This was an excellent hotel. We had one night as a layover in Koh Samui, but we wish that we planned a longer stay, since the hotel was so great. There was a good vibe at the beach with a restaurant and a fire show in the evening. The rooms were huge and clean with a big and nice shower.

Hotel central to Chaweng. We have bungalow 322 and the room was very noisy at night due to music from the main road. We however were v tired and slept through. Breakfast was good.

Obtaining a sunbed is an issue.we withnessed numerous people hogging 2 sunbeds in the shade, 2 in the sun and 2 beach cushions. 6 items to sit on for two bums! The hotel staff do very little to monitor the tiwels unattended for more than 30 minites rule. I had a pair of sandles stolen from either my room or the patio, they were only a week old !

From check in to check out 6 nights later the hotel team were wonderful and helpful.
The room was comfortable and ac worked well. One suggestion: put up,a few hooks in the bathroom and sink area to hang a hand towel or clothing.
The team cleaned the beach twice each day after the high tide. Garbage, seaweed was gathered up. Very few resorts did this and their beaches were disgusting with trash and bottles. We are going to review those culprets.
Looking for a quiet place in Koch Samui? Give this property your time. It’s very comfortable

Dejligt hotel med meget hårde senge dog.
Dejlig pool og fin strand. Kraftig vind og bølger den første dag.
Frisk brød der var meget tørt til morgenmad. Tæt på hovedgade men uden larm.
Dyr mad/drikke men masser af steder i byen at spise.

Great location, accommodation was ok. Frustrating that they only give one key which turns off the electric and Aircon, especially as It's quite heavy with vegetation around the rooms, so mosquitos are rife.

Also wanted 1200 baht / night for a roll away bed for our 4 year old. Or he was to sleep in the same bed as us. Twin beds pushed together are larger than the double beds.

Bought a roll away bed from the Big C for 1000 baht and got to keep it.

This hotel wasn’t anything super fancy, but the rooms very clean, quit quiet considering it’s right on chaweng beach. I liked how it was literally right on the beach and right by the town. Everything you needed was right within easy walking distance. Honestly in such a perfect location. Had a decent breakfast in the morning. I would stay here again. Isn’t the most fancy but fantastic pricing for the location. No gym on this property but there is a huge gym in town in walking distance.

My favorite place in Chaweng

Very good and enjoyable experience in this hotel. Great location with direct access to the beach and to the busy street of Chaweng. Beautiful small resort with luxurious vegetation, big room, nice service, great food at breakfast and beach front restaurant.

Beautifully taken care of property. Loved all the natural trees that surround the beach area giving plenty of shade. Breakfast (especially the availability of traditional Thai noddle soup was a favorite. And rooms are comfortable with great air conditioning and showers. Service is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Nice hotel but has a couple of major problems. Food in the restaurant not the best. But the main problem for me were the showers in the room. Far too small, no room to wash and couldn’t anyway as the water went from hot to cold constantly so not fit for purpose. Fix the showers the hotel gets 4 stars.

Excellent. Dream spot. We booked a beachfront room. Looking out on the beach. About 20m to the water. A little more expensive than regular rooms but totally affordable. We are here on December 5 which seems like off season.

Great hotel location- the very heart of Chaweng Beach.
Beautiful jungle meets the sea garden setting. Very attentive staff. Nice, clean room and property. We dined on the beach at the hotel restaurant- Lalavadee. It was so good that we decided to spend the next day at this hotel. Excellent!

The staff are very helpful especially Waew. She helps us to arrange our itinerary during our stay. The safe was not working and they swiftly change our room. They give a birthday surprise by decorating our bed with flowers and a small birthday gift. Wonderful. The resort is right in the center of chaweng beach road. Accessible to shops, food and clubs. All walking distance. Love the resort.

Overpriced - Better Alternatives Nearby

The impression is that the hotel really doesn’t care about their guests. The room was big but in poor condition. Walls are painted a drab green and all walls are dirty. The furnishings are well worn and in poor repair. The double bed was two single beds shoved together, also blocking the electric outlet, and with a single nightstand to the side with a dilapidated lamp. The mattresses are very firm like a board. The room was next to the rear of the adjoining property’s service area. At check-out, when requesting a taxi, I requested they check the rate before confirming, they refused to check the rate and when the taxi arrived the driver wanted an absurd rate. When I refused the rate, the driver left. When I asked the front desk to call another taxi the rude woman at the desk refused saying she already did her job, it is my problem. I walked down the drive in the pouring rain to the taxi stand at the driveway entrance - where the first taco cane from. The first taxi quoted a rate 1/3 lower, and while high, more reasonable.

