the units were rather tightly packed, with one unit over another and little spac between buildings.
The birds can be annoying during dawn, if you are light sleeper.
The dinning room was understaffed during lunch service.
the soup was very salty. the \"limo\" ride from the airport were overpriced.

As returning customers, we arrived with high expectations — and once again, Anantara Lawana Koh Samui exceeded every single one. The resort is absolutely magical. The atmosphere is calm and beautifully maintained, and from the moment we stepped in, we felt welcomed and cared for.

The staff, from management onward, are truly outstanding. They are professional, attentive, and genuinely warm. Every request was handled with ease and a friendly attitude, which made our stay feel effortless and enjoyable. Their dedication and hospitality are a big part of what makes this resort so special.

Our Stay at Anantara Lawana was by far the best we had in our life ! We have been before to 5 stars hotels and resorts but nothing can compare to our stay here. The room was so clean and they even can make it up twice a day. Breakfast buffet was the best we ever had ! It includes a la carte items, all kinds of hot food, cold food and pastries, real juices and a barista style coffee ( not these automatic machines). The resort had an amazing private beach, pool and good restaurants. Finally i leave the best for the last. Anantara Team was impeccable, so polite, kind and loving ! Even provided us with farewell gifts. I definitely recommend everyone to stay there.

We had an incredible experience with Anantara. From the cleanliness of the room, to the kidness of the staff (including a free upgrade to the pool villa room) we really enjoyed our stay. As a vegetarian, I was slightly nervous about the breakfast options, but there was so much available to us and the staff was really accompdating and let me know what else they could give us. If you dont mind walking, it is a 20min walk to Chaweng beach and night market which is also beautiful. I would reccomend it to those that want to have a perfect stay, not living in the hustle and bustle, but close enough that you can walk there/take a tuk tuk if needed.

We LOVED our stay here for our little family. We were thankfully upgraded thanks to our gold status on the VIP program. We got a pool villa with a swing which the kids LOVED.

The customer service is 100% the highlight of this resort, wow everyone was so friendly, checking in on our activities. I am not sure if this is a usual Anatara thing, or a Thai service thing but we definetly want to check out future Anatara properties.

We stayed at the Anantara in April this year and it was one of the most incredible stays we have ever had. The property itself is gorgeous (literally a slice of paradise) but what made it most special were the staff that worked in the hotel. From remembering your favourites at breakfast to helping you round the pool they really made you feel special. The client facing staff (Puyfaii, Khai, Ton, Irene, Pop etc.) were so lovely and made us feel at home but I know there were many non-client facing staff in the background making the experience fantastic. The food at the hotel was also extremely good. Typically we wouldn't tend to eat in hotels but this holiday was an exception and we found ourselves eating in the hotel more often than not. We ate at all of the hotels restaurants including cocktails at the Singing Bird Lounge & the Tree Tops experience (our waitress was fantastic) which we would highly recommend. The hotel is well located as well making it possible to go on tours/ experiences across the island. We did have a pool suite which we would highly recommend (especially in peak season) as sometimes it was difficult to get a sunbed round the main pool but hopefully we haven't left you in any doubt you should stay here!

Great property what you see in the pictures is what you get. I booked private villa and it was exactly as in the pictures. The pool was reasonable sized, some other villas seem to have bigger pool too.

Great service too. Despite the villas being a bit secluded the in-room dining was quite prompt. Overall we got the relaxing holiday we wanted.

I had an amazing stay at Anantara Lawana in a Pool Villa Suite — the perfect mix of luxury and privacy. The villa was beautifully designed, with a serene private pool and elegant Thai touches throughout. Staff were incredibly warm and attentive, and the service was excellent from start to finish. The resort’s beachfront location is stunning, and breakfast with an ocean view was a daily highlight. Ideal for a relaxing, high-end getaway in Koh Samui. I’ll definitely be back!

The staff were excellent and made the experience:) The Thai food was good and so were the seafood options. However, the in room dining experience was not as good. The spa was overpriced and the service was not up to mark - massage was mediocre and so was the facility. The garden view suite was dark and dingy. Bathtub was not usable (made of stone, with stains) and it gets noisy at night. Otherwise, the basic amenities were present. The property can do with some refurbishment as it has the potential to be so much better. Ultimately, the experience was still pleasant overall.

Amazing resort! We had a beautiful pool access villa. The rooms are amazing and the pools are amazing. Staff here is excellent! Only cons are there are a lot of mosquitos and the seals on the doors aren't great so when they come to clean your room, alot of mosquitos get inside the room. The shower is also outside so you can get bit my mosquitos while showering. Drinks and food are fairly expensive and not enough pool chairs / beach chairs. The property itself is stunning though and very convenient.

