Good room - the only problem was the balcony. While it was lovely to have, the balcony doors/windows were not soundproof so you heard everything as if you were outside! And the construction starting at 7 in the am and hearing that very loudly was a lot. We faced the street - we didn’t have an inside room so not sure if it was more quite in the inside rooms.
Clean hotel convenient location. Front desk staff were helpful. Good options for breakfast with my daughter having to be gluten free. Market for food was literally 10 steps away from the hotel which made getting groceries for a beach day very convenient!

There was an unpleasant odour in certain areas of the hotel, including the first room we were placed in. Staff did accommodate a move after a few days. Swimming pool left much to be desired - stiff accommodations and atmosphere. Rooms were small and don’t allow you to run AC or use electricity to charge devices while out.

This could have been a perfect place to stay only if……
…We didn’t know we needed to reserve a place at the pool. What a disappointment for the kids in such a heat wave.
…The AC was making so much noise, it was cold, but not sleeping while cold is not the best. We ask 3 times to get it fixed but no results.
…In the hotel details, there was self parking, but no, only valet parking at €30 was available, no other options.
The room need a refresh, but since we are visiting this is not so bad. The service is 50/50. We had AMAZING people and some other just rude and careless. The breakfast was perfect, ideal for a family.

This hotel is a GEM! Perfectly situated in Minori you can easily walk, ferry or short bus ride to Amalfi and Maiori or hike the Path of the Lemons. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were nice, we had 2 for our large family. Breakfast was buffet style with an almost overwhelming number of options.

Very enjoyable stay, I especially loved the ability to book your sun loungers for morning or afternoon allowing us to go explore in the morning without fear of no pool side benches on our return. The hotel is well located for access to local ferries. Before arriving I asked Roberta if she knew of a good airport transfer company to use - she sorted the transfer leaving us to relax about the airport transfer. Highly recommend.

Lovely coastal break at Villa Romana.

The Hotel was lovely. Our room had a balcony which came in handy when we returned from the pool or nearby beach wet enabling us to dry off our clothes in the heat.
The breakfast buffet was good, with a variety of options including lots of cakes and pastries. The staff were very helpful and were available to answer any questions and offered to help with booking any excursions. We don't speak any Italian and had no problems whatsoever.
On our last day we had to check out very early and the hotel provided each of our party with a breakfast bag, which was a very nice surprise. The pool was lovely and used by us daily, especially after a walk up the many steps surrounding Minori.
We had a very enjoyable 4 nights staying here.

I would stay here again and I would recommend.

However some of the staff could be friendlier. It sometimes felt like I was distracting reception staff away from their cell phone……. However I’d like to add many of the other staff especially the cleaners were very friendly! In terms of cleanliness, I saw a lot of ants around the hotel! The day I arrived there were 1000s at the top of stairs as you arrive pool side.

Service was very poor. This is just one example of 3 occasions where we were not well treated: TV was turning on automatically several times at night we complain to the cleaning lady when she came in the morning and she just said I am not here at night. Not willing to report or guide us how to avoid this. We left one night in advance, the room was not as it was in the picture and there were ants in the room, cleaning lady complained to us for eating in the room in a very rude way. In general, with the exception of a lady in the pool and the valet parking guy, the personnel were rude.

Excellent location. Easy access to restaurants, promenade and beach. My back garden view was amazing with lemon trees scattered all over the hills.
Though end of season with much less guests and tourists around, I found it extremely attractive and love the peaceful surroundings.

It was a wonderful stay. Although the bedding was a bit thin and the bed pretty hard and uncomfortable it was a lovely room and hotel. Also should be aware that if you choose a room with a view / window you’ll hear people on the street all night. Terrible breakfast if I’m being honest. A lot of options but just very bad quality.

The hotel is spacious and has rooms with high ceilings. The pool was small but big enough for a dip even though the slot bookings were a pain. The room was dusty and every morning would be waken up by the made at 8:30 going pass with her noisy trolly. Some of the receptionists could do with a smile or a friendly welcome. The hotel is beautiful. You are a 2 minute walk to the beach and ferry port to get around. Staff was helpful and nice. They pre-booked me a taxi ride to pick me up at 3am and take me to airport. I was grateful they handled that. I paid for my taxi ride but they organized it for me. Minori is amazing b/c it’s very local, not crowded ljke the other villages. It’s quaint, calm and relaxing. The hotel was beautiful and we were so happy we picked this hotel. I thought it was a 5 star hotel. But it should be. They also have an amazing spa that’s a Roman bath spa. Beautiful restaurant and location is great! I would stay here again!

It's a very nice and cozy hotel. The breakfast was very good and we really liked Minori. Our visit was in early August, and we liked the fact that Minori was quieter and not crowded like other Amalfi coast towns. Really nice restaurants in town and easy to get to the other towns through ferry.

The downside was we could hear noise coming from the rooms next door, as people were loud and we could hear their phones as well (alarms, social media sound, etc), also given that you go to the beach, there could be more places to hang towels, bathing suits, etc. Finally, if you book a place to go to the pool, make sure you get there early, or else you will be left without a good spot or not enough sunbeds next to the pool.

