Great room, underwhelming breakfast.

Friendly staff, big room with clean bathroom. Let down by an underwhelming ‘complementary’ breakfast with nothing left an hour before the end of service. All juices and pastries had vanished. Allowed only one bacon or sausage roll each which consisted of literally one sausage and one bacon rasher.

Fiendly staff, clean facilies, comfy bed, lack of staff at breakfast the poor lady was run ragged.
Dirty carpets, no aircon but most importantly no windows in the rooms.or corridors which were like a maze and it felt like you were trapped in ikea.

Word of advice stay away from room 201 as it’s located right next to the lift and you will not be able to sleep due the lift being in use all through the night,

A member of staff made a comment in regards to the hotels “permanent guests” so make of that what you will

Good stay for a couple of nights

Probably a little overpriced for the facilities we had.

Pros:
- Complimentary continetal breakfast
- good location, right in the centre near all the shops.
- large room and bed
- included teas, milks and coffes which were replenished
- good working modern bathroom and shower
- well working wifi
- easy check in and checkout
- vending machine in the building

Cons:
- no tv remote, you have to use an app on your phone but it couldnt find the tv so we were unable to use
- bed was not to my comfort, quite hard.
- no window in the room so got quite warm and stuffy
- missing basic room items, e.g, a fridge

This is the second time I have stayed at OYO. The first time was a couple of months ago, and I had an excellent time. This time, unfortunately, the drain in my shower didn't drain properly, and the television didn't work properly. When I reported this shortly after I arrived, nothing was done for the two nights and days that I was there. A great shame.

Ideal location

Fantastic location if you have any type of business in plymouth. Whether shopping , going to the Theatre or for business. Friendly staff. My only issue was the TV would not increase the volume and my planned evening ‘in’ was spoilt by this!
Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Stayed for 2 nights. The hotels getting a rework and the builders work weekends!

I stayed in room 130, while it was a clean room. There are 2 fans in the main bedroom directly above your bed that are noisy beyond belief. Absolutely no way of turning them off either.

Also no room has AC & it’s really hot!

Arrived at 0030 and quickly checked in. Room was clean and tidy. Bed was comfortable.

Hotel is very clean and under a bit of renovation work.

Staff were very efficient and friendly.

Breakfast was continental pastries with cereal and tea/coffee

We would definitely stay here again and will look out for the OYO hotels elsewhere

Overall great stay and highly recommended.

Check in staff were super friendly.
Room was great albeit a bit dusty. One cup was dirty.
Breakfast was abysmal. Nothing topped up so left with hardly anything. Partner had to get breakfast from gregs next door.

Beds were super comfortable, pillows and quilts great quality, room was a really good size, on a whole clean and tidy but our shower was full of hair and the bathroom floor had bits of what looked like chocolate on in it, the place is massive really deciving from the town, was very quiet at night, there was a good selection for breakfast served in the breakfast room

Positives: the staff was friendly and helpful. The room was big and clean.

Negatives: probably the worst breakfast I have ever had in a hotel. Breakfast is served until 10:30, I had an allocated timeslot at 9:30 (as many other people did) therefore I can’t understand why there wasn’t any milk or pastries. The only option was toast, dry cheese and cereal with no milk? The member of staff serving breakfast wasn’t even wearing a uniform (or gloves while handling food) so it was difficult to identify as a member of staff.
The bathroom/wet-room is impractical, there was water all over the floor that didn’t drain for the duration of my stay.
The room we stayed had no windows.

I would not return to this hotel

I found the hotel value for money but better signage as to where hotel is located is needed .
Breakfast was ok but could do with offering a full English for those with long travel ahead , friendly and helpful front staff but telephonic services need to better as I could not understand the person I spoke to on the phone to arrange my late check in but otherwise satisfying.

Oyo plymouth central stay

Reception staff at Plymouth were lovely, friendly welcoming and helpful. Easy check in and check out. Bed was clean and extremely comfortable , plenty of pillows. Room basic but perfect for few days stay. Breakfast plenty of choices options and lady very friendly and helpful. Would definitely highly recommend this hotel and will use again when i come up to go to pavilion. Overall very enjoyable and pleasant stay. I give it top score.

A very spacious and central place! Good for family

We went to visit university with family and stayed at oyo for weekend. Check-in was smooth and the room sizes are specious and well equipped. I liked the concept of lounge as well. The only small issue I had was about the vent in the bathroom if switched off would bring cigarettes smell. But overall hotel location is very much on high street and staff was welcoming. Would visit again!

