It’s a great hotel in a great location. Great restaurants close by, beautiful beach, staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent, probably my only criticism of our stay was the high prices of drinks and food at their restaurant.

It is as good as any resort I've stayed in while on Thailand. Besides Bangkok, I've stayed in similar resort's in Phuket and Krabi. Everything is exactly as advertised and the staff and service are 5 star. Extremely quiet.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Nice food and drink in the restaurant. Close to all amenities. Only negatives were the lack of storage space for clothes and the wardrobe being in the bathroom, having said that the extraction was good. The room was a lovely size. The noise from the renovations was a little disturbing at times, and unfortunately the pool area suffered from the usual early morning towel hoggers.

Staff courteous, friendly and rooms clean and spacious.
BIG WATCH OUT! Ongoing building works immediately next to the pool/beach area which caused noise and dust disruption to our stay. Was supposed to have been completed by end November 2025 but looks like it’s still some months away (we left early Feb). Very disappointing and impacted our holiday negatively. Be aware.

The place is safe and quiet. Staff are accommodating and friendly. Easy access to the beach. The location of the hotel is close to restaurants and Central Samui. And to top of it all our stay was upgraded to free breakfast.

Baan Samui Resort was walkable to everywhere we needed to go Jeep at the front desk was very obliging when we needed her book excursions for us. All the staff were great. The only thing that let it down was the restaurant and bar, the drinks tasted like mocktails and not cocktails and the food we received on our last night wasn’t fit to eat it should never have been served to us

It's a busy area of Koh Samui which offers great restaurants nearby. The rooms were fantastic as was the beach, though it was a bit crowded in early Feb 2025. Super clean and comfortable with a friendly staff...this hotel is a great choice!

We had a great time here.. The hotel is in an in an ideal location and right on the beach with its own loungers and beam bags.
The staff were lovely and really helpful.
We had housekeeping daily, nice bar selling food overlooking the beach with a chilled vibe. We would definitely recommend this hotel and reasonably priced compared to others in the same area.

A lovely authentic hotel. Spotlessly clean. All rooms are spacious and bathrooms modern with an excellent shower.
Staff are so friendly especially Tam who loves all her ‘mamma’ and ‘papa’s’ and looks after you so well.
Definitely returning. Excellent location. Pool looks onto beach so spoilt for the swimming pool or sea or both!!! Thank you for an excellent stay xx

Best in chaweng for beach vacation

This hotel is great for a beach vacation . Located right at the best part of chaweng beach . Far enough from the noise and hustle of chaweng , while close enough to walk there ( about 10 min) . Close to the central mall .

This is not a big fancy resort, very clean well run smaller resort.
Probably the best option in chaweng if you are looking for a relaxing beach vacatiin

We had great time at Baan Samui! The hotel is perfectly located on the nice and quiet part of the beach. Rooms are very clean, there is enough space in the room and overall very nice and cozy. Stuff is just amaizing, always very friendly and polite! Pool is also nice, clean and big enough.

Overall great location. Awesome service, friendly staff. Breakfast was very good. Wifi worked well. Back of the hotel is beautiful beach with free beach chairs and bookable activities around and front is on the street next to shops, restaurants, travel/activity agents, etc. Hotel itself is older, but they've made good efforts to make it look updated and nice. The style is more outdoor with textured stucco rather than clean 5-star look. it was ok. Didn't try either restaurant because the one on the beach was 2-3x higher for some of the same food and didn't look any better, though a great setting. Didn't try the other one because although the live music is a nice touch both night the person they had was really off-key and I found it more annoying than anything. Staff was extremely friendly and eager to help. We had a all-day snorkel trip and they offered a paid late checkout in the evening or if we just wanted to shower we could check out before and use the shower room for free. If we are back we will stay there again. AC and shower worked great, though water wasn't too hot in shower, just warm.

The staff was very nice and the food very tasty. However, I feel that this hotel needs to do a few things better to merit a better rating. There’s a sense of complacency within the staff, I felt. The cushions of the pool lounges need a serious overhaul, the pool towels have seen better days and I was sad to see that they do not clean the beach every day. Also, the ladder leading into the pool is wobbly and if mgmt was more “on the ball”, this would have been fixed a long time ago. Further, we had drinks in the room and the cold glasses left watermarks on the table. These were never cleaned during our 5 nights stay at the hotel. These small things, which would be easy to avoid, lead me to my review score.

