The property is very quiet and great for a relaxing experience to rest.
The staff is very helpful , especially with organizing transportation as the hotel is not in the centre of Siena and it is sometimes difficult to find a local taxi.
The breakfast buffet had one of the best varieties I’ve seen during my trip where I stayed at 5 different hotels over 2 weeks.
My only criticism is that the key ring for the room key is very big and heavy and not easy to carry around. I would suggest investing in smaller/ lighter ones

The highlight of our 2 week trip was our 3 days and nights here, we wish we had allocated more days here. The entire area is magical, rent a car and explore! The staff was so friendly and helpful with anything you need. It is quiet and serene, you feel like you're at someone's house.

Pros:Best hotel hairdryer ever! Beautiful grounds and surroundings. Lovely pool and outdoor facilities if the weather had permitted....Lovely restaurant staff. Be prepared to walk outside a bit to the restaurant, pool, reception and parking. The shower was awkward. Very limited storage space for clothes, luggage, etc. No outlets for charging other than the bathroom. Only one pair of slippers for 2 guests. Basic toiletries. Overall, a gorgeous property. The hotel was 3 star at best with a 3.5 star restaurant and 4 star restaurant staff. Bring your own hair conditioner!

My wife and stayed here for our 30th wedding anniversary for 5 nights and had a rental car to visit surrounding towns like San Gimignano and Sienna. It is located about 25 minutes from both towns and has on site parking.
Postives : beautiful maintained site, pool, grounds in the quiet country. Staff are very accommodating. Dining area next to pool is amazing. Breakfast buffet is the best we had during our two trips to Italy. Rooms were cleaned daily. Reception staff are friendly and helpful. Dining staff were very friendly and accommodating. We would stay here again. Perhaps for 3-4 nights instead of 5 nights as you do see everything in about 4 days within an hour driving distance of site. Shower was hot with great pressure, rooms clean.
Negatives: initially the bed mattress was very firm but after raising with reception they immediately brought in bed comforters and placed this under the sheets and it was perfect then. We had a room with a loft, however I am tall and the loft had a low ceiling so managed to hit my head a couple of times on the beam entering the bedroom.
Overall I would give this site a 4.8 out of 5.

We stayed only 1 night at the hotel as part of a Tuscany tour. The hotel has a lot of different accomm options . Our classic room was very roomy with its own loft bedroom. The dining was excellent especially the steak option. Staff very friendly and as we ended up with a car flat tyre the staff went out of their way to help change the tyre and then assist with locating a suitable tyre garage to allow us to get this fixed.

However after waiting 30 years to get to Tuscany and enjoy the beauty and relax at what is an expensive resort was VERY shocked that we might as well have been in a loud nightclub until almost 1230am with the wedding music blasting. So incredibly disappointing. Left feeling very ripped off for what we paid. All staff seemed to always try an upsell. Order a drink and they would suggest another one.. usually 5 eu more. We ordered the Florentine steak after waiting years to try it and had to send it back as it was thought and chewy.

This place is a hidden gem! The property is absolutely stunning and has that Tuscany country charm. The pool is amazing, especially for kids. Most of all, the dinners were gourmet (and we are foodies!), and the included breakfast was top notch with customize omelette station, mimosas, smoothie making station and huge variety of food options. The outdoor seating was under umbrellas, next to the pool and was so relaxing and quaint. The restaurant and property staff were kind and went above and beyond. They helped arrange transportation for one of our tours, and with getting to and from the property (we did not have a car). They were very responsive to questions we had before arrival. They even gave us a goodie bag for our travels to our next destination. The rooms were lovely and very clean. I would definitely stay here again!

The rooms were little dated but had what we needed for a comfortable stay ( including ac ). The breakfast buffet was great with many fresh and healthy options. The resort restaurant was ok, we preferred other nearby local restaurants for lunch and dinner.

Most beautiful Borgo in the Tuscany area. Close to San Gimigiano. Although you probably won’t leave the Borgo. It is perfect for families or couples. Beautiful pool and surroundings areas. Very good restaurant and delicious cocktails.

