My wife and I spent three nights at this hotel. We enjoyed the facilities- both in the spa and the surrounding areas. The staff are outstanding and take a real pride in ensuring that all our needs are taken care of. Food was excellent and service could not be faulted. Highly recommended.

Amazing hospitality, stunning views, incredible fo

Villa Lecchi is a beautiful property with some of the best service and hospitality we’ve experienced in our 2 week trip in Italy. The staff were warm and attentive, the views were breathtaking, and the food was exceptional. We had breakfast, lunch, and dinner multiple times and every meal was delicious. Dining on the terrace at sunset was unforgettable.

The pool area was enchanting, offering a peaceful atmosphere and panoramic views.

Our room was spacious, but being on the first floor, there was a bad smell coming from the bathroom drains, which worsened on the last day. We didn’t report it, but we think it is a known issue and would probably not be present in higher room floors. The AC made odd noises at times and the mattress was very firm, causing back pain. A thicker mattress topper would have helped, the one provided was too thin.

Overall, we would highly recommend Villa Lecchi, it was a great way for us to end our 2 week trip.

Best hotel in Tuscany! We really enjoyed our stay there. The owners are on the place and they do most of the work, so it’s an authentic and local. The food is amazing, worth trying everything if you have time. Rooms were always cleaned every day and arranged. The staff is very friendly and kind. There is a spa, pool and incredible views to enjoy. Thank you Villa Lecchi’s staff and owners.

Slightly out of the way.
Would be better if the spa facilities ( warm pool, steam room, etc) be kept open till 8 pm and drinking water be made freely available. Lovely stay overall.

We stayed at Villa Lecchi three nights in late October 2021. It was a very nice place to stay in Chianti. The views from the terrace are simply breathtaking! We had drinks there every evening watching the sun drop behind the hills of Tuscany and the staff was extremely attentive and friendly. You get some nice snacks with each drink order and they change every night. The room was nice, clean, and also had a good view. The restaurant was decent as well— we had dinner there one night and the food was good, though not served hot enough. The lighting is a bit bright if you’re looking for something romantic but then again is fine if you’re there with young kids… There is also a beautiful outdoor eating area and pool area with even better views which we did not try due to the cooler weather. There’s a nice running trail in the valley below the hotel and some great roads to run or cycle on. And of course the location is central to all the region has to offer. A very nice hotel that deserves it’s excellent reputation!

Did not stay at property. Due to health-related reasons, needed a health facility/gym. Expedia's description inaccurately states that Villa Lecchi has one. Upon arrival to the facility, learned that there is no health facility/gym and that this has been conveyed to Expedia more than 20 times via email, however, there has been no correction to the site.

Villa Lecchi was the PERFECT place to stay in Tuscany!

GROUNDS/AESTHETICS - WOW - Let me start by saying that the photos online don't do this place any justice! Sitting at one of the highest (if not THE highest) points in the area, this property gives you full 360 views of surrounding hills and vineyards. Inside, you'll find original stucco murals on the walls of the bedrooms that are carefully and thoughtfully decorated with antiques. The grounds were very well kept, beautiful, quiet, and peaceful.

STAFF - The property is still family-owned and operated by the descendants of the man who wrote Pinoccho! They are so friendly and accommodating. Upon arrival, they upgraded our room and showed us its unique backstory and design features (it had a Versace bathroom, what?!). Maybe they upgraded us simply because they're nice and it was a slower week, or maybe they pitied me for being 33 weeks pregnant.

FOOD & SERVICES - The breakfast was a huge, diverse spread and it was very delicious and fresh! They are usually closed for lunch, but if you let them know a day in advance that you'd like to dine there, they will open just for you (again, the staff are so accommodating). For the price, the spa services were good, not great (not the standard in most North American spas), but still relaxing and enjoyable.

LOCATION - It's not a far drive at all to Siena, and being more in the country gives an authentic Tuscany experience. You will definitely want a rental car to get around!

The place is absolutely divine, the sunset out of this world and it really felt like a place of old times. The sounds of the dogs, cats, birds and roosters in the wee hours of the morning was awesome. The room was big and clean.

I only have two things to point out that needs improvement:
The beds were awful, felt like cheap beds and for the first time ever, I got back pain from sleeping on a bad bed.
The second is the service during breakfast. It depended on who the waitress was. For example, if the first lady that served us coffee hadn’t informed us that they made eggs in the kitchen and that it was included we wouldn’t have known since the other ladies the other days only asked for coffee. If a platter of food eg tomatoes, cheese or bread emptied, they didn’t refill it.

