run down and sometimes feel a little unsafe (particularly at night). However, there are various restaurants around especially if you head down into the town. The train is also relatively close (15 min walk from the hotel) and offers an extremely cheap way to get into Naples. The train takes around 30 mins to get into Naples and once there you have access to all the major transport links to places such as Sorrento, Pompeii, Herculaneum and Rome.

I can't believe it can stay open

My wife and I spent 3 nights there at the end of August 2012. It was strange. The hotel was empty and the only night we dined in we were the only people in the dining room. We stayed there because we didn't want to stay in the centre of Naples and we wanted a pool. The pool was first class and much of the time we were the only users. The hotel's location is awful - it is nowhere and we saw nowhere (shops, restaurants, etc# which we felt we could visit. But - we had a car, parking was no problem and our sat nav took us to other parts of Italy when we left Montespina Park. At the end of our holiday we visited Naples city centre and - if you have a car - it's a plce to be avoided. So, take the advice of the experts #which we didn't) :
- don't drive in Naples
- stay somewhere near the waterfront or the Royal Palace.

An oasis

An oasis hidden in a city that does not look like it had any attractions at all. The surrounding area is slumlike compared to the hotel grounds. It was very pleasurable to stay at this hotel. I would highly recommend it for anyone looking to just relax.

Great hotel - would come again!

Fantastic stay in this hotel. Enjoyed the peace and quiet, away from the hustle and bustle of Naples. Room was big and was kept clean and tidy every day. Staff were great - all very friendly and accomodating. Swimming pool was great too and because it was mid Sept it was very quiet. We had a car and so getting to and from it was easy - lots of secure parking space too! Would thoroughly recommend this hotel to friends and family and will certainly come again! Thanks

Nous avons séjourné au Montespina Park Hôtel après notre road trip dans les Pouilles. L’hôtel est très isolé : aucun commerce ni restaurant à proximité, et il est assez loin du centre historique ainsi que des transports en commun. On est pratiquement obligé de souper sur place. Payer 25 € pour des pâtes carbonara ou bolognaises, c’est un peu exagéré. De plus, l’établissement empêche les livraisons de restaurants extérieurs.

Notre chambre était située très loin de la réception, il fallait prendre deux ascenseurs pour y accéder. L’endroit était sombre et donnait une impression un peu « sketchy ». C’était peut-être un hôtel 4 étoiles il y a 15 ans, mais ce n’est plus le cas aujourd’hui. L’établissement semblait d’ailleurs presque désert. Le personnel n’est pas accueillant.

Nous avions réservé une chambre avec mezzanine et avons dû changer de chambre cause travaux… la seule chose que j’ai vue est qu’ils ont repeint et je pense qu’ils auraient pu attendre deux jours de plus ! Malheureusement notre chambre donnait du côté rue et c’était très bruyant. La literie est très bonne mais certaines chambres auraient effectivement besoin d’un rafraîchissement. On mange très bien au restaurant de l’hôtel et le service est très professionnel et aux petits soins

4 stjerner er ikke retvisende. Meget tynde vægge, hvor det larmer hver gang naboværelset skylder ud eller har tændt for vandhanen. Et minikøleskab som er ubrugeligt og lige så varmt som resten af rummet.

Desuden nogle receptionister, som har problemer med at finde smilet frem.

En fin nok oplevelse, men også en 3 stjernet oplevelse og 3 stjernede faciliteter.

Hôtel à 10’ à pied d’une gare - vs serez dsle centre de Naples en 15´. Très pratique et loin de l’agitation napolitaine. L’hotel est un peu vieillissant mais la litterie est très bonne, très bon petit dejeuner également, et grande piscine au calme pour se relaxer en fin de journée. Personnel serviable et services de qualité. Je recommande pour visiter Naples et la côte pour son calme et son service.

Nice hotel with awesome pool!

Really nice hotel, very friendly staff, great breakfast (compared to Italian standard). The pool is awesome.
Only minus is the location compared to the center of Napoli. Difficult to get a taxi and the trains are unstable. So commuting to the center takes time, costs taxi fares and is troublesome.

Denkelijk een van de betere hotels in Napels, maar er is gebrek aan personeel om alles in orde te houden. Er is ons zonder probleem een andere kamer aangeboden na vaststelling verschillende gebreken.

Nice hotel with excellent service

I was there solo just to see a concert at the nearby stadium on the way to join a group after a few days. The stadium was about a 40 minute walk from the hotel. The hotel itself was spacious with two restaurants and the food was excellent, which was good as there are few options around the hotel in close walking distance. Lots of families enjoying the large pool and pool restaurant and bar. The two front desk people were very helpful with anything I needed.

The hotel is outsider The city - you Can radialt Go by metro or taxi. The pool area is very nice and so are the outside area in front of the hotel and restaurant. But parts of The hotel is quite run down. Our room the cracks in the bathroom and ants on the floor.

Rien a dire sur l hotel.Tout etait corrrect et le personnel tres gentil. L hotel n est pas tres loin de Naples mais le seul hic c est que le dernier train pour revenir a l hotel est a 21h30 voire 21h...et ca c est franchement penible quand vous voulez vous deplacer en transport en commun.

Prettig hotel en goede service met vriendelijk personeel. Ontbijt is goed en je kan meer dan voldoende krijgen. Locatie op rustige plek wat wel betekent dat je een flink stuk naar de te trein moet lopen en in ong. 20 min. in het centrum bent. Heerlijk zwembad en ligbedden.

Unterkunft: viel Potential und Möglichkeit, aber leider fehlt die Liebe zum letzten Detail. Es wirkt etwas heruntergekommen und alt. Es wirkt alles verblasst und es fehlt manchmal der Anstrich.
Zimmer: das erste Zimmer im Nebengebäude hatte so dünne Wände, dass man jedes Wort des Nachbarn hörte. Nach Beschwerde könnten wir in ein Apartment umziehen. Hier war es ruhiger und angenehmer, Vorfällen da wir nun eine Terrasse hatten. Türklinke im Bad quietschte, Nachbarn hörte man auch und die Wändee wiesen jede getötete Mücke auf.
Frühstück: Angebot gut und ausreichend. Für einen längeren Aufenthalt wird es langweilig, da es keine Abwechslung gibt. Qualität eher gering, z.B. keine frischgepressten Säfte (zuckerreicher Saft aus Tetrapack)oder immer nur Rührei.

Lovely stay at great location with friendly people

Great location for holiday in the area. Relatively close to the Centre of Naples (by car and public transport) and close to great sights in Baia, Pozzuoli and Posillipo. In 10 minute walk of 24/7 Supermarket. Within 40 minutes in Pompeï and 50 minutes in Amalfi coast area (by Car). Hotel has great service (every day fresh linnen, friendly people) and area is safe and has much space. Breakfast is perfect. Grazie mille!
