The staff was polite. The room was not very clean. There was a filthy fan in the kitchen and dirty walls and window ledges. A few bugs one looked like a baby roach which made it very uneasy. The main problem we had was opening and closing the doors. They need to be replaced or lubed up. They do not open half the time and needs force to close. The roof leaks water. The shower is very dirty and does not have hot water at all! Very unpleasant. The pool is small but the kids enjoyed it. The street is very busy but the views are amazing

I believe we were catfished. Location was wonderful- the room, not. Only a bed, dresser, and TV (with no channels). Very tiny room. We couldn’t open our suitcases at the same time. No fridge or microwave. NO HOT WATER!! We had to buy washcloths and extra towels. Parking is limited- will be rough during busy summer. Pool is a little wading pool, not an actual swimming pool.

I had my worse experience after 10 years booking with hotels.com The area was nice and all but without power you can’t use nothing. The place should have a backup generator or solar panels to allow the guests to at least have access to electricity. The hot water hearter was electric, the stove was electric ⚡️ the ac also needed electricity to run. There fore they should back back up. The room was not the cheapest to consider not having battery operated fans at least

Our stay was amazing. The location view was incredible. We didn’t know the room didn’t have a refrigerator or ice until we arrived. We made do with a styrofoam cooler and bags of ice, but would had been nice to know. Hot water was not working. I asked but didn’t get a response but everything else was good. Responses on other needs were met fully. Not much happening in that area but looks like it once was. We would love to see it come up again. We loved the room itself also but the hotel could benefit by having a mini fridge/icemaker/microwave or coffee maker. Would be nice to find a way to use the balcony of that room as well where you can at least latch the windows to stay open. Again, we had a wonderful stay. These are just suggestions/improvements that could make the difference from good to excellent! One other issue we had 2 separate incidents where strangers walked into our room thinking it was theirs. Make sure to lock up! We don’t understand people making this mistake and happened twice with more than one person at a time. Other than that. We would still stay again. Shade upgrades would be helpful as well since it was a struggle to open & close. Couple of restaurants close by are were prey good as well.

I stayed here for 5 days during the summer. I loved that there is a beach walking distance from the place. Restaurant line the coast as you walk. The bed was so comfortable. Huge private bathroom with great lighting. You can listen to the ocean while you sleep. My only complaint would be that there is no mini fridge. Overall, I would recommend it if you are looking for a quiet place to stay.

The property is old, dirty, and run down. Bugs crawling all over the filthy stove and mold everywhere. Dirty bed sheets, towels and blankets. The guy that handles the booking was very remorseful and helpful. He did refund my money. However, don’t waste the money on this dump.

What a View !!! 😍😍😍

The ocean view was stunning literally steps away from the beach sunrises and sunsets were a highlight! It was very comfy and cozy and tons of places to eat and have cocktails nearby; Mike was absolutely amazing and accommodating he is the true definition of a Host and made our stay even more delightful we will definitely be returning to Mares Guesthouse !!!

We got bedbugs from here for three nights

We went for a quick trip to PR for a wedding and stayed at this hotel for only three nights and ended up with bed bugs bites all over.

The first day, we thought it was just mosquitoes and then we realized after reaching home that it was not give that we had hundreds of bites on our bodies especially arms and legs.

I reached out to the hotel and they denied having bedbugs. The hotel was in a nice local and we had room 6 with a beautiful ocean view but the hotel was dingy and dirty.

Hell of a view! Bed was comfortable. If you stay on the weekend La Bravata gets down! If you like peace and quiet just be aware you’ll listen to the music most of the night but if you like to have a good time it’s the perfect choice since it’s super close to your room. Air conditioning is super cold! I would stay here again.

I contacted the property to inform them of the issues After my short trip and was left without response, if they answered i wouldnt have posted this but This was my text to them...

Good morning. I wanted to follow up with you directly. There were multiple issues with the room. The a.c. remote has dying batteries, there are broken floor tiles in 2 locations, the bedsheet bottom skirt is blue and has unknown white stains, when it rained a puddle formed on the room floor by the window, aside from not having hot water the shower head was improperly placed and shooting water everywhere causing the ceiling to drip and also gave electric current to handle, dangerous.

Also, towards the bottom stairs was consistently wet making it slippery to fall and the top stairs you are met with a nest of flies. Its a known issue because you are given a bottle of fly spray in the room.

The view is beautiful, dont get me wrong, however the room isnt keeping up.

