Smooth check in. Very friendly staff. Nothing is too much for them, you only have to ask. Comfortable bed, spotless bathroom. It is a great property, most of the staff have been there for a few years and the care and attention to detail shows.

Only stayed one night for bed and breakfast for a night at thr theatre. Great room, comfortable bed and big bathroom. Staff were great. Breakfast was good and even did vegan sausages on request. Will be staying again in September for another night at the theatre.

Our second stay here. We like this hotel, the decor, the rooms, bed and bar/breakfast area. Breakfast has a fairly good choice. Drinks are reasonably priced. The only slight negative is the free \"cocktail\" you don't get to choose a cocktail from the cocktail menu! You are given a \"house cocktail\" in a water glass that does not taste of much, it's hardly worth the bother. It would be better to be given a discount from the cocktails on the menu. After attending a concert next door in the Plymouth Arena when we got back to the hotel and tried to buy cocktails we were told that they were only doing 'long' cocktails.

The room was very clean and our adapted room had all the features I needed. The handrails were easy to put up and down as needed. The bed also had a light under it which was very helpful. It switched off when you were on the bed but switched itself on when you got off. This low level lighting is brilliant for somebody like me who is mobility impaired and doesn't want to spend time looking for a light switch in an unfamiliar place. The staff were very helpful as well.

The check in team were great but the new process for paying for parking is absolutely ridiculous. Downloading a new app (that will most likely only ever be used for parking at the Moxy Plymouth) multiple attempts to get it working - filling in totally irrelevant personal information - it literally took over 15minutes to pay for parking.

This is an amazing hotel, near the Barbican, Theatre Royal and good restaurants. My birthday overnight to visit The Box, which was well worth the trip. An interesting and busy Turkish restaurant with a feast close. The decor was really interesting and stylish, beds comfortable. Felt as though it was relatively newly built but didn't check that - would go again.

We stayed two nights at the Moxy in a family room with a sofa bed. The room was okay and set up well for disabled. However, while it was quite spacious, the sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable and I ended up sleeping on the floor. The hotel offered us another room with the same setup (sofa bed the same) or a twin room. No apology or anything else. They were more concerned about being seen to be doing the right thing.
The breakfast is super basic and the cooked parts (bacon, scrambled eggs, beans…) were below par.
The gym was not great either - tiny and under resourced.
Essentially, while Moxy is a ‘trendy’ place with the promise and price of luxury, it’s not so great and feels a bit superficial at times.

More trendy bar than hotel.
First impression was that the hotel lobby was a trendy bar.. there wasn’t a reception, you checked in at the bar. Parking is via an app, which didn’t initially work.. if you’re not familiar with apps, you’d struggle! There was mention of restaurants.. but there wasn’t one, you ordered food at the bar and ate on tables around the bar. Our table was near a table top football game, so you could be eating next to people playing. It felt like the hotel guests were secondary to the bar. Having said that the room was exceptional, clean, modern. However, no welcome pack, no secured WiFi, no phone in the room and no room service. Don’t think we’d stay again.

We booked a family room but when we reached the property we were been told that the bathroom door is broken and they gave us two seperate rooms.I was not comfortable making my children sleep alone in another room.So it was really inconvenient stay where we kept switching rooms.

The location is ideal for walking to the shopping centre or the Barbican. Car park on site was very useful. Hotel is very clean and rooms were serviced every day. Room was a gkkd size and bed very comfy. Staff were friendly but not very informative. Would definitely stay at Moxy again.

The Moxy Plymouth is a very clean, quiet, modern hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Fun activities available in Bar Moxy, in addition to good food, wide assortment of drinks and a very convenient 24/7 grab and go for snacks. Breakfast was worth adding. Most comfortable beds of our whole trip so far!

Hotel was very clean, friendly staff, reasonably good breakfast (no fried eggs though, only scrambled) bacon, sausages (not gf) beans and hash browns (gf 👍) gf cereal available (Schar cornflakes and muesli) no gf sliced bread though, only rolls and I do like to have a bit of toast so that wasn't an option for me unfortunately. For those without dietary issues there was a selection of bread including sourdough and also a pancake making machine! Also fruit and fruit salad. It was all help yourself.
The location was good....a bit of a walk mind you! There's one very expensive restaurant right nearby (didn't go in there) but lots of dining and eating in the Barbican area which is about 12-15 minutes straight walk up Notte street, or 20 minutes walk if you go the more scenic Hoe route.

Friendly staff on check in. Room was clean and tidy. Bed was like laying on a slab of stone it was that hard. The room had lots of noise transfer from the room above and shook when someone slammed their door shut. No water in room which given the price was a surprise. Breakfast buffet cost was expensive for what was on offer. Asked if they could do a decaf coffee and all I got offered was an instant Nescafé. Most hotels now will do a decaf coffee given they have multiple options of tea on offer.

Room all pre-paid with a non-refundable payment, but hotel insisted on £30 deposit at check in, due to be refunded at check out. Two weeks later and still waiting...Took the edge off an otherwise decent stay.

Painful late night checking, very poor communication between staff, attempted to take payment again for a pre paid booking, took 10 minutes at 11pm for the check in staff to concede the booking had already been paid for. Very average room, cheap price but no better than a travel lodge, won’t be coming back

We had a couple of issues mainly around breakfast. We were charged twice and then we queried it and were told that”we had a breakfast and just didn’t want to pay for it”, by a member of the staff who at the time was being supervised by the duty manager. He was asked by the duty manager and myself to allow her to deal with the matter. It then escalated to the member of staff coming out from the desk and up into my chest as if to square up to me and was very threatening. I said I was thinking of calling police to which he then said he was calling them first on me, which he then did. I’d love management of the Moxy Hotel or Hotels.com to get in contact with me to investigate this incident as we would never expect to be treated this way and hope you will endeavour to make sure this person does not get away with treating returning guests or any person like we were treated.
The manager and staff member refused to give me any way of identifying them, I asked for names which were refused, even guest names. They also would not provide me with any worker ID. I expecting police to be chasing us for absolutely nothing :-o