A rotten apple

Was booked for 3 nights st Baan Chaweng but needed to postpone my first night’s stay so asked the Thai staff at the hotel I was staying at to call and tell them I’d check in a day later and didn’t mind paying for that first night’s stay I’d miss. There was no problem with that request till the male reservation staff (the manager?) suddenly took the call from the female staff asking for more info at which time I was called to the phone...I was more than annoyed at how he was literally silent when I took the call and said do you need the info again and asked angrily why on earth do I have to repeat the info to him again and then he became defensive and said he didn’t ask to speak to me. Then I knew this guy was playing some ego-feeding mind games and I just ended the call and wound up extending my stay in Lamai rather than stay at a hotel where an arrogant guy like him is allowed to work. I know he’s just a rotten apple in the barrel because I inspected a room there last year to see if I’d like to stay there on my next trip and the staff there were more than accommodating and customer service oriented. They just need to give this rotting apple some CS training or else he’ll turn off and anger even more guests.

We are in love with this place.

It was our 2nd stay at the Baan Chaweng. We will defiantly come back again (and again).
We stayed at this hotel 4 years ago and then switched to a \"fancier\" hotel.

Well, 4 years later we returned to this one.
This can tell you how good it is.

Baan Chaweng is simply the best.
The staff is so so friendly and some of them even remembered us from 4 years ago.
They all smile and so friendly it was a pleasure.

The location is just perfect.
It's a beachfront hotel so it cant get any better than that.

We were a family of 4 with 2 little girls (7 and 10) and they also just loved this place.

We already decided that we will be back to Baan Chaweng next year again.
We met a family that been coming back to this hotel for more than 10 years.
It's a paradise.

The good resort with beautiful beaches and fine sand, in a central location right on the beach and close to the restaurants, bars and shopping.. Breakfast is average. The staff of the hotel was very good. It's a surprised that the resort had decorated our room to celebrated our birthday without our request, truly amazing. It takes about 20 minutes for the hotel to get to the airport with a taxi fare of THB 400. There are hawker selling BBQ meat and BBQ corn and also coconut water on the beach. Near Ark Bar, where there are a lot of people drinking, dancing and eating, is a very good hangout and lively place. However, the resort pool is a bit small.

so-so hotel in Chaweng beach not the best in Samui

Very old hotel in Chaweng, the busiest and oldest of the beaches in Samui.
We stayed for 3 nights and had reserved 3 rooms. Upon check in we were given one key per room, the old style key with a large wooden holder. We requested additional keys but were told their policy is one key per room. They have us the breakfast vouchers, again one voucher per room per day without the possibility of having breakfast at different times for those sharing a room. Very old style, inadequate approach to doing business.
The rooms were good size, beds comfortable but the furniture was dated.
A/C worked well. Breakfast had enough choices of cold and hot foods.
The majority of the guests were Chinese which added a certain noise level and behavior not conforming to International standards. The hotel was by the beach, unfortunately on both sides of the hotel there are medium ran downed restaurants which bring a numerous amount of people to this beach area.
A mistake to book a hotel in Chaweng, something to avoid if looking for a more quiet, less crowded environment.

Driveway to paradise

Entry from the main shopping strip of Chewang beach via a 100mtr driveway into a tropical paradise. The hotel is set in a luscious garden setting right on the beautiful Chewang beach. The rooms are large and clean in the Thai style. The breakfast is good and the setting of the retaurantb is inspired, allowing you to sit, eat and ponder the beautify ocean view whilst chomping down on a full breakfast (European and Asian style buffet).

If any thing could be improved it would be the upgrade of the mattresses (a little hard) and the towells, both beach and bath were showing their age, but both had life left in them so don't let that deny you a beautiful stay.

This was my second visit 10 years apart and I will be back sooner this time.

Best Resort Ever!!!

If you want to be in the middle of the action of Chaweng Beach but also want a bit of quiet and upscale accommodations, look no further than this resort. It was perfect for me. It is far enough away from the music of the nearby beach clubs but close enough to walk to them in less than 5 minutes. No noise at night. The resort grounds were spotless and beautifully maintained. Good security at night.

I had a superior room on the second floor. I loved my room. It had a king size bed (so comfy). The room was so large that they could have easily put another king size bed in the room with space to spare. The balcony was very inviting, accessed by double doors so when opened, it gave the room a very nice outdoorsy, regal feel. At night, it felt like you were sleeping in the jungle (but not). Bathroom large with good water pressure. Closet huge with plenty of hangers. Only a few English TV channels but who cares. Mini bar/frig, coffee facilities. Considering all the foliage, there were not many mosquitoes so I was able to enjoy my balcony.

