The staff here was amazing so I hate to give a be star but the bedding was dirty and torn. I reported it immediately and showed photos. Nothing was done. I went online as they offer a guarantee and they kept asking more and more information. They didn’t wish to solve the problem. I doubt bedding had been changed from previous guest. Comforter had holes from some one I guess smoking and burning a hole and sand inside bed at bottom.

So I asked the man at Reception where I could get two bottles of water. His answer was: \"You should have asked for water when you first checked in.\"

After that, he continued: \"If we gave every guest two free bottles of water, Marriott would go bankrupt.\"
For starters, I am quite certain that Marriott can afford the cost of two 16oz bottles of water - estimated to be around 50 cents - for its guests. Maybe Motel 6 can't.

Upon checking in, I was told I could not pay CASH for my room. The manager was very rude when I replied that cash is legal tender and accused me of raising my voice and she would have me thrown out!!! Apparently the Fairfield Hotels have had the policy of not accepting cash for about 5 years. This policy should be clearly stated in their posting on Expedia as I could not find any evidence there. Having travelled for the previous 5 weeks around Ireland and the U.S., I was never refused paying cash by the hotels where I stayed and one was also a Fairfield. I called the Fairfield here in Mississauga where I live and the young lady was very helpful but confirmed her chain of Fairfield hotels do not accept cash! She was very understanding and said the manager in Corning NY should not have been so rude and should have accepted cash for just this one time with the warning to use a plastic card next time!!!

On the plus side, the room was clean, the bed first-rate, and the bathroom/shower well-appointed. The property is only a few minutes from the Corning Glass Museum and the attractive \"Gafffer\" historic downtown restaurant and shopping district. On the downside, the road noise was noticeable and distracting and the breakfast area loud and cramped. Perhaps most important, the internet service is slow and balky; it was down completely for one of the two evenings of our stay, with the front desk staff either unwilling or unable to help.

The most important thing to me is that the hotel room is clean, which it was for my visit. The bathroom had a nice shower (no tub) with sliding door. Not sure about other rooms. Room area was quiet even though my room was located on the first floor inside close to the front entrance. Breakfast was good, but coffee creamer selection was not (hazelnut creamer wasn’t available in the morning). The indoor pool was very small.