Loved my stay at this hotel during my honeymoon! It was the perfect place to relaxing after visiting all the busy cities in Thailand. Our room had private pool and included breakfast buffet. This hotel had all the amenities, I wish I could stay longer. The pool area and private beach was beautiful. Staff were always attentive. Hotel provided golf cart to get around the property. This is a beautiful resort with well maintained grounds. I love all the foilages and the little detail Lilly pads.
The staffs are all amazingly attentive, friendly and would go out of there way to accommodate.
The morning breakfast that was included is nothing but 5 stars, everday was something different.
The resort offer a few water activities that was also included in my stay.
This was by far one of my best tavel, I shall return!

The Tree Tops restaurant was so overrated and overpriced. I have never been so bored having a meal spread out over 2 hours 20 minutes. The hotel is not friendly for elderly or disabled clients. There are so many trip hazards getting into your room or moving around the onsite restaurants.

The delightful sound of a gong marked the start of a spectacular luxurious stay at Anantara Reception service was impeccable, with everyone going the extra mile to personalise my experience suit my needs.

My king sized bedroom with plunge pool was spacious. Comfortable bed with air conditioning was welcoming. especially love the pool - perfect for private relaxing swims. Breakfast was a rich tapestry of cuisines with fresh seafood, fruits, and thai noodles, among others offering any dietary requirements.
Locally sourced coffee was great too.

Indulged in the 5-day wellness package which transformed those days into a healthy blend of exhilarating Muay Thai, serene yoga & pilates sessions, and blissful massages. Thanks Krun and Mr Boom. 🙏 Spa service was accommodating and friendly.

We booked Anantara Lewana for our honeymoon. Since the moment we arrived, we didn't want for anything. The pool suite was incredible, the breakfast was delicious and catered for everyone. All the staff were so kind and attentive and the pool gents were always there before you even realised you needed them. We could not fault our stay. There were so many little gestures, like a honeymoon reception with cake and swan towels, valentines chocolates which were delicious and a special cake when we dined at Tree Tops. A good location just a few min outside of Central Samui where all the shopping and restaurants are. Taxi's come by often so finding a ride is really convenient. The customer service is excellent and the private beach and pool are big enough to be comfortable in your own resort.

Incredible service for our honeymoon

We arrived at Anantara Lawana after a stressful day of travelling, and within two minutes the stress had completely melted away! The service was impeccable from the minute we arrived, all of the staff were so polite and they couldn't do enough for us. Our room was stunning (we stayed in one of the pool suites) and the facilities were excellent. The food was delicious - if you're visiting for a special occasion I would highly recommend dining in Treetops restaurant - incredible food in the most beautiful setting. A visit to the spa is also a must. Don't hesitate to book this hotel!

Our stay at the Anantara, Chewang was fabulous, and the Staff went out of their way to help you in anyway. The rooms were immaculate, and well apportioned, and like the rest of the resort, well kept, albeit starting to show wear and tear. Breakfast was well organised, and on the better end of the scale for this type of resort - good choice of western and orientalist cooked foods, fresh pastries, great selection of fruit and continental choices. Restaurant style and food was exemplary and the Treetops restaurant was out of this world, but pricey. Overall, I would definitely visit again, as the Anantara delivered on all of its promises

On the downside, Indian food is not on the menu for lunch and dinner. Hopefully with more indian tourists returning back to Phuket, they can expand the menu.

Due to the orientation of the room we didn't get much sun, but when it was so hot this wasn't a problem. The tree top restaurant served fantastic food. The service at the whole hotel was superb.

This is a truly delightful hotel with friendly attentive staff.
The rooms are very spacious, clean, with the most comfortable beds.
It is set on a slight hill by the bay so there is a incline on all pathways but the hotel operate a golf buggy service which can take you anywhere on the resort if walking in the heat is too much.

Anantara Lawana: Above and Beyond

Fantastic Koh Samui resort. We stayed in a gorgeous pool villa perched above Chaweng Beach and the normally aquamarine waters of the Gulf of Siam. I say “normally” because we suffered through a monsoon for the first few nights of our stay and the offshore churn and cloud cover left the waters grayish. But not to despair, the staff was fantastic and the room romantic and we enjoyed wonderful room service meals.

