Booked because of 2 bedrooms (mom + 60 yr old son). Back bedroom with 2 queens (bed very comfy) but lamp on a table at end of beds with sharp corners & turned off by switch (so no light in the night! & unable to read in bed); as very tight space expect usually used by children. What was o.k. but could be better: at least coffee for 5 beds (not 2), drapes in front above heater shorter so as to feel that it was working (safety pins saved the night!). Too bad garbage is picked up at 7 a.m.; would stay again, but ask for an inside room.

When I went out around 11pm there were drug addicts going to rooms in the building. I immediately did not feel safe. I would never stay here again.

Beware Room 201 if you don't want to smell stale old smoke and chemicals used to try to cover it up. We were fine with the broken electrical outlets, dirty floors, and other signs of low end motel world. But we paid $178 to spend a night in this horrible place. Couldn't change rooms, or even talk about it afterwards, as no one was on the front desk at 9:30 PM or 8:30 AM. There are lots of motels on the strip in Nanaimo, give this one a miss because they are clearly preying on people seeking the lowest cost. It's not good value.

Parking stalls tight together, not enough stalls, and with their locations did not feel vehicles will be secure overnight from the petty theft the area is prone too. Room clean and some newer renos but only two thin pillows, a hard mattress, no plug for the bathtub, noise from room below the motel's washing machine vibrating our room. Outdoor stairwells need maintenance, some tripping hazards. Non-operational stone fountain and other stone work in the court yard needs reno or removal and better use of the space than an eyesore and tripping hazard.

Comfortable, high-value, close free parking, nice courtyard, easy checkout, separate bedrooms, great attached korean restaurant, cable TV, updated plumbing fixtures, complementary toiletries, it doesn't get much simpler than this! Was a great relief to just sit back and crash. :)

This is a basic hotel. Very clean, quiet, stark furnishing and priced accordingly. No coffee or machine, no floor bathroom mat, no hair dryer, no cups or glasses, no phone. Office is not open daily. I was unable to get a receipt for my expenses as office was closed and didn’t answer phone when I was checking out. Left a message hoping they will send me a copy.

I have been staying at this place for years because it is affordable and in a great location, and has free parking. However, over the past year it has turned from tourist accommodation to more long-term low-income housing. People are living there, not just visiting, and they are up all night every night - gathering and talking really loud on the balconies, partying, yelling, stomping, fighting through the whole night (every night of my 4-night stay until between 3am and 6am). Not just one resident, but many - beside me, farther down the walkway, upstairs... The front desk is closed for the evening and through the night, so there is no one to call about it. I did not feel very safe there, and will not stay there again. I am sad, I used to love this place.

Room was beyond old & tired & felt dingy. Dishes in the cupboard were chipped & mismatched. Chairs were haphazard- one barstool & one kitchen chair. The smell was horrible!! We kept the windows open all night.
The bed was comfortable enough but the pillows weren't great. Bathroom has been updated. Front staff was fantastic! We got in late from the ferry & they happy to help us after closing hours.

Very disappointing stay. The room was completely different from the pictures shown online. It had a strong unpleasant smell and was very poorly maintained. The bed sheets were dirty and had hair on them, which made it feel unhygienic and unsafe to stay. Overall, the property was not clean and did not meet basic standards. I was extremely uncomfortable and had to request a refund. I would not recommend this place.

The room was fine, though unusually styled. Pictures hung up with a screw going right through the canvas, not placed anywhere logical on the wall etc. Not a big deal by any means, but odd enough to warrant a raised eyebrow on initial inspection of the room. No towels in the bathroom, had to grab backup from living area storage.

Checking in was easier said than done, the desk wasn’t manned even 10 mins after 4, when the signage said the desk was staffed from 9-5.

Asked if cooking was available was told yes so we upgraded to a suite..no pots or pans are included.so you cant cook we were told we needed to supply them despite paying extra for a kitchenette room came with one towel and a couple of small towels.We asked for more towels and still didn't get any until the next evening when we requested them again. We arrive to our hotel room and could not get in because the battery had died for the door lock. We asked for a refund and were denied.They told us we could do something for our next visit.We informed them.We wouldn't be having a next visit. Lots of less than desirable people in the area and staying in the hotel.Lots of noise, police and drug activity.

