It looks like an abandoned place. The pool area looks scary and dirty. We could not sleep because of a noise coming from something loose in the balcony. The whole building needs an urgent renovation it's hard to believe that a place like this comply with all the government regulations.
Way too expensive for what they have to offer.

It was a great stay.

Great stay missing a few items a microwave would be nice to go with the fridge. In the bathroom wash cloths would have been good as well. The room was clean and it was ocean side with windows to open to let in the sound and breeze. The check in was awesome and we enjoyed our stay for the most part. Oh the tv was not WiFi or anything so we didn’t watch it that would have been a plus as well.

Nice for the price

Definitely not fancy, but the room was immaculately clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. There is a small beach area next to the property, but the waves crash against the wall of the property so you can’t really do the beach and the pool conveniently. The check-in is at the bar which was weird but easy and straightforward.

Under the existing circumstances, right after Hurricane Fiona, the hotel had decent accommodations, including an emergency back up generator. The view from the room was spectacular.
Highly recommended if searching for a peaceful and out of the main stream tourist traps. It is a clean down to earth hotel. If you are looking for night life, fancy restaurants, and to socialize, you will have to bring your own!

This is terrible place because when my wife was in shower while power off and she walk slippy and fell hit hard on head she got 14 stitches so i run ask for help they lied to police thst we were drunk they don't want look bad on motel. Also they ask me gave key back so we went to emergency room for 6 hrs then we went back hotel and gone some our things missed.. we were very unhappy ..

The hotel rooms are very small and the noise from the road and staff who are cleaning wakes you up 6am on forward.
The only thing o enjoyed was the view at the hotel balcony besides that it’s extremely overpriced.

Very isolated and not in a good way, under construction, room was cold not welcoming, faucet was broken, bathroom felt like an acoustic, lot of echo, no vanity or anywhere to put personal items, nowhere to put toilet paper but the floor, water pooled in shower, bad draining, door-less shower, water all over floor. Maybe not bad for young surfers looking for a place to sleep while chasing the wave. but not for a middle age couple looking for a cozy place to stay for a week.

From check-in to check-out , Freddie Torres bent over backwards to make sure that our stay was comfortable and memorable. He gave us extra towels , picked up something from the store when he was heading that way , made strong and tasty drinks at night and delicious breakfasts a few hours later ( even when we were a little late.
When you leave , you feel like you have just made a new friend . And the sound of waves litterally under you window makes this place even more unique ! Free parking with night watchmen is the frosting on the cake. I will definitely stay there again for sure . I stayed here only because the two top choices I had were booked up.....and this was my only choice. How lucky.... to try to get a base hit and instead slamming a home run.

I booked the hotel 2 months prior to the trip. when I check in he said he temporary closed his account with expedia. I choose the hotel because it had some amenities. When we got there. There were no room available. The room that they find to give didn't had tv, mirrors, a trash can, towels. The room was a box with a window. The person who recieved us told us, that The wrong doing was of Orbitz. They didnt have breakfest even though it said continnental breakfest included. The front desk open at 8:30am no one to attend the people. It was clean, but the room look nothing like the pictures. In the outside it looked sad and almost abandoned. I wouldn mine to any of this if i pay less than a $100, but it dindt come cheap. Not what expected. Sadly im ot going back it has a great view of the ocean and great location.

For me was excellent because I love the sea. The hotel is right at the beach. It is not going to be a regular hotel, with carpet and stuff because the sand and the salt eats everything. Despite the harsh environment (by been almost in the water), I think is decent enough for people that like to get in the water and don't have to worry of going all wet and sandy into the hotel. The owner was very nice to me, found good people there.

The proprietor, Freddy is a gracious and welcoming host. Being there had a local feel. The food is excellent- best Mofongo and best Pina Colado.
The location is close to rincon and downtown aguada.

We got the standard queen bed for two adults and it didn't have TV or Wi-Fi. They said that it was a new section so that's why this details were missing. They moved us to an ocean view to compensate and a promise to move us the next day to a complete room. Didn't happened. But it was not just the TV and Wi-Fi, the place didn't have where to hang your clothes, no bathroom cabinet, no small fridge, no night stand with lamp, all this details that make a room comfy were missing. Anyway, good location with nice bars around, and close to both Rincón and Aguadilla.

The owner/manager/counter-person/staff is one person that does not return phone calls.

They have no staff other than the owner and the cleaning person he occasionally hires.

We paid for the suite and found it to be extremely dirty, we even found a large dead roach next to our bed.

