This was in a great location to be near all the hustle and bustle. Direct beach access and awesome pool. Lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance. Our bed was very hard and uncomfortable, but other than that, this was a great place to stay. Very much feels like Vegas on the beach in a way for how busy it was. Nightly fire dancing. Clubs and music. Bars an restaurants. Fun place to stay

Rooms were simple but stylish and well appointed, good shower. Very well priced, compared to some other hotels in Chaweng.
Next to a busy beach bar/club, but I still managed to sleep well before midnight

Spacious room, clean and up to date decor. Can be a little noisy but location is very central to all the attractions ant Cheweng Beach. The staff were wonderful especially Xiang Xiang on reception. Had a problem with the shower head and she organized to have it replaced within an hour! Gym costs a daily charge and is overstocked so can be a bit difficult to work out in but all equipment is kept clean.

If I had known what I was getting into - this would have been a nice place to stay... but I didn't. I had hoped for a relaxing stay but the hotel is on the flight pattern for the airport so planes landing every 15 minutes or so from 6:15 am to 10 pm... and then there was the loud dueling bars close by that play live music until 3 am. All that would have been fine but because this was the worst place for a relaxing solo stay, when I told the team at the hotel about the problem, they refused to help me in any way. So sorry you booked for 12 days - too bad, so sad. Nothing but blank looks and mean nasty notes from the staff behind the scenes. It was so bad I left for several days and paid for accomodations elsewhere. Hotels.com felt bad and gave me some subsidy which I sincerely appreciated. So all said, nice place if you know what you are buying into. Terrible for the person looking for a calm quiet vacation. (and now I know better that this part of Koh Samui isn't calm nor quiet).

This was one of the BEST hotel experiences I had in Thailand. The only drawback is a.little noise into the night from the neighboring party bars, but it didn't bother me.much.

I loved the elevated platform bed. They did not skimp like other hotels and I had new clean sheets everyday, felt luxurious. The room had absolutely everything I needed and a welll sized balcony. The highlight of the property was the resort facilities. Their beach side is one of the nicest. The grounds were so highly maintained, I questioned how I could be paying so little for my room. They had a wonderful massage place right next door and it was the best prices around. They had a massive lobby space at Chaweng Beach Resort which was wonderful as a co-working space. The adjacent coffee shop and convenience store were the best. Everything was cheap compared to all other places on the street. And the cafes were too notch! Can be so hard to find a good cafe yet this hotel had one connected to it. I would not only stay here again, I would stay here long-term, for a month, and post my obituary that \"I've died and gone to Hotel J4 in Koh Samui\".

Positive :

We enjoyed every moment while staying at J4 for a week.
The staff are lovely, alway smiling and helpful, especially at the front desk.

Room: Large bed, comfortable and clean. The shower room is perfect! Overall, everything is up to standard.

You can get free access to the facilities of the Chaweng garden hotel (twin hotel) - like sun beds in front the beach (stunning sea view), the swimming pool, the beautiful garden and the breakfast area.

At night, the front beach has a nice and cheap sea food buffet, and the dipping sauce is delicious - especially the French sauce. The cocktail bar is 5-8 pm. They have a happy hour price, just 150 bht / drink.

Location: quite a noisy area, however you have a variety of restaurants and you can find the cheap food at Central Samui - try the Pad Thai at the food court, it’s delicious and just 130 baht, a lot cheaper than in restaurants.

A negative was once we arrived, there wasn’t a bell boy to help move our bags. The staff who are at the front desk said that they were busy, so we had to carry our bags up to Level 3. We were tired from 14 hours of travel by Coach and Ferry… so…

Additionally, another negative issue is the noise from neighbouring clubs which obviously isn’t J4s fault! They played loud music and created a party environment from 12pm till late at night. Luckily, the noise is quieter once the bathroom door is shut.

Thus, J4 is a value of money choice and made our holiday far more perfect! Recommended!

This is a great little bargain if you want to be near green mango. The rooms are super clean and modern and the bathrooms are nice., but the beds are pretty hard. You will hear noise from outside, but this was a great place to stay for a quick stop over. You also have access to the pool and beach through the neighboring Chaweng Garden hotel. I’d do it again.

