The hotel was lovely and so was the room but getting there was very hardwork. No information was given to us about a longtail being at the pier to get there which was crucial info. We checked the emails and the website and it doesn’t state that anywhere.

But I just want to stress the staff and hotel and rooms are beautiful.

The location is very good and the beaches were so beautiful and quiet. It's far from the centre of the island but with a 10/15 minutes walk you can reach it easily.
The bungalow was nice but we thought it could be cleaner.
We enjoyed the breakfast buffet, there were many good options.

The hotel is in a very nice location, offering a peaceful atmosphere while still being conveniently close to town. It’s about a 20-minute walk, or you can easily reach town by longboat, which adds a nice local touch to the experience. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily return.

The room was actually much more spacious than we expected, one of those rare occasions where reality is better than the photos online. However, I’m not sure if it was the proximity to the beach or the unusually rainy week we experienced, but the room had a persistent damp smell, as if it hadn’t been aired out for a while or the bedding hadn’t fully dried.

Another point to note is the hotel’s location. It’s a solid 25–30 minute walk from town, and we were under the impression that they offered regular free boat transfers. That’s not the case. They provide one complimentary transfer at check-in and another at check-out, but beyond that, each boat ride (if one is available) costs 150 Baht per person. This became a real issue for us because the heavy rain meant there wasn’t much to do around the hotel, so we often ended up walking nearly two hours each day to get to town. While the path is mostly paved and lit, it’s full of ups and downs and quite a few stairs, so it can be tiring.
Breakfast was just average.
The staff speaks English, but only to a very limited degree.

Very unique and creative place. Cottages nestled in the trees connected by footpaths. You should be in good shape to stay here, walking up and down the paths is not for physically challenged. For us it was totally worth it to have the privacy of our suite and the beach. The beach there is the best part of the resort, and better than any resort we stayed at in Thailand. PhiPhi island is a magical place. The only downside is those damn long tail boats they are so loud.
Breakfast was good. Air con was fine. Staff good and helpful.

It's directly on the beach which is gorgeous and there is a hidden cove around the corner there is also easy access to Long Beach, so when the beach is in the shade you can go to Long Beach. You can use the accommodations canoe to go round the island to another gorgeous deserted beach. I like the fact the restaurant has sand underfoot. It feels quirky and authentic. The rooms are massive and the decor is very tasteful.

We were very happy to be upgraded! The room was very nice! We had a little toilet inconvenience but was was fixed immediately. Breakfast was good! Dinner was good (grilled fish and seafood!). Service was very nice and aimed to please! There is a 15 min walk to town if interested. We took a tour to the islands and was wonderful! Thank you!! 🙏

Over priced for the amenities or lack there of at this hotel. No pool, no gym, restaurant is mediocre at best and ridiculously expensive for Thailand, quality also not great. There is a boat that takes you to and from the main pier, but they don’t tell you that you have to pay for it until you check out and get ding with a big tab. Laundry was also outrageously expensive, also to note is that they lost my laundry, nowhere to be found when I went to pick it up.

This hotel was really good. It’s scenic, offers many amentities, but is wuite far from town (we walked 20-30min to and fro each time).

My review will primarily be about the hotel’s service though.

In the first room I stayed, the AC didn’t work. We think it started working but broke some time while sleeping. My friend and I were miserable and woke up in the middle of the night.

We brought our concerns to the hotel staff and they gave us a bigger and better room that also came with free breakfast.

I have no regrets staying at Viking Heritage Hotel

Our room was beautiful, large comfy bed, great shower, clean yet homely. My favourite part was the lovely outside balcony with large and d very comfortable hammock, it was worth paying the extra for this room type.
The location is great if you re happy to be be away from the main town, although we walked into town twice and found it a fairly easy and very pretty walk. I really liked being away from the hustle and bustle. Long beach is a short but steep walk away, this would be a nice place to stay, with some good snorkeling (we saw the black tip reef sharks t shark point) but not as pretty as Viking Resort bay.
The restaurant at the resort was better than I expected, not the best food ever but the fried rice was super tasty and prices not too high. Lots of choice at breakfast.
The staff were all pleasant and helpful.
Overall very happy with my choice to stay here and would recommend.

