Dear Expedia Customer Support,
I am writing regarding a recent stay booked through Expedia.
The room we received did not match the photo and description shown on your website. The image presented was a key factor in our booking decision, and the actual room was clearly different.
The hotel agreed to move us to a room that matched what was advertised, but required an additional payment of 2,000 THB per night. As we had already paid for the room as presented online, we had no reasonable alternative and paid an extra 8,000 THB for 4 nights.
The hotel manager advised me to contact Expedia directly, as the discrepancy relates to how the room was displayed on your platform.
As a loyal Expedia customer, I kindly request reimbursement of the additional 8,000 THB. I would appreciate your prompt review and resolution of this matter.

The breakfast is terrible. The service at restaurant was poor. Over two hours to eat dinner and that includes me having to leave table twice to get the waiters attention. The lobby staff was inconsistent and often rude. I would not recommend and will not return to this hotel.

The property was beautiful and we loved the beach and pool and everything. Breakfast was good. Not super elaborate. I wish they had a few more options. But overall I would stay here again.

Fabulous breakfast, walking distance to central Sumui, but far enough away to be peaceful and a whole beach to yourself without the crowds. Safe swimming, kayak or stand up paddle board. Staff, as with most Thai people were so friendly and helpful.

I stayed in an ocean front pool room and it was absolutely stunning.

We had the most wonderful stay. The rooms were beautifully appointed and maintained. The food was fantastic and the kitchen was very accommodating of my dietary needs. What really made our stay though was the staff. Everyone made us feel so welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. They were so patient and kind with our son.

I took off one star for location as the beach at this end isn’t quite as lovely as down the other end. It can be a little weedy and muddy at low tide as it’s in an inlet. We didn’t really swim at it. That said, I would happily stay at the Sala again. The pools, staff and food more than make up for it. It’s lovely and quiet compared to the other end of Chaweng Beach while still being walking distance to Central Samui.

We were given the most remote and isolated room in the hotel. They explained that it’s related to Xpedia, and this isn’t the first time it’s happened on our trip. I specifically requested a hotel with a private beach, and instead, I received a room that technically belongs to the hotel but is ‘in a different neighborhood.

Beautiful rooms with spectacular bathroom. Balcony looked over a courtyard and faced a wall which was disappointing. Had hoped for sea or pool view. Staff really lovely. Service a tad slow but think that’s just the way of life here. Lovely beach and pool area, if only we hadn’t had so much rain! I would definitely recommend and come back as overall it was lovely.

I stayed at another 5 star rated resort on the island before coming to here. The other one outshines this one in multiple ways. This one was a bit run down (wear and tear everywhere on the public grounds). For example one beach towel had gross blood stains on it. However the staff is very friendly and nice as all Thai people are on the island. The only great thing about the resort is the spa. Everything else was meh. Beach had seaweed. Pool area constantly had leaves in the pool and floor. Basically didn’t feel comfortable or as clean as the last place I did which had excellence in all categories.

I would look elsewhere..

Beautiful property that would've gotten my 5 if it were only for the luxuries and beauty! Private plunge pool water was cold to not be able to step in, pretty much wasted money there! Wall lizards in the rooms, on the cabinets, amidst my suitcase and in and around the coffee machine trays. The restaurant is ill equipped with knowledgeable or live counter staff. Gotta order and keep waiting endlessly until a wrong item is brought to the table followed by 3-4 different staff showing up to ask what was ordered. The egg counter person was clueless on a sunny side vs over easy!
The simplest of them all, the ‘forever’ English tea - watered down to a light pale color which too shows up only after finishing off everything else and a determination to keep waiting. We had veg special breakfast ordered upon checkin for every morning but they dropped the ball on that too on the last day. Never mind that as we managed with other vegetarian stuff around. Overall, a confusion and messy restaurant ‘The Tent’ by the beach with flies, ants and mosquitoes! Room service staff was great though and they took care of out needs. Will explore other places next time as lizards is the last thing I want in my suitcase heading back home!