I read the reviews before booking and thought \"How bad can it really be?\" Fights outside our room at midnight for two hours. Furniture being thrown around in the adjacent room. The manager told US to call the cops who took away the drunken neighbours. I got my answer.

For an older motel style Inn the conditions were awesome. The beds were comfy. The rooms clean. The kitchenette had what we needed and the TV had channels. We were in town for a sporting event and it was what we needed for the weekend.

For an older Inn it was ok. I booked my daughter and i a room with a separate room and bed in main area. In the bedroom there were 2 holes in the wall. One was from the door and the other one looked like someone punched the wall. The room felt like there was to much items in the room due to an floor model AC and a fan.
Bathroom was clean but toilet was dirty by the tub side.
Overall not to bad of a stay.

I went to check in and I waited to be told they were waiting for housekeeping and to come back later. I couldn't come back later because I was playing in a tournament and didn't finish till midnight. To drive there to find it closed and I had no place to stay. I had to sleep in my vehicle. This was not acceptable. Terrible service

There was no 24 Hour service for someone at the front desk on the weekend. We drove down from Port Hardy after a hockey game so we checked in a bit late and after my kid had a shower We realize that there was no towels in the room. The TV didn’t work. Nobody at the front desk to get assistance from and the area is very noisy with people partying outside. Nobody was clearly monitoring the place.

Called numerous times, Precheckin they didnt answer.

Sink drain leaks.
Husband wenr to the front desk back door because they wouldn't answer phone.
Requested extra pillows when I booked online and they weren't in room.
Husband went again to bad door of hotel request the pillows, as they didnt answer the phone again.
Husband went again to say tv didn't work.
Room was small.
Bed was uncomfortable.
I was shocked by the lack of maintenance outside and on grounds..
We definitely will not stay again and will not recommend this hotel to anyone.
We stayed sept 27 and 28th and were charged $168.20 extra for unknown reasons;
I will try call them again Oct 2 to see why.

We arrived in Nanaimo later than planned so i called the hotel a couple time to let them know we'd be late, all times noone answered.
We arrived at hotel checked in and went to the room, we had an extremely hard time opening the door.
I requested extra pillows when i booked online, but there was only 2 pillows.
My husband called yhe front desk several times, all uneventful so he went to front desk to get th extra pillows.
I tried turning tv on, didnt work.
My husband called front desk again, no answer so he went up to let them know.
Bed was uncomfortable.
Sink leaked.
Grounds were a mess and dirty.
We will never stay there again, nor would we recommend this place.
I tried dropping room cards at 8:45am at front desk but it was locked. I seen a female and tried to get her attention without luck.

Did an early checkout on a 3 night stay booked through Expedia. Talked to the hotel Manager who said as long as Expedia confirmed and was ok with an early checkout that a refund for the third night would be done. Talked to the Manager on the second day and my son went to the desk and checked out. Expedia phoned and emailed and the hotel said they had no record of an early checkout and were not informed of any such update. This is categorically false as I talked with the hotel Manager on the early check out day. When my son arrived home, the front desk had only given him a print out of the full 3 night stay charged (my son only stayed the first night), there was no notation of an early checkout. This was supposed to be a pay later on checkout stay but the hotel charged all 3 nights up front upon check in. I called the hotel and left a message for the Manager to sort out a refund and have not heard back. I would not recommend this hotel.

Okay for a night before catching the ferry

Staff were friendly and let me greet their dog. Our room -2 bedroom- was clean and comfortable.
Be aware that there is an additional $38 fee for taxes and services that is added when you arrive. Hotels.com says all fees included but they’re not. Also, if you plan on cooking, the efficiency kitchen doesn’t have any pots or pans.

Terrible place. Avoid staying at this place.

This place stinks, very rude front desk (Omar). We left the property with in an hour due to its inhabitable condition. We booked 2 rooms for 3 nights but ended up not even staying for the day. They still charged 1 night for 2 rooms. I understand they might have strict cancellation policy but the place have to be habitable. I have small kids with asthma and this place is dangerous.

We were greeted by a welcoming daddy long legs on the wall. The room was reasonably clean unless you looked under the beds. The burn marks on the table gave it a rustic feel. The stick in the open sliding window gave a faint sence of security. The premium HVAC system included a fan on the desk and an AC unit on the floor with a hose out the window. We had the VIP suite on the second floor closest to the road for maximum noise. The courtyard has a large non-functioning fountain.
