The listing of this place is false as it states that there is self parking at the property it’s actually street parking which will cost you another £20 on top of your stay i picked this place as it had free parking we could have stayed at the premier inn which was a lot cheaper to stay at and also pay for street parking I didn’t want to leave my car out on the street as I have had damage done over the years of staying in places like this before ends up me paying for damage as well on top of my stay they need to change their listing to pay street parking not advertised like this and when I turned up they also said you need to call us to arrange parking don’t state this on the advertising so not happy to be told there isn’t any room to park fully booked well I found their car park to the rear and all it had in there was 1 car so they could have put us in and saved the £20 but no that didn’t happen won’t be going back

Very convenient location for exploring Plymouth. Drakes Circus, the Barbican and Hoe are all within a 5-10 min walk and there are many places to eat within a few minutes walk.

The room itself was equipped well enough. We found the kitchen very convenient.
The bed and pillows were slightly uncomfortable but were fine.

Overall we enjoyed our stay, however a number of small inconvenient things really impacted our stay.
-The storage cupboards alongside the bed were completely unusable as the bed blocked the ability to open the doors. If we were to push the bed far enough to open the doors, then only one side of the bed would be useable. This meant we had to leave our suitcases open on the floor for the duration of our stay as there was no bench or luggage stand to place them on.
-The couch was comfortable enough but far too small for two people to sit comfortably and was very small for the scale of the room.
-The small dining table was the only place to put down small belongings and to hang coats so it left the table mostly unusable. A wall mounted coat rack would be a beneficial add to this room
-The only place to blow dry hair was under the TV. The only mirror in the suite was a foot too far away from the outlet and I had to use the reflection in the TV to dry my hair.
-The light in the hall entrance is motion activated and there was no off switch that we could locate. This meant that if you went to the washroom in the middle of the night, the whole room lit up and woke

Struggle to sleep as neighbouring doors slammed very loudly to shut (despite neighbours trying to be quiet).
Bathroom smelt of mould
Walls of the apartment were damaged and marked
Pay £10 to check in early by an hour despite room being ready.
Some of the furniture inside the apartment was broken (the legs of the chairs and the sofa)
Very weak water pressure for the shower
Location is good however very loud struggled to sleep with noisy cars and motorbikes
Hallway smelt of poor drainage and cat food
The lift could do with some maintenance I advise using the stairs

The room and building in general was very run down and dirty, the fixtures and fittings were all broken, stained and badly decorated. The top bunk even had stains all over the actual bed sheet. The walls were dirty and scraped up, the beading(?) around the floor boards was broken, bathroom tap was backwards, the bathroom door handle didn't work, the shelves and sink in the bathroom were all tilted forward so unusable as everything slid off. The shower was hot to start with but went cold fast. The good part is that the cooker was really useful to have but the fridge being next to the bed just made a loud noise all night that stopped us from sleeping. Also I sorted my hotels on the app via ones with parking only. This hotel DOES NOT have parking.

The flat is as pictured and was pretty clean however I did have to wash the mug before I used it because there were marks in it.

There were marks across the walls and the skirting was coming off in places, alongside a picture which had fallen off its hanging and wedged itself into the gap by the radiator. The towel rail in the shower room didn’t work and was rusty.

Initially I was given a room which stank of mouldy food and the man on reception moved me to another room straight away.

Don’t stay here if you’re a light sleeper, the is no soundproofing both within the apartments and outside, especially an issue when the person staying in the room next to you decides to have a phone conversation at 6:30am for the whole floor to hear. The housekeepers also do not respect the fact that people may be sleeping past 09:30 and were often talking loudly. Generally you will hear doors slamming and noise from outside.

The blinds are also not fantastic so the light wakes you up despite using an eye mask and there is also a motion sensor light in the hall and toilet which take an age to go off so if you go to toilet in the middle of the night it’s very disturbing.

The laundry was often full of internal washing, you also need a £1 coin to use it.

Location cannot be faulted and handy to have a kitchen but without a toaster which seems very basic.

Probably wouldn’t stay again because I value my sleep.