But besides from that, the stay was fantastic snd the dinner served at night was the best we had during our stay.

Beautiful hotel grounds, ok inside, Spa closed

Hotel grounds are beautiful. Room was ok but very basic. Hotel was advertised as Spa which is why we chose it. It turned out Spa shut for a few weeks and apparently it happens every year in September. We couldn’t use it at all. This scheduled closure wasn’t communicated to us in any way until the arrival. Had we known that in advance, we would’ve chosen a different place to stay.

La vita villa Bella

A family owned villa in Tuscany, which old school charm. It’s a bit run down but still quite a dreamy location, and could use more service. But nevertheless the hotel grounds offers extensive relaxing spots at the pool or the restaurant. Which actually make it an ideal location for a party! Definitely the kind of place I would love to bring friends to, even if it’s a bit run down. There’s something magical about this place and I hope that it stays a family business in generations to come.

This was my second stay at Villa leaching, 16 years pretty much to the day.

The vistas at this Wonderful small hotel (37 rooms), cannot be missed as something out of a fairy book. Well appointed rooms in a classically shabby chic setting giving a feel of the “real” to confirm the beauty of the “scene.”

Meanwhile, every day is offered a wonderful breakfast buffet included with the room, as well as fresh and well prepared dinner presentations (for an extra tariff), served al fresco or within a nicely decorated dining room. While the Villa also features a spa and a pool.

The Villa is itself about 25 km north of Siena and 50 km south of Firenze (Florence). Meanwhile, at all times we were treated as family. So in sum there could be nothing better as base for your “tour du Tuscany”!

One of the best places we have ever been

Without doubt one of the favorite hotels I stayed. Excellent hospitality, it's owned by the same family in the last 30 years. It located in the center of Tuscany, in a small village, with wonderful view (12 minutes from the Hi-way) . There is a good restaurant in place.

Wonderful destination

We loved everything about our stay at Villa Lecchi. The furnishings in our Jr Suite were exquisite and the staff was extraordinarily friendly. This is the perfect location for touring the small hilltop cities of Tuscany. We would recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to stay outside of the larger cities of Florence and Sienna. The views from the hotel balcony are stunning and it is a short drive to places such as San Gimignano and Montireggioni.

Amazing views

This place had the most amazing views I have ever seen high up in Tuscany.
We had 2 junior suites which were very spacious and had a spiral staircase up to a tower with views all around.
The breakfast was very good, they cooked eggs to order. We didn't make it to breakfast the day we were leaving but they brought us a cappuccino on the terrace which I thought was a nice touch.
We had dinner here on our second night . I remember the lamb I had was so good. The service was very good too.
I would certainly recommend this hotel.

Beautiful Family Owned and Operated Villa

Villa Lecchi is amazing! We truly enjoyed our stay. The villa is located in the beautiful Chianti countryside. It is surrounded by rolling hills and vineyards, but it is only an hours drive from Florence-so very convenient. Siena is nearby, as well as multiple wineries and castles. Between site seeing and relaxing by the pool, you will have plenty to do.

The Villa itself is gorgeous! It is beautifully decorated, clean, and well kept. Our room was ornate and one of a kind with frescos on the walls and antique furniture. The patio view is breathtaking. I highly recommend enjoying a bottle of wine there at sunset. The food is homemade and perfectly delicious! I strongly recommend buying the half board, it is a fantastic deal that includes a wonderful breakfast buffet and 4 course dinner.

The best part of Villa Lecchi however, is definitely the service. When we arrived we were warmly greeted by the owner's son. He was expecting us and knew our names. He was very friendly and upgraded our room free of charge. He then carried in our luggage and gave us advice for our day trip. Later that evening we met the owner, his mother. She explained the history of the Villa while giving us a tour. She is incredible- she bakes cakes for breakfast, hosts, cleans etc! This is truly a family operated business. They go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. I would 100% stay there again. I wish their business the best of luck!

A gem in Tuscany

This family owned four star hotel is such a gem. The family wants all its guests to feel at home and they make it that way so seamlessly. From meals to offers of day trips, to the quiet but majestic scenery, the stay was amazing. Located in the heart of Tuscany with an amazing view and food from their own gardens and freshly laid eggs, this was an amazing stay. I don't think we will ever be able to eat another store bought tomato after eating their flavorful fresh from the garden ones.