Hotel staff were really nice. Be prepared for 1,000 bht deposit. The hotel is literally right next to ark bar but we chose garden view room and we couldn’t hear much. We could hear muffled music but this didn’t stop us sleeping - if anything it was white noise. Room was good, had a fridge, toiletries, hair dryer, but didn’t have iron or iron board. The room did have fresh water everyday and kettle. The balcony is more of an open patio but ours was on the end so pretty private. We also had parking for our hired scooters which was a plus. Daily house keeping too. All round great value for money - would stay again. Only thing I would say is that the room was a little dark, lacked natural light.

Nice location if you want to be right in the middle of all the action of nightlife. The price is super affordable for a clean room with lovely staff. Don’t stay here if you are counting on a peaceful nights sleep. The hotel will warn you and also offers free earplugs. Loads of walkable restaurants to choose from nearby.

Overall we were happy with our 5 day stay. Everything was great, the staff was amazing. We checked out and arrived to USM airport and realized we had left one of our wedding rings in the room, called the hotel to see if they could ship it to our home. They quickly found it, drove to the airport and delivered it to us right before our flight. How incredible and how very kind of them!!

Nice central Chaweng beach hotel

The hotel is new and you have access to the facilities of the Chaweng Garden Hotel (pools and beach club). The location is A1 as you have access to the beach and ut is right in the middle of the action.

Room is small but very functional.

My only dislikes : the windows are not air tight and let the hot humod air enter the bathroom and the air conditionning system could not get the room as cool as I would have wanted it.

J4 is now associated with Chaweng Garden Beach Resort so direct access to wooded property and beach. Nicely renovated hotel and rooms in the center of every thing in Chaweng. All the basics with resort access. Great staff and spotless. The hotel is in direct line with the runway - but for plane buffs an added bonus - and there are not that many flights per day.

Great budget hotel with access to resort facility

The hotel is really centrally located in chaweng, but it's pity that everything around the hotel closed due to the pandemic. The hotel is a sister hotel of the chaweng garden beach resort so guests can use also the facilities of the resort hotel, which is very nice. The private beach of the hotel is great for snorkeling if weather permits. The food in the restaurant is also good and reasonable price. The internet was excellent in the room and the hotel takes many measures to eliminate mosquitos in the hotel premises. Everything was great and I'd recommend it.

The property was very very clean and super close to the beach. It is wise to note that the G4 was taken over by the Chaweng beach resort. So when you check in, you would check in there.

The staff was incredibly friendly and amazing.

Great new hotel with beautiful design rooms. Everything was cool, close chewang beach and the nightlife too. I am very hapy we choose this hotel. The street was a litle bit noisy but still ok :)

Only a minute walk to the beach, it was a gorgeous walk. Location was super convenient since we were near a food market, restaurants, bars, shops etc. It can get loud at night but it was manageable. Staff went above and beyond to make sure we had an enjoyable stay.

Lovely view over the gardens 2 mins away from the beach, the lively ark bar is the next bar in the beach side which is definitely worth a visit at night, very lively with fire shows and a great atmosphere. Staff are lovely as English is good, happy to order taxis to airport for 350 bat
Slight negative this time, At night being on the higher level there is quite a lot of noise from the main streets bars etc comes in through the bathroom vent which we didn’t get on the ground floor so worth asking for a g/f room.

Best hotel ever!

Soft fluffy towels made up in various different animals. Cleanliness was amazing. Down on the beach you can relax on one of the sunbeds of one of the neighbouring hotels without having to pay because of a deal they have. Great location for restaurants and bars but they do play into the night and depending on your room location depends on how loud it is, thankfully my room was relatively quiet. One of the more cozy rooms but was one of the better hotels I've stayed in too

If I could give this hotel 10 stars, I would. They allowed early check in. The view from our family suite is beautiful. The interior of the room was modern and spacious. The only downside is that they don’t have an elevator but it wasn’t a problem because we were staying on 3rd floor. What really impressed me was that I had an incident where I had to get rushed to the hospital, the hotel took care my ride to and back from the hospital. The manager gave her personal phone number to me so that I could call her if I needed anything at the hospital. The staff were so caring and attentive, when I got back from the hospital everyone asked if I was doing okay and I felt so well taken care of. On the day I check out, the Thai prince was visiting Samui and this is known to cause the traffic to be heavily jammed. They managed to book a taxi for me the night before to make sure I get to the airport in time. I am thankful for their hospitality and kindness. I will forever remember this wonderful experience. I would 100% come back to stay here.