Omg an amazing hotel. Booked it for our honeymoon the staff is so dang sweet when we told them we were on our honeymoon they decorated our room with flowers! They gave us the best deals on excursions and it's a good location because it's close to the pier. Loved this hotel!

We were left waiting in the rain at Tonsai Pier for 45 minutes before our free shuttle boat arrived. Then transported very insafely by tractor trailer to the reception area where very unfriendly staff checked us in. The room we were given was 5 star, but entailed climbing lots of uneven steps. Beautiful surroundings, but unfortunately there is lots of rubbish scattered around the resort. The reception and dining area could do with a major revamp. Some small changes could turn this into a great resort.

Beautiful resort we stayed in the individual wooden huts with air conditioning. The menu is extensive and excellent value for money. Staff are friendly and very helpful, irs a 15 min walk along the coast path to the town which is pitch dark at night but there are water taxis all night long which cost very little. The only downside is that if you have a waterside room the motors from the taxi at night are noisy.

Viking Nature Resort is a lovely spot on Ko Phi Phi, close enough to the village for excursions & partying bit far enough away to be peaceful & relaxing.
Getting the boat to the hotel is fun and the porters carrying our bags in & our incl to the room are a credit to the hotel.
Food is good- mix of Thai food and some more International dishes, same for breakfast.
Bar service good- from cold Chang to fresh coconuts.
The place has a luxurious feel to it- lots of things are considered for the customer but is not 5 stay luxury - it’s rustic and you are close to nature. We saw bats, giant millipedes, stray cats & dogs (all very friendly) plus an array of birds and of course fish in the sea.
Sea is very shallow so safe for inexperienced swimmers and it’s a short walk / swim to adjacent Long Beach for more interest.
Boats can be arranged to take you to tonsai village and back. Likewise early morning scooters if you have an early excursion and you can have an excellent Thai massage out by the sea.
The hotel is let down on the cleanliness side- the beach beanbags are dropping pellets of foam on the sand and there is some rubbish - cigarette ends, straws etc that the customers leave clearly but the staff could clean up.
Otherwise, great hotel - would recommend.

This property is such an interesting place. I have to say the room you get can make or break your experience not just here but on the entire island.

First of all on arrival, it's actually quite well organized. You should have someone with a sign waiting on the pier with the name of the resort on a placard. Then you take a little longtail boat to the resort. The checkin process is quick easy and efficient and they have people who help take your bags to the room. The reason for this is because you'll have a quick jungle trek to your room of choice. We asked for a quiet room and probably got one of the best rooms on the resort since it was really close to love beach and it was a little isolated from the noise of the boats coming and going.

ONE thing that bears mentioning is that at this point you're probably going to wonder where the heck have you arrived and what are you going to do now. But the resort is actually very walkable if you ask staff. You can walk into town and also to long beach so you're not really cut off from the rest of the island. When we first arrived we had a bit of a sinking feeling but then once we realized it was easily walkable then we immediately felt much much better about our choice. IF you have any mobility issues though please think twice.

Finally the rooms themselves were nice and cute and full of character. Not in a negative way but it definitely felt kind of cool and funky in a nice way. The TV worked well and you had the option to watch netf

Great location. While the hotel itself is in a very quiet area, it's a quick 15 minute walk to get into town. We enjoyed having the option to relax on our peaceful beach, or to hit the town and all the great restaurants and bars. The only reason for the 4 star rating is the air conditioning. We completely understand the importance of saving electricity, and like all the hotels we visited in Thailand, it's your room key that gives you electricity, including the air conditioning. Seeing as the rooms are individual huts (very beautiful), there is no central AC like you would have in a big hotel. The result is an unbearable hot sauna every time you get back to the room. We left the windows and patio doors open with the screens closed to try and keep the place somewhat cool, but there is very little wind, and every evening we were melting as we tried to get to sleep. Throughout the night, the air conditioning would eventually cool the place down, but only after several hours. I know this isn't a problem with the hotel, but I think it's important to point out for those who do not endure the heat so well.

Fun little treehouse style resort with private beach. Transportation to and from town is somewhat an issue. They say it is a 25 min easy walk but it is not easy. You need to hire a scooter which is 200 baht per person. The food at the resort restaurant is priced well so not really an issue unless you have a tour or want to go to town. The beach is wonderful and not packed with people. We would definitely return.