Breakfast Buffett has everything you could ever want and is delicious. Staff are over the top helpful and friendly. This hotel was perfect for us as a relaxed base close to Siena and surrounding Tuscan hilltop towns. For that, you have to accept that character hotels like this with the staff ratios needed are necessarily on the high side of the price range. We booked five individual rooms for 8 nights and we hired a large car to accommodate us in comfort. With three adult children, visiting Siena, Volterra, San Gimignano and Monterrigioni were a must, and all were within 40 minutes. The hotel was great, grounds were lovely, parking in a secure gated carpark was easy and the location quiet and well kept. Super breakfasts on the terrace with an excellent and wide range of choice. Although we ate out most nights, the dinner and barbeque were very good overall, with nice variety of high quality options. The staff could not have been more helpful if not occassionally over familiar in their efforts to please.
The pool was wonderful, the gardens offered plenty of shade and space, with cushioned sun loungers and plentiful supply of iced lemon and orange water.
The rooms were cleaned every day with fresh towels when needed, beds were firm and comfortable, air conditioning and wifi worked very well.

My husband and I stayed mon - fri in July. It’s a very relaxing hotel especially the grounds which are lovely to relax in and picturesque. The staff were welcoming and hardworking and friendly. The bed comfortable. The minor quibbles would be the room seemed smaller than the images on the website especially the bathroom which had an over bath shower that felt awkward to use (we had about a 3rd up from the cheapest room would expect better) and the image on site for the outside space implied a large private feeling seating area however it’s chairs and a table right by your door in a bank of units that all have the same and the door ways are literally next to each other. Not so ideal when a drunken American couple got in from an event at 1.50am and proceeded to sit outside their door for an hour talking loudly. Obviously not the hotels fault but the proximity meant it was impossible to not be disturbed by them. The bed was comfortable. The rooms were clean. The only other quibble was with the food situation. It would have been ideal to have been able to order off the lovely and less formal lunch menu at dinner time if we had the option. We would have preferred more casual simple options. However the food was great from breakfast to the bbq grill and the set menu gala meal too. We’d definitely stay again.

Staying here was the absolute highlight of our Italian Vacation, we even tried staying an extra night but they were booked. Lovely place, with beautiful scenery, well-kept grounds, and wonderful staff. We had an extraordinary experience! We had dinner at the outdoor grill and a wonderful breakfast, both were spectacular. The bar service was also amazing and we were introduced to my new favorite drink there... just everything about this place is magical. We went with my 10 and 12-year-old boys and they enjoyed the pool, the soccer field, and playing pool at night after dinner. We were all thoroughly happy with Borgo San Luigi.... already planning to see when we return.

Overall very good stay. In regards to pets- It’s acceptable to have pets in the hotel. However, allowing pets in to the restaurant is not appropriate. We saw pets putting their paws on dinning tables. It was very unhygienic to have pets around the eating/ buffet area.

This place is incredible. Not close to much and a bit difficult to travel to without a car but I didn't plan to go anywhere else. The hotel was in a lovely rural location and the poolside and gardens were really lovely , especially as the weather was hot.

This hotel is a jewel, the property is absolutely gorgeous, everything about it is appealing from the buildings to the landscaping. It is serene and is everything you could ask for in a vacation property, no one could ever be disappointed staying here.

When we first arrived it was dark, and my navigation system took me to the neighboring home, where I proceeded to knock on doors. Luckily no one was home, and after I called and got directions we arrived at a breathtaking property where our every whim was catered to. I can’t wait to return. Gorgeous place, room was outstanding!

Borgo San Luigi is a Gem!
From the moment the staff greeted us out front until the moment we drove off, everything at this exceptional hotel was top notch. Staff could not have been kinder, friendlier, or more helpful. The grounds are stunning and the meals were fantastic. Cannot say enough about this hotel. It was the most memorable of our trip to Italy.

Beautiful Italian get-away
Once you get to the gates, you enter into a beautiful Italian get away. Free from traffic or city noise, you can relax and enjoy the day! The pool is open during the winter but not heated, so while it’s beautiful to look at, not much use in March. The road to get there is a dirt road and was full of pot holes, not that the hotel can likely address much of that issue. For the price and the ambiance, well worth the price we paid!

Nice resort and grounds. Rooms had no airflow and seemed very humid. A little noisy at times. Pool was nice but isn't heated and was cold. Great breakfast and dinners. Handy to many other towns if you have a car and are driving around Tuscany.

Excellent stay but tired room
The management and staff, food, wine and facilities were all excellent and made our stay very pleasant. However, we had a family room with a pull out bed which worked however our room had one narrow hanging wardrobe to support 3 adults, the full length mirror was not secured and would have fallen luckily I noticed the ceiling screw was on the floor, the shower screen leaked and flooded the bathroom completely, fixed on our penultimate day and the room was general tired and not very clean.
I would recommend the hotel but feel that some investment is required in the rooms I saw.