Was a really lovely stay, great location, great food, great customer service,
Great staff and most importantly for me was toddler friendly with a great kids pool, Would stay here again.
Close to the centre of town but also a private beach, was nice and quiet even being in town.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and have no complaints other than it being so close to the airport so hearing planes take off most days was a bit annoying, however my toddler loved it haha.

Great Location and Staff - Rooms a little old

Great first time experience in Koh Samui. The hotel staff was friendly and quickly resolved several issues we had with the rooms. All the other guests in the hotel are friendly as well. Checkin was fast and efficient.
The hotels cats are wonderful to have around. We stayed for 6 nights in the Superior Deluxe in mid March 2018.
The location is perfect, far enough away from the ArkBar (less noise) and easy walking distance to all the main places in the area. All we read about the Chewang Beach area was it is a party atmosphere which we did not believe it was, if near the ArkBar then yes, but this hotel far enough away.
We are planning our holiday next year same area (different hotel) and time of year, weather and water was perfect.

Wow! What a wonderful stuff and service!
We booked 2 nights in advance. After the first night we asked to stay two more nights, and got the same price ;)
On the last (4th) night, our baby was sick and we took him to the hospital, who asked us to stay close. So we got back to the hotel at 1am, asked to stay another night, and they made sure we stay on the same room.
We really appreciate their service and their help. You're in good hands if you come here!
Besides, the hotel itself is sooo beautiful. And the rooms as well! There's no an ordinary door between the room and the shower/bathroom but that's fine with us. Great location! Close to everything and still quite.
Perfect for families with little kids and babies.
Thank you so much! We enjoyed very much and would definitely come back once we visit Koh Samui again.

First time in thialand so not sure what to expect, the rooms were just what we expected, although not sure if the rough finishings of the walls/grouting etc were a deliberate attempt to look rustic or just plane rough,lol. The pool and beach were just what was expected. We were dissappointed to be charged for a broken glass,50baht, for a really thin glass. Did not eat at Baan Sumia so cannot comment apart from to say what we saw others eating looked good.Drink prices were high.Shop just outside for chilled drinks etc. All in all the resort beach side was fine but street side was just too in your face,too many people wanting a slice of the holiday maker. Staff in Baan were fine. Couple of big cockroaches in our room but we were ground floor so only to expect some kind of beasty. The wifi dropped out all the time but note sure if it was to do with us using iphones,had to keep logging back in.
Prior to arrival we had contacted the Baan twice to check on something and neither time got an answer,this was dissappointing.
Arriving at Koh Samui airport you are faced with not a lot of choice, either the one and only taxi firm on the Island or a shared shuttle, shuttle half the price of taxi if theres 2 of you ,coming back you can get a taxi for 2 for 300 baht if your good at asking. Taxis at door of Baan all the time.

Perfect location on the beach and a short walk to some of the best restaurants in Koh Samui. Walk out onto the beach for super relaxation or any beach activity you can think of.
If sand isn't for you kick back on the deck chairs around the pool and sauna
Or walk out the front to shopping restaurants or a cab ride to any amazing activity!
Only down side the beds and pillows are hard. Maybe time to upgrade the pillows!

The location is central to shopping, eating and socializing without being chaotic! Staff are amazing and the hotels have an eclectic feel about it ie. multicoloured. The only downside is that when people come back at 1am to party in the rooms next to you this can be somewhat annoying if you are trying to sleep! Best place to grab a massage and across from a mini mart, food market and gorgeous beach setting. Great for families with children of all ages. I think that if you have an expectation of 4-5 star from a western perspective then you will be wrong this is a 3 star but a great place to stay!

Great place to stay, breakfast was very good... It's in the middle of town so location is great, but you are also right on the beach!

Can get noisy at night (because of the location, you can't have everything...) so if you want something quiet, ask for a room at the back of the hotel by the beach.

