A great place to stay. An older building but neat and tidy inside, and fully equipped with heat pumps in the living area and bedrooms, large fridge, large TV screen etc. Staff extremely welcoming and friendly, offered us a free upgrade which was terrific! Beds are comfortable and clean, furnishing fairly new and pretty much spotless. Nice outdoor settings too. Plenty of secure off street parking. Will definitely be back next time we need a place to stay in Hamilton!

The room was nice and large which was great. The shower could have been a lot cleaner - the shower head was very yucky and hadn't been cleaned properly in a very long time. Overall, for the price, it was great. Awesome location - could walk down the hill into the main street of Hamilton very easily.

It was OK for one night. First impression when driving in was not good. It looked very run down. The room was clean but an odd layout. The kitchen had pots & pans but no hotplates to be able to use them. No sink either for washing up. We had a ground floor room behind the office because we were physically not able to get up stairs with our bags. This was very noisy with people coming & going until quite late. The door had a broken bolt so could not be used for extra security. The property has a lot of people who are visiting the hospital for treatment etc, so not your normal tourist motel.

Overall, our one night stay at the Tudor Motor Lodge was very comfortable. My only complaint is that the outside of the motel was a little rundown and we had been looking forward to a swim but the pool was closed (we had not been warned about this beforehand). However, the staff was friendly and helpful and very considerately offered to give us a first floor room because we had a heavy piece of luggage. All in all a comfortable place to spend the night.

You pay for what you get. Its not a terrible place, the location is good. The rooms like they are from the 1980s, but they are simple, clean and what you expect from a Motel Lodge.

I would recommend for something basic and simple and would stay again given the location.

Run down

Handy location to where we had to go, but the place was so run down and dirty, the carpet had stains and was sticky, rotting wood, dog poop outside our room, uncomfortable pillows and bed etc etc. It looks like it could have once been a nice place but hasn’t been looked after for a while and the owners haven’t spent any money on maintenance or convenience items like soap. I wouldn’t stay here again.

The stove was missing buttons one window was missing latches, electric blanket had no on off switch so couldn’t be used only 4 sets of linen 6 bed unit, towel rail hanging off wall and shower wouldn’t drain properly eeeeeewh!!!! And bathroom was like a cool store no heating or expelaire was clean though

I booked two rooms a some months before we arrived and requested they be together. They were not and were quite some distance apart. The person at reception appeared surly when I arrived to uplift the keys. One room was fine, however our room had a musty/sour/BO type smell which was unpleasant and was shabby compared to the other room.

Pros: close to town, on site parking, one bedroom apartment, kitchen with basic amenities.

Cons: smoking allowed on walkway outside room so smoke comes in neighbours windows, gardens are not well kept, pool did not look inviting and area around it desperately needs landscaping, terrible pillows, wifi very patchy, living area converted into sleeping area with two single beds, so had to sit on them or at dining table to watch TV, walls badly patched and painted and other repairs done half heartedly eg stovetop replacement and makes it looked very unloved. TV in main bedroom had been removed.

Very disappointing stay. The unit was shabby. Dirty hand marks on the walls beside the beds and the single sheets looked like they hadn’t been changed since the last stayers. Grotty shower and generally unhygienic and no effort to upgrade the deteriorating interior or exterior. And my daughter caught her foot on one of the many nails sticking up from the outside stairwell. I will never be staying here again

Very tired building inside and out. Not clean at all. We had to wash the dishes BEFORE we used them. Lack of cooking utensils, no full length mirror so multiple people using small bathroom mirror to get ready. No hot water in bathroom sink. Cleaned the toaster as it was a fire risk. Dirty bedding which was really gross. Wouldn’t recommend or stay again.

Felt a little dodgy

Ok for a one night stop over on our way North. Was a good price but did feel a little dodgy. Room was spacious and bed was comfortable and our car was there in the morning so all in all, ok. Feel like we survived it. Not sure I would recommend.

The motel is very central and within walking distance of the lake and restaurants. On the whole the room was clean but shabby. The shower could do with some mould treatment around the base and slightly more attention to cleaning. It was the kitchen that was disappointing. Pots that had been badly burnt and a scourer that was well past its use-by-date, a very rusty base in the microwave (which was replaced promptly) and buttons on the ceramic stove top that refused to cooperate.

Tudor Motel Lodge met out needs and was centrally located close to the CBD. We walked into town each night for dinner and walk back again with no problems. While the overall unit could have done with a spruce up, the cleanliness couldn't have been better. We were also upgraded to a larger room with an addition 2 x single beds which gave us additional space to spread out. Wifi was excellent.

I liked the spacious bathroom and kitchen area was well equipped. The only problem, the milk in the fridge was expired and the sheets were kinda itchy and dusty. Airpump was broken and was blowing air up to the ceiling so couldn't feel anything.

This trip was around a hospital visit for my father who is 82 and not very mobile. A call earlier in the week determined we would need a ground floor room. When we arrived the awesome lady took me too our room and had reserved the park outside our room with a cone for easy access. She set up the aircon for us and had tv going. Couldn’t have asked for better. Room was great with seperate room and nice and clean with everything flat and accessible for my father. Nice central location too. Will gladly stay again and recommend to others
