Hotel is in a great location, right on the river. Had an evening meal and breakfast there and the food was very good.
Room was ok… bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was a bit shabby… paint peeling off the walls, lots of black mould on the bottom of the shower door and it smelt of damp, probably due to the poor drainage of the shower.

Room was dirty, after reporting shower was not operating, nothing was done. The hotel needs the rooms painting, new carpets, and stop hiding behind its an old building. Breakfast should have been included in the price of the room not pay extra for breakfast, it was not cheap to stay there.

Dirty small room. Arrived to a tiny car park, which was full and no where to park. Another guest came out and asked if we were staying at the hotel. We said yes, and the person said ‘I would stay somewhere else’ and walked off. We went into the pub and asked where we could park, one of the staff said ‘park on double yellow lines nearby, you’ll only get fined after 10am.’ Went up to see the room, last straw, it was small and dirty. We decided we couldn’t stay and left. Hotel staff wouldn’t refund any money when we requested compensation, although we never spent more than 5 minutes in the room. Looked like a nice area, pity about this hotel.

Pros: Lovely cottage if you're looking for a quaint, cozy, inn experience. Cottage was clean and neat (except for the carpeting). Perfectly located, right in the town centre. Food was awesome, prepared well & tasty, lots of options. Hostesses/waitresses were very attentive, accomodating & helpful.

Cons: Carpeting was obviously old, worn and stained (really needs to be removed). No refrigerator in the room. Upon check-in I wasnt told that the restaurant would not be open to non-guests for breakfast and that there is a back door through which I should enter. This very little but important detail seems to be overlooked for guests who aren't staying in the main building. This, therefore, had me walking around the building trying to figure out how to get to breakfast, until I saw another guest exiting through said door.

The property was very well situated the rooms were understanding small, but the room was nit as clean as i could have been. The breakfast was very good but some if yhe evening meals totally unacceptable. The jacket potatoes were served still frozen in the middle. The staff were very good and we were not charged for this meal. That being said it was still not good.

The room, especially the bathroom was in very poor condition. Overall the hotel was grubby. Bathroom was very small and unclean, lights were rusty, paint peeling off.
Bedroom was right above the kitchen and the extra fit fan kept up awake. Went off around 11pm but was back on before 7am. Floorboards around the hotel very noisy so got woken up when other guests were moving around their room or in the corridor.

Note to business travellers, breakfast is served from 8am until 10am so if you need a relatively early start (as I did) you might have to give breakfast a miss.

Really nice little hotel in a very old building. Room was warm and comfortable but cobwebs all over the wooden beams on the ceiling look like they've been there for a long time. Hallway smelled damp & frosty.
Breakfast next morning was good and the staff were very friendly. Would recommend to anyone staying in the local area, the village is beautiful and well worth a visit.

Listen - I gave this Inn FIVE stars... not because it's a \"five star\" hotel, but because it is EXACTLY what I was expecting... but even better. It's an old Inn in England, so it has creaky floors and low doorways and small bathrooms... BUT IT IS THE MOST DELIGHTUL and quaint property. The restaurant was delicious for both dinner and breakfast. It's in the heart of everything in Bourton-on-the-Water.

I would love to give a good review for this hotel but we ended up staying in a small cottage around the back of the main building. It was clean but extremely tired and in need of major modernisation. I understand that we paid a premium for its location but considering the quality of the accommodation, I’m very surprised that they have such good reviews, especially considering the price we paid. I can only assume that this is down the quality of the food and not the accommodation.

Charming little hotel in a beautiful setting, with welcoming and hard working staff. Our attic room (two twin beds) was cute and surprisingly roomy. Only downside: the shower was squeezed into such a confined space that it was impossible to move without the shower curtain clinging to you, hitting your forehead on the shower head, and/or spraying all over the floor.

The hotel itself could benefit from some modern decoration. The room was ok but needed a little more care with paint chips on the walls. The shower was nice but there were one or two mold patches there which you don't expect for the price. The wifi was frankly inadequate and needs improving. The food in the restaurant was ok for it's type and was tasty. The breakfast was nice although it took a long time to arrive. It would be better if we could serve ourselves with coffee or if the wait staff topped us up without having to request it.

Stayed here 1 night in January. Warm welcome from check-in staff. Location is obviously fantastic. We couldn’t park on site (only about 8 spaces) but were advised to park in the Royal British Legion for £3 a day and about a 5 to 10 minute walk.

Nice room, stylish decor, comfortable bed (slept well), and fairly sizable though en-suite very small and verging on unpractical; radiator right next to the toilet so you can burn yourself while you go, and the shower cubicle door opens outwards and hits the sink, can see this being a safety issue in future. When next refurbishing, consider expanding the size of the en-suite a little.

The main radiator in room 8 didn’t work. An electric radiator was provided as an alternative, but for over £85 a night I would expect all facilities to be in working order.

We had our evening meal at the hotel. The food was good for quality and portions, but this was an expectation since it is pricier than other pubs in Bourton.

Overall, a pleasant stay - thank you to all the staff that made it happen.

No parking available, contrary to listing. WiFi connectivity is nil. Connection to “The Cloud” lasts for 45 seconds before it disappears. Then you have to reboot all over again.
Room is nice, clean, and funky. Low ceilings. Bathroom tub fixtures come off but go back on. Good hot water.

Not an Easy Place to find - nightmare parking!

The hotel is not easy to find and parking is even more difficult. Even though we arrived at the start of the check-in 'window', all of the on-site parking was already taken and we had to park on the street which was some way from the hotel and carry our luggage a long way. The hotel then told us we could stay in the British Legion car park which was even further away. I'm not sure how official this arrangement was and we felt obliged to donate £5 to the charity.

Beautiful stay in a beautiful place!

We booked a room for 1 night, and were welcomed by lovely smiley faces and a beautiful chocolate box setting. Our room was on the top floor overlooking the river. Beautifully decorated and full of character with original features and a fab shower room. Booked in for dinner and breakfast and were not disappointed at all. A huge menu choice and the food was delicious!

The building itself was gorgeous, and right on the river with all amenities in walking distance. However the room was very basic but had everything in it for a pleasant stay. The radiator in the bedroom wasn't working but subsidised with an electric heater which warmed the room quickly. The staff were pleasant and the food great! Using my Blue light card had us 20% off the bill. I will definately return to a Greene King property.

We booked this hotel for a little family get-together booked three rooms. I saw all three of them they were small decorated nicely they each have the old world country charm, duck wallpaper, wood furniture.
Perfect location right on the water in Burton Next door to the vintage car museum.

There is an outside patio but it was too cold and closed during November when we were there.

We took advantage of the bar and dinner and enjoyed both the service was fabulous the staff all seemed to be youngsters but very eager and
friendly & hard-working.

We would definitely stay here again the price was right, location is perfect it was warm and cozy everything you want in old world charm.

The staff were very friendly, & managed to get us a table at very short notice in the restaurant.
The room is cosy- it’s tidy/ clean and has everything you need. The shower could be a bit more powerful, but that’s personal choice.

Lovely country property in a fantastic setting. Having recently just opened up some of the new staff were a bit rusty but nothing that bothered us. A bit of patience was needed at times but the stay was pleasant and comfortable. Food was good and very reasonable. Car park was limited but managed to get spaces in small car park.

This Hotel has an excellent location. The food is good and the Staff service excellent. The only downside is that some of the decor appears ‘ a bit tired ‘ and a new stair carpet would help. That said the rooms are clean, albeit the attic rooms get a bit hot overnight. Overall a good place to stay within this price range.
