Helpful staff. Had to ask for bath towels as housekeeping had forgotten to leave some in the room. Very disappointed that the hand pump dispensing real ale, which had been enjoyed on previous visits, had been removed by the new owners!

The hotel is very clean and the staff were fantastic; really knowlegable about the local area.
Car parking was somewhat difficult but mostly down to huge hire cars not using the space well, and staff were accomodating to help work around it.

The hotel is a quaint building overlooking the Loch. We had a lake view room which was quite spacious. However, the building is very tired. It took three tries to flush the toilet. There was no hairdryer and teeny tiny shampoo and conditioner bottles. This was different than other hotels in Scotland.

The property surrounding is well maintained and beautiful. The hotel, restaurant, and room are cozy and welcoming. I even joked that if I ever decide to get married, I want it to be here.

This is an amazing place, full of magic. Obviously you have Glencoe a few minutes away but then you get to this 400 yr old piece of history and you are welcomed by the amazing staff and you are then living a piece of a fairy tale. Don’t miss walking the gardens at night!! Amazing breakfast, incredible dinner and please share a drink at the centuries old bar late at night. Incredible memories.

Beautiful location, quaint little spot. I would give it 4 1/2 stars but I didn’t get a wink sleep because the mattresses were less comfortable than sleeping on the ground in a tent. It wasn’t even what I would call a mattress. The double bed was actually two twin box springs pushed together. Unbelievable that such a beautiful and quaint hotel wouldn’t spend a little bit of money making sure their guests got a comfortable night sleep

We were so happy to find this charming small inn right on the water. The rooms are lovely and quaint. The staff is so welcoming and friendly too. But the standout was the dinner. The chef made the absolute best fish and chips we had in Scotland and that is saying a lot! Also he suggested a lovely Rose to compliment. A lovely way to spend an evening on the way up to Skye.

Great location and a cute building. However, basic upgrades and attention to details are needed considering how expensive the place is. The tea kettle in the room was old and gross-needed to be deep cleaned (preferably replaced, the bottom had a gross slime on it). Only thing provided in the bathroom was soap, not even shampoo. No fresh coffee was available for breakfast even though I showed up during the scheduled breakfast time (8:30, a full hour before breakfast was over). They never made more coffee just provided instant which is obviously not as good. If there are guests that want fresh coffee there should be fresh coffee provided. The solution provided was to charge me for coffee from the machine which was ridiculous. Why not just make more fresh coffee or at least make some from the machine without asking the guest to pay? The cost for the stay was over £250 so the fact they are trying to charge for coffee when they refuse to make more is just ridiculous and for lack of a better description, lazy. Plus they didn’t even have hot water available (it was empty) if I had of wanted tea instead.

We only stayed for one night and did not book more than a basic double room, though I think I might have got upgraded to a loch view, thank you. I would have to book a different room if staying for longer as it was quite tight with a very small bathroom, nowhere to hang towels or put toiletries. One side of the bed was ok but the other sloped so a good nights sleep was not had by one of us.

Slightly odd attitude from staff including a query about going out for a cigarette or to our car at night - we were told the external doors would be locked - from a receptionist sitting with wet hair in his boxer shorts ... so overall quirky but fine.

Staff very welcoming to children. Great gluten free and vegetarian meal choices at the restaurant along with a good priced children’s menu. Our family room had a very generous queen sized bed (? may have been king sized) and a sofa bed. Well priced for Valentines weekend. Would definitely stay again

We also had both our breakfasts and dinners in their restaurant for two days and they were excellent. We had a variety of dietary needs and everyone had delicious choices. This is a charming spot on the water with nice views. It's a bit old and worn (though I hear they're getting ready to do a full update), and the bathroom was the smallest I'd seen in a long time with a heating system I didn't attempt to use for a shower (in fairness, I was in one of the smaller style rooms they offered). That said, the folks who work in the dining area are lovely and the food was very good - best mussels I've ever had! Definitely recommend stopping in for a meal.

This hotel is in a beautiful yet convenient location, if driving, just off the main road to/from Glencoe. It was peaceful with a stunning outlook, which you get the full view of from the restaurant. We had the family room, which was spacious but didn’t have the benefit of the good view. The room was lovely but the shower was not hot so we were given a key to another room to use the electric shower there. The shower was a mains sourced one and the boiler had just been serviced so hadn’t heated the tank up by the time we needed the shower on arrival. The room was warm and comfortable otherwise. We ate here and the food was excellent. The breakfast was very good too with the beautiful view an added bonus. Highly recommend this lovely hotel.

What truly made our Scotland trip was the gin tour. The owner gave us the tour and shared his passion for Gin. Never liked Gin till I came here! The hotel was old and the room was very small but it served it purpose. Be sure to book dinner as dining options are scarce in the area and it’s a bit of a drive. The food was good and the quaint bar that they had was outstanding. The bartender knew his craft and suggested drinks that suited our tastes and was very cozy with the fireplace lit.

