The good: pleasant staff at checkin. The price was inexpensive.

The bad: the exterior walkways and parking are not clean. There was litter in the hallways for the duration of our stay. The rooms look nothing like they are pictured online. The carpeted hallways were worn through. When we checked into our room, the smell of bleach and cigarettes was overwhelming. We opened the window for an hour to vent the smell. We left and came back a few hours later and it just smelled like cigarettes. After staying there for 2 days, all of our belongings smelled like cigarettes.

The paint in the room was old and stained. All sorts of liquids have been splattered on the walls and never cleaned. The bathroom tile and grout is old and moldy. The toilet bowl had permanent stains. There was a hole in the wall. The smoke detector was disconnected. The pillows were 1/3 full of filling. We found 3 roaches during the stay. There are no amenities of any kind. You get a bed, four walls, bathroom, towels and soap. No other toiletries, no coffee, no hairdryer (not even at the front desk.)

But besides all of that, we hated it.

The pictures are deceptive. My room didn’t have working appliances, a working phone, or a complete bathroom door. There was no trash can and the comforter was as thin as the sheets. Power was out in my unit for over 16 hours, which is completely unacceptable. I’ve stayed in many Motel 6 across the country and this is by far the worst. The only great thing about this property was the night auditor AJ. He problem solved at 2am what day staff and MAINTENANCE could not fix in a matter of minutes; also after maintenance and management phones went straight to voicemail, which is completely unacceptable.

Air conditioner was loud, they had toilet paper stuffed in the broken light switch cover and a plastic bag covering the smoke detector. Beds and pillows very uncomfortable. And the room smelt terribly of smoke (even though it was supposed to be a non-smoking room).

We didn’t need the room for long but this was definitely one is the worse motel 6’s we’ve stayed at. Mattresses were rock hard, pillows totally flat, no trash can. The location was pretty unsafe for families and it was very loud with screaming etc. Probably fine if you’re tired from traveling. Staff was very friendly.

Hotel room I stayed in needs updated. Looked like something from the 80,s. Door seal on hotel room door had a gap, could see light through the crack and bathroom room door was kicked in at some point, was split in half. Easily just needs a 100 dollar door, which is what I paid for the room. Too much !!!!! Honestly just a few dollars invested in the room would make a big difference.

The room was okay but no good lighting. There was no light fixture in the bathroom, so I could barely see. The toilet dispenser was ripped out leaving tissue on top of the toilet “not sanitary”! Taped and dirtychairs need to be thrown out. Taped items from the tv stand to the bed bottom😒😒 The slamming doors at night, but I see why due to unsafe doors. Slimy bathroom shower and I didn’t bring shower shoes which was a big mistake!!!😡😡😡

The room itself was the worst I have ever stayed in, even as far as motels go. There were cheez-its on the floor, which was sticky, the bathroom still had... hairs from the previous occupants around the toilet, and the room itself lacked advertised amenities like a microwave. However, the man at the front desk was very polite and helpful to us during our stay, so I give an extra star just for the service. It is a place to sleep somewhat comfortably and nothing more.

Room was very dated but super clean. A fresh coat of paint would greatly improve it. There was however, a long dark hair on one of the pillows, hopefully from housekeeping, and the TV doesn't offer local stations. The bed was extremely comfortable. Check in was quick and easy. The girl was very nice. Pets are free which is a huge bonus. I would most likely stay here again.

The room and shower were neglected. The door didn't fully shut which made a cold draft, thankfully it did lock. There was trash everywhere outside the rooms, and dog poop on the floor outside our room. The faint smell of smoke permeates everything. Not a great place to stay at all, but I guess it was a bed for the night.

Well, there were a lot of shady people hanging around by my window talking a lot of noise people coming and going doors. Slammi kept having to look out the window thinking. Maybe my car was gonna get broken into this kind of a sketchy place? I wouldn't recommend it. I like Motel 6. I've stayed at many album, but this one too many sketchy people there. No thanks, the staff was okay. And all the people running the place were, all right. The room was not the best room that I've ever stayed in at a Motel 6, but yeah, just a lot of sketchy people out a lot of trash on the side of the building. I was a little disappointed.I didn't sleep that good

The single worse hotel room I have ever stayed at. Room smelled like smoke, holes in the walls (a lot), light didn't work, flies... and the property looked like a run down crack house. They would not change my room but did offer a slight discount. Luckily I survived... I am not sure how any MOTEL 6 chain could operate at such a low standard. Sad and frustrating.

The rooms were gross, uncle and aunt had a room on the back end and the window looked like there was a bullet hole (window shattered)
Tub was gross.
Our room table was leaning against the wall, mount broken, friends room was dirty, shower was again gross.

Drug activity out back from the housing plans. Felt very uncomfortable being there.