No towels, hand-towels, or wash cloths of any kind were provided. Nor were any shampoos or soaps provided.
What was provided was a half-used bar of soap sitting in a dirty bathroom.

Outside of our room was an empty beer bottle.

It was a horrible experience.

I would never in a million years recommend this hotel to someone.

To start with the minor stuff, that is blatantly a lie, there is no free breakfast, and there is no free Wi-Fi.
We had such a terrible experience at this hotel that we had to leave shortly after arrival.
The entire staff is the flaky owner.

When we arrived at the hotel, there was no check-in counter, only a 1970s looking restaurant with the owner too busy with a personal business call to check us in right away.

When we entered our room, it had a huge dead roach. My wife pointed it out to the owner/staff, who exclaimed how strange that was, because they never get roaches. He then proceeded to check the closets for more dead roaches.

Our room had absolutely no towels, shampoo, or bars of soap. Oh wait, it had a half used bar of soap sitting in the soap dish in the shower, nothing else. When we told the owner/staff that there were no towels and soap, he grumpily responded \"I give those to you!\" and then stormed away to continue a phone call.
When we told him the room was dirty and that we want another one, he said, \"I am going to call my employee.\" We cut him off and insisted he give us another room. Instead of just handing us a new key, he runs into another room, past an empty beer bottle in front of us, and has us waiting outside for at least ten minutes while he does God knows what.
At that point we left.

The beds are comfortable but some of the amenities I have come to expect were not there. No shampoo or conditioner, hard pillows and no extra ones, no regular cleaning. It did have air conditioning but was uneven through the suite. One room cold and the other hot. It was hard to find because the signage looks like it is Hotel Atlantis. Actually the word Columbus is there but it is in much smaller letters than Atlantis ,which is the name of the bar.

Loved our stay at hotel Columbus. It's clean, our bedroom is very comfortable and very quiet, my wife and I loved it. After a day of surfing or traveling from somewhere , you just want to go back to your hotel and relaxed. Freddy, the owner, is the best. He will cook whatever you want and he is just really a good host. Definitely will stay again at hotel Columbus if ever we go back.

As some of the reviewers have noted the only thing this hotel has is its location, right next to the ocean. Which is great, but the property and the rooms leave a lot to be desired.
The hotel on a whole has a (creepy) dark-minimal-lighting theme going on. I have no idea why the hotel can't be more well lit. Our room had only 1 low-power light. This gives the place a shady feel.

The room seemed clean initially but we encountered a pretty big insect soon. I wonder how many more were hiding. The bedding was minimal and nothing to write home about. The bath was minimal and seemed clean enough. Back of our room opened to a common patio with a great ocean view.
*Property*
As I said very dark! Other than that no frills here, almost like a lodge. No pool, etc.
*Breakfast*
Breakfast wasn't buffet style but was tasty and we felt it was sufficient in amount.
*Management*
Apart from the location, the only plus I would say was the owner/manager was very friendly and seemed genuinely interested in making our stay comfortable. He was available in the reception area the whole time; late into the night and early next morning.
If only the management showed such dedication in the upkeep of the place and upgraded the room with newer furniture.
This place has potential, but as of now its not that great.

We arrived at 8pm. The hotel staff pretty much ignored us attending other guest requests. After 20 minutes I demanded to be assisted. Only then the owner \"owned up\" to the fact that they were overbooked. No reasonable alternative was offered. We left and drove 45 minutes to stay with a relative.

Beautiful beach view rustic meets toxic

Owner cannot delegate is too busy trying to do everything & finishes nothing. Had to beg for toilet paper & bath towels that smelled of fried food. Slimy shower overflowed. Room & deck area caked in black green mold. Excellent location but is in ruins, not sure if it's perpetually under construction or self destruction. A pitiful disappointment. Cleaning service cleaned once at 4pm and was angry we were in room when they came to clean around dinner time because we were relaxing. Not a vacation destination it was actually depressing to see what could be an incredible resort hideaway crumbling I to the sea and being so poorly mismanaged.

No in room phones, Wifi internet its only available near the office not in the rooms, the actual beach its located about 5 minutes in car from the hotel. Cable in the TV only had local channels. No elevator for the second floor, uncomfortable beds.

Good place to stay with your family. The hotel is practically at the beach and it has an awesome 2nd floor view to the beach. You wake up with relaxing wave sounds. Its 5 mins from Aguada town. They have free coffee in the morning and a restaurant if you want to eat breakfast. In general, its a good place to stay the weekend.