Stunning villa and amazing hospitality!

We just stayed for 3 nights at Villa Lecchi in late August 2016. I simply cannot say enough good things about this hotel. Firstly, stunning views and amazing location at a hilltop. The villa itself is large and has all the amenities you can imagine, except that the restaurant is only open for lunch if you have booked prior. The food at the restaurant was truly amazing, in particular the beef with truffle sauce. However, the main shining point of this hotel is the absolutely amazing hospitality shown by Laura and her family that elevates this to a 7-star experience! When our flight came in late, we reached Poggibonsi after the last bus had left. A quick call to the hotel using the pay phones at the bus stop and Laura popped by to pick us up, no questions asked. She arranged a car for us to drive around Tuscany last minute at a great price, gave us great recommendations on where to go and generally made everything hassle free. We couldn't be happier about our stay and will definitely be back!

Stunningly beautiful building, ground & views

The hotel has the most spectacular setting and the views are truly breathtaking. Villa Lecchi is a beautiful building and the rooms are in keeping with the style of the residence - not too modern but contemporary with a nod to the grandeur of the villa. The bathroom in our room was particularly nice and very large.
The staff at Villa Lecchi are exceptionally friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. I would say this hotel is ran by a small team so it's not like one of the large resorts where you can expect staff at your beck and call - the food/drink availability outside of meal times is very ad hoc, perhaps could be helpful to have someone come over to the pool area once an hour and check if anyone wants drinks, but that's just one thing I can think of to improve at all, everything else is just perfect and to a degree this does add to the laid back and peaceful nature of a stay here. Thank you to all at Villa Lecchi, it was a delightful trip and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending!

This is a quiet hotel on.a quiet road, with specuatular views, and easy driving distance to many places of interest. In addition, there any a number of nice roads and walking paths almost immediately outside the grounds of the hotel. Staff friendly and helpfu.

Retreat with a view

The family who own and manage this lovely 18th Century villa are so welcoming. They go out of their way to show you the hidden gems on the property, including the spa. The rooms are large and comfortable and we had a terrific turret that gave us an incredible view of the area. It was a great spot for reading or a game of scrabble after a day of walking or touring. There was a small spiral staircase that led to it that made it even more interesting.

The food was delicious. There are many offerings from the family garden and surround that delight the palate and I believe you will really enjoy the variety. The breakfast buffet is scrumptious with home made cakes, jams and pizza, as well as lovely cheeses and yogurt from the nearby dairy.

Be prepared for the fact that they host bus tours of the region, but it would be my first choice of tour if I knew Villa Lecci was one of the stops. The bus tours do make the dining room a bit noisy at times but you can adjust your timing or seating to modify this reality.

This is a great place to travel if you have children as there is a large outdoor pool they can play in after a day of touring.

Finally, this spot is a good place to use as a home base for tours of Siena and Florence as well as the many town's in the area such as Volterra, which is worth the drive to see the view. There is lots to see, or just relax and enjoy.

Fortunate to be upgraded to executive suite - amazing views. Very helpful staff in family run villa/hotel. Very peaceful and well located to visit Sienna, Florence, San G. etc. Motorway just 10 minutes away but totally secluded. A prosecco on the terrace is a treat to behold.

Incredible property. Amazing location and view. Winderful owners and great history. Our suite had two main rooms plus acces to iur own tower room with a spiral staircase. The single flaw was an overly hard bed. Not just just firm but hard. Otherwise an amazing place.

Zimmer und Indoor Wellness müssten mal etwas „überarbeitet“ werden, da merkt man den Nabel der Zeit.

Underbart hotell på den italienska landsbygden med en otroligt vacker utsikt åt alla håll. Fantastisk mat och en otrolig service från den vänliga personalen. Ett stort plus att det finns tre platser laddning av elbil på hotellets parkering.

Nice Villa/Manor/Castle Experience in Wine Area

This manor house offered us a nice base when we were visiting Chianti wine area. It is very beautiful and cosy, although it is not as small and home like as some of the smaller countryside hotels/pensions, it has good services, up-class restaurant, swimming pool area and nice view from the hill. In a 15 min drive there are several places to take a look at (like Siena), as well as other good restaurants and wine farms.

Villa de caractère, charmante et vieillissante

Maison d’epoque, beaucoup de charme mais mérite un peu de rafraîchissement et entretien. Très peu de personnel car c’est familial donc peu de service. C’est très chaleureux mais un peu cher pour le service offert.