The hotel was spotless, cosy, staff very friendly especially the Italian barman. The food tasted great and views were stunning! I loved the outdoor area and surrounding grounds are fab! You can go down to a beach area or go a woodland walk. The only thing I feel could improve it further would be to have a little bit bigger option for breakfast. Oh and more haggis in the Balmoral chicken so that I could actually taste it but other than the food tasted amazing!

The hotel is very run down. We had broken blinds in our room, no overhead light in the bathroom, heavily stained cushions on the bed,I could go on. Breakfast is very limited with just two choices and the ingredients are of poor quality. The only positive was that the bed was clean and comfy. The website doesn’t reflect the actual state of the rooms, and it’s extremely overpriced and wouldn’t recommend.

We loved our stay at Loch Leven!! Impressed from the time we drove up and saw how lovely it was! Free car park, great dinner food selections, the bar opens at 3pm which was lovely. The staff are friendly and kind. We were a little overloaded on several Scottish breakfasts in a row and they were more than accommodating to figure out an alternative. It's a lovely spot especially if you need a quiet break from the hustle of tourist season!

With the unfortunate heat wave our room was very warm with no fan. Being upstairs made it even warmer. Our bathroom was receiving an odar from the kitchen in the morning and evening which was usually garlic which was not overwhelming but not always pleasant. Our view was of the rear of the hotel which was the opposite side of the hotel that had the view of the river. Not the best view.

The view of the river was beautiful. However you are right by the bridge that goes over that same river and there is traffic noise. The rooms are in disrepair. Floors are uneven and squeaky. Tap on the sink was not bolted down and moved whenever you switched on the water. Shower was very tiny. We were given a room upstairs and there’s no lift so you have to carry all your bags up. We wouldn’t stay there again or recommend.

Beautiful location and friendly staff, however, this is a very dated hotel and is not worth the roughly 340 GBP per night that we paid. We stayed in what is supposed to be one of their nicer rooms - the deluxe double. The room felt very dated, and not in a good way. No hair dryer or telephone in the room either. Small and uncomfortable shower. Toilet squished against a wall. Bed was comfortable at least. We had dessert in the restaurant in the evening which was very good, but breakfast was poor. The scrambled eggs were tasteless. While not a terrible hotel, a very poor value for the price.

The views from the restaurant are beautiful, but not spectacular enough to make up for the exorbitant price per night. My mom and I vacationed for 2 weeks in Scotland. We stayed at 8 different small hotels, inns and airbnbs all in the same price range as Loch Levan Hotel. They were all simple, clean and comfortable with kind and accommodating hosts. The Loch Levan hotel was our last stay in Scotland and the worst accommodations I have had anywhere in the world in the past 20 years. Upon arrival we noticed that the room was very hot and very dirty but after a full day of travel from the Isle of Skye, we decided to just ignore it, go to bed and address it with management in the morning. That was a mistake….The beds were so uncomfortable that you could feel the springs in them. The bathroom was filthy, hair in the drain and covered in mold. The room smelled of room perfume, likely to cover up the smell of mold, the Wi-Fi didn’t work, and there were cobwebs in the room as well. It literally felt like we were staying in an animal stable or a bad hostel. The next morning I asked if we could move rooms into something cleaner and a newer bed for our 2nd night. We were told that there was no other rooms. We could not stay another night in the room. We asked for our money back for the second night since we were going to have to check out and find new accommodations. I was told to email management for a refund request. I sent multiple emails with NO REPLY. I contacted hotels.com to file a grievance and they too were unable to get ahold of anyone. Find another place to stay. ANYWHERE would be better.

Our room was comfortable and quiet…except the squeaky floor, but c’mon, the place was built in 1700. The staff was fantastic. Stefan was the check in guy, and the bartender. He was super friendly and helpful, and had a great sense of humor! The food was delicious. We had the lamb shank and burger one night, along with breakfast the next morning. We had the fish and chips, and the burger the 2nd night, all of which were fantastic! The bar…the bar is the reason we booked, and it didn’t disappoint! We drank and chatted with the other customers both evenings and tried different whiskeys. We had great conversations with people from the US, England, Germany, and of course, the bartender, Stephan from Italy!

The shower did not work. There was very minimal water pressure and the temperature could not be controlled. I contacted the man on staff that day who I think was the manager but was lying saying he wasn’t and he came to the room and could not fix it. He couldn’t get anyone out to fix it and did not offer us a stay in a different room or anything. They gave us 40 pounds off of our dinner but that’s just not good enough for not having a shower to use during our stay. When I approached the man about it he was very rude to my wife and I and just rushed us away. I have tried many times to contact mamagement through email and phone calls and have not heard anything back even though they said someone will get in touch with me. This is Terrible business practice and the facility should probably be shut down until they can provide basic stay needs.

Two miles after you pass through the village of Onich take the turning to your left sign-posted for the Corran Ferry. This car-farry ploughs back and forth across the loch every thirty minutes from 0630 hours to 2130 hours.
After the two minute crossing, you disembark and the Inn is directly in front of you. From the north take the A82 through Fort William and seven miles after you leave the town you will see the right turn for the Corran ferry.
