The hotel is in a great location. It's in the center of the resort and easy to walk around the resort.
The staff were lovely, the breakfast had a good variety. Our room was steps away from the pool and clean.
We would definitely stay here again.
It's reasonably priced compared to others in the same location. We were met at the port and they escorted us to the hotel and carried our luggage. Great service.

Fantastic place

Our stay was amazing. Phi PhiPalmtree is situated right in the middle of Tonsai village, close to…everything. We stayed at the suite, which was large and very quite. We loved the outdoor shower (note to hotel: the plastic curtains do not hold up in the wind…). The staff was super friendly and helpful, the hotel pool is fun, and the pool bar was great. We enjoyed every part of our stay and will be back again!

Only potentially bad point for some is the very firm solid bed which is more traditional way around asia rather than the soft bouncy spring mattresses of the west. Was a bit sore after first night but soon go used to it

Also as always in this kind of accommodation there r the inevitable
cockroaches outside
The pool access was nice but very unwell whilst here so no chance to appreciate it

Arrival:
Rented the suite after reading reviews. There is a bellman that will be waiting at the pier upon your arrival. Look through all the people holding hotel signs until you find the right one. He loaded the bags on a cart and we took the short walk to our room. Hotel is very convenient to EVERYTHING, especially the center of the market.

Check in:
Front desk staff was friendly and spoke pretty good English. Check in was a breeze. They even provided recommendations for excursions.

The room:
It was spacious and had very good ammenities for a hotel of its age. I will say the mattress was one thing that kept this from being a 5 star review. It was very stiff and I love a firm mattress. The best thing for me was the OUTDOOR SHOWER. The temps were in the 100's. That shower made we want to have one installed outdoor, immediately upon my return.

Hotel:
Breakfast was okay. There is an omelet station. I wish there were non-pork meat options but the veggie omelet was good. Pool appeared to be nice but we never had the opportunity to use it due to our schedule. The bar is right there at the pool and they had a good selection of liquors, juices and beverages to choose from.

I would definitely consider staying here again in the future. I may ask if they have a softer mattress next time though.

The pool is not big but does the job.

Very friendly staff.

The room is big,good shower. But when you get in there is smell of mold. I did not see any sign of it,but there is a huge smell.

The breakfast team was not the best. There was a good amount of food, but the team was too noisy; they were talking , and laughing, and it was kinda hard to get their attention to ask for a cup of coffee.

The rooms here are pretty nice, especially for how inexpensive they are. The staff was wonderful and the complimentary breakfast was so convenient. The only negative thing we had to say about our stay is that the beds are similar to laying on a concrete floor. We don’t mind a firm mattress, but this was next level.

They were so accommodating and kind, my friend and I got pick up and escorted to the property from the ferry free of charge. When we decided to stay another night they let us stay in the same room and were so kind. It was quiet and clean, we loved it !

A miserable place!

No general manager! We wanted to cancel the rest of our reservation. Advised by Hotels.com we would be contacted within 72 hour. Conveniently the end of our reservation. Still waiting it’s been 7 days. The staff at this hotel are not trained in customer service, spend most of their time with their backs to their customer on their cell phone. The pool although lovely has no umbrellas and no shade. We were offered a nice welcome drink but needed to go to the bar to get it. No one there. The rooms are old and out dated with the hardest bed imaginable. The beach does not exist as it end to end boats. It was a miserable stay and would recommend no one go here!

I was a bit disappointed about my stay here as the price didn’t reflect the service.

First the good points, the room was of good size and had everything you needed. Kettle, hairdryer, safe etc. Some parts of the breakfast were good, ie: the options, the bacon and the omelette station.

The location was perfect though and my room on the third floor was pretty quiet.

The bad points: The bed was ridiculously uncomfy. As a guy who enjoys a pretty stiff bed at home this was another level. The pillows and bed were like blocks of concrete with a sheet on top. I woke up numerous times every night and the first few hours of the night I had back and shoulder pain. I’m 30.

The sausages for breakfast were underdone hotdog sausages basking in luke-warm water. Needless to say if you’re expecting a full English, don’t. Also, no eggs in the buffet station. If you want scrambled or fried you have to ask them to do them for you. The service was average. Just small things like putting towels on the bed for you rather than in the bathroom hung up. Not replacing sugar or tea bags.

Took a while to check in and at one point 7:00 am. The key for my room stopped working and there wasn’t anyone at reception who could help so I was locked out.

Considering it’s Thailand and I was paying $100+ AUD per night, I was expecting a lot more and was underwhelmed and disappointed overall. If I went back to phi phi I wouldn’t stay here again in all honesty.

It was a fairy quiet property for Koh Phi Phi. But I do not think that it is worth the price even when bought at a discount. Firstly, the employees seemed scared of leadership team and were so worried about sticking to routine that they were not hospitable.