For the final night of our stay we were able to enjoy a spectacular meal in a fairy tale setting in the resort’s Tree Top restaurant. Nestled amongst the branches of a huge banyan tree, the restaurant’s eight platforms provide great intimacy and romance to enhance the culinary delights offered by the great chef and his seasoned staff.

I want to single out our room liaison, Pim. She and the rest of the staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a pleasant stay despite the stormy weather and the inevitable constrictions imposed by Covid pandemic protocols.

I highly recommend the Anantara Lawana. It is strategically positioned and exceptionally well run and managed.

Terrific private pools in plunge pool rooms and villas. Very good breakfast. Tree Tops restaurant is spectacular. Other dining options were not as exciting. Overall a very nice experience and close enough to the \"action\" that you don't need to stay at the resort 24/7. Even during COVID 19 Pandemic, the staff were extremely warm and welcoming - they tried to make guests feel as \"normal\" as possible, while still implementing extra hygiene/cleanliness precautions. A slightly longer Happy Hour would be a great addition!

We stayed for 5 nights. It is a very comfortable hotel with friendly staff & very good restaurants. Our room was very nice.
The only downside was the pool area was rather busy. It is unfortunate many guests (even at a 5* hotel) reserve beds with towels, even when they disappear for a considerable time for other activities.

Positives: We had the plunge pool room which was excellent layout and it was very private. This hotel offered the best breakfast our of all hotel we have stayed in. Excellent staff.

Negatives are: Checkin was slow and disorganised. I have raised this with the hotel already and the issue was address promptly. There are a lot of mosquitos around the plunge pool room.

Overall we would recommend this hotel and return.

upon arrival no one was outside to help, but then a gentleman helped me bring my stuff inside ... after arrival a lady who I was communicating with prior to arrival she failed to tell me the elevator was broken but was adamant about taxi service then... she was rude and I asked to speak to the supervisor who never came to talk to me because she was too busy... I decided to stay at the hotel because i am hurt and they upgraded me... the bath tub wasn’t that clean I had to clean it before using... the location is great... but no wonder why they haven’t gotten an award in two years because they are lacking the simplicity of love and care they were wanted me to give energy to the accident I had 10 days prior... instead of concentrating what the guest needs and why people stay at 5 star places... this is really a 3 star hotel.

Great location on the beach.

Location is great, but rooms need to be refurbished.
Doors are out of order and noisy. Shower head are broken, house keeping is poor, response is slow, check in and out very slow , restaurant are not value for money, but all in all the location covers for all defaults.

Best hotel in Koh Samui

This hotel was amazing! I had been to Koh Samui before but staying at this gorgeous hotel made my stay so much better. The hotel is beautiful, rooms really well appointed. The service is out of this world. Best breakfast buffet I have ever seen. Their restaurant Tree Tops is outstanding. I didn't want to leave. One of the best hotels I have ever stayed at.

Me and my husband stayed at Anantara for our honeymoon. The staff was extraordinary as they paid very close attention to detail when dealing with us. The room with private plunge pool was perfect for us. The breakfast spread was very big and the food was so delicious! We visited the Tree Top Restaurant for a remarkable multiple coursed meal. Our room's AC stopped working on our last night, the hotel staff was quick to send someone to take a look. They were unable to fix the issue and upgraded us to a beautiful and larger suite with a big pool! We were appreciated of their generosity. We would definitely recommend this resort and consider staying at their other locations as well.

The hotel is Very well maintain, the staff are great and give you a intimate feeling even it is a huge resort.

The room we received was the last one in the resort, far far away from the beach and pool. I tried my best to change the room even by upgrade the room type with no luck.

The room we were given was next to the maintenance building by the road. We had booked the “garden view” room and there was no garden view. A trainee had shown us to the room and I had said I wasn’t happy with it and wanted to change. Not sure if she understood me. After waiting 30 minutes or so I went to the front desk and the duty manager arranged another room. Rooms are nice. Water pressure for bath was good but the shower was not. Also the water was turned off for repairs on one of the mornings- assuming it was unscheduled repair as no prior warning. They did leave a dessert in our room to say sorry for the inconvenience. Not sure how Long it had been sitting there as we were out all afternoon and back later that night. Happy hour is good and breakfast is good. Food very expensive at the hotel so we walked to other restaurants further down the beach. Nice pool and lovely beach but be careful of sea urchins in the water.

Staff was great and the room was lovely. However our room had termites in it so we had to switch rooms. The resort did send a bottle of wine for the inconvenience, but I’ve stayed at other resorts that offer an upgrade for less.
