The only thing that let our stay down was the broken bed which they were apologetic and did come and made a temporary fix for the night.

We went to Plymouth for football and arrived at Alma Lodge at 9pm and was met by the owner with a smile and couldnt do enough for us after our long journey.
We fillled out our pre order Breakfast form,had a good nights sleep,went down to breakfast and was met by the owners daughter who looked after us for breakfast,which was very good ingredients and she also pointed us in the right direction for our walk to Plymouth Hoe which was really lovely.
Our Sunday breakfast was as good as Saturday with extra drinks and Toast on offer.

When we stay in Plymouth (fairly frequently for university purposes) we look for somewhere with parking and breakfast. Alma Lodge has both but so much more! It was clean and comfortable, the room must have been recently upgraded - it was lovely. There was plenty of coffee and tea and milk in the room, and the family that run the B&B are helpful and chatty. We will be adding this to our (short) list of lovely places to stay in Plymouth.

A very comfortable and clean guest house. I booked in for one night and stayed in the triple room, single occupancy. This had everything I needed including a compact but adequate ensuite, tea and coffee making facilities, tv, and bedside radio. The bed was comfortable and I had a good nights sleep. There was a good selection for breakfast including cereals, yoghurts, fruits and also choice of cooked breakfast items. The landlady was welcoming and helpful, looking up bus times for me. Overall recommended and I would stay there again.

The owner and other staff were very welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us to make our stay comfortable. Our room was quite big, with a double and single bed and a small ensuite shower room. We had a ceiling fan and a desk top fan in our room so kept cool in the hot weather. Lots on offer at breakfast time from fat-free yoghurt to a full English breakfast. There were tea and coffee making facilities in our room.

Alma Lodge is conveniently situated close to Plymouth centre and although next to a busy main road, our room (5) was quiet and overlooked back gardens. I took my husband to the Plymouth Hoe fireworks championships for his birthday and stayed at the Alma hotel that was both convenient for the Hoe and peaceful for a relaxing two day break. The hotel is situated approximately 0.6 m from the centre of town and a frequent bus service right outside runs to the town centre and the Hoe, or if you prefer walking, a very pleasant and straightforward walk through town. The proprietors Tony and Paula were very welcoming, friendly and most helpful. The hotel was pristine, wonderfully comfortable and very quiet. Really loved our room and fabulous bathroom with shower and bath. The breakfast was top notch with both a full English or a really good vegetarian alternative. Can't get much better than this and with free parking space outside

This was the second time we'd stayed at the guest house. When I decided to come back down to Plymouth I knew this would be the place I wanted to stay after my experience the first time. The staff were lovely, chatty and nothing was too much of a hassle. The room was clean, of good size and ready for us when we arrived and everything we needed to know was explained on arrival. Accessible from westbound direction only, available parking on front drive constrained by walls to road-sides, and unknown use of double garage door - eventually found to be not in use (we think). Suggest remove walls to allow 3 - 4 cars parking without blocking other guests, and add sign to garage door. Free side-street parking also very close.

We stayed for one night in a family room. It was a lovely room, very spacious and large en-suite. The welcome could not have been warmer, we were made to feel so at home. Dietary requirements were met (which made such a difference for us) - thank you. Location was perfect, easy to find and get to where we needed. And all for super value. We would (and have) definitely recommend.

The owners telephoned to ensure we were coming and at what time. The immediate look of the property is really classy and the room, while quite small, was tastefully decorated. The bathroom is also very impressive, although we couldn't access hot water for a bath; that was being dealt with in the morning.
We were given helpful advice on how to reach our evening destination. Also given taxi numbers.
Our breakfast was very tasty in the morning. Nothing was too much trouble. We'd had a good night's sleep in the comfortable bed.
