This family-run hotel, a former 15th-century coaching inn, exudes traditional charm with its antique pine and dark oak furnishings, wallpaper, and carpets. Some rooms offer more contemporary decor.
Located in the heart of a bustling Cotswold market town, the hotel is a minute's walk from restaurants, a charming theatre, and a boutique cinema. Please note there is no elevator/lift and the swimming pool is currently unavailable.

This was a great experience. Highly recommend. The hotel provides an actual stepping back in time experience, where you feel like family. The food is good, and the pub is fun. The train was a couple block away, with direct access to London. Windsor Palace very close, it felt very safe.

This is a very cozy motel on a very charming street. Prime location to the train station and the Castle. The staffs are warm and helpful. We love the breakfast!
The only thing I complain is we booked room 2 from Expedia for higher charge because its description stated it has a king size bed. However, the room is also labeled as a double room and there is no king size bed. I hope Expedia's description is more accurate!

Steer clear of this place if you’re looking for lodging. This is not a charming old world pub/inn. It’s a dingy, LOUD, smelly, hideously decorated dump.

Presumably original wooden beams painted with GLOSSY black. Ridiculous “modern” furniture, nude sketches in frames on the walls. You can hear every conversation from the street (room 3) and pub and every footstep. Hot water in shower intermittent. Couldn’t wait to get out of this dump!

Lovely little place that is in the perfect location for Windsor. The parking is very handy and the breakfast was nice.
The only down side was it wasn't the most comfiest bed I have slept in but the parking and breakfast made it very good value for money.

It's 600 years old! We chose it because we wanted to walk to Windsor Castle and not pay a fortune. The Crown and Cushion is in Eton and is three doors from the bridge to Windsor, which put us 5 minutes from the Castle, quieter and at an afforable rate. Also walking distance from Eton College. We loved the experience.

Love the location, and that there is parking available. Stairs to rooms are a bit steep but manageable and not too many of them. Lovely clean room overlooking the street below. It can be a little noisy (i didnt mind it) but the hotel does thoughtfully provide earplugs. There is a seperate entrance for anyone staying so you dont have to access via the pub. Breakfast is 8-9am and very nice with a hood choice. Ive stayed here twice now , both time involving a trip to windsor racecourse for a day at the races and will be back again in the future. Note you can walk to the racecourse on about half an hour if you choose to.

The house is very old, which brings along the usual symtoms (wooden floorsunder the okd carpets, in the summer warm and sticky, lower water pressure). Due to the pub it can get quite noisy. The food was ok but not thrilling. Overall, it‘s the closeliness to Windsor castle as well as the parking and breakfast included in the price and the very nice staff that make it an unbeatable offer.

Read some other reviews of this hotel with utter bemusement. Its a 250 year-old building and some complain about uneven floors and steep staircases. IT'S A 250 YEAR-OLD BUILDING! If you want a plastic office-block of a hotel, go elsewhere. (Also a special shout-out to the lady moaning that her coathangers didnt match each other, get over yourself princess). The building is lovely and quirky. Bags of character. Price of room included breakfast and parking right behind the building, so is very good value for money. Stayed there before, and will stay there again. Great place.

We really appreciated the great location and the extremely friendly staff, which made a positive impact on our stay. However, the condition of the property significantly affected our overall experience. The stairs felt unsafe, and the room we stayed in was noticeably unlevel — to the point where even our bag wouldn’t sit properly on the holder. One wall was peeling and damp, the chairs needed a thorough cleaning, and the pillows on the bed (both king and queen) were unfortunately dirty. While the service was commendable, the state of the room brings the rating down to a 7 or 8 at best.

Loved the place. It’s really centrally placed for Windsor and Eton. The staff, food and rooms are lovely. Our bed was super comfy and the room had the unique feel you’d expect from a very old hotel. We had a special bay window looking over Etons high street and this made the room even more unique. If you want something different from a chain and the dullness that this brings give the place a go

Used as a base for rugby at Twickenham and it worked well with free parking and a two minute walk to the station then 25 mins to Rugby. Bar closes early on a Sunday but we found other places to eat and drink.

Our room was lovely and spacious but unfortunately, although advertised as a quiet room, it was extremely noisy as over the bar. The voices and laughter carried up into the room and we could see why we had most considerately been given ear plugs! Luckily it went quiet at 11 p.m.
Very convenient having a car park round the back. The stairs were pretty tricky to climb but we helped up with our cases. It was a lovely breakfast in the morning.

It’s a terrible hotel. Location is five star. Other than that, front door is locked till noon, need to go through back door. Check out is 10:30am and there is no lobby area to stay. There is no lift nor staff to help for the luggage. I will never visit again.

Bitten in bed.
I stayed in room one and during the night I could feel myself being bitten. I called the hotel on my home as there was only a chef about when I left and informed them that I had been bitten 5 times during the night so they may want to get the room checked out, the lady I spoke to said she pass this information to the managers and I should expect an email. Unfortunately I haven’t heard from them.

Kitchen did a fine job with food offerings for both dinner and breakfast. The staff are phenomenal in making sure your needs are met. Pack light as you will need to navigate stairs, which can be a challenge with a heavy bag.