The hotel was centrally located and near a wide range of shops and food places. The room was very big and spacious which we appreciated. The staff were so friendly and helpful! We didn't try the breakfast so we can't comment on it. Be warned that there is no view from the hotel and the window is very small and blurred which we didn't expect. The price for the hotel is a bit much but the rooms are nice nevertheless!

Great concept works well, just large amount of dust on top of wardrobe, only noticed because I removed a pillow from bed and placed it on top of the wardrobe and it disturbed a cloud of dust. Other than this perfect. Thanks

The room wasn't cleaned, tv was on and no remote control available to switch it off, no telephone for room service or to call reception, no window in the room, no air conditioning, the fan was provided, breakfast was just basic, the carpet hasn't been hoovered, etc.

Pleasantly surprised

Really nice stay, room was very big with nice wet room and the continental breakfast was quite good. Was a little worried after reading the reviews about shared bathroom/showers but was informed that those cost £40 a night which is fantastic value. Parked in the multi storey car park whick is £5 for 24 hours and a 4 minute walk away. Overall we were very pleased with our room for the money we paid and will definitely stay again. Many thanks to everyone who made our stay so good.

The building had no windows! It was so hot inside, the room had a fake window, no toilet or shower, there were shared toilets and showers but it wasn’t nice having to walk through a corridor to find them, the floors in the shower and toilets were very slippy and dangerous. I wouldn’t recommend this accommodation to anyone.

Clean & tidy but…

We refused our room as it wasn’t made clear when we booked that there was no en-suite. The only shared bathroom available to us was half way around the hotel, the nearest was closed because of COVID-19 & that was still through two fire doors.
Also. Hardly a budget hotel given we paid over £350 for two nights without an en-suite.

The room was clean & tidy and the staff helpful.

No ventilation in the stifling heat

Unbearable heat last night in our \"10 square metres m2 room with garden views\".

(It didn't have garden views - it had two tiny frosted windows next to the ceiling, but this wasn't the main problem.)

The main problem was lack of ventilation. No Aircon. No fan. No openable windows. I barely got any sleep and it's made me feel rough today.

My partner slept on the bathroom tiles in an effort to keep cool. I therefore had the bed to myself - it was damp with sweat this morning.

We've now booked another hotel nearby and are waiting to check in so we can have a nice sleep in a hopefully cool room.

Felt like staying in a lab or institute.

Good things: the TV and bed were large, spacious rooms, strong WiFi and central location.

Bad things: windows that don't open and rely entirely on air-conditioning, which meant we required a fan to make the room less stuffy. The floor of the shower \"wet-room\" did not have a sufficient slope, so water would spill out onto the carpet of the bedroom, requiring lots of towels to mop it up.

They had emergency works on-going to make rooms fire-safe, which meant the ceiling had to be cut for servicing during our stay. We refused for this to happen because it would cause too much plaster and dust. But they still required workmen to enter to survey the room while we stayed there.

The layout of the building was also confusing, as there was no direct access from the first floor to the second floor unless in an emergency. You had to take the lift from the first to the second. And during Covid one-way systems, you tend to find yourself walking through endless and soulless corridors.

For the rate, the quality of the breakfast was poor. Stale croissants warmed through, and basic selection of cereal.

At least, the customer service staff were trying their best in most cases.

As a brand new hotel, some \"teething\" issues may be expected, but the price of the room should be lowered to reflect this.

Lovely stay

The hotel is brand new and spotless. We stayed here during covid and safety for their customers was in place. Staff were nice, friendly and helpful. 24hr reception. Hotel is city centre and can access main links to other parts of Plymouth. There is off site parking 1 minute walk away, max stay is 3 hrs up till 10pm then free over night parking till 8am. Overall the hotel is nice and price was good for the stay and breakfast was included. I would return and recommend.

While the room - albeit an accessible room - was a good size with a superkingsize bed, the complete lack of a window, so no natural light nor fresh air, was a big negative. Not even air conditioning, just a fan which took several hours to create a tolerable temperature.

Fabulous staff, disappointing hotel.

Brand new hotel, so furnished well. Air conditioning was broken so room was too hot to sleep. Breakfast was continental with options pretty limited. The staff were the saving grace of this place. Helpful, attentive, kind... Just all-round excellent.