Lovely trip to Tuscany - a few issues with hotel
Our room was spacious and comfortable but didn’t adequately match the description of a deluxe room as detailed on the hotel’s website. This describes that deluxe rooms offer a comfortable and bright environment with a bedroom and open-space sitting room. Our room on a first floor was comfortable but it was quite dark and even with lights on too dark to read. Our sitting area was really little more than a hallway at the foot of the stairs leading to our room with two upright chairs and a table. Unfortunately, although most rooms in the hotel had a private outside seating area, ours didn’t and we often found it quite hard to find a deck chair on returning to the hotel during the afternoon. Our bathroom was fine but didn’t include a rainfall showerhead and there was no written information about the hotel in the room. Tea and coffee making facilities mentioned on Expedia would have been nice. The hotel’s website also mentions a shuttle bus for a round trip to Florence and we would certainly have taken this up. Unfortunately, this was not available to us during our stay due to difficulties with the service. The food in the restaurant was generally ok but the service was often poor and the atmosphere tense. On one occasion, we waited nearly an hour to receive our starter and then both our starter and main courses arrived at once. The starter buffet didn’t seem to be replenished often enough and attracted flies. We also felt that the staff were over-zealous in pushing alcohol.

Great Place to Stay, 10/10
Fantastic villa in Tuscany to stay. I spent very little money to stay here in March, and my room was incredible. A 2 story apartment room, with included parking and breakfast. Sienna is only about 20-25 minutes away and Florence is about an hour away, putting it in a great location. Rooms were very clean and staff spoke English and went above and beyond to help. The hotel restaurant was a bit pricey for the area, but there is a town about 15 minutes away (Colle di Val d'Elsa) with great food that is very cheap. In addition, the grounds were spectacular and the views from our room were outstanding. I will definitely return whenever possible. 10/10

Secluded But Not 4-Star
This is a secluded location with nothing else within walking distance. The hotel was pleasant enough; however, it did not come up to 4-star standards. The setting is beautiful and with a bit of attention to practical management details, it could achieve real 4-star status. It is on a long unmarked, unpaved road and the main entrance to the hotel is not well marked. We wound up entering through the parking area and were unable to easily located the reception area. When we arrived at 5:00 p.m., numerous bags of soiled laundry were stacked along the walk ways in plain sight. There were no instructions in the room concerning how to telephone the main desk, how to obtain service at the bar, that dinner service on a particular evening would be a price-fixed buffet, and no written materials about the hotel at all. Also, loud leaf-blowing equipment was especially evident during the 4 - 7 cocktail/rest hours. Surprisingly, there were quite a few families with crying infants and toddlers.

Lovely setting, most accommodation looked excellent, however ours was disappointing. The hotel offers small houses which looked lovely, however we stayed in the main building in the Villa, which was on the 3rd floor. Not the room we booked, and not ideal for us with limited mobility. We told the staff on arrival, but as they were going to be fully booked they couldn't change it. The hotel caters for more affluent guests, the restaurant food was excellent but in our opinion not value for money. The bar staff and waiters were very pushy when it came to drinks, and very condescending when we didn't order wine with our meal. This isn't the place to go if you are on a budget.

We booked this hotel for one night only by accident, and we really enjoyed our stay, we could have stayed the whole week if we knew it earlier. The hotel staff are very friendly, the room, large area of the garden, excellent restaurant food and service, beautiful pool and trees, everything is simply perfect if you simply want to relax and enjoy time with family.

This is a pretty hotel set in a quiet spot in Tuscany, perfect for exploring the area. Very close to Siena, San Gimignano and Florence. The staff are very accommodating and friendly. The free breakfast had plenty on offer, and they were very accommodating to the celiac's in our family. There is a huge pool and plenty of room to relax, even when the hotel was full. The rooms are split into different areas, some rooms closer to the amenities and some farther away. We were close to reception, but it was still quiet.

Such a beautiful place !! definitely recommend ! we had lovely 4 nights there. the only bad things i can say is that there was a weak water flow in the shower. and a little too cold at night since the heating in October is still switched off). but all in all we had a great stay (with extra blankets ;) and loved this gorgeous place.

All perfect. and great value for money. only small remarks is that given the local product , cheese ham and salami for the morning buffett could have been better, and TV channel choice very limited. but as I said this really counts for 1% . be prepared for a threat !
