The room was relatively clean. The shower was dirty around all of the seals. We also had some ants :( which they did offer to take care of immediately but we only stayed one night and into the next afternoon. The shower will not stay one temperature. Once it's set, it will immediately go from hot to cold back to hot and then cold again. There is also loud monk singing in the middle of the night. That's not their fault but could be a reason to stay further from city center.

Room was large and comfortable, good shower, fridge, efficient air conditioning. However, there was what can only be described as a junkyard outside our room and every few hours including very early in the morning there was calling to prayer and I think the speaker must’ve been outside our room. Also, other guests were very noisy when returning at night.

Great hotel with a few bed bugs.

We have also stayed in this hotel last year and it has been a great choice. Unfortunately we were bitten by bed bugs. However, everything else was great and if it wasn’t for the bed bugs, we would recommend this hotel.

This is hotel right in the middle of the busy shopping section of Phi Phi Island. We were passing through and only stayed one night. The hotel served the basic needs for just one day. It is a no frills room but serves a temporary stay just fine!

The room was very nice. The beds comfortable. I wouldn’t recommend anyone going to the island. The side that the ferry brings you to, there is no beach to enjoy and when you get off the ferry you have to pay to get on the island, thank goodness we had some baht with us. There is no vehicle on the island at all. to take you to your hotel, you have to drag your luggage and the street are so busy with people and holes , very hard to find your way around. The beach on the other side of the island isn’t much either. They have boats there for excursions and ropes where you can swim, but if the tide is out the buoys are laying on the sand. Very disappointing

We would have had a better stay if we didn’t had to sleep in a room with no working AC, this was brought up to the staff but the gentleman from front desk didn’t care and said he couldn’t help us. No compensation or anything.


The next day we asked again and made clear that we weren’t able to sleep properly for the last two nights and finally were able to switch rooms for the last night.

We were pleased by the hotel, it’s cleaness and the great employees. The room would benefit from a little repainting but it was clean and we slept very well. It’s in the middle of everything but very calm at the same time. Would definitively go back!

We enjoyed our stay at the Panmanee Hotel, it was conveniently located in the center of the island. At first it was a little difficult to find since it is hidden away but the hotel is very clean, modernized, and spacious. We were able to come back and forth to drop off items and change /freshen up throughout the day. Right outside of the hotel past the alley way is a multitude of street food and shops. It is definitely a hidden gem!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Panmanee Hotel! While the hotel is located right in the centre of the hustle and bustle of Phi Phi, it is on a quiet street and therefore, you hear no noise at night. We loved the location of this property. We also had the ability to book our tours (including to Maya Bay) directly at the hotel, which was extremely convenient. This hotel was recently renovated and was one of the most comfortable beds I slept in during my two-week stay in Thailand. I would happily recommend this property to others!

This was a very last minute stay due to an error with an excursion we’d booked however what a lovely error it was. We stayed just one night here and the room was large, bright and the bed was enormous. Very clean and comfortable and conveniently located surrounded by shops and restaurants. Would recommend.

Unfortunately the bathrooms smelled really bad in both of our rooms. The day shift hotel staff was not friendly and did not go out of their way. They were more concerned with watching shows on their phones. The night shift staff was amazing! The rooms were nice but the bathrooms ruined the experience.

Mostly good: newer, modern, clean, great location, good bed, sheets, and quiet. But as other reviews have noted, service could have been better.

No effort was made to meet us at the pier, direct us to the hotel, or assist us with our luggage. Many other hotels do.

Also, we arrived early hoping to get a room we liked enough to want to extend our stay, but were given a room with no view while rooms with views were left unoccupied. Seems like they save the best rooms for last.

On the bright side, their housekeeping crew was very helpful and on the whole, we would stay here again.

You’ve already probably compared the few options that Expedia has to offer in the area of phi phi, this is obviously the most affordable and cleaner option.

What you pay, is what you get. They provide a decent roof over your head, AC works great, the restrooms are clean. I do understand how some reviews regarding the rude staff can come into play. I wouldn’t say they were rude, but they just look very complacent and laid back. They don’t have that, “resort front desk” type of feel.

If you’re on level one, you do hear people walking above you, sometimes the local kids running. There are small spiders inside of the rooms near the backboard lights. Plenty of them actually, best you don’t even attempt to try and wipe them down. They’ll wake up and scatter … so there is that issue.

The location is in the quiet part of town, but 3 minute walk to the chaos and party side of town. Walking distance to the beach, pier and plenty of food options in the area.

We did leave one day earlier, not because of the room or services, just because there isn’t much to do on that island other than party and boat tours.