If you’re looking for the perfect escape getaway, this hotel was perfect! We stayed for our honeymoon and booked a villa - the service, the room, the dining options & facilities were top notch. It has everything you need there or close by. When we felt like we needed a break from the hotel life, we easily walked into town (5 minutes) and tried local food & markets. Super convenient! The hotel also ran so many activities, themed nights to get guests involved which was fun and the staff were super attentive & so friendly. Side note, breakfast is the best! A must stay and we can’t wait to visit again.

We actually got transferred to the other Sala Choengmon due to construction noise. The whole experience was by far the best of the entire trip through Thailand. The rooms were beautiful, modern, clean, and very comfortable. The staff is very helpful and pleasant. I couldn’t recommend this place more!

We came to celebrate our honeymoon, the location of the hotel is in the area inside the center of Samui, magical with a beach and an amazing view. The room was relatively large with very maximum equipment, in my opinion a good hotel and justifies the high score it received, we took a room with a private pool and a view of the ocean and it was amazing!!! . Really enjoyed!! In conclusion: For those looking for a calm and peaceful place to spend their next vacation, the hotel definitely meets the needs

This is a stunning property! Garden Pool Villas are bright, clean, private and vastly spacious. You could easily spend your whole vacation time in this space. Staff are exceptional in every way. We had a brilliant stay at SALA, the hotel was really lovely - the design is stunning and smart, the restaurant on the beach is great with really delicious food. The staff are all great too. The pool was a big hit, and our daughter enjoyed the craft on option at kids club, although it is quite small. The location is perfect too, an easy walk into the hustle and bustle of Chaweng beach with restaurants, massage etc. But far enough away that its quiet. The beach is rocky out front but an easy walk or kayak to a sandbar and snorkelling. We would stay again.

Main pool needs to be cleaned, very dirty, hair, things floating in it and the sides of it very dirty. The beach front is not for swimming. It is rocky, shallow, dead coral, and lots of garbage floating in it. It is about a 45 min walk or 20 min grab to get to a nice beach. Garden pool is great. The entire garden area is much nicer.

The architecture of SALA Chaweng Beach is stunning. The rooms are gorgeous and the circular pool on the beach side is situated as a perfect compliment to the beach. There is a second pool on the garden side that was great for afternoon sun or for a more mellow layout. The nightly tea with the turndown service was also such a lovely touch.

This property is incredible! The pictures don’t do it justice. It is huge and the rooms are decorated beautifully. The pool attached to your room is unreal, the local beach is beautiful and there’s multiple big pools to choose from too. It is luxury all over! Just be mindful, the paths can get slippery when it rains and the accommodation is spread across a big property which crosses a road (they have security that stops traffic for you). If you’re unable to walk 5 min to the breakfast restaurant, suggest you ask for a room closer to the facilities. The serenity away from the hustle is awesome though! Far enough but close enough

The hotel is lovely. The service was appalling and it’s a shame that for the money you pay you don’t get the service. felt that every stage they want to make money off you. The airport is 10 mins away and I don’t understand why they can’t offer a free shuttle service. They use their own cars but still want to charge you THB1000 for a round trip or THB 600 per way. That’s beyond my understanding. For a 10 mins trip in Bangkok it averages about thb250 max ( at peak times ) . I don’t understand the charges. I also didn’t like the snails and slugs at the hotel. There were far too many to enjoy the hotel.

The hotel is not related to luxury, the photos of the architecture are not well maintained, the pool is dirty, the beach is polluted, there are sewage smells, the room is comfortable, well designed, but it is not cleaned very well.

My biggest disagreement is that it is not a luxury hotel, nor the services, the breakfast is somewhat monotonous, I highlight the bed is good.

The hotel is really nice and instagramable ! Breakfast has a wide range of varieties and tastes good! The room is very spacious and clean. The pool inside the room is nice as well. Yet, the air conditioning is a bit weak given that the room is so big !

We like to location of SALA as it is close to the main street and you are able to walk to other places and restaurants as many of the resort hotels are not easily accessible. Hotel staff gave good restaurant recommendations too !