Center of everything in Chaweng

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights during our visit to Chaweng. This hotel is in the heart of Chaweng, a 2 minute walk to the beach and the night life. About a 3-4 minute to the popular Ark Bar as well. Overall the hotel felt brand new and the room was modern and clean. The AC did a great job at cooling the room fast. This is great because the shower / bathroom have vents that go outside and if you leave the bathroom door open, all the cold air will go out. So we had to make sure that we closed the bathroom door each time to keep the room nice and cold. The staff were also great and were very friendly. There is a 7-eleven across the street and a McDonald next door. This hotel though is not for you if you are looking for an early night sleep and if you are a light sleeper. It is really a hotel for those who enjoy a late night life and don't mind the noise. You can hear the bars and the numerous annoying Thai boxing trucks throughout the night due to the open vents in the bathroom. Only suggestion I have for the J4 management is that you should offer the gym to guests for free instead of the 80 THB a day fee. Overall though it is a great hotel and I would stay here again.

4 nights, very comfortable, cool rooms, helpful staff helped me easily rent a scooter, walkable to beach Great service. Staff also helped set up ride to the airport. Problem with this place is how close it is to a very loud street. One of the nights the music was so loud that we had to wear ear-plugs.This area is completely touristic, and is flooded with people every night. Restaurants on this street are overpriced, and not as delicious as in other parts of the island. If you don't mind large crowds of tourists and loud music late into the night, this place is clean and comfortable. However, steer clear if you're looking for an authentic island-vibe kind of place.

Loved our stay here!

Excellent location for people who want to be close to everything- beach, bars, good food, shopping, spas/massage, etc. Not a quiet location, but the street noises were not bothersome for us. Perfectly simple room, cool layout, very comfortable firm matress bed, spacious bathroom with hot shower and good water pressure. Everything brand new. Super convenient place to stay.
McDonald's, 7-11, street food, money exchange, all within a stones throw.
Excellent value, would definitely stay again!!

Clean, modern hotel in a convenient area

Check in was quick and easy. Room was clean and comfortable. I really like the bed and pillows. Room wasn’t huge but it was designed to maximize space, so we had no issues with our luggage. We were lucky to get a room which is further away from the Main Street. The location of the hotel was perfect. However, if you got a room which is close to the Main Street, it could be noisy since the bars and clubs can be quite loud throughout the night. Short walk to the beach.

Stylish and comfortable

In Samui for a 3 day business trip. Stayed at J4 Hotel because it was close to my customer's location. And was pleasantly surprised. Hotel is new and clean. Rooms are small but very nicely designed. Two big positives - nice mood and accent lighting and a good sized bath and shower. These help make a small sized room much more comfortable. There's no pool, which is a shame, but very close to the beach and the action in Chaweng if that is what you are looking for.

My only suggestion is that they upgrade the breakfast choices a little. But all in all a nice, good value place to stay in Chaweng Beach.

One shout out to the staff - in small, lower cost hotels like this they normally do not have lots of amenity options. I like small, thin pillows and most hotels seem to offer thick, and hard, ones. Typically when I ask at the front desk, the answer is always, \"we only have one type\". Well, at J4 they even had a pillow to suit me. Nice!

J4 amazing room and great hotel

Our stay at J4 was perfect. We loved the modern room design, and overall architecture of this new hotel in the heart of Chaweng. The location and staff were prefect for our needs. The staff were always super helpful and made our stay great. A surprising thing was even though we where in the heart of Chaweng next to the Ark bar. We couldn't hear a thing inside the room. Which let us get a good night's sleep.

Getting to the beach was easy enough, just walk through the neighbouring hotel. The nightlife and bars are just across the road. Short walk to Festival Mall. And the price per night was perfect. On the ground floor they had a massage shop and gym, and new shops were being added.

I've stayed in similar priced rooms in Chaweng never again. I'm booking J4 from now on.

Best hotel on Samui

If having a pool is not a requirement for your stay, then this is where you should book. Stylish. Industrial design. Very secure. Clean. Professional. It’s not right on the beach but a minute or two walk from Chaweng Beach which stretches kilometres. The best place I have stayed in while traveling through Thailand.

The room was very nice, with good air conditioning, plenty of space, and comfortable beds and pillows. The hotel provides beach towels and access to sunbeds on the beach, which is incredibly convenient. Nothing to complain about there.

However, there are two things worth mentioning. The breakfast is nothing specia, I’ve had better in Thailand. Additionally, the staff are not particularly friendly and can seem a bit irritated when you ask questions.

It’s also worth noting that taxis are operated by a single company in the area, and the hotel charges 400 THB for a ride to the airport, which is only about a five-minute drive away. There’s no discount for hotel guests.