Loved this resort! It’s very private and has a beautiful beach, reasonably priced food and drinks and our 3 bedroom 3 bathroom cabin was absolutely beautiful. The walk to town (a must do) takes about 20 minutes but you can also take the resort’s private longboat for free. My daughter felt very safe at night when walking alone.

We stayed at the Viking Nature Resort for one night on our honeymoon and had an amazing time. We took the complimentary boat over from the main pier and they gave us an incredible room with a huge porch, hammock and ocean view which we did not expect. They decorated the room for our honeymoon and the staff were super kind and helpful. The beach is beautiful and feels super secluded. Despite what google maps says, there is an an easy 15 minute walk to the popping part of town. They also have massages on the beach with great prices. This is a hidden gem and highly recommended!

My friends and I had an incredible experience at the Viking Nature Resort. The staff was very helpful, friendly, and accommodating. They helped organize a perfect snorkeling tour with pickup/drop off at the resorts private beach. The restaurant menu has a lot to offer and everything we ordered was great. We did not dine out anywhere else on the island because it was so convenient. The walk into town takes 20-25 minutes but it’s a nice walk right along the coast and beaches. We loved the grand villa and really enjoyed our stay!

Loved the location, the beaches, the walk to town. The long tail drops you off on the sand and you walk off the sand into reception. We could open our bathroom window and see the sea. Also loved the hammock and the pot with scoop to wash your feet. Staff carried our bag so far up the hill we felt bad. Will definitely go back.

Quiet and peaceful, we felt very close to nature! We also loved the location and amenities of our room (we had a bungalow facing the sea).

However, the room didn’t feel very clean (the rugs didn’t look like they had been washed and there were some bugs in the washroom. Additionally the mattress seemed a bit old and smelt a bit of old sweat.

Overall it’s a lovely place if you want peace and quiet away from the tourist frenzy.

This was just what we hoped for. Our room was small, but that was okay. We had sea views and a little private balcony with a hammock. You’re right in the jungle, which we loved. The walk to town is fine, when the tide is out you can go all the way along the beach. Scope out the “inland” route in the day before trying to do it at night! The resorts beach is beautiful and Long beach is a very short walk away.

Me and my wife got serious food poisoning after diner in hotel restaurant. Half an hour after meal both of us started vomiting ang got diarrhea. It was so serious that we moved to the hospital where we spent 2,5 days with high fever 39,5 C.!
After just 8 hours after meal we were so exhausted that couldn't stand or feet. So at 4 am I woke up a stuff member in reception, where he was sleeping. Asked him to call a boat to take us to the hospital. He was not happy that I woke him up, very sleepy, said to me that it is impossible (?!). After a few minutes he agreed to call somebody and charged me double price for transfer to WorldMed hospital. Anyway, all transfers by boat to town are not for free, you need to pay in reception what is not ok in my opinion. Other option is a 30 minutes walk across the rain forest with wild monkeys, very dangerous after getting dark.
My wife was in such a terrible state that I had to carry her from a boat to the hospital.
After 2 days straight from hospital still with cannula in my vein I came back to check out from hotel, my wife was still in hospital. I was ask to pay for my last diner even after I said we are in a hospital after that meal. And for 2 bottles of water from room (even with fact that we missed 3 breakfast...).
We made a mess in the toilet when we got sick, after 2 days it was still dirty and not cleaned... Room the same. Dirty tables in restaurant.

Very nice cute hotel. Bring extra baht because they charge for EVERYTHING! Nothing is included. No entertainment and shopping takes a long tail boat 100 baht per person to even get to. There is food there but more then a few days you’d get really sick of the deep fried food.