I would definitely rate this location 3.5/5 … decent stay compared to all the other locations / hostels

Modern/renovated place in the middle of Phi Phi. Rooms look new, however I agree with other reviews, bathroom has a bad smell for some reason. Service is non-existent, check in and forget about it. No View from the room, looks out to adjacent rundown property.

Best value I’ve ever had at a hotel!! For a relatively low price we got 5 star service and facilities - would highly recommend. The room was beautiful, pool was pristine and the provided breakfast was great. I also can’t say enough about the staff who were so kind and helpful. The entrance was in an alley behind the market and there were trash that were kept by markets right in front of the hotel and smells as you walk to the entrance. The alley was always wet because marketers clean theirs products and meats on that side.

1st night check-in notice the dirty smell from 1 of the 4 pillows and asked customer service to change it out but one came service. The bathroom smell bad all day every day we stayed there. A little dirty outside around the hotel entry.

Very nice clean Hotel. Just a short walk from the pier. Able to relax in the room with good air conditioning. There is a mosque behind the Hotel and the call to prayer woke us up at about 5am! There’s no pool but a short stroll to the beach. The area surrounding the hotel is quite crazy with people, barrow boys and shops!

Lovely property, newly refurbished so looks great and modern.
Loved that there was a food market directly outside the front door and that it was really centrally located - perfect for popping about the island.
WiFi was very poor on the ground floor - this needs to be updated and sorted.
The check in was okay, not the friendliest of staff though, which is odd for Thailand with everyone being so friendly.
Beds were a little hard for our preference, but this being said the aircon was great and we had a good sleep.
Would definitely recommend as a modern and clean stop for a short stay in Phi Phi (if you were staying longer I’d say get somewhere with a pool as this place is basically just rooms)

Renovated recently but as usual in Thailand cleanliness is not the best. It is also located near food market so can be loud depending on where your room is located. Looking at other properties on phi phi island this seemed to be better than others it is 2min walk from pier.

Clean, very new looking accommodation In great location near Tonsai Pier so was not too far to walk with luggage and close to meet-up point for sunrise tour. Very efficient & helpful checkin. Nice, comfortable waiting areas available before check in time & after checkout before ferry. Close to Lots of things but nice, quiet room. Loved Anna’s restaurant nearby.

Perfect location just off the main street

Panmanee hotel was perfect. The location is just behind a small market, but is quiet at night. It’s just a few minutes walk from the main pier. The rooms were modern and clean. The staff were incredibly helpful in organising a boat tour.

Nice place in between the shops and attractions , not too far from the beach and dock. Room has AC, was clean and comfy. It’s near the 7 eleven, laundromat, and street food stalls. It was nice and quiet at night. Receptionist and people there were really nice ans friendly. Will plan to stay again in the future.

Hotel itself was nice for what it was. However the bathroom inside our room had a terrible smell whenever we used the shower, sink or toilet. It also didn’t seem like our maid fully cleaned our room properly as our bathroom sink, mirror, and floors looked dirty the entire stay.

It was clean and modern. The staff was helpful and spoke good enough English. The water pressure was great for a Thai hotel the hot water was also steamy great for a Thai hotel. The mattress was hard but it had a pillow top mattress cover that made the bed softer and good enough to sleep in without waking up sore and stiff. The location was great for walking it was in the middle of the action lots of restaurants and shops. It’s worth the money.

The hotel is well renovated and modern. The rooms are comfortable and the bed is good. You are only provided one room key and cannot keep the AC running without that key in the slot. Not a problem typically but the AC isn’t very cold so it takes a couple hours to cool the room down.

Staff are friendly and quick to help. After cleaning we were not given any towels, but a quick phone call to reception had that sorted right away.

Location is very central and convenient to the “downtown core”. However, there must be a mosque nearby as there is loud singing/chanting/prayers blared through a loud speaker several times a day. Being woken by that at 5am was not appreciated. Beyond that, no other noise from clubs or bars at all. Not sure if all the rooms in the hotel deal with it or just one side/section of the hotel.

Our stay was perfect for what we had expected. The hotel was close to the pier and easy to find. It matched the pictures of the recent renovation which was clean and modern. Friendly and helpful staff at check in. Room clean and modern with good facilities, large fridge that was nice and cold. There was a drain smell from the bathroom but apparently this is common on Phi Phi. Good location close to the pier and the main streets with bars restaurants and shops

New and Better Panmanee

I heard from this hotel from a popular YouTuber back in 2021. They have recently renovated and the comfort and function of the room is on another level. Compare to the other hotels near the pier, I feel this hotel is a great establishment in Phi Phi.