At breakfast I was waiting for my daughter as she ran up to get us the breakfast coupon and they would not even let me sit down and wait. For as expensive as it is they should also offer up more amenities at the pool. They had a pool bar but it was not open and they should invest in more pool chairs. It is a large facility with numerous guests and 6 chairs doesn’t cut it. Lastly, I was charged for a hand towel because it went missing. I counted all the towels before leaving and I know it was there. I asked to go back up to find it and was greeted my an annoyed cleaning women who dropped all the things she took out of my room on the floor. In that pile were 4 bath towel when we only had two in there so I know it was not what came out of our room. It was no longer there and I had to pay 250 baht for the towel. Very irritating as I never took the hand towel and saw it laying there as I left.

Nice pool and the staff was friendly enough but just not what you would expect from the price of a hotel. I would highly recommend staying elsewhere. Plenty of nice hotels for a cheaper price on the island.

It’s in the centre of everything and the gym in the sister hotel was nice. But we found them really inflexible - a lot of rules about what you can and couldn’t do, fines around returning towels late and the breakfast was disappointing. More than that, we had to argue for more bath towels, there was no iron. But it is a good place to explore everything from. We advise Pool room as it’s worth the extra money but honestly, we wouldn’t book this again.

After reading other reviews I was a bit dubious to book. But I was pleasantly surprised. There isn’t a lot to pick from in Phi phi. But for what we paid I think it seemed fair.
Main things. Rooms are clean. Showers are good and warm. And the air con is nice and cold.

We never ate at the restaurant as there is so much on your doorstep. I read reviews about rude staff. They were pleasant. You can’t have guests but then again a lot of the places on phi phi do this. The pool is perfect, there isn’t a lot of beds but you have a lovely beach on your doorstep. For being so central it’s very quiet at night

The pool bar wasn’t always open but you have multiple shops on your doorstep. So you can save a few bucks and go to the shops

Finally the rooms are on the tiny side but you have to remember most places on phi phi as like this. It’s a little island with over 10k people crammed in

The WiFi reception was very poor and I basically couldn’t use my phone while in my room or anywhere else on the property. The hotel staff is very friendly though, but I wouldn’t stay here again.

Knowing what a small island Koh Phi Phi is, it's understandable that the facilities on the island just aren't as advanced as places in the bigger cities. This was our third trip back to Koh Phi Phi and our third different hotel on the island. I think it's safe to say that I think we found our go-to place to stay when we're here. First of all, the location is great. It's probably about 8 minutes from the pier, 5 minutes to the beach and all of the beach bars. There are 7-11's and other quickie marts all around the PP Palmtree, not to mention this lady who makes crazy good fried chicken around the corner (seriously, I am still having dreams about this woman's fried chicken two weeks later!!). We booked a \"Deluxe Double\" room and although a little small, it had a great view of the pool. There are only three floors but no lift so if you can't walk up and down stairs easily, consider a different place or requesting a ground floor room. Breakfast had a great selection of eastern and western foods and we loved filling up each morning before starting our day. Staff was always so kind and greeted us each time we came back to the hotel. They also had complimentary towel rental that you could use for the beach or pool as long as it was returned at the end of each day. All in all, I enjoyed my time at PP Palmtree and wouldn't hesitate booking another room there or at one of their sister properties.

Fantastic place to stay with even better staff. Tor the poolside bartender was amazing and went above and beyond his job. The only gripe I have regarding room comfort was the fact that sleeping on cement would of been more comfortable as the beds are more that a wee bit hard.
Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

Bag pickup from the pier. 5min walk from the pier following the guy carriying your bags.
Clean rooms. Every day fresh pillow caps. Hard bed (too much for me).
Nice swimming pool and access from the room terrace, but strict rules about closing time (not even 5 minutes after 8pm or you will be fined).
In the morning quite loud, while staf are cleaning other rooms - rooms not sound proof.
The no smoking policy on the entire property should be mentioned in the description.
I did not enjoy to go on the street in front of the hotel every time I wanted a cigarette.
It was a bit downside for me not able to grab a beer and a smoke on the room balcony in front of the pool. So if you are a smoker, like me, take note on this.

Otherwise it is a nice excellently located non smoking hotel.

Great hotel in the middle of Phi Phi for less!

My wife and I stayed here for two nights on our recent trip to Phuket and Krabi. We were pleasantly surprised as reading the reviews online, we weren't expecting much from any hotels in Phi Phi. Upon arriving on the pier, the hotel staff was at the pier with a big smile. They took our luggage and tok us to the hotel which was about a 10 minute brisk walk. Upon arriving at the hotel, we were promptly checked in and provided with a welcome drink (much needed on a really hot day). We were assigned room 320, the luggage was taken to our room and a little gratuity was really appreciated for their hard work.
Room was better then expected. Bath room was nice and clean (this is important to us) and the shower pressure was amazing!
The hotel breakfast is really good. The made to order eggs and the pancakes are very good. Fresh fruit, coffee, friend rice and noodles and fruit juices all very good.
Location is excellent and steps away from good eats and thai massages. We could hear the music in our room as expected and it wasn't loud enough to hinder our sleep.
Pool looked good but we spent our time in the ocean instead. :)
Upon check out, the hotel kept our luggage for our late ferry to Krabi and once we showed up after a lunch, the guys dropped them off for us at the pier.
For what it's worth, we are well traveled and usually stay in upgraded Hilton rooms due to my gold status with them.

