We actually stayed Sat 8/23/25 - Wed 8/27/2025 . This was a mini vacation for me and my Son who starts college next week. When we checked in at 3pm we were given a room on the first floor and kindly asked for a room on the second floor and they were able to accommodate us, which was great.

There was no filter running in the pool it was dirty, moldy and black around the edges. Around the pool the tiles were broken and dirty. All the pool chairs were also broken and dirty.

Covienently located near the beach. The air conditioner screens were horribly dirty which made us sick. We cleaned them ourselves. People smoked cigarettes and Marijuana outside on the deck. Our room smelled of these as it was being brought in by the air conditioner. The room was super bright at night, not enough window covering.

Got the room for the jet tub could not use unsafe bottom of if broken unsafe. Woken up multiple times after 12 am due to the people downstairs partying call front desk no answer police came shut it down. First and last time staying here not worth the money or safe place

Overall it was a decent place. I really appreciated being allowed to use the parking associated with the room prior to check in time. But the beds were absolutely awful, sunken in and really hard.

Bare minimum for amenities. VERY small room. Staff is nice...pool was nice. Walking distance to everything - it's ALL right there. Bring your own shampoo and conditioner! They have Keurig coffee makers - that was good. Place called JJ's had excellent food - not all fried, fresh and well done. Best mashed potatoes I ever had and great cocktails at a decent price.

Television froze the whole time, replaced with another plug in service, then another TV, still didn't work. Due to a family member needing a TV to sleep it was frustrating. There were also very loud people in the room next door and the TV would have been nice to drown out their volume. Mildew and broken tiles in the bathroom and 1/2 a role of toilet paper. Dirty box springs. Location is ideal but be aware that the train travels by about 5 feet from your room. Staff were responsive.

Walking distance and close to EVERYTHING, food, beach, theme park, heated pool, a little run down but who cares so close to everything and rwas amazing. Reccomend and will stay again next time we are in the area.

Like- close to town! Dislike- I have booked other hotels and motels thru Travelocity and the rooms were a lot cleaner and nicer for half the price. The room we stayed in was not worth what we paid for. The hotel charged us an extra guest fee when the only people that stayed in the room was my husband and I and our son who is 19 and our daughter is 14 which I disclosed when I booked the room. One of the beds sank in when you sat on it. The floors were dirty - your feet were disgusting after walking on the floor- after a Shower. One of the ceiling tiles above the bed looked like it was ready to fall. The ceiling above the shower was gross- I am not sure what was on the ceiling but it looked gross. The air conditioner had rust on it and I have never stayed in a room that didn’t have a phone in it. Lastly, the refrigerator could use a little more cleaning. Overall, our stay was not a pleasant one and we are disappointed. Travelocity is my go to app when booking a hotel. We have always had great experiences until now!

Great location but everything else was terrible. The bed felt broken and the outside noise kept me from sleeping till 2am. You can hear everything from the train 30 feet from your room to the amusement park across the street and the constant flow of people outside your room.

This motel was okay for what we needed for the week. It most definitely needs ALOT of upgrades. First, no one at the front desk. Had to call him to come down from his room to check us in! It was clean for the most part. Housekeeping could do a better job staging especially with folding towels and putting them up in the towel holder provided. There was very limited kitchen utensils and pans to use in the kitchenette! It was a bare bones kind of hotel with a soda machine that didn’t work and an empty snack machine! The one thing that needs to be noted is the train that is directly behind the hotel about 40 feet! It is very loud and shakes the building when it buzzes by! Probably would not stay here again!! There are plenty of other choices in OOB better then this!!

A quick overnight to pick my daughter up from college, this was a reasonable choice in the off season, that also allowed us to be across from the beach and near shops. Some deferred maintenance in the unit and motel, but expected at the price paid. Friendly staff and comfortable bed. I would stay here again.

The room was smaller than expected but clean! For downfalls the bed was hard and the train going by 3 times throughout the “quiet time” set forward by hotel. We was awoken by the train whistle 3 times throughout the night…. However I should of known that the train track was located right behind the hotel! Overall our experience was pleasant!