In general, we enjoyed our stay at the hotel.

THE ROOM OF DOOM !!!!! 💩💩

Not impressed with the nasty sewage smell in our room.
On our arrival we went to our room which seemed quite pleasant.
There was a heavy smell of cleaning detergent.
We returned back to find a funny smell in our room.
In the morning it was worse, we mentioned it to the manager that there was a sewage smell coming from our room but he did nothing to help.
We were told the problem was fixed but again they had just put some kind of detergent down the pan.
The next morning same nasty smell, my wife refused to stay another night.
Thankfully one person did help us at the hotel and phoned us an alternative hotel to stay at, thanks j.j.
Was just a bit disappointing that nobody offered us an alternative earlier.
There was clearly a problem with that room but instead of fixing the problem initially they try and cover it up as it's a cheaper alternative.
Especially when it was our wedding anniversary and it wasn't a cheap hotel.

The position is a walking distance from the city center.
Do not skip the restaurant/ bar of SAL DE RISO (2' minutes walking) with very good food and incredible desserts !!!

Everything about this hotel was fabulous. Roberta and Anna on Reception were fantastic- nothing was too much trouble.
The only downside to the hotel is the taxi company they use. Don’t book taxi travel via the hotel - it’s far more expensive. The taxi company charge supplements for some of their trips which other taxi companies don’t and they wanted to charge a cancellation fee to cancel a booking the day after it was made for travel two weeks later.

Villa Romana and Minori provided a terrific respite from the otherwise touristy and sometimes frustrating Amalfi coast. Our room, pool, and restaurant were very enjoyable. Suggested improvements would be to allow better control of the air conditioning by the visitors and it would be much appreciated to keep the pool open later than 1830 (another 4 hours would be terrific!).

Nice hotel - not suited for young families due to large amount of pensioners. We didn’t feel welcome at the pool and we got ‘noise’ reprimands mid day when alone at the pool.
Coffee was terrible (go to mansini bar next door! Like the staff does). Breakfast was a cake buffet not a worthy of 4 star hotel.

The shinning light of our visit was the beds that admittinbly was 5 star and then some

Our bedroom was an economy double and was small. It was at the back of the hotel away from the noisy road but unfortunately had a bank of air conditioning units underneath our window and if they were all running, it was very loud and meant we could not have the window open. Staff were excellent. Hotel location very convenient. Everywhere was very clean and bed was comfortable.

We stayed last week at the Villa Romana and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The hotel is ideally situated minutes from the beach, cafes and restaurants in a nice area of Minori. The hotel is beautifully kept and the room was cleaned daily with fresh linen. The staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful, very approachable.
There was an extensive breakfast selection , the dinners were OK but rather English in style, we would have preferred a bit more Italian flair. We had a very relaxing time ( apart from a constantly barking dog one day) with some spectacular thunderstorms thrown in. Thoroughly recommend this hotel and town, much nicer and quieter than Amalfi.

We came back from our week stay at the villa romana hotel and spa yesterday, wanting to go straight back. This hotel is an absolute delight! The welcome at the airport for our transfer was wonderful with the lovely pasquale (?) giving us little snippets of information and pointing out landmarks along the way. When we arrived at the hotel we were greeted in a friendly warm manner by the receptionist. We were shown to our room and our case arrived seconds later. The room was lovely. A traditional room that was spotlessly clean. We quickly unpacked wanting to explore the small quaint town of minori and it didn’t disappoint. We ate out at various restaurants so I can’t comment about dinner at the hotel. The breakfast however was fantastic with just about everything you could imagine on display. The room was cleaned daily with fresh towels supplied. The hotel pool was slightly smaller than I imagined but perfectly formed, pool towels were also supplied daily. We loved everything about the town, the hotel, the restaurants and their surrounding areas. A jewel on the Amalfi coast not to be missed!!!

The property was conveniently located in proximity to the beach and pier for ferry transportation on the Amalfi Coast. The town locals are friendly and nearby restaurants are authentic and prices are less than other Amalfi towns. The quaint pool was also conveniently steps from our room and refreshing from the heat. The staff were pleasant and helpful. However, the rooms and bathrooms need updating and breakfast was unappealing. Many options but fresh fruit was the only best choice. Breakfast quality and freshness is highly preferred over quantity. Minori was a welcoming small village if you prefer a quiet stay on the Amalfi Coast.

Arrived at Villa Romana check in was fast and courteous. Bags and car were taken care of immediately.

We required a family room. Room was neat and clean. No view! Looked onto a wall of another hotel.

Pool was very nice but closed at 6:30pm.

Bathroom facilities were okay. No place to put shampoo, shower gel, etc. when in the shower.

Breakfast had everything you could need.

Overall location was great. As for the price, it was overpriced for what we got.

We really enjoyed our stay at villa romana. We stayed for 6 nights with our 6 month old baby. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful - on one occasion even calling several taxi firms to find one that had a suitable infant safety seat. Highly recommend.

