We really enjoyed our stay here, the staff were all really nice and helpful, the breakfast was yummy and it was a good location for exploring surrounding towns in Tuscany. Only down side is there was a lot of noise from neighbouring rooms, and the water pipes made a loud whistling noise when somebody used the bathroom which was sometimes the middle of the night.

But -I had an accident slipping in shower.
It's extremely dangerous, luckily, in my case, it ended only in a few bruises, but could have gone much worse.

Our only complaint was that the room was a little warm at night, but the desk personnel said that they had shut off the air conditioning to the entire hotel because \"the nights are cool.\" So we opened a window and dealt with it. Desk personnel were very friendly and accommodating. We came from Siena; the bus stop was only a short walk away, very convenient for visiting other towns like Volterra or San Gimignano.

Great base for touring Tuscany
We had a great holiday based at \"the old paper mill\", whizzing around Tuscany in Florence (our hired Fiat 500 who did sterling work up and down and around the hills and winding roads). Colle is a good base if you prefer to stay in \"real\" Italy, and is close enough to the touristy bits (Siena, San Gimignano, Volterra etc) for days out. The hotel staff are great - friendly and helpful, and they didn't laugh at my amateur Italiano! Our room was clean and comfy with a lovely view of the old town.

Top notch lodging in heart of Tuscany
The rooms are large and have these great shutter windows(leftover from the old factory). The customer service was exceptional. Great free WIFI in the lobby and outside in the square. Breakfast with cappuccino to order in a nice dining room hit the spot. The air conditioning wasn't very strong and there was no safe in the room.

My second stay at this well maintained and run hotel in an excellent location for exploring central tuscany. Helpful staff speaking good Englash and other European langagues. Colle is a very attractive and lively hill .town off the main tourist trail but only a couple of Kms from the Florence-Siena autostrada. Good local restaurants and bars around the main piazza.

My husband and I just returned from a 10 day holiday in Italy. We stayed at Hotel La Vecchia Cartiera for 4 nights. The room was very clean, The air conditioning worked very well and the hotel staff was most helpful. The breakfast at the hotel offered a wide variety of choices and was the best we had on our entire trip (we also stayed in Florence and Rome). It is also located in a beautiful hillside city and is an excellent base from which to explore the Tuscany region.

The owner transformed his former pape mill into a cheerful, impecably run hotel. He is still very involved in daily operations, making sure the place meets up to his high standards. The location is central (1/4 block from the main square), yet quiet and open. The front desk staff, on more than one occassion, went the extra mile to help us (i.e. sought out bicyle rental options,located a cane after a bike fall, looked up bus schedules). We had a delightful week's stay at this hotel. We highly recommend it!

Ci terrei ad avvisare che google maps da le indicazioni sbagliate per raggiungere l'hotel, se siete in dubbio è meglio telefonare così il personale può spiegare come raggiungere il parcheggio senza passare per la zona ZTL

Ho acquistato il soggiorno di 2 giorni a tramite Expedia, la signora del check In mi ha chiesto come avevo prenotato con quale modalità? Le ho detto con Expedia Signora, mi è sembrata un po’ scocciata .. poi la signora prima ha fatto passare altri clienti e poi sono passato io ! Mi è sembrato che avendo acquistato il soggiorno da un’altro canale forse sarei stato un cliente di second’ordine .. ma non vorrei che fosse stato solo un mio pensiero.. poi le ho chiesto dove avrei potuto mettere la macchina e mi risposto che il garage era pieno.. ma non mi sono accertato della sua verità quindi poi mi avrebbe promesso che la sera seguente appena si sarebbe liberato il garage mi avrebbe detto qualcosa .. ma così nn è stato .. perciò non credo in futuro di ritornarci .. unica considerazione la Colazione solo questa è stata soddisfatta! Il resto sarebbe da migliorare soprattutto l’accoglienza mi è sembrata un tantino smorta e con poca attenzione verso il Qualunque cliente che comunque paga sempre con soldi saluto Gianni

Nous avons été très agréablement surpris par cet Hôtel qui ne paye pas de mine à l’extérieur mais qui est très propre et accueillant à l’intérieur ! La personne a l’accueil nous a donné spontanément bon nombre d’informations sur des activités à faire dans les environs. Merci beaucoup à elle, nous avons vraiment profité de notre journée dans cette ville grâce à elle :)

Soluzione comoda ma basic
Abbiamo soggiornato in Hotel per una notte. L'hotel è collocato vicino la piazza del paese e dispone di un parcheggio sotterraneo al costo di 5€/giorno. Il personale è accogliente e cordiale. La stanza assegnataci era abbastanza grande e confortevole ma non si è percepito un gran senso di pulizia. Mobilia e sanitari piuttosto datati. Qualità del sonno bassa in quanto le pareti sono sottili e lasciano sentire le voci nel corridoio e nelle stanze vicine. La colazione dispone sia di dolce che di salato ma è molto basic. Ottimo il rapporto qualità/prezzo in quanto con 75€ + 5€ di parcheggio abbiamo soggiornato in soluzione B&B. Infine, molto apprezzata l'accoglienza riservata al nostro cagnolino.

L'hotel è un Buon hotel tutto sommato, la posizione è ottima, in centro, vicino alla piazza dove si può arrivare ovunque. C'è un garage che costa 5 euro al giorno, altrimenti ci sono parcheggi fuori a pagamento.la stanza non è grande, il bagno è piccolo, ma tutto sommato per 2 notti c'è tutto il necessario ed è vivibile, e va bene. Alcuni dettagli sono da migliorare ( come ad esempio il getto d'acqua della doccia,c'era del calcare e l'acqua non usciva benissimo, o la tv, ancora con il vecchio tubo catodico.). Ripeto, per quello che mi riguarda, l'esperienza è stata positiva, e contento della scelta dell'hotel. Il personale tutto cordiale e gentile ed a disposizione. Colazione con succhi, caffè, the, torte, brioche, salumi, formaggio ecc ecc. Varia anche la scelta della colazione. Consigliato insomma.

La prima colazione super abbondante con una vasta scelta tra dolce e salato. Posizione comodissima sia per visitare la parte bassa della città che la parte alta visto che si trova vicinissimo agli ascensori che portano alla parte alta.