Stunning resort with fabulous views, off grid feel

Stunning location with stunning accommodation. Vicking will pick you up from Tonsai pier at your arrival and you will arrive by boat to their resort. What a place and what a fantastic way to arrive to their private beach. Our accommodation was by far the best in our trip. Terrace with a view of the Andaman Sea. We had a special guest appearance (3 monkeys got into our room and helped themselves with sugar and fanta in the fridge: just remember to close the bedroom door as they will find their way to grab food) . In fairness after that, no need to go on Monkey island 😉 Great meals , great staff. Possibility to rent snorkling equipment and kayaks. Access to Long beach (5 min) and town (10 min) and free taxi boat organised throughout the day. Outside the hours, it will only cost you £2.50 to go to town by tail boat. I would highly recommend this resort. No swimming pool , just a fabulous beach to yourself.

The Viking Nature Resort was one of the highlights of our trip. We were met at the ferry, helped onto a long boat, and taken to Viking. The staff greeted us and after check in, carried out bags to our cabin. We were in the Standard Cabin and it was much more than we expected. It is rustic, but we loved that about the place. The only downside was the long tail boats continuous noise throughout the day. Other than that is was great.

Stayed here with my husband and another couple. If you come in knowing it is a NATURE resort and will be seeing bugs/cockroaches and the toilet water will be yellow then your stay will be much better. The hotel and the room was clean. The AC worked beautifully. Will need to get a water boat taxi if you to town. Otherwise it’s a 30 min walk up and down hills. This hotel is for those who want to be in nature and really immerse in the island life but still have the comforts of the 21st century.

The bungalow was great and clean, in a very relaxing spot. Really liked the breakfast, lots of options and the ones I tried were good. Also, they had a free tasting of Thai food every night and the choices were very good. Amazing beach. The resort has a tour agency if you want to go on some tours.
There was a couple of workers that were really really nice, but most of the staff acted as if it was annoying having to deal with us. They were efficient though!

This place is beautiful! Htet (one of the employees) took really good care of us. Some of the villas are up a fairly steep hill so if you have mobility issues that could be a problem. The beach is absolutely amazing! The food is more than reasonabley priced and everything we had was good. The breakfast buffet is limited but it’s also a small resort and again everything we ate was good. Water taxi to town is 100 Baht per person and the ride in isn’t long at all. Walking to town takes quiet a bit of time and if you’re like me and have a couple of drinks it can be a bit much. All in all it was a great experience and I wish we could’ve stayed longer!

Not all it was hyped up to be.

I paid for a/c in my room, it wasn’t a/c. On Phi phi in December that’s horrid. The front desk gal was rude about boat taxis and accommodations. The breakfast is not awesome, and all of the buffet breakfasts on Phi phi are pretty standard and good. If you are looking for comfort, clean and reliable this isn’t the place. More like camping. It’s a beautiful place with unique rooms. Just not what it’s hyped up to be.

Excellent place to stay!

Free hotel transfer from the pier on arrival. the location of the resort is excellent, away from the main crowd in town, with a small beach. it is about 20mins walk into town which is easy, the resort itself was built on a small hill with some steps to climb but you would appreciate the nature, the only problem is mosquitoes! buffet breakfast was good with enough options to choose from but wasn't included in the room rate. I would stay here again if I ever go back to phi phi!

I was looking for an eco of the path kind of resort and this place hits the mark. It’s a hike to town but it’s through a jungle which was a blast. They pick you up and drop you off at the Ferry and hanging in a hammock listening to the waves in the morning is indescribable. Not a place for you if your out of shape. Take an island boat tour

The hotel itself is good, room was good, air-conditioned, large bathroom. Perfect for sleeping in as you are out and about all day.

The unfortunate part was the experience at the hotel. First day the cleaning staff threw all of my clothes in a heap on the floor and just left them there in a pile. I thought nothing of it and thought it would not happen a second time. The following day I left early in the morning (locked the room with the provided padlock) to go scuba diving, and did not get back to my room until after midnight. I come back and the doors to my room are completely open, I immediately go to the hotel check-in desk and ask for the manager, after a few minutes someone shows up who is not the manager and asks that I come back in the morning.

I stay up until 2 AM swatting at cockroaches and mosquitoes. Luckily no items were taken from my room.

I come back in the morning and ask for the manager, they tell me come back at 11 AM, I come back at 11 AM they tell me to come back at 12 PM, the manager isn't there yet. Unfortunately, I have activities already planned and have to head out. I was never able to get a hold of the manager before heading to Koh Yao Noi.

