My friend and I went on a belated birthday girls trip for the weekend. The room was extremely spacious. The beds were very comfortable and smelled fresh. Our room had a small kitchette with a full size stove/oven, full size fridge and microwave. The room was a little dated but very clean. I feel like this would be a perfect spot for a family vacation since you could easily cook up a few meals right in your room. I would recommend Grand Beach Inn.

This is a cabin right next to the motel. My main interest was the kitchenette, but I came to love the feeling of seclusion and the hominess. The one day it rained I snuggled on the couch and listened to music. Beach is right across the street and I managed to get up early and watch the sun rise. Wonderful stay, attentive staff.

-Hotel was clean and great location. We only stayed one night so didn’t get to explore or experience it too much.

-Staff was very friendly at check in.

- Room was big and comfortable.

-Located right across the beach for quick access.

Cons:
- we paid extra for a balcony room which in our opinion was not worth it. Basically every room has a balcony anyway. And the balcony rooms all face into each other. Did not have an ocean view.

- there is SO much light that comes through the windows at night. The rooms only have blinds and no curtains. Even at 2 am it feels like you have every light on in the room but it’s the lights they have on outside. Made for a very sleepless night for our entire family who is used to sleeping in the dark.

- the pool was closed for the season when we got there to check in. A little disappointing that this is not something said at booking, since it is advertised as having a heated pool.

- Beds were also very noisy and creeked at the slightest movement.

We liked the location. The TV didn't work. I couldn't make the temp in the room so it was comfortable. It was either too hot or too cold. I chose to let it stay too hot because we had a baby with us. But that meant mht husband and i could not sleep. Rubber were a group of men outside in front of our room at 12:30AM. They were fooling around locking and unlocking their car door so it would beep.i certainly don't blame the facility for that. It was just aggravating.

This place was terrible. The mattresses were so worn that my husband and I both ended up with back aches. We ate at the restaurant on the property and although the food was good, I ended up in bed for almost two days with food poisoning. They state free Wi-Fi, but they must have bad routers because the signal does not reach the rooms. When I mentioned this to the office staff they stated that they do have Wi-Fi but it randomly works. This would have been fine, I could live without Wi-Fi for a week but i had made a commitment to do work during the week and now my boss is not going to be happy. I was told I could bring all my work down and sit near the office in order to get my work done. The place is very run down. It does have potential but it looks like the owner likes to save a buck. We have been visiting OOB for the past 30 years and this was the worse place we have ever stayed.

The beach is right across the street! This place is a healthy walk from all the action. This means it has a sweet spot on the beach that isn’t crowded and has the pretty, soft sand. There is a frequent $2 shuttle to the pier, restaurants and palace playland. There’s a bar/restaurant downstairs with music. We did not feel noise was an issue in our 3rd floor spot. As far as cleanliness, the staff is always around cleaning. It appears many rooms have been renovated. Ours was but it’s a hotel by the beach at a reasonable price, so it’s not a fancy pristine place but it’s pleasant. Beds were soft enough, new mattresses. We brought our 9 month old Havanese and there were spots for walking him. Others had dogs at the outdoor restaurant, not too many, just a couple here and there.

Not the ideal place to vacay!!!

My Husband and I booked the room for the weekend because it was our 10th year wedding anniversary. The location was perfect for us, however the motel staff shut our keys to the room down an hour before (check-out at 10am), so we had to get the keys reactivated just to get back in the room to get the rest our belongings, so it was inconvenient asfar as that goes. But other that that, they were friendly or at least the cleaning staff were, but I wouldn't book again for this place if it were the only available place to stay...

Overall was looking to sorta save on money since it was only a single night away, definitely paid for what I got. Got placed in a room on the third floor. The outside walkway on the third floor had low spots/divits with cones on them and caution tape on the railing. The room itself wasn’t terrible but the lights did not work, the beside table lamp and alarm clock were not plugged in simply because there were no outlets behind the table/beds. The bed mattresses sank in the middle when you laid on them and the shower head had a very weak pressure. The upside was the pool and the little bar/restaurant area although they were always packed. Would stay again but definitely would pay for anything other than the standard room

While the rooms were spacious and overall the value for the price was good, there were minor inconveniences that disrupted our stay. First off, we did not get to check in on time because our room was not ready. There was a dying battery in the key mechanism causing it to set off an alarm. The refrigerator was not working and had to be repaired. The most frustrating aspect was the exterior lights to the complex that remained on all night. It was so bright in our room that I was unable to sleep most evenings. A sleep mask helped slightly.

