For centuries travellers have enjoyed the warm welcome at this family-run Inn on the shores of Loch Linnhe. The Inn is in a fantastic location with stunning views from all the bedrooms across the loch to the mountains beyond and the entrance to the Great Glen.

The situation is ideal for touring the West Highlands of Scotland with the Hebridean islands of Mull, Iona and Skye, Ben Nevis, Glencoe, Aonoch Mor Ski Centre, Glenfinnan and Loch Ness all close enough for a day trip. Stunning views from the lovely en-suite rooms, good food using local produce and a friendly atmosphere in the bar make this an ideal place for families, couples and friends.

Please note that the quickest way to get to the Inn is to take the two minute crossing on the Corran Car Ferry which runs from 0630 hours to 2130 hours. The ferry does not run on the 25th and 26th December or on the 1st and 2nd January.

You are able to reach the Inn without taking the ferry using the A830 and A861 roads. From the south, take the A82 north towards Fort William.

Two miles after you pass through the village of Onich take the turning to your left sign-posted for the Corran Ferry. This car-farry ploughs back and forth across the loch every thirty minutes from 0630 hours to 2130 hours.

After the two minute crossing, you disembark and the Inn is directly in front of you. From the north take the A82 through Fort William and seven miles after you leave the town you will see the right turn for the Corran ferry.


Located in Fort William, Inn at Ardgour is by the sea, within a 15-minute drive of Loch Linnhe and Loch Leven. This beach inn is 16.1 mi (25.9 km) from Ben Nevis and 10.6 mi (17.1 km) from Inverlochy Castle.

Stay in one of 11 guestrooms featuring flat-screen televisions. Complimentary wireless internet access keeps you connected, and cable programming is available for your entertainment.

Very peaceful, although some vehicles pass at an astonishing pace for what is actually a 20mph limit.
The room was a reasonable size. As it was facing the Koch, there was a great view. The only downside was that the early morning ferries floodlight the hotel!

Hotel was great. Yes it is dated but the service makes up for the outdated accommodations. Rachel was so gracious. The food was outstanding both for dinner and the complimentary full breakfast. Would definitely recommend. And to the owners. Rachel is what made our experience so great without her it would have been mediocre.

For us nicely located between Edinburgh and Skye. Cozy little Inn with friendly staff and good food. We took a pretty walk to ardvour house. One of the front desk staff was very helpful showing us how to get there. The shower had only liquid shower gel but no washcloth. Breakfast was decent.

It's ok for an overnight stay.

It's an older hotel in need of updates. The staff was helpful and professional. We got there late and they were still serving dinner. They have decent basic food. If you you need a place to stop for the night, It will do.

Such a great stay in a quiet beautiful place!

Friends told us about this accommodation, so we booked for 2 nights. As far as Lochs are promoted to tourists, Loch Linnhe is underrepresented. It is a large, peaceful and very pretty Loch. Access to the Inn is most easy via a car ferry that docks directly opposite, and runs every 30mins. We had an upper Loch view room with ensuite. Guest lounge as well, and free onsite parking. Best view! The Inn does great dinners, lunches and breakfasts. Not much choice for food apart from the Inn, except for the Argdour Brewery close by that has beers and pizza's outdoors when open. Nicer place to stay than Fort William, also across this Loch. Easy to drove from the Inn around the Loch, or catch ferry towards Ben Nevis Nat Park. The team that run the Inn ate very hrlpful and nice. Highly recommend.

This was the highlight of our trip to the highlands. The inn is old and historic, simple but just right. No frills, but you can’t beat the view! Loved the community recorded and led walking tour. The bar and restaurant was warm and the food yummy (and there is no where else to go, fyi). It is well worth the minor detour on the ferry. Would definitely go again.

Worth taking the ferry for.

The hotel is right next to the ferry on the other of the loch from Glencoe. This means we had all the views and none of the traffic. Perfect! This is an older inn and the rooms were modest but comfortable and the food was universally excellent, both breakfast and dinner. Amazing seafood pie for dinner and a wide menu for breakfast including smoked haddock and kippers. Evening strolls from the hotel were a highlight with lovely views. Ferry runs regularly with no need to book and was fun to watch from the hotel.

We saw a seal and dolphins from our window! Pay extra when you book and get the breakfast. It's the perfect mix of cold and made to order items. The restaurant at the Inn requires reservations. It was worth it. The building is from the 1700s so it's quirky. But the rooms are completely serviceable, clean and well thought out. We could walk to a beach and a lighthouse.
We enjoyed our stay very much.

Isolated hotel in need of a refurb.

We have been touring Scotland on our motorcycle and have found accommodation to be very expensive. The Inn at Ardgour was no exception. For the price we paid for one night I would have expected breakfast and wifi in our room. WiFi is only available in the guest lounge and this is somewhat hit and miss. There are no other eating places in the area so we had an evening meal on site. The menu was uninspiring and our meal was average. We travelled to the hotel from Glenfinnan and had no idea the road A861 was single track with passing places, several cattle grids and in a terrible state of repair. Most unsuitable for a sportsbike like ours and had we known would not have booked the Inn. On the plus side, the ferry over to Corran is just outside.

70th Birthday Getaway

We arrived at the Inn later than expected due to the ferry not running so we had to travel a further hour or more round the loch. A heads up about the ferry wouldn’t have gone amiss, a month or more before we were informed that the Wi-Fi was only available in communal areas. Not a good start but was welcomed warmly. Our room was up a convoluted route of stairs and doors, this proved confusing on occasion. The twin bed room was comfortable and clean with a view of the loch. Space in the bathroom to place our accoutrements would have been better, otherwise acceptable. The food at the Inn was delicious and service was friendly and excellent. We became quite fond of the trip around the loch on the single track as we came across sheep and deer on the road. The trees changing colour, the mountains and the loch all made for a beautiful experience.

Great stay with a lovely view

We booked this hotel for 1 night whilst on our trip. First impressions were great. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was lovely and had a beautiful loch view. Bathroom was nice and clean and room was well presented. Bed was really comfy and we had a great nights sleep. It was very peaceful and loved hearing the water outside. Breakfast was really nice with a great selection of items. Overall our stay was great and we wouldn't hesitate to stay again if we are in the area again.

Excellent location and food very good with generous size portions. Excellent value for money. Covid restrictions rigorously maintained. Sometimes the owners manner comes accross as brusque but they are friendly and vet helpful. Consideration should be given to tha fact they they are ensuring all stay safe and take covid measures and operating with minimal staff to appreciate the toll this must be taking on them and the business. Clearer written instructions would pehaps assist all to understand the expectations when using the bar and restaurant. Very enjoyable stay and would not hesitate to go back.

Great place to stay

We spent two nights here with our dog. We had a sea view room on the first floor. The room was very clean although the decor and furnishings felt a bit dated despite it obviously being recently redecorated. Breakfast was well cooked and plentiful. We also ate here in the evening. Choice was reasonable and portions huge. Dining furniture could do with an upgrade and some attention to interior design wouldn't go amiss. Overall no hesitation in staying here again