Don’t stay in room 9

If it were not for the location, I would not stay again. There for 11 days and our room was smaller with 2 people. The toilet room was much smaller and toilet itself placed about 9” from heated towel rack. With the time of stay, we were placed in room #9 on first floor and on the street side. Who places with a long stay on the noisy street side?
We also had a problem checking in. I advised their management with updated travel plans, a week before travel. They never responded. We showed up exactly when I thought we would arrive. No one was available to check us in for 15 minutes. This hotel has an after hours buzzer to notify the desk. The problem is that we arrived during normal operating hours. They just had poor communication. The excuse I got after was the desk operator was helping another guest with their bags. The funny part of this is that their computer was not set up at the desk. The elevator and hallways were often filled with linens to be changed or washer filled with management’s laundry. This made the use of the inside machines to be used. This time’s stay was definitely not better than last years. I will be looking elsewhere next year.

Functional but not comfortable.

Whilst clean and functional theses apartment are Spartan and not comfortable. The minimalist style is not warm and welcoming. On the surface everything looks clean and fresh but on closer inspection the quality of the finish is poor. The administration at booking in and out is laborious as they are unable to preauthorise a deposit and do not have a system to automatically repay. This causes problems if you check out before the front desk is open. I would only repeat my stay if all other options in Plymouth were exhausted

Functional but lacking homely comfort

These apartments are functional but with a quality stand that is quite low. Whilst clean and functional it is not comfortable and homely. For example the bed has no headboard and the pillows are thin. The kitchen equipment is mix and match and gives the impression that it was acquired at a discount outlet. The check in check out process is adequate but not flexible.

I've stayed there twice now on each visit to Plymouth.
The rooms have been refreshed, clean and the area is generally fairly quiet.
The location means you can walk to the Hoe, Barbican readily, and the Drake Circus is 5 minutes away.
If I return to Plymouth, I'd readily come back!!
And the staff are great :)

I did have just one tiny issue and that was the times of check in and out 3pm-9.30 am it would of been nice to of had a bit of a lie in as I only stayed for 1 night but other than that it is a very nice comfortable I will definitely be booking again hopefully there’s a option to pay extra for 24 hours ?

Great value.

Accommodation was great value and comfortable. We appreciated the space, cleanliness and facilities. Location was great for the city and Barbican being right between them. This beautiful building is very centrally located and within walking distance to amenities and attractions, it has three floors and 41 apartments of varying size. Upon arrival I was greeted on the intercom and provided details via text for self check in. The cleaners were still preparing rooms when I arrived but mine had been completed, having spoken to the cleaners who were extremely friendly, polite and welcoming i found out where I needed to be and where the facilities were. I must say as the first people I met the cleaners left an excellent impression on me.

Beautiful Bathroom with walk in shower very, very clean and modern. Floors are very creaky!

Very big double wardrobe with two hanging rails and seven shelves, plenty of room for storage and clothing.

Single bed was a good size, extremely comfortable mattress and the duvet sank around you when you laid down. Reading lamp for night time reading, or TV which swivels round so you can comfortably watch TV in bed.

Lovely kitchenette which is very well equipped with a hob, cooker, grill, fridge, microwave/Combi cooker, kettle toaster, cutlery and utensils and the room has black out blinds.

Carpets need updating, they are clean but they don’t feel clean, bed linen was a little worn which is a shame as the room I had was immaculate, modern (apart from carpet) clean and extremely comfortable, although the TV was quite high on the wall (although I did enjoy watching it in bed).

When we arrived our keys we’re left in a mailing box and sent a code to retrieve our keys Very efficient and organised !reception was In line with Covid restrictions and very clean our apartment was on top floor lifts excellent working order very clean
We had 2 apartments next door to each other which we were relieved to find out as our teenagers were next door to ours
The apartment was very modern very clean plenty of light and well equipped bed was super comfy and bedding was luxurious and everything white which I liked , the apartment was painted white had a small table chairs , wall mounted tv , a floor fan ( which was needed) very warm in the apartment a few hangers ( I bought more in Primark) as we stayed a week ) under bed drawers , hairdryer
Bathroom was stunning very clean like new shower was amazing plenty of room ! Our kids loved it had everything u could need
Kitchen also was very well equipped microwave, fridge kettle toaster plenty cupboard space cutlery new sponges even fairy liquid and sanitizer left for us
The location is excellent literally opposite town centre 2 min walk and very close to the Barbican 5 min walk plenty of pubs around us. I especially appreciated the clean towels bedding, tea towels left every morning on our floor reception ( outside our rooms) to be taken if u wished to replace . Overall an excellent stay no noise very quiet and peaceful no noise from other rooms very clean modern and a fantastic stay we will be rebooking next yr

Great stay

Check in a check out was super simple, great communication. The room had everything we needed and was clean and comphy. The only negative was the room smelt a little of damp, which I believe wascoming from the kitchen/ sink area.
The location is great for getting around Plymouth, but the only downside to the great location is that it can be noisy at night with traffic and people coming and going from the pubs/ nights out. Would definantly stay again but would request a rear room away from the main roundabout if possible.