Nothing about this hotel stands out. While the employees are nice the accommodations are meh.
Dated, spares and in need of a serious updating and revamp. Close access to the beach and shuttle buses.
Bed was like a granite slab. Furnishings looked like something from a dorm room.
If you are just looking for a place to crash it is ok. Do not expect anything other than the basics.

We liked the evening concerts which we could watch from our balcony. The room could be better equipped with hangers, a luggage holder, a small microwave. Also, the shower outside the pool wasn’t working, so at the very least a hose should have been set up for beach people to rinse off before using the pool, I saw several get in all sandy from the beach. Nice, clean soft towels and sheets.

Food at the restaurant was good. Bed comfort was not good, pillows were uncomfortable and they were not queen beds as stated. The outdoor lights were too bright and you had no control to shut the outdoor light off which made the room too bright. There was not enough lighting in the room to read or anything similar at night. Also there were no outdoor chairs where our room was located. Ice machine was not working our whole stay. Pool was shut down for most of the day on one of the days and the temperature in the pool was too hot when operating. The pool was also very small and falling apart. They did not clean our room, make the beds daily, or replenish coffee k cups/toiletries.

The only positive thing is it's close to the beach and theres parking. But for the rest it was a very bad experience, beds are uncomfortable, the futon mattress is impossible to sleep on it you feel all the futon metal in your back, mattress is finished. They dont mention that its a none smoking property, you have to smoke outside their territory. Ice machine doesn't work, they told me to go buy , theres a depanneur not far instead of offering a solution. There was 6-7 dead insect's right beside the bed and the futon was full of dog hair. I'll stop here...and let you discover the rest if you book there!

When we arrived we immediately noticed a musty smell in our room, the ceiling tiles in the bathroom were falling down, hinges on bathroom door coming off. We went immediately to the office and there were no other rooms available. We were told someone would come the next morning to fix ceiling tiles no one showed. We went back again and the gentleman at the desk came himself to fix the tile which too over an hour and a half. Very disappointing

We booked a balcony room. It was on the third floor, and there were no elevators. Folks with mobility issues should be aware of this when booking.

Our room had 2 double beds. One of them was very uncomfortable; it felt like the springs were poking through. It turned out the mattress was on upside down! We were thankfully able to flip it.

The room was spacious with basic amenities, but lacked things like coat hooks or a closet. It was really clean except for the floor, which felt sandy from the start.

My biggest complaint is that the property is lit up like an airport runway all night long. The room had blinds but no curtains, so our room was never dark. I ended up having to buy a sleep mask to be able to sleep in the room.

Despite all of the above, we would stay here again. The proximity to the beach was fantastic (right across from a public access street). The pool on the property was also great. While we didn't eat at the on-site restaurant, it was frequently busy and the food I spotted there looked good.

This property is ok. It is a little i er a mile to get to the playland & arcades but 2 minutes to beach access. However, the stove did not work, the toilet did not flush well & there was only one i e machine & it did not work. The pool is small but clean but the pavement around pool was sandy & not swept at all. The bed pillows are very small. Not the comfort I am use to.
I would not recommend this property.

1st impression looks nice on the outside ..clean- has a pool, little bar area.. but that's where it ends sort of ...you have a suite on the 3rd floor..guess what no elevator..hump up all the luggage...ok get in the room \"looks\" nice , renovated maybe new flooring, paint (the lipstick) as we get settled in things are a bit \"off\" like the night stand power, maybe the plug is bad yup and missing the cover plate which has the mattress pushed right up to an open circuit. but wait there's more. we asked for 2 queens these are like twins at best..what? ok then put the kids on the pullout sleeper, mom on 1 twin & dad on the other.. sat down to take off shoes and the box spring collapses to the floor ..you cant make this stuff up.. on both beds the box springs are broken cracked unbelievable (imagine kids jumping)..the last few items are the missing escutcheon on the sprinklers (cover plates) & the fire alarm was disconnected and hanging by the wire from the ceiling. Also, no secondary door safety latch non Electronic the overall back off house needs a lot of common sense upkeep the door to enter the stairs had a pile of trash right in front see all the pictures

This was our second time staying here, overall it was a great stay because of the location but there were a few things that were upsetting. The ice machine was down all 5 days we were there which is super inconvenient especially when we needed ice for the beach. Second, the WiFi never worked it doesn’t reach the second floor and they replaced the couch in the suite to a small, cheap futon. Luckily, we only needed the king bed because the futon would never be comfortable to sleep on never mind sit on.

I loved that the beach was in walking distance. I loved that they had someone singing at pool during supper time. I only got to hear him sing for a short period as i was leaving. Wished i could have stayed to listen a bit longer. They had a basic kitchen but missing some supplies. You had to ask for a toaster as not all kitchen have one?? Had to improvise for a strainer and oven mitts, scissors but overall was great. I'm sure if i had asked, the staff was more than pleasant to assist you with anything. Room was spacious. I would come back being so close to the beach and only a 30 mins walk to the pier, if you dont want to take your car.