During breakfast they did not provide utensils and staff had to be asked to bring out utensils. The common theme seemed to be that you always had to ask the staff for something. Coffee pot runs out, it would sit there empty until someone asked.

I cannot in good conscience recommend this resort.

Great place. Long boat picked me up at the docking port along with other guest that arrived on the same ferry, and took us to the resort. The place is awesome and the food was great. The town is about a 20 to 25 minute walk which really wasn’t bad. Even at night, you can easily walk and the room is equipped with a flashlight which I didn’t really need since there was a fool moon.

BED BUG INFESTATION! DO NOT STAY HERE!

The title says it all. We booked two traditional rooms with double beds. On the first morning of our stay, my boyfriend and I woke up to several black, tiny bugs crawling on the mattress and found bites all over our bodies. When we squashed the bugs, blood smeared all over the sheets, which confirmed they were bed bugs. We called our friend who confirmed that they too found bed bugs in their room. We immediately notified reception, and they only upgraded one of our rooms while refusing to upgrade the other room or to issue a refund at all. The staff was disrespectful and completely unsympathetic to our situation. We had to throw out our clothes and luggage because they were infested with bed bugs aswe left our suitcases open the night before. I understand that the resort is located in the jungle/forest so critters were to be expected but it is still no excuse for the presence of bed bugs. Needless to say, this experience completely ruined our vacation. Please avoid at all costs!

Beautiful hut by the beach

Love the hut, we got a standard with air con which was much needed. Private beaches and about 20 minutes walk to the town through the forest. Will need to carry a torch with you. (Resort provides the torch.)
All staff were extremely helpful from start to finish.
Free transfers from the pier to the resort which was a bonus.

The place over all is ok. Our room was almost a mile away to the reception area which made it inconvenient to go back and fourth. The hotel was under construction so on our way to our room it was ugly to look at

True nature resort

The resort is very hard to get to. It is truly a nature resort off in the jungle, and by no means a luxury resort. About 25 minute walk to town or 5 minute long tail boat ride. If you are staying here for relaxation this is a great resort, however other than the beach there’s not much to do around the property.

Great Views!

This place is great! Would definitely choose to stay here again. We loved how it was away from the busy main town, but still walk able. It is about a 15-20 min walk into town along the coastal trail or at night the tide goes down and you can walk across the beach. We loved relaxing in the hammocks and the staff was helpful in booking us a tour! I wish there was AC, but loved the eco-friendly vibe. They gave us a big fan, but if you used the mosquito net at night, the fan would not blow onto the bed so it was a bit hot. The bed was very comfy though! Loved this place. They even offered longtail rides to and from town at certain times!

Nice accommodation with great views and good staff

The location - quite far from the centre but that's also a bonus - away from the crowds. There is a shuttle boat from/to harbour. We stayed in standard huts with aircon and a balcony with a hammock. The rooms are nice though some storage space for clothes would be handy, as there is none. Good wifi and aircon. Bathrooms are ok. There is a restaurant with nice breakfast (payable extra 150baht) and available for lunch and dinner. Food was good. Staff are very helpful and polite. The beach outside is very nice and not busy. I would stay there again.

4 nights at Viking

Overall we loved our stay at Viking Nature Resort. A long tail boat was at the pier to pick up guests which was awesome. The staff ran down the beach to help with our bags with big smiles on our arrival.
We were in one of the cheapest rooms and it had everything we needed. Lovely double hammock on our veranda. There seemed to be a lot of mozzies outside our room, which weren’t present in other areas, maybe because of the chickens out back?!. There is quite a bit of noise as the long tail boats pass by all day, but the resort can’t be held responsible for this.
The breakfast is 150 bhat and a nice selection of food. Compared with other prices I saw it seemed like good value.
Every night there are free Thai Food Tasting items, which are really tasty.
The resort is about 20 minute walk to the town, so away from all the party, but not so far you can’t check it out.
Long beach is about 5 minutes away depending on where your room is in the resort. The resort also has its own small patch of beach.
Overall we were happy with everything. There are some areas in the resort that are a bit stinky, and some construction going on, but it didn’t bother us.
Phi Phi is more expensive than some of the other islands, but it is beautiful. When you compare only with other accommodation on Phi Phi we felt it was good value.

