Amazing room, had the deluxe villa, definitely worth paying extra for. Probably the best hotel room I’ve ever stayed in. Lovely staff, amazing location, private pool and secluded from the noise of town. Sad we just didn’t stay longer!

The property is in a great location, very close to shops and the main pier. The room is decent but allows a lot of mosquitos to come in some how. The shower has no hot water and the drainage in the shower is terrible. There lobby is open to the outdoor which gets hot and humid checking in or out. It’s an ok property but I’d tried a different place before coming back. The mosquitos are a huge problem.

Coming to a small island it’s obvious not to expect incredibly lavish accommodations but at a higher level for the cost of those on the island, I would expect more than offered. Have 500 bath available as security deposit for the room key. The good is that it is fairly centrally located and not too far of a walk from the pier. The bad: the beds are hard which makes it difficult if you’ve had surgery. I booked two of the exact same rooms but was given one of lower quality and just told it’s the same when it was smaller and didn’t have the same balcony. The building leaked so the entire stairs and walkway to the room door was covered in water. There is no hot water, only luke warm at the hottest setting and the water you get is salt water so not exactly a clean feeling. Not sure if that’s all hotels on the island or not though. I kept losing power due to loose/shoddy wiring that they basically pieces back together with tape and bubble gum so never truly fixed it. They seem more worried about putting out their price lists for every possible thing you can touch and overcharging in the restaurant. The restaurant is on the beach but there are no available chairs like there are further down the beach at other locations. I’ve slept in worse places but also in far better even in more remote locations. Bottom line is there are better options available on the island at multiple price points. I checked out early and left due to the issues (of course no refund is given).

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here. They were really accommodating when it came into getting us into our room a little bit early since we had an excursion in the afternoon. The room was spacious and we enjoyed spending time at the pool. It's located right in the middle of town (which is small) so everything is a 5 min walk.

Nice hotel, very well located, is not connected with beach directly but you only need to cross the small street and you are in the public beach. Welcome drink and good attention. Rooms are spacious, and we loved the pool.

This hotel is above average, though not stellar (especially for the price point). The hot water wasn't working, and when I asked the receptionist to have someone fix it, it ended up not being fixed despite someone clearly having dropped by my room. I only stayed a night and left early in the morning so I couldn't be bothered to go back to the receptionist, but for the price I was paying, I don't think it was worth it to pay that much and not have hot water.

I also couldn't find the light switch to turn off the main light in the room, so I had to sleep with the lights on.

At least the room was nice and clean. Nice modern design that doesn't look like it was built in the 70s/80s.

Updated hotel but drains are a problem

Average hotel but probably one of the more modern looking in Phi Phi with updated rooms and bathroom. Room was clean and comfortable and no major complaints regarding the with bedroom/sleeping area. The only problem with this hotel is the smell of raw sewage coming from the bathroom drains. It was so bad it woke me up one night when I hadn't shut the bathroom door. I had 2 rooms and both had the smell problem so it's not isolated and it doesn't occur at other hotels ive stayed at in Phi Phi.

I wouldn't stay here again but if you're looking for a modern updated room then this is for you. Just remember to bring air freshener - I bought a couple of gel fresheners from the local store for about 90b - that solved the problem and no more smell :)

Check in and room was nice, breakfast (included) was good, with a lovely view. However, the bathroom in our room had a horrible smell of sewage. The smell was nauseating and the other reviewers must have had a similar problem. This is something that needs immediate attention in all rooms.

Nice looking place but service is lacking

The staff was not friendly at all. We were 3 people staying in room and they only gave us 1 key. The key is required to be left in the room to keep the air conditioner running, so we couldn’t do that unless we wanted to go through the hassle of finding someone to open the door. With it being near 90 and very humid, ac was important. We did that a few times and they don’t ask for any id or anything. When I asked to speak with a manager they wouldn’t provide one.

The breakfast included with our two-night stay was great. Lots of options from eggs and sausage to Thai noodles. Lastly, it was a great location right on the main drag that parallels the shore.

This was the cleanest resort on the island that I have seen so far. It feels new and it smells nice. I enjoyed staying here very much and its close to everything. I hope they continue to up keep this resort because I do plan on coming back for future visits. Only complaint I have is the umbrellas; they just need to be replaced. Other than that, everything was awesome.

Centrally located on Main Street. Room was big and very clean. Hotel and hotel grounds kept clean and nice. However, housekeeper didn’t replace towels, mats, toilet paper or coffee in our room. Everyday was something different that they missed.
Pool is small, closes early, 8pm, and only 20 chairs total for pool goers.
People making breakfast were coughing and wiping faces and hair while moving/touching food.
Room smelled of raw sewer in our bathroom in our room and a few times outside.
Takes a long time to get room cool.
There was a constant machine noise that went off and on for the four days (all day and night) we stayed- it vibrated our room. We couldn’t tell if it was below us, next to us or roof. But definitely coming from the hotel and made a good night sleep difficult. The hotel’s beach was non-existent. There was a roped off area to get in the water, however, there were many boats tied off on the “beach” and overall the beach on the west side of the island was more inviting.

