Our first room had a broken shower head. Our "upgraded" replacement room had a very nasty (yellow slimy inside the bowl) toilet that was obviously not cleaned. There was a dirty wet hand towell that looked as if it had mopped the floor folded up on the rack with the clean ones. The bathroom floor looked as if it has never seen a mop. The bedding appeared clean and beds were comfortable. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful. The cleaning staff needs some retraining.

You are paying for proximity to the ocean. The pool was not operating. They wanted to charge us a $15 "resort fee" even though there was no pool use. The rooms have not been updated for a long, long time. It has a 60's decor. I would stay somewhere nicer next time and just drive to the public beach.

Location, Location, Location. Did I mention it is a Great location? The staff were very friendly, but "Resort" amenities is a stretch. To be charged $15 to utilize the small pool area is really a joke. The room was nothing special and if it was an updated room I would hate to see what it looked like before. The kitchenette had barley any supplies to make a meal but I made it work. You get service wear for four, four tea plates, four desert plates, four bowls, silverware for four and two sauce pans. No cups, dinner plates, frying pan or cooking utensils. The shower/toilet room is quite an experience, the shower head water was so hard it was hard to stay in long enough to get clean and to shut the door you have to step in the tub. Again the location is great and I would stay again just for that one reason. This is the only "hotel" on SGI and it's old and dated but again location is everything.

We wanted a clean, inexpensive beachfront hotel for a quick trip and this dod not disappoint. Check-in was quick and simple. The corner room was beachside and poolside. You cannot see the ocean from lower level because of the dunes. Next time, we may opt to stay upstairs. The room was spacious and clean. Simple furnishings, but everything you need was supplied in the bathroom and kitchenette. Extra coffee packets were provided by the lobby staff. The pool was clean and refreshing. There was some litter (unopened beers) and clothing left on the decks for days. Maybe the staff thought someone would come back to claim it. We rented a golfcart to get around. Very convenient withing walking to beach, restaurants, lighthouse. Overall, it was a nice stay and I would recommend to others.

My only complaint was the size of the bathroom. The sink area was good, but you had to stand between the tub and toilet to open the door. But that will not stop us from staying there again. Great location!

The beach is the only thing that makes the place worth it, floors are filthy bathrooms not cleaned. Specially bathroom floor looked like it had never been cleaned. Stove didn’t work was not able to cook in it after buying food to cook had to eat out.

The room was spacious and had been partially updated. The toilet was very old and so low that I almost fell down trying to sit on it...LOL! Hopefully the bathrooms will be fully updated in the near future. They were very dog-friendly with a nice grassy doggie area. The Dog Fee could be lower, in my opinion. St. George Island is small, so all restaurants/shops/grocery are very close by and within walking distance.

Hopefully the bathrooms will be fully updated in the near future. They were very dog-friendly with a nice grassy doggie area. The Dog Fee could be lower, in my opinion. St. George Island is small, so all restaurants/shops/grocery are very close by and within walking distance.

The bed was sandy, the door kept sticking when you opened it closed it and one of the nights we stayed we didn't realize the door stuck open and didn't close all the way. The bathroom was so small they had to notch the door so it would pass the toilet to close. Not enough outlets in the room to charge phones and i had a heart monitor on and had to charge that too so it was a cluster. The windows are not tinted and you can see into everyone's room when the curtains are open on the first floor. Also very noisy at night near the pool. The rooms had a smell like they have definitely had sea water in them but since they are on the beach and have taken on many hits by hurricanes I guess that would be expected.