Staff was EXCELLENT. So friendly and helpful. Nice beach service (drinks/food) from the waiters. All smiles. Breakfast was simple but plentiful. Pool looked very nice but I stuck to the clean beach. Plenty of beach loungers. No need to get up at the crack of dawn to get a good spot. Beach umbrellas and little tables were available for the asking. Never a shortage.

Going forward, I will only stay at Baan Chaweng when in Ko Samui. They do great.

Nice hotel on the beach

It is well positioned along Chewang beach.
There are a few annoying aspects about this hotel though.
Breakfast could be much better if the food brought out were hot. We brought the problem of cold food to the attention of the manager twice, but they just don't seem to get it that hot food shouldn't be left laying around cold. Lots of excuses, saying we were the only ones complaining and all that poor management stuff.
The other thing which is not their fault is the annoying deep base sound from nearby Ark bar which penetrates room walls and goes night and day.
We have been coming here once, sometimes twice a year.

This property is right on the beach on the main road of Chaweng Beach. It is very close to the airport (planes fly by really low a good number of times a day but its not that big of a deal). You can walk right out the front door and many options are handy (bars, restaurants, shops, etc) or walk right out on the beach in 1 minute. Staff is very friendly especially the front desk staff. They have a great breakfast from 7-11 ech day. Don't miss this. Be aware that when the weather is rainy, the ocean eats up the beach and its gone. When its nicer, you have a small well maintained beach. You can walk up and down the beach and sample any of the other resorts on this long white sand beach. From quiet to boom boom, its all there. Beds are the hard thai style that seems to be everywhere. Other than that, the rooms are fine. The nicer ones by the beach are much nicer for the money. Wifi is up and down like most of the resorts I have seen in the beach areas.

Overall experience is good because the staff is very helpful and friendly but there are far too many mosquitoes in the room itself. The bed is very hard, even by Asian standards and there is a strong stench in the room that couldn't be gotten rid of. The best part of the hotel is its proximity to all the restaurants, bars, clubs, shops and of cos the beach is right by the hotel.

Breakfast was included at the ocean front restaurant. It was an impressive buffet. Rooms were a bit worn but the bed was comfortable (let very firm). It was close to the big party at ArkBar but not in it. Short walk to the upscale Library hotel with very nice restaurants.

Overall great stay, staff, property. Would stay there again.

Lovely resort with a great location. Well maintained gardens and rooms. We were in a Deluxe Villa which had been renovated recently. Nice pool with many lounges both at the pool and on the beach. Nice breakfast with egg station. The resort was under the flight path of the nearby airport but there weren't many flights each day so it wasn't a problem - in fact we had fun watching the planes. A fantastic resort with good value for money.

The staff were all very kind and friendly with us.
We had a few small issues and the staff worked very hard to make sure we were happy and comfortable.
Overall I was very happy with Baan Chaweng and had a great experience there.

Quiet beach and busy street life: Have both!

The staff at the resort were friendly and efficient and the grounds are lovely and well maintained. Our bungalow was nicely furnished but with one minor flaw: there is no place to put gels and shampoos inside the shower stall. A very minor inconvenience in an otherwise clean, comfortable and quiet experience. The breakfast buffet was pleasant and the restaurant looks lovely at night! I would stay at Baan Chaweng Resort again and don't hesitate to recommend it to families, couples, singles or seniors.

Unfortunately Koh Samui itself is not well-managed and price gouging is rampant: especially with taxi drivers. A taxi from Sathorn to Don Muang in Bangkok is 400 baht,including toll road fees, for a one hour ride and the drivers in Samui were asking 500 for an 8 minute ride! Many of the seafood restaurants offer very poor quality food for too high prices. (Do not eat at Copacabana). Do your homework and find the independent (Thai-owned) businesses that still offer good value for money. There are not many left!

Samui is a lovely island but with so many beautiful beaches in Thailand and Vietnam, I'm not sure I would go back. I hope that the government takes charge and thinks about what \"sustainable\" tourism means.

Loveliest HOTEL on the strip.

Super ! Beautiful hotel on the strip. Nestled in Chaweng. Beach was great and clean. We had a girlie trip and felt safe and comfortable in the hotel. Great for families too. Will be coming back with the family for sure. Convenient as you walk out of the hotel for food and shopping. Love it all!

We enjoyed our stay so much that we extended it by another two weeks. We decided to stay the whole month here.