The Wi-Fi STILL doesn't work here - I had an important Zoom meeting and ultimately switched to another hotel..This place has so much exterior lighting it's insane, the amount of rodent size moths / insects flying around made me pass on sitting out on the balcony at night (no way to turn off balcony light). The room was \"clean\" but the whole place needs a serious update / over hall. It could have potential if the owners actually put some money into the place.

The hotel is old and showing signs of needing major improvements. The furniture is old and shabby. More like yard sale finds than what you expect to find in a hotel. AC is only in one room and in our room would not cool the bedroom. Don't expect more than the bare minimums.

The only good thing with the place is that it is near the beach and another hotel that has a tiki bar on the beach. Other than that, it was dirty, tiles in the bathroom are broken and there’s no grout. The tub had mold and somebody else’s hair. The mattress was horrible, you could feel spring poking into you. The staff was not great as well.

This was a great place to stay for our trip. My daughter loved the pool, and short walk to the beach! The little Bistro connected to the hotel made eating dinner easy. Didnt know that the room had a stove, full size fridge and sink, plus all the dishware and silverware ya would need. Had i known that i would've cooked a little bit, but next time i will. The staff was friendly, and rooms were super clean. The hotel is farther down OOB, and the beach was less crowded and flatter going down to the water. I would definitley reccomend this hotel to simple people and families with kids :) Also has a trolley stop that will take you down to the Pier and strip! Thanks for a great place to stay

Rented a king suite for 6 people. Room and hotel space was wonderful. Right near the beach. Be aware if you drive in more than one car we were not able to get a second parking spot and had to park 1.2 miles away in an overnight lot for $80 a night. Extremely frustrating as the parking was clearly not enforced with numerous cars not displaying the parking sheet we were given for our one car.

We were supposed to have a bigger room and they switched us to 2 adjoining rooms due to issues. The AC in 1 room didn’t work. They tried to fix and couldn’t till next day. I have asthma . Luckily we could leave the other room open for some air. Still stuffy though. The tv in other room didn’t work. The cable line just went in wall like a spring. That had to be fixed next day as well. I asked for more towels for both rooms and 1 room wasn’t even touched. No towels no, cleaning. With so many issues I asked if there would be a discount at check out. The manager yelled out no so I would hear. I can have a 10% if I come back. I will never go back! The outside looks beautiful, but they need to spend some money on the rooms. The shower had chips in it, the other shower had terrible shower head. The beds were old and stained. This place would be fine if it was cheaper. You get what you pay for. The plus of this place is the nice, quiet beach is right across road and so close!

The heated pool is very nice. There should be a spray off area outside for people to rinse their feet off after going to the beach. Grills were listed on the website, but they were no where to be found.

We travel to OOB every summer, and we stay at a different place almost every time. I guess we are still looking for a favourite. This place was clean, the staff was friendly. Our room was in good condition overall, except the mattresses. They were the worst I’ve ever slept on in a hotel. So sagging in the middle that the edges were up higher than the rest of the mattress. Great for keeping little kids from rolling out of bed, since they couldn’t roll over the humps without some effort 😂 The location is great for the beach, you just have to cross the street. But if you want to be close to the pier and palace playland, it’s a long walk. It took us about 40 mins to walk it, but that was with small children. It’s a pet friendly hotel, which is great if you have a dog. We had a friendly dog neighbour. Overall we won’t stay here again, mainly because it’s so far from the action, and because many of the beds are old.

Wish it was better

Check in went ok in the beginning. Then maybe a hour or two after we checked in around like 8pm my phone kept ringing was the hotel calling me I answered the first time and said they didn't call me, the 2nd time was just dead air and the 3rd time it was a man asking for my card information which i left at time of check in and i guess they didn't save it. When i was trying to talk to the person he was rude and cutting me off. Mind you we were at the pier at this time and there was a lot of background noise. I was trying to explain it to the caller but he wasn't very happy something about needing to print a report out. Sorry that isn't my fault I gave the information to the person at check in. Then when we got back to our room around 9:30pm a fuse blew. called the office twice, waited 20 minutes then had to call again. Again they seemed like we were a inconvenience to them.
Wifi wasn't working for anything
Was an ok stay but really was hoping for a little better especially what we paid nightly.

House keeping provided an excellent service, no issues. Area was quiet and peaceful environment. Quick access to beach. And transportation was available with trolley service. A bistro with bar was available if interested. Overall I enjoyed my stay.