Great place to stay, very convenient, relatively inexpensive, safe and secure, clean and comfortable. Angelo was very helpful, even though my room didn’t have a fridge, he brought me a mini fridge within 5 minutes of me mentioning it. The shower could use an upgrade, it doesn’t get hot, it only gets warm at best and the water pressure is a little too soft. The door to the room is frosted glass and is bright at night because of the lighting, I recommend changing to a solid door or add blinds. I also would suggest upgrading the windows to block of the sound of traffic outside on the busy street. Minor things, I enjoyed my stay overall.

My wife and I stayed here for a Valentine's day getaway as part of a larger Puerto Rican vacation. Mares was amazing, right across the beach, clean, and next to several great bars and restaurants. Ricon, with it's amazing swimming beaches is only a 15 minute drive away. The room was clean. They also left a special Valentine's gift basket with wine and chocolate. It was really wonderful

Right on the beach, Key was ready, they went out of their way for us. We knew most of the hotels were damaged from hurricanes and staff is hard to get. There were repairs needed and staff was short in afternoons just as they told us. Excellent for the price

We stayed here with family of four, one infant and a four year old. The area was beautiful.
The home was not cleaned prior to arriving, counters and floors were dusty. Pull out bed was uncomfortable, could use and upgrades. Worst of all we lost power. A place this beautiful should have generators or solar power given the prices per night and how faulty the power can be in these areas.

Found at least 30 roaches, fingernails on floor. Clearly had not been cleaned. Apartment has kitchen, but no pots, plates or silverware. Coffee maker also had roaches inside it. Would not recommend. Location is excellent, beach is beauty. Would be 5 star with pest control and housekeeping.

There was no cable tv no internet no warm water no coffee maker. It was just a small little room with nothing, not a bottle of water to take my pills. Was awful. I didn't stay the two nights. I left early next morning. The entrance was dark I was scare to dropped getting up stairs. I do not recommend this place. No details at all for the guests.

Do NOT stay here even if is the cheaper option.

Room is very outdated, the mattress is old. The room was very small, doesn’t have a microwave, or even a coffee maker. The bathroom is small and NO hot or warm water. Is so near the road that you only hear cars. Restaurants nearby are closed from Monday to Thursday. They don’t have a restaurant in the facility. Lots of mosquitoes. Had to cancel stay because it was work related and couldn’t rest.

The location is very good between Aguadilla and Rincon great spot.. The place is not clean and the maintenance is very poor… The guy there Angelo, do it absolutely the best to accommodate us and have a great time. I have nothing to say about him… Overall is beautiful, but they need a lot it Work .. Everything looks like it falling apart.. Location is amazing.. end you need renting a car I don’t see any public transportation..

Vince area by the beach. Lots of traffic if there’s a holiday. Limited parking and not the easiest to get out from the driveway. Unit was cute and modern but didn’t even have a cheap microwave or a coffee maker or at least a tiny table to put your toiletries. The swimming pool is very nice but also very cold since it has no heater! You have to get in the pool in the middle of the day on a hot summer day! Otherwise it feels FREEZING!

Sadly I have to say that I didn't read reviews before booking. Everything said in reviews I checked after arriving is the truth and more. The doorway is tight, shower is filthy and slippery, their is rust on the ceiling, rust droppings on the carpet and decorative table, windows are dirty, toilet is loose, noise from the constant traffic and music is heard loudly, batteries on tv remote are drained and had to switch them around with the air conditioning batteries and the head board of the bed had dust.

Room was nice and clean. Water pressure left a lot to be desired but likely not a fault of the property. This property is located next to a restaurant/bar and on a main strip along the coast. Friday-Sunday nights were fairly noisy until 10-11pm. Bed was comfortable and AC worked well. Nice stay overall. Lots of locally owned restaurants nearby.

Room as dirty, so noisy room is in front street cars with loud music, no soap given, pool , carpets, were dirty, carpets were dirty , toilet was loose, room key lock its almost impossible to open,door has no curtain and the insect light lamp on stairs dont let me sleep. Coconuts palms were full of them making parking dangerous for cars.

I had to booked in another place. I stay less than two hours. The wifi the went out and on unable to work remotely. The room has less than two foot to enter the door because it has a public pool for all the guests in front of the room. The pool was dirty with a lot of leaves. There was no staff at all for help. The fence in front of the pool that divides the pool from the streets is 3 foot tall and there were a couple of junkies in the gazebo a few steps from the parking. The lock on the door did not work properly so it open by itself and the room does not have any secured fence. A junkie could easily cross the 3 foot fence to the pool and open the door.

Pictures and information from the property need to be upgraded so people know what to expect. Self check in and check out. A few things need to be fixed and bought new. No staff in the property at any time. Just a place to go to sleep. Not worth the price per stay.