I was heavily disappointed with my stay here. I found out that as a solo traveler, anyone would be treated as a trespasser and not one of my guests. They also do not have wifi. Unless you want to drain your data on a laggy hotspot you won't be able to use your computers. I was also woken up by housekeeping despite having a 'Do Not Disturb' sign. Horrible stay. Stay elsewhere!

Both me and my partner became violently ill after eating breakfast at the hotel. It was almost an immediate reaction! Severe vomiting and diarrhoea! The toilet wouldn't drain it's water so constantly calling reception to come fix it.

The hotel is ok, if old and poorly maintained, but the staff is surly and the customer service, whenever needed, is slow and seems a \"bother\". The \"free\" breakfast was recycled -- food was gone half-way-through.

When we arrived by Ferry, we were greeted at the pier by a hotel employee and he was helpful in assisting with our luggage placing it in a cart when we walked to the hotel. Our room was located at the pool level which was a nice bonus. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was excellent.

The hotel is very easy to find and it is located in the heart of the local area. although it is near the local market it is very quiet.The stuff are very pleasant and polite and they smile at you all the time!The room was clean and spacious with Wifi and TV and AC and a small balcony overlooking the pool.We though that there would be a lot of noise from the pool, but the double glazing takes care of that, no problem at all. The \"hit\" is the fully electronically controlled room, through a control panel near the bed, so you don't have to get up at all! We were having only breakfast at the hotel, which is delicious, with local Thai food and American style buffet,plus eggs/omelets prepared on request. The only \"issue\" was that it was almost impossible to get our sea towels dry overnight, because the humidity is very high and day by day our wet towels/bathing suits were getting a rotten smell, not a hotel issue but maybe of the area.Nothing to worry, but keep it in mind.The highlight -if you like Thai food- is that the hotel is 3min walk from the best Thai restaurant you can find in the area: Pa-Noi Thai. The beaches around are nice but you can go to Long Beach by boat every day.You will not regret staying there.

in the middle of everything. clean. good service

hotel is in the center of phi phi. walking distance from pier. was quiet at night. Breakfast ok. a little outdated rooms but clean and comfortable. bed a little hard. Breakfast ok.

Terrible service!

This is a very nice location, everything should be great if without been forced to pay 350 plus credit card transaction fee for a broken cup. I told front desk that a cat followed us and got inside our room, we try to let it out, it jumped on the night stand and made a cup fell down on the floor. She said how could it happen. After I showed her the video tape, she asked the manager and told me that the cat is not belonging to the hotel. What a joke, the cat was at the lobby every day, when we in and out every time you will see it laying right on the stairs in front of reception desk. This is Ridiculous!

strict hotel they forgot u came from vacation and they need to serve you...
bring the pool towel after 20:00? you will pay
get inside the pool even u booked pool cases room u will pay .
security rude
can't invite no one even to lobby or drink.
it's army rules hotel.. ... avoid...

Nice hotel in good location

The hotel is not new but they try to make you feel comfortable. The location is good - close to everything but far enough from the nightlife noise. The breakfast is nice but not great. Would recommend overall.

Well worth the money

This is our second time visiting Palmtree.
The room is clean specious and comfortable.
The staff is always very helpful and at night there is even a guard guarding the hotel.
The pool is an awesome amenity in its design.
The location of this hotel I think is the best because it's right in the middle between the 2 main beaches.
Thanks Palmtree for a great stay.

Nice hotel in heart of town, away from noise.

Loved pool access room until hotel gets busy, very hard mattress but would stay there again. Loved the room decor and up to date room controls. Water pressure great plus had a shower wand which we prefer. Porters met us at jetty even tho we hadn't told them which ferry we would be on! Great value for money.

The hotel is right in the middle of shops and night life. I had a great time meeting locals and my room was nice. Always water in the frige. Be sure to add guest name to your room list before the lobby closes because security will not let anyone in who's not signed into the hotel.

Good value, great location but some small issues.

Pros: The hotel has a nice little pool, with a pool bar. It's quiet even though you are on the doorstep of all the parties, If that's your thing. Short distance to restaurants and shops. Nice smiling staff.

Cons: The pool bar wouldn't allow to charge drinks on room, we had to bring money into the pool and pay. The lights in the shower were connected to tv switch and since there is a sandblasted window between shower and bedrooms it became a little issue..tv on meant bright lights. Then there was a little ant issue by the desk area. A computer was left on the desk and is now infested with little ants coming out of keyboard every now and then.

Quiet yet close enough to the action

A smoke free resort with a pool and balcony for all rooms. The rooms are clean and are close enough to the locals of the island and also the party goers that come to the island.

Many convenient stores are located within a 2 minute walk from the facility and also restaurants and bars.