We have stayed here twice, superior deluxw (ground floor room), very long property from street to beach. Great pool, clean good sized rooms, no main street noise once you pass thru reception, close to everything in Chaweng, beach and water clean, beachside restaurant and bar good, massage on site. The resort is quite colorful. We did not have breakfast included in our room, but can be purchased daily. One negative thing, free wifi is not included, which happened to be the only resort of 6 that we stayed at in Samui. You can go to the front restaurant and ask for wifi password, but it only lasts for 2 hours. Baan Samui get with the times and provide free wifi for your paying guests. Stayed most recently 29/6/2016 for 4 nights

Location was excellent, decor tired.

Facilities and room furniture in desperate need of updating and replacement. the bed was like sleeping on a cement floor, even though two pillow tops were added after our complaints.
Each wall was a different bright colour which had faded, sink plug would not hold and taps wobbled on the sink. Every surface in the room including floors, walls tiles and benches are very badly presented with marks and scratches.
Eating area is not air conditioned and unpleasant on humid days.
Staff were very friendly and the food selection was quite good.
The front desk area was also very old and in need of an update, also not air conditioned whilst waiting on arrival and also whilst checking out, even though staff were most helpful and pleasant. Some staff were difficult to explain things to with the language barrier, but still smiling ang trying.
Overall our stay was somewhat marred by the above listed issues, only the weather and pool/beach kept us enjoying our time.

Baan Samui is a comfortable, dynamic resort in the heart of Chaweng that is still very relaxing. The staff here are outstanding. They are hardworking, and extremely friendly. There is live music everyday. Sometimes on the street and on the beach. The beach bar and restaurant area is fantastic. We will stay here on our next trip to Chaweng beach for sure. It was relaxed and GREAT FUN.

There is no reason to stay at this hotel, as there are so many other options.
They say free Wifi, but it's limited to the pool area. Rooms are musty and look old. They charge extra for everything they can. Including an extra $50 if you bring a guest home. Horrible communication because of lack of English. Would never ever ever stay here again or wish it on my worst enemy.

I enjoyed a relaxing 5 days. The resort was all I'd hoped for, right on the beach and with lots of ambiance. Staff were very attentive and also helpful if you needed assistance. We made the most of happy hour, cocktails at the right price are sure to be a crowd pleaser. The live entertainment every night meant we didn't want to leave the resort for anything. It was great that the food at the resort was first class. I would recommend Baan Samui to all of my friends.

The staff here are absolutely awesome. Helped with everything from baggage to booking tours, recommendations, etc. Honestly some of the friendliest and most helpful staff I have met in my never ending travels. We stayed one night in a regular room then upgraded to a villa. IF you can afford to do so, do not hesitate. The regular rooms are good value for the hotel, but the villas are incredible. Being able to enter the pool from your living room was not bad at all. Both pools are great at the resort, but the private villa pool is unreal. We got free 1.5hr spa treatments for two or a free dinner for two for each night at the villa. Very very cool resort.

The only thing bad I can say is that the surrounding area is a little seedy, but it is Phuket/Thailand. Kata Beach itself is nice, but you do have to walk- it isn't far but the walk isn't very nice. The restaurant is decent, and it is beautiful, but the food quality isn't up to par with what I would expect from such a pretty place.

First visit to to Ko Samui and was recommended this hotel by a family member. Excellent location along Chaweng beachfront with beach access directly from the hotel. A minimart right across the road which was very handy and just a few minutes walk (less than 5 mins) to Central Festival shopping mall which had all the modern restaurants, cafes and shops. A 400 baht taxi ride to/from the airport. Very pleasant staff and decent size rooms. We had two rooms side by side for parents and teens. The parents room had a connecting door but to the room on the opposite side to where the kids were. This made it trickier to share things like bug spray and toiletries but there were phones in the room so we made use of these to organise dinner etc. Overall a very pleasant stay.

Great Location! But no free wifi.

The location is great, right on the beach. Situated centrally on Chaweng Beach. Rooms are colourful and cute with their mix-match of colours. Stayed in a room with a king bed - FYI, king bed consists of two king single beds pushed together, with two single bed doona covers. This was not an issue and bed was still comfortable. Staff are friendly, speak English well. Please be warned that this hotel has a bar attached that plays LOUD music until midnight every night, so loud it sounds like it's outside your door. Do not stay here if you prefer to sleep before midnight, if you'll be out every night til the early morning, this will not be an issue for you. A downside to this hotel is that, it does NOT provide free WiFi. This was a shock considering the size of the hotel and its costs. I have stayed at cheaper hotels on the island that provided free WiFi. WiFi was 100baht per day. Also the hotel provide laundry service, but expensive at 100baht per kilo and three-days turn around. Tip - go across the road, its 40baht per kilo and is ready the next day. I would recommend the hotel for its cleanliness and location (short walk to central market), but a bit further away from attractions like Arc Bar and ladyboy shows, but further away means about 20mins walk away, so location is still good.