Place is very shabby but reasonably clean. The only really terrible thing about the place is that it sits directly along the railroad tracks. Trains go by every few hours all night long. It was so bad all we could do was laugh and live out the scene from My Cousin Vinny.

Since it was my first time in this location, I didn't realize the shops/activities were closed on Tuesday - Monday being the Labor Day and we were scheduled to stay until Wednesday but there was nothing to do. So, I went before 10am on Tuesday to check out and was told there would be no refund for checking out early.

Parking was a nightmare. Vehicle was subjected to be scratched or dented due to the spaces tight in between vehicles, as well as having no place to park once you left and came back. The room appearance was very disappointing. Stains could be seen on the white towels and bed linen.

Biggest issue was the AC unit. It smelled like urine and was probably made in 1997. The whole place could use a makeover/update. The pool was an absolute disaster as well. Broken/missing tiles on pool perimeter and the water was very dirty. Otherwise, very clean room and close to beach access & amusement park. Invest in your property with basic updates and your guests won’t mind paying the rate you’re charging!

The Motel is Very rundown for starters. The blinds on the windows do nothing to shield the bright glaring lights outside the windows. The beds were old and lumpy, only one pillow per person. Given two towels and two tiny packets of shampoo for four people then told it would be a half hour until we could get two more towels to shower to get ready to go to dinner. The ice machine never had more than a cup of ice in it at any given time. There were hardly any outlets in the room we had to unplug things to plug our phone chargers in. The air conditioner barely works it felt damp and nasty in our room the entire stay. Dirty floors poor handyman work done in the rooms actually comical how bad the “repairs” are in these dated rooms. No blow drier no ironing board/iron in the room. Could actually see daylight from under the front door. Many reviews talked about the train loudness but an occasional train was the least of my worries with the amusement park in the front very loud. Its tempting to book for location to downtown but trust me

The property was not staffed 24 x 7, you had no phone in your room. No information on how to get extra towels, toilet paper. ect. also not enough parking and each spot was way to tight for bigger trucks, overall I will not stay here again and I would not recommend to anyone, The cost of this place did not meet up with the quality of the room, .

The nicest things I can say are that the air conditioner and refrigerator worked well. The TV did not work. The front desk said they would send someone up. Never happened. The room key had to be reprogrammed on 2 separate occasions. The bathroom faucet required the assistance of a powerlifter to turn it on. A train came by every hour during the night and shook the building and blared the horn. The parking spaces are so narrow, you can't get in without dinging the car next to you. They don't clean the room. They don't give you fresh towels. This place is 1 step above being a participant on the TV show survivor.

This year will be our last as we paid close to $1500 for 2 rooms for 2 nights and the rooms were in such a state of disrepair we seriously contemplated canceling and going home, but decided to stick it out for the two days due to how much money we had invested in the trip. In the 1st room, the bathroom was missing two of the three lightbulbs above the sink. There was a missing ceiling tile, leaving a large hole open to the rafters covered in spiderwebs. The second room was overrun by ants and spiders. The majority of the outlets did not work and the AC unit did not work well leaving the room very hot and humid for the entire weekend. I will add that the gentleman who checked us in was very pleasant and polite and was able to accommodate our request to have the 2 rooms we booked be next to each other. It is also worth mentioning that he was the only person at the front desk and after he checked us in, had to run down to our rooms to ensure they had been cleaned and we’re ready for us to check in, leaving everyone else in line there to wait until he finished.

We stayed at the Mt. Royal Motel for 2 nights and we really enjoyed our stay. Extremely well located with walking distance to the beach. Would recommend you bring earplugs as the Motel is right next to Palace PlayLand and can be noisy ! Other then that, we are really pleased and would come back next summer ! :)

We found bed bugs!!! I have videos and pictures. We never stayed! We slept in our car. Management is a bunch of kids.

Place was a dump. Manager was rude and horrible. Room was dirty worse than some bathrooms in a public place. Door looked like it was kicked in no safety latch. Mold and vent hanging from ceiling in bathroom. I would sleep in my car before sleeping in the room.

If you're at OOB for fun, this is a great little motel right where the action is! If you want peace and quiet don't stay at a motel sandwiched between a train station and an amusement park (duh).