Stayed for three nights while waiting for covid test results to come back. On the unit that I stayed at, it was good for two people so it was very spacious for just me. A lot of wardrobe spaces, work table, comfy chair, workable basic kitchen (microwave, cooker, toaster), comfy bed, and spacious bathroom with amenities. Great communication with the team - no problems with checking in and checking out. Requested for extra toilet rolls which was provided immediately. Great wifi connection especially i was working from the unit as self isolating. Great location - very central and bus stops within 3-minute walk. The flat was clean. Plus for me was a clean bathroom. They also Provided anti bacterial wipes!My only concern was i found a small very tiny spot on the towel and stain on the bed sheet - i should have asked it to be changed but didn’t bother. Overall, very very good stay and highly recommended!

I booked to stay for my boyfriends birthday and was expecting an amazing night but it was an utter disappointment. Firstly when we arrived and got to our room we noticed that we were actually given the wrong room, we paid for a king size 'deluxe' studio, when it it was in fact the same room that we had a few months ago which was just a standard room, we tried to go downstairs but no one at reception to raise our concerns with and we was in a rush as we had a gig to go to , so we accepted that we just got given a crap room.

We then got back and got into bed and outside our window is a bar/club with very loud music which we were not aware of and to top it off there was a glass bin just below our window that actually got stacks of glass bottles chucked into it around every 20 minutes. We then tried getting asleep in the 'double' bed is was completely uncomfy. It was that unbearable with the noise and discomfort we left at 11pm that night and drove hour and a half home in the middle of the night.

Then to top it off i left my watch there by accident and you quite kindly said you would post it free of charge, which we really appreciated, but then i got a call saying it was £10 charge by a man 2 days after the lady said it was posted off, so clearly this was a lie.

Creative well equipped studio space

We had to arrive late but the night manager was present and helpful. The loft room was not suitable as one of us has mobility issues and the other is pregnant. He quickly and efficiently arranged for us to move to a different room which was perfect. The studios are in the centre of town : excellent location, just be careful to note parking restrictions. Noise from other guests was a bit of an issue but the interruption was short lived.

The rooms are lovely! They have fridge cooker microwave kettle and are all newly furbed. The showers are really nice spacious and clean. Toilet seat however was loose. Room cleaning applys only to bed and toilet the dishes etc is up to you to clean. If tgat was covered would have been 10/10. Parking available outside for £3 from 6pm till 8am. After that parking can become costly. Overall really good place to stay

Upgrade felt more like a downgrade

We booked a loft room with city view but we're called the day before and asked if we would mind being upgraded to a deluxe studio room as the guests in our room wanted to extend their stay.

Sounded great. It wasn't.

It was called a garden room but it was in the basement and had no garden, and no view.

The bathroom light sensor was broken so stayed on all the time.

The studio was a small room so the buzz from fridge in the kitchen made for a night of interrupted sleep.

The store room was the only room in the basement and every time staff used the stairs it sounded like a stampede of elephants!

Nice location. Nicely furnished. Just don't be tricked into being upgraded to the \"deluxe\" garden room.

The hotel is in an excellent location, easy walking distance to The Hoe, The Barbican and Plymouth city centre. Security is excellent. Staff helpful and friendly. Easy to find food to make use of the kitchen facilities. Laundry facilities are very useful too.

My only complaint and it is very minor: I found the mattress a little too firm.

Thank you for you excellent hospitality. We would stay here again on any future visit to Plymouth.

Basic, but immaculate in presentation. Very clean and well looked after, staff friendly and helpful. Located centrally in city centre and handy for all attractions and the Hoe. Train station 15 min walk.
Only criticism - inbound pigeons every time window was opened two flying guests would hop in to say hello - easily got rid of tho and quite amusing really. More tea / coffee would have been good. Otherwise id highly recommend as a place to stay.

Stayed here for one night as I was stopping by for a concert, absolutely loved it and wish I could stay longer! Extremely clean, lovely staff and provided you with everything you could need. Having travel anxiety I’ve had to cut a lot of trips short due to the conditions of places i’ve stayed which also leaves me sceptical of not very well known chain hotels. However I would say it’s definitely much more worth it for half the price of what I would be paying at a mainline hotel. Perfect room, perfect stay.