Centrally located. Breakfast buffet ok but wouldn’t pay for it if it wasn’t included.
Room was clean and spacious but hot and smelled of sewer during the entire stay. Had to pay $500 bht cash room deposit key fee for plastic card. They’re counting on you losing it so they can make a little extra money. We kept our close and got full deposit back - some weren’t so lucky

Air conditioning won’t work without room key and takes a while to cool down the room. Better off taking a cold shower. Speaking of shower- it doesn’t stay a constant temperature so be careful.

Housekeeper was NOT good. Didn’t provide towels after first day, no toilet paper second day, no coffee refill the third day. Had to call for towels, go get coffee from cart and go take toilet paper from their lobby bathroom for our room.

There was a constant generator noise that went off and on during our entire stay (day and night).

Bed was hard- which I liked but my husband hated it.

The hotel pool is small and only provides 20 loungers - which fill up fast and pool closes at 8pm! Grounds are pretty (smells of sewage off and on) and the rooms and area appear to be newly remodeled and going through renovations but wouldn’t stay here again.

Chaokoh Phi Phi is a good value property. It is in the center of the island on the main street, close to all attractions. The price is very reasonable for the quality of the accommodation. Beds are comfortable, room cleanliness is good and breakfast has a good variety of both Asian and Western food. The pool and gym are very new but neither open until 8.00 am. The staff are friendly, obliging and English is spoken.

Ficamos em um quarto com um banheiro que cheirava a esgoto. Foi necessário manter o exaustor do banheiro ligado à noite para poder dormir. O ar condicionado era péssimo, mal esfriava o quarto. O café da manhã foi a única boa experiência. Wifi horrível. Cai o tempo todo e quando funciona é extremamente lenta.
A localização é boa para quem quer ficar perto do centrinho. Observe, porém, que é um hotel ideal para aproveitar a vida noturna da cidade e não para ir à praia.

Stayed for one night as part of a 3 night stay in Phi Phi. Great hotel with fantastic spacious rooms. Air conditioning worked well and the shower was powerful.

The only negative is there is still renovation work ongoing so the pool area is a bit noisy in the day. We only found out at check in which was frustrating but it wouldn’t put me off recommending this hotel.

Avoid until building works complete!

Building works taking place immediately next to the pool meant that we couldn’t enjoy the pool during our stay. The noise was excessive and we were also worried about the dust generated by these works. There was no prior warning on booking which is totally unacceptable. There were a few notices displayed around the hotel informing of the works from 09:00am, however we were woken up before that each day! The water in the hotel room was a mixture of scalding hot and freezing cold and the water pressure was poor (although I accept we’re on an island). The main disappointment was the works as we had paid to stay at a hotel with a pool we couldn’t use, however we were also disappointed by our room which was totally different to the photos on booking and the email confirmation. Such a shame, as this hotel had great potential. I will be making a complaint to hotels.com.

Beautiful new resort property. Beautiful open air lobby with polished floors. Beautiful pool. New comfy luxury rooms. Great bed! We were put on first floor at end of hall where cleaning people worked outside and a telephone pole cluttered with tons of wires was right outside our balcony which was an eye sore to say the least. The room was newly renovated and clean. There were no issues with the bathrooms as I had previously read from reviews. The only issue we had was there were a lot of mosquitoes in the room, it seemed like the doors and windows had been left open when cleaning. The pool was very nice and the location of the hotel is great! Breakfast was included and very good with a nice view of the water. We were almost charged for a broken hanger in our room upon check out even though we didn’t break the hanger (must’ve been left from previous guests and the room wasn’t searched well enough before our stay). We argued against it and didn’t have to pay but something to note.

The room was nice, location convenient, but the front desk staff really soured the experience. From beginning to end our interactions with them were really frustrating over very minor things.

We had to remind them that wifi was included according to the reservation, and then it was a really poor connection. The tour credit is very misleading - when it says 150 baht per day, they mean 150 bhat per room on one tour day - so a 5$ discount. They tried to sell their own tours very aggressively - to the point where she told us false information. Also, the tours that it applies to are inflated - walk to one of the booths on the streets and they'll get you a better price.

Finally, the pool does not have enough seating for the number of rooms that they have. I know that lodging is very limited on Koh Phi Phi, but with a few changes this could be a much better hotel.

Facilities and location are great. Staff english profficiency & customer service is the lowest point of the hotel. GM or owner may want to swap staff for robots. Weird safety desposit in cash is request during check in (ask for a receipt otherwise you might not get it back) but seems to be the standard around Kho Phi Phi hotels though.

Super clean, spacious, and convenient- it's one of the nicer hotels that's close to everything and not affected by the noise at night. The pool is brand new and beautiful. ALL of the staff were very friendly and helpful and easy going with any requests we had. Check in was super fast and they let us into our room about three hours early! This is the second time we've stayed here and the fifth hotel we've tried out on PhiPhi- Chaokoa is definitely our favorite so far!