Central resort but far enough from noise

We had some issues with air conditioning that was quickly resolved they moved us to a better room with the best air con ever!! Only issue is koh samui is known for beautiful garden resorts which attracts too many mosquitos we bought our own insect killer. The mattress is very hard we asked for mattress topper and extra pillows which was no problem to them. Staff were so great lovely smiling people. If your unhappy about something i would definitely recommend to speak up and get the issue rectified. The pool is okay a little bit small but you have a nice beach to go in so no problem. You can hear the aeroplanes fly over the resort not really a bother to be honest. Ark bar is 2 resorts over so you cant hear the music from the party area. This resort is nice and central to everything in chaweng

Tired hotel which is overpriced

We paid extra for a better room and it was basic, dated and uncomfortable. The air con was awful and the wall were so thin that one night we had to call to complain about a couple arguing until 5am which kept us awake (we could literally hear every word and they were two rooms down). You can get nicer hotels for a cheaper price in the area.

The hotel was on the beach which was lovely and was in a great central location.

Good location on the beach however sea not very clean. Swimming pool is very small and too many trees stopping the sun.
Room was OK but overpriced.
WiFi was irritating as kept disconnecting

Stayed for 3 nights in a beach view villa. Suggesting they must have been refurbished quite recently as new modern tiles & bathroom fittings, flat screen TV, good quality bedding & good functioning fridge
I did ask for a mattress topper to make the bed alittle softer & it did the trick.

Excellent staff in front desk & house keeping but the worst breakfast ever.
Poor quality bread, pastries & fruit & on all 3 mornings there was not one dish being kept hot. Egg station staff could not even get an omelet or hard boiled egg right, really lets this great hotel down.
Wifi was spasmodic & frustrating but may have been due to poor weather.
Beautiful gardens well maintained & great location.

Perfect Setting

This was our last stop on our mini tour of Thailand, ended up coming to the hotel 2 nights early after being very disappointed with Koh Toa. Hotel staff were really helpful, and sorted our room so we didn't have to messing round switching rooms. Koh Samui does really tick all the boxes for a holiday destination and this hotel is in a great location.
You can have a perfect balance of chilli out, party time & doing activities.

Arrived two days early

Having decided to ditch Koh Tao early, Four of the group of eight of us decided to go to Koh Samui a couple of days early. Luckily they had spare rooms for us.

We were welcomed with open arms when we arrived (as we had been throughout our two week trip to Thailand). We explained the situation, and they then moved rooms around so that we did not have to move when our original booking was for.

We decided to eat at the hotel that night, as we were all tired. The setting on the beach was fantastic, and the food just as good. A little pricey, but it is a hotel after all.

Breakfast in the morning was fairly standard, but having it overlooking the beach made up for the basic breakfast.

The staff were excellent, and very helpful.

The only thing I will say, is that the beds were a little hard (and I like a firm mattress), and that I wish there had been some sort of mosquito repellent in the room, as they were everywhere (Max strength Jungle Formula did nothing).

Koh Samui is a fantastic place with lots to do. So if you are thinking about going, then this hotel is a must!

Lovely location

Perfect location for chaweng, beach it's beautiful outside the hotel and lovely rooms, really disappointed tho as we checked out at 5am in the morning and we had left our umbrella in the restaurant the night before and the hotel charged us 500 baht we had to pay otherwise we would of missed our flight, the umbrella was given to the staff to use as it had rained and they were collecting towels the guests had left outside if you read this Baan chaweng I would really like a refund as your staff have the umbrella thanks!!

Fantastic location

Perfect location, best part of beach, lovely swimming pool. Walking distance to shopping,restaurants, nightlife etc.
Staff very friendly, massage on beach really cheap and bar and restaurant very nice.
Only negative is planes fly directly over hotel, but after first day didn't bother me.

Peaceful, beautiful landscaping

After initial frustration checking in this was a lovely hotel. The room was roomy, hotel was clean and quiet, breakfast was sufficient and beach was fab! This hotel is located at the party end of Chaweng beach but it was far from being a party place. The setting is lovely!

I had stayed previously and the experience was still great. Staff are friendly. There were no issues, everything went well (as expected).

There are some beach clubs pumping out music at times which I could hear in my room. It really didn't bother me. But others may be more sensitive.

The Baan Chewang Beach Resort is in a great location close to everything, the Resort it self is right on the beach with beautiful gardens and paths all round the Resort. I would have no trouble recommending it to anyone who enjoys privacy as well as a great location.

Nice Hotel, Great Location, Lovely Staff.

The hotel is perfectly located on Chaweng beach. One one side, the restaurant steps down to the beach - meaning starlight dinner on the beach, moonlight cocktails and a short stroll back to the room afterwards. During the day, the hotel's spa offers massages on the beach - try the aloe vera gel massage if you spend too long in the sun!

The road frontage opens to the hub of Chaweng, just down from the clubs and stadium. This makes it super convenient, especially for the many cheap cocktails nearby!
Thanks to the hotel being offset from the road, the nightlife was barely a distant hum at night.

The staff were incredibly friendly, and the rooms were kept clean.