Great location and well managed hotel

This is a great hotel for a laid back holiday. Right on the beach and also has easy access to a range of restaurants and shops. Very quiet as long as you do not stay in the row of rooms facing the street.

Great location in the heart of Chewang

Location great, beach great for swimming. The actual resort is very appealing, great grounds, staff were fantastic and very friendly, the only thing was , we were disappointed with our room. We were on the 3rd level, and there were a few things we we not happy with. The room looked tired, bathroom needed new grout around the bath, no soap, had to ask for face washes, the door was very difficult to open and close , they did try to fix it but it was only better on the last day. Also there was a very unpleasant smell in our room for the last two days of our stay, it was coming through the air conditioning , they gave us a burner in our room, which did nothing to take the smell away. In saying this , our friends had a room on the ground floor, which was much nicer than our room.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel it is in a good location and is right on the beach. The staff was very friendly . We stayed one night before going to Ko tao and then stayed another night when we returned

Great Location at Chaweng Beach (quiet part)

We stayed here for 2 nights at standard room with small balcony. The location of this hotel is great, since this is the quieter part of Chaweng beach but still the central area. You could walk through the hotel's pretty long garden and swimming pool to reach the beach in less than 1 minutes. Very lovely room with cute balcony. Although the band is a bit noisy till 11 o'clock, it's still nice to stay here for 2 nights with very reasonable price. The reception girls are very friendly and helpful. overall lovely place and good deal for group of friends and young couples.

Good Hotel

We stayed 5 nights at Baan Samui & enjoyed our stay. The Hotel is located at the quieter end of Chaweng Beach & is beach front.
The Chaweng Beach strip is busy & you do hear the planes landing & taking off from the airport which you get used to after a day or so.
The garden view room was a good size & clean and the Hotel staff were friendly & courteous.
The Hotel is well located near a number of restaurants & bars both on the street & the beach with the beach front more preferable.

initial reaction was that it was not a superior hotel- not as flash as some we have stayed at elsewhere. However, our friends and us both decided at the end of stay that we would definitely come back again - although not as flash, we really couldn't fault it - it was a very casual and bright and friendly atmosphere - right on the beach with lounges available to all guests, along with waiter service at the beach and pool. Location was very handy for us, and just a little distance away from the \"younger\" teenagers who are at the other end of the strip. The beach was possibly the best on the island. Facilities included restaurant on the beach which was very pleasant. The layout was also good, as being not as spread out as other hotels made it more friendly and lots of chance to meet other guests. Lovely gardens and a nice bright décor. Would definitely recommend to others who don't need the luxury/opulence of a top quality spa/resort. Also very well priced.

Nice hotel in a great area

I think in the overall, the hotel was good, the highlights are the swimming pool and the restaurant both very good! The problem is that the room was a little bit moldy, the water in the shower and sink had an odd smell. The staff in the reception are very friendly, but they don't speak English very well. Apart from these, the hotel is very well located close to bars, restaurants and nightlife. Will come back there, for sure!

Peaceful Paradise

This hotel is situated right on the beach so it was direct access onto the sand. We found Tony the manager in reception to be very helpful and informative whilst staying at the Baan Samui. The staff speak little english so at times there was a language barrier. The breakfast was included in our package and there was quite a variety of foods to eat. The meals for lunch & dinner were very tasty as well.

A great disappointment

The staff request fees for anything, including parking of a rented motorbike (only in cash!). Internet doesn't work (even if paid#. Even if your computer works perfectly before and after.... This is because of the computer...Even if the hotel computer doesn't work for checking...
And when the staff give you an appointment with a specialist for review it... The specialist doesn't come at the meeting !!!
The staff request money for local guest payable in cash !!! Even if you book a room for 2 persons #not aplicable for foreigners!!!)

It is a pity because the hotel is well located with a wonderful beach