The hotel is clean and staff were friendly and helpful at all times. Rooms are a good size with modern features whilst retaining Italy’s character.

The hotel is located on a small street about a 2 minute walk to the beach. The street is noisy and there is no soundproofing in the rooms so you have the constant noise of scooters and horns beeping when in the room.

Breakfast is pretty good with a wide selection to choose from.

We had dinner in the hotel once, I would say the food was 7/10 and choice was quite limited. That said is wasn’t expensive for 3 courses so value wasn’t too bad.

Overall this was a good base for our trip and offers good value for money.

Very noisy in morning ,could not lie in ,staff was helpful ,room not cleaned to well,4occasions we had to call for toilet paper for our room ,staff was allways helpful ,had to que for swimming pool ,otherwise you would not get a sunbed ,lovely pool ,but small ,we did have a lovely time ,was a bit disappointed

Don't be fooled with what you see

I booked this hotel as one of the last hotel in my long trip to italy and it was a very wrong choice. This is due to many reasons:
1- The pictures you see while booking is so deceiving. There is no spa in the hotel as the pictures suggest. It is a separate place

2- they charged me 20 euros per night for parking my car and when I wanted to leave they made me wait one hour to bring it to me and delayed my trip to Rome for an hour.

3- the staff were not so friendly and when I was complaining about the delay to bring my car they tried to make it my fault which is not a professional thing to do.

Great hotel in perfect location.

Greeted on arrival as if we were long lost friends. Roberta on the front desk was excellent and would do anything for us. Great location in Minori. My favorite part of the Almafi coast. Mainly Italians around and everything is extremely authentic. Hotel had a nice swimming pool and great rooms and grwat buffet breakfast. 5 mins walk to the beach. Great restaurants in every direction. Would definitely come back and have already recommended it to many 😃

Well located in Minori

The hotel is very good. For a 4 star some decor needs attention and the lift was very small indeed. Food and breakfast was excellent and so was the staff and bed comfort. Location is prime. Coffee machine in room would be great. The shower can be improved. Yes it matches a 4 * standard. Having said all the above. The staff make up for everything. Credit to them.

Hotel Villa Romano

It is a lovely quaint village, with a good harbour service to Amalphi , Plenty of restaurants not too expensive Main courses €8 to €12 Mostly pasta and pizzas Very little in sea food available. Hotel was good . Breakfast =Choice 0f a few cereals, Juices {concentrates} fruit Prunes kiwi peaches pineapple and fruit cocktail . About 5 different croissants and they excelled themselves with all the fancy cakes and a few salad items Now the hot breakfasts werent great, Rashers{Bacon} hard and very salty sausages not very tasty but the sml frankfurters were good except salty, terrible scrambled eggs salty. Also Beans which were nice and cheeses and quiches and salad and a few cooked meats. So you would'nt go hungry. Also coffee machines which also served hot water to make tea. Bedroom cleaned every day and beautiful towels changed as well. Pool area small and very hot . Not enough mattresses for the sun beds. Overall the hotel was good but OMG the heat

Heatwave, Aircon very poor.

We found the hotel to be nice as a whole, however we were dissapointed with the comfort. we stayed during July and very hot weather.
The aircon in the room was very poor. It was very old with a dial on the wall.
The room info had instructions not to touch the aircon. We did anyway however it remained poor.
At breakfast the waiter with the tiny body and massive head was an angry little man.
The reception staff were very efficient and seemed really pleased to help.
Because of the aircon issues I wouldn't recommend this hotel. However if the system was modern and efficient I would recommend'

Terrible Hotel

First of all it is not anything like it advertises. There is no SPA on the premises. You have to walk a mile to some spa on the beach that says they're affiliated with the hotel. You need to \"ask\" permission for the front desk to turn on your air condition in the room. It goes off all the time and every time you leave the room. Then you have to ask again. No air condition in lobby. Staff was rude and unaccomodating. Breakfast was the fake cappuccino from the machine. We saw a few roaches in the lobby, notified the staff and they didn't budge! Pool very small but clean. It advertises it's in the town. It's not. You must walk to the town and beach. This whole website for the hotel was a lie.

Lovely resort, lovely hotel

A lovely hotel just 2 minutes walk from the bars, restaurants and beach, though it's still in a quiet location.

Rooms are comfortable and clean, huge double bed, nice size bathroom with shower. Staff are very attentive.

Resort is lovely. We were there at the end of June and it was ideal. I suppose it would be busier in the height of Summer. Food choices are ample.

If you hire a car be aware that parking is difficult in the resort. The hotel has it's own car park but will work out expensive at €20 per night. Car is very safe in there though.

Hotel Villa Romana

There isn't a lot to Minori but it is a good base from which to visit other locations such as Amalfi and Positano. Hotel Villa Minori was very pleasant, clean and comfortable and the staff could not have been more helpful. I'm not convinced, though, that the hotel deserves 4* status. There is no real hotel bar and the dining room has a very limited menu aimed at half-board package tourists.