Nice hotel very basic

Nice hotel with its own two beaches, slightly secluded there is a walk to town but very uneven path so you will need your torch at night.
Our room was a basic bamboo hut set back into the trees, quite a walk from reception so bear this is mind if you struggle with walking.
The room was small and the fridge leaked but for a nature valley the room might be what you would expect, the mosquito net was ripped and dirty but it helped. We also had a visit from a lizard and a cockroach!! The doors are locked with a padlock but there is a lovely balcony with a large hammock on all rooms. However if you want a bit of luxury ensue you book one of the more modern huts, something I wish we had done but overall okay stay and helpful friendly staff.

Good but too far from town

Was excited about the size our room, with a balcony and hammock. The room was very nice. They provide 2 free bottles of water daily. The employees are kind enough to bring up your luggage since its uphill. The trek to the town is quiet a walk. It would take about 30 minutes but it was through the woods, up and down hills. It was very tiring. We also did the viewpoint trail from our room, big mistake. Took an hour and its as almost all up hill. When we took the way down back into town it would of only taken approximately 30 mins up stairs (which may be preferably to muddy hills). I also thought that my boyfriend was bringing sand into the room, which seemed odd since we washed our feet each time prior to entering but then soon realized it was coming from the ceiling. The food was eh at the resort I recommend walking into town. You could do a long tail boat from town back to the resort for only 300 that (about $3 USD).

Nice traditional style huts in a natural forest

Nice traditional style huts are built on a hill and connected with narrow tracks, so be ready for a bit of exercise. Personally I loved it, it's all surrounded by natural forest and feels like an adventure. It takes just 15-20 minutes to get to the town. If you don't want to walk - a long tail can get you there for 100 batt (150 at night). There is a small local beach, it's good to snorkel (lots of marine life), you can hire a snorkel and fins for 200 batt at the left side of the restorant. Try to avoid the local beach at low tides, it gets too rocky. I preffered to walk about 50meters over the shore rocks to get to the long beach, which is a bit deeper. Local hotel restorant offers wide choice of food, including grill, burgers, sandwiches, etc.. all sutable for children. I checked all food and cafes available at the long beach and found no big difference in quality or price. Credit cards are accepted everywhere with 3% surcharge, one ATM transaction fee is about 240 batt. It's worth a swim from the long beach to shark point reef, don't be afraid of boat traffic it's all surrounded by yellow buoys like a swimming area, so you need to cross just about 50m of \"open\" water. Sharks (when seen) are not bigger than 1m and pay absolutely no attention to humans swimming around. My bleeding toe (smashed into a shore rock before) didn't attract them at all :) There is a dive center at the end of the long beach if you want to do everything properly.

Bed bugs and poor service!

Close to nice beaches but a bit of a hike to the center of the town. The room was clean but we could not get any sleep at night because we were eaten by bed bugs, when we complained at the lobby they didn't do nothing, not even apologize, they only asked for the room number. Bed bugs and poor service!

This hotel is a pain in the backside to get to. Impossible to find your room at night. The shower is over the top of the toilet which needs renovating! The mozzie net around the bed hasn't been washed in forever. Gross!

Vikings has been the highlight of our trip to Thailand, so much so we are going to come back before we head home! About 15-20 min walk along the beach track to phiphi town, markets, food, night bars, tour/dive bookings etc. Next beach heading away from the town is long beach, very beautiful. On arrival we were very surprised to have a longtail boat waiting for us at the pier to take us as the walk with our bags wouldnt have been ideal. Vikings has a beautiful private beach, wooden treetop bungalows, mosquito nets and all rooms have a hammock. What else do you need? They even give you bug repellant! Would recommend and will be back!

Amazing hotel! Perfect spot of Phi Phi!

We are a young couple who recently stayed at the Viking resort and LOVED our experience there! The Viking is located close to beautiful Long Beach and also has its own private swimming beach. Town is a quick long tail ride away OR is walkable from the resort (20 mins; okay to do at night but is somewhat through the jungle). The room was gorgeous- beautiful decor, clean and monkeys on our balcony. I would hands down recommend this place to anyone looking for a beautiful, natural feel while also having access to the rest of what Phi Phi has to offer!
