Although part of the hotel was being refurbished it didn't affect our stay. The room was ideal for our short stay, the breakfasts were very good with no delays on being served and the staff were very helpful at all times. Definitely use the Nevis Bank again when we travel to the West of Scotland.

Second time I’ve used this hotel in a year when visiting FW. Staff are always helpful friendly and chatty. Was able to leave luggage there ahead of check in each time as I arrived early morning on sleeper train each time. Rooms and en-suites are well presented, clean and comfortable. Only marked down in one score as hotel looks a bit grotty on exterior.

Lovely welcoming gent at reception when I arrived. Room was exceptionally clean and tidy... only issue for me was not having a wall mounted magnifying mirror in the bathroom to apply makeup. Next time I will take one with me. Many hotels do have these fixed. Makes all the difference for us ladies. Didn't have breakfast so cannot comment on that. Over all, a great place to stay and I would go again.

First issue with the property was NO LIFT and no disclosure that that was the case. The property was undergoing renovations (perhaps to add a Loft according to the front desk attendant) during our stay. Many of the parking spots near the entry doors were taken up by the construction vehicles/construction fencing. Additionally, the corridor where our room was located was under construction and missing all the wallpaper and had a big draft in the hallway. It would have been helpful to know about the construction prior to our arrival so that we could have decided whether that would change our plans.

The hotel room floors have a very weird and confusing layout with a series of steps and doors going in between various series of corridors. Lack of complimentary coffee..we specifically asked about coffee being available and the front desk attendant confidently said yes, but what he failed to mention was that the tiny coffee cups in The Brown’s restaurant was $3 gbp per cup. These cups only held probably 6-8 oz and that is a ridiculous price given that it was not complimentary refills. Had he told us that it was a per cup charge, we would have gone elsewhere. When your party each had 3-4 cups per person, that added up quickly and was a ridiculous amount of money for the quantity and quality of coffee that we received for those charges.

Given the inconvenience of construction and ths coffee situation, I would not recommend this hotel.

We had an excellent 2 night stay here, Staff were fantastic , special thank you to Lorna on reception who very kindly managed to dry our coats and boots a couple of times due to the non stop rain. Our breakfasts were superb , thanks to the Chef and Tina who was a breath of fresh and super helpful. Actually every member of staff that we met are an absolute credit to the Hotel. We will look forward to going back to this here again. There were renovation works going on whilst we were there but they weren't intrusive and the staff managed to keep the place spotless. A solid 10/10 from us.

Such a lovely place to stay, the Nevis Bank Inn was so very quaint and comfy for our two nights stay, we only wished we could stay for a few more!

The location is perfect for Fort William with excellent access to big ol’ Ben Nevis and the Fort William highstreet / Loch Eil that is if you can muster the determination to get up from their super soft beds that I for one could have stayed all day long in.

Brilliant place to stay 10/10 would lay their heads again ; )

I liked and recommend the Nevis Bank Inn. it is clean, comfortable, reasonably quiet and the tasteful decoration is in good condition. The staff are agreeable and helpful. I ate at the restaurant both nights I was there and found the food to be a bit expensive but overall delicious.

The only drawback I found was that I had to use the overflow parking across the very busy highway in front of the Inn. Still, I was grateful that there was parking.

Overall I would gladly book this inn again for a future trip.

The hotel room we stayed in (with twin beds) was in excellent condition, the furnishings looked updated and clean, as was the washroom. The only small complaint there is the shower pressure and washroom fan but overall the stay was so pleasant that it wasn't that big of a deal. The restaurant, Browns, was also great. David at concierge helped us with check in and helped us with any questions we had. He was very kind and helpful and added to our overall wonderful stay in Fort William! Would definitely recommend this place to others.

Clean rooms. The highlight of this hotel was Browns Restaurant (part of the hotel across from the lobby). Very good food and excellent breakfast. Property isn't walkable to the downtown shopping area. Overflow hotel parking lot across the street. Overall, we were satisfied and would likely stay here again.

The hotel was very nice and clean but there is no lift. Our room was on the top floor on the opposite side of the lobby. Pack light because it is a long carry. The room as large and so was the bathroom. Very little parking at the hotel but we were one of the lucky ones to get a slot. You must get tickets to ride the Jabobite ( Hogwarts) Express. 6 hours of fun! Also this hotel is walking distance to the train station.

As a senior citizen it was hard to find that they had no elevator. So we had to go up and down a few steps and then up 2 flights. Luckily a waiter was able to carry our suitcases upstairs . The room was good but the mattress sagged in the middle and you could feel the springs. The bathroom was good but had no safety bar to hold onto in the bath/shower . The light/fan was very noisy in there also .. We had a good supper in their restaurant.
In the morning check out was easy and we had cheerful help with our bags as the night before

Very nice staff. We really appreciated the air conditioning—it was an unusually hot day, so that was a big plus. The water pressure in the shower was extremely low, which made showering quite difficult; it took me at least 20 minutes. We understand it’s an older property, so we were fine with the small room. However, carrying our luggage up the stairs (no elevator) was definitely a challenge.

A must stay in Fort William

Fort William is a great city with a wonderful old town. Our stay here was nothing but excellent. At check in we received assistance to our room by the friendly staff in the hotel. Our room was clean, quiet and had plenty of space. It had two twin beds pushed together which were super comfortable. The hotel had a restaurant. We had a delicious dinner and cocktails as well as breakfast included in the morning. The service was so wonderful—everyone was friendly and kind. We will definitely stay here again!

Room was small, which is fine, but the only real negative was anytime the next room used their bathroom the sound of water running was so loud in my room it was impossible to sleep through.

It was okay. It definitely was not my favorite place that we stayed on our trip. My daughter wanted to take a shower when we got there and when she turned all the water the faucets were broken and were spraying water all over the place. We had to ask to be moved to another room. They wanted to just wait and call a plumber. It was also a little bit of a Trek to get to our room. It was up three different sets of stairs and through three different fire doors. The room was clean and spacious. like I said okay but not great. If we were to go back I would probably try somewhere else.

Spent one night here last month on way back from the Isle of Skye. Main small car park on hotel property was full but there is an overflow lot across the busy road. Nice clean room, very friendly staff, no lifts in hotel. Easy walk into the center of town. Dinner was excellent with great choices. Unfortunately, because of rain next morning, couldn’t do any hiking or ride the gondola as planned. Had hot fresh made breakfast before checking out at 10 am
Would recommend this hotel for your next trip to Fort William as it is the gateway to the Scottish Highlands..

Water pressure let it down as the water would have been cold by the time the water level was sufficient.
Squeaky floorboards. Any movement in corridors or adjacent rooms was very noticeable.