Asked for refund we got refunded for 2 rooms but nothing for the third room since I booked through Expedia.
Was told to reach out to Expedia and I did and still have not heard anything back nor a refund.

It was fifthly, mold around the tub, flies, and roaches activity crawling. I was working on my parents home and just need a place to stay. The desk gave me a near empty spray can for the flies. I slept with my clothes on and the dog on the bed with all coverings pull down. Horrible place and I threaten call the county health authorities. Please do not refer any one to this place.

Dirty hotel room that was falling apart. Light switches didn’t work, the smoke detector was falling out of the wall, and the room door was hanging off the hinges. I had to pick it up to get the deadbolt to engage.

There were flies buzzing around the room when I walked in.

The AC unit barely worked set to 60, and it made a loud clicking noise that kept me up all night.

I am not one to complain and I rarely leave reviews, but I think it's important to warm others. This hotel was one of the dirtiest I have ever stayed in. The sheets, pillows, and towels were all covered with hair. I could not sleep in the bed and had to lay down my own clothes over the top sheet to sleep. The hallway to my room had the lights broken and beer cans in the hallway, which made it feel very unsafe. There was also a damp unpleasant odor coming from the ceiling. I would not return.

I would not recommend staying there as a solo female traveler. Lots of people are hanging around the property. Was traveling across country with my dog and I saw people snooping around my car while I was unpacking for the night.

Place was a dump. Took forever to check in. After checking in the person behind the front desk has to give you a blanket for you to use. Then has to “check your room” probably to see if it’s “clean enough”. I also got a non smoking room and it smelled like 100 people smoked cigarettes before we got in there. The air conditioner didn’t work and was extremely dirty. System looked like it was going to fall off the wall. Floor was never swept. Worst part the door didn’t latch the full way. I didn’t even even stay the night I left and just drive home didn’t get home till 2am but was way better than staying at this dump.

The area was poorly lit and dirty on the outside. The TV fell off the wall and hit me in the face. When i called to complain, they stated they did not have another room available. The bathroom wasn't clean with old urine stains and moldy shower curtains and walls. Again i begged for someone to come clean and they never showed. Upon checking out i was told i could only get a discount. Final cost of $55 but i have to call Expedia myself. I will never stay they again.

I’m not sure who was giving all these rave reviews but my experience was far from that. Don’t get me wrong. Front desk gentleman was lovely and accommodating. First room was filled with flies. They were all over the bathroom mirror. Also, the bathroom lights did not work and there was no toilet paper. Second room was marginally better but the AC didn’t work. They did offer me a fan though. I declined. Third room was the winner. Still had flies, but nothing a hand towel turned into fly swatter couldn’t contend with. Plus, front desk staff told me I wanted to be in this front building as this was the safest. Gulp. This is an old, very dated Motel 6. Looks as though they are renovating a little at a time. You will be able to count the springs in the mattress. FYI…People are living here. But as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. Under $70 and pets stay free.

Desk person was very kind, friendly and quickly fixed what he was able. I dont think the surrounding area was real welcoming, but we had no problems with noise or people in the area. They dont have breakfast. Great price!!

Security was good. The access doors remained locked and the room locks were solid. The room was very clean: tub, toilet and sink were all literally spotless. I loved the luxury vinyl plank flooring, and it also was clean. It felt clean underfoot and when I wiped up spilled water with the white terrycloth floor mat, it came up clean. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 on cleanliness was because when I arrived there was a lot of garbage outside but the next day they cleaned all that up. Sidewalks outside of the rooms also could use a good power washing; I wondered what all those accumulated spills had been. The stairwell had a bad smell, but who cares when the room is clean. The bed was comfortable. The TV had a bunch of channels. Motel 6 is a no-frills operation: no fridge, no microwave, no iron, no closet, not one hanger, no shampoo or conditioner or lotion, and all the furniture is bolted to the wall. But for the price, I will definitely stay there again next time I'm in the area. Secure and clean are top priorities in my book and Motel 6 Youngstown does a good job with that. Staff was friendly and professional too.

TV wouldn’t turn on, casing around TV broken, chair broken, “nightstand” next to bed hanging off the wall, toilet paper holder missing, towel bar missing and poop streaks in the toilet! I checked in and left and didn’t return to the room until midnight, had I not been exhausted I would have left and found somewhere else to stay. The area is super sketchy and seems to have quite a few people living in the motel. I was very uncomfortable staying there as a lone occupant and will NOT return. It’s sad how this place has taken a turn for the worse over the years.

This was the worst Motel 6 I have ever seen. Walked into the room and had to kill 6 flies before I gave up. No blanket, only a sheet and top cover. No shampoo, no hair dryer. And, an ironic twist, no light in the bathroom, ha! It was broken. I had no choice but to stay there I needed a place to sleep for a few hours. An embarrassment to the hotel chain.
