Staff not around at all wasn’t welcomed properly at all. Showers moldy room had bad smell and air conditioning kept turning on and off. Was very dissatisfied and dissappointed

These rooms are incredible- 4 star feel for 2 star price- the pool was cool and refreshing, but there was no shade so it was hard to stay in too long. Must rent a motorbike or get rides in this area though. There is no convenience store close by but it is a nice retreat if you arent looking to be in the main area. The resort across the street ( I believe a Hyatt) let us use their beach one day though. We rented a motorbike to see the island which the hotel helped us with. It was a big change after staying near Lamai beach ( the best area and very walkable)- this is closer to chaweng beach (15 min drive) which was the second best. The restaurant food is delicious so that was great to have at hand- they close at 6pm so we ordered early for later if we were staying in for dinner. This room was so comfortable and luxurious and every room has a great pool view, we had pool access which was so nice if it got too hot.

We loved our stay here! The staff were extremely friendly and the place had a real community, hospitality feel. We got here right after Thailand opened up again after Covid, and the hotel had been closed for two years. Because of this, there were some slight cosmetic things that they need to fix, but this didn’t affect our stay at all and I’m sure within the next couple months those things will be upgraded. They helped us rent a scooter for 200BhT a day and answered any questions we had. The room is a great space. Bed was quite firm. Pool was wonderful. Random note: this property is like five minutes from the airport. An employee told us it should’ve costed 50bht for a taxi to take us to this hotel. They wanted to charge us 500bht for this ride, but we negotiated to 350bht. If you’re coming here via air, I would ask the hotel to arrange a pick up, it will probably be much cheaper.

Hotel with a view and a great pool.

Spent two very comfortable nights at this hotel. We had an ocean view room which had a fantastic view. The room was very clean with a great comfy bed. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty. We also ate dinners in the restaurant with tasty and well priced meals. The pool was also fab and refreshing after a hot day site seeing or shopping. The hotel staff are very helpful and English speaking- we had a leaky aircon which was fixed that day, and also booked s wonderful trip with them. The only down side for us was there were no shops near this hotel though Chaweng was a 5 minute taxi ride away. We would fully recommend this hotel.

Dangerous and depressing

(+) The room is large and spacious. The breakfast is surprisingly good. The staff is super friendly.
(-) Everything was built with wood and it's rotting--including the safety railings on the third floor. We were concerned for the safety of our 2 year old because they looked sturdy but were no longer attached on multiple points due to rot. The windows in the stairwells are being held together with wire and the window panes are falling out of the wood casings. The pool was full of scum, but it looked like they were getting the pump fixed... The linens are washed onsite in brackish water and stink. The beds and pillows aren't aired out and stink! The beds and pillows are also uncomfortable.
We booked 7 days, but left after 4 and forfeited our prepaid nights because we just couldn't take it any longer :( They we're kind enough to pay for our taxi to the new hotel.

Happy but Disappointed

The Maryoo Hotel, needs a lot of up dating, the rooms need repairs, even though they are spacious, the stairwell's need windows replacing, the decking round the pool needs replacing, constantly breaking under your feet.

The pool lounges were wooden, but had no cushions or umbrellas, even the main picture on the hoarding at the hotel, clearly shows them to have the same, when we asked the staff, they stated they were not fit for purposes. which was a shame really as the pool is great.

The steam room wasn't available, under repair.

The great thing about this hotel is the STAFF, they could not do enough for you, they were all hard workers and very friendly towards our large party, nothing was too much trouble, must say the food standard was very good.

Just a real shame the owners don't spend a few thousand on this establishment and sort the repairs out, if they did, I would recommend it to friends / family, and would return myself, but only on this proviso.

Awesome Hotel an perfect for your stay.

I've stayed in Koh Samui 6 times now an have stayed at Maryoo 5 of those times. The Hotel is perfect for me, clean, close to Chaweng, and the staff are awesome, helpful an very welcoming..
Maryoo may not have the 6 star rating of some of the flashy resorts around but to me I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else.
I look forward to going back to Samui soon an will definitely be staying at the Maryoo again :)

Quiet and peaceful location, kind and helpful staff. 10-15mins to the samui airport and chaweng beach. Really love their pad Thai too! Very big and spacious room. Opening ur eyes everyday to ocean view is just magnificent. Recommended!

Nice hotel close to airport and Big Buddha.

Upon arrival, the staff was very, very welcoming. The staff was very accommodating in setting up transfers and helping with forming our schedule to be as efficient as possible since we had limited time. The staff was also very proficient in English and fully understood our situation where 1 person out of 7 did not make the trip and we were going to use travel insurance to cover the 3rd room (versus the other 6 hotels we stayed throughout our trip in Thailand had always inquired about why the 7th person did not arrive, why we are not using the 3rd room, why not use it because it was already paid for, endless questions and still did not understand concept of travel insurance after explaining, etc.) So when we found a place that fully understood, it was really nice and made check in very easy!

Great Hotel for the price

Feels a bit worn down but would stay again. I liked that the rooms were very spacious. But certain parts of the room looked like they were pretty worn out from lots of use. You have to take a cab to go to and from the hotel but I did not find it a problem as the cabs were still cheap to get to town. And the hotel staff would always call a cab for pickup if we were heading out.

For the price I would definitely stay again.

Strange place....

Stange place.... very, very clean but very, very run down. Nice big rooms, a nice pool, but everything so old. Looks like the owner hasn't spent one baht in renovations in 20 years. The staff are making due with next to nothing... Also nothing near by. Have to drive to dinner.

Did not know what I was expecting for, after booking a 'suite'. From the moment we arrive to the hotel and depart, the most ecstatic thing we always will remember is the Service Staff, led by the manager - Job. He and his crew are always attentive to all the guests' needs, everyready to hand out a helping hand. Bravo to him and his crew.

The room was nice, as mentioned Ocean View. But the interior was a slight turn off with one side of the wall showing the paints cracking away. One corner of the floor with the wiring trunks pasted with some heavy-duty scotch tapes...

Apart from the above, my stay in Maryoo is something I will remember by and if the opportunity allows, I will still return to Maryoo for my next holiday. Been promoting my stay in Koh Samui to my friends and their stay should be in, Maryoo.

Needless to ask.

Very poor location

The hotel is far way from everything. When we booked it, we liked the pic of the ocean view suite, which in fact is only a normal room. The closest beach is at least 30 to 40 min walk. The hotel is not by the sea, it's across the street, and you cannot swim in the beach across the street because it only rocks. There are no shops or restaurants nearby, and the hotel does not offer transportation to the beach. The ocean view suite shoul be labeled 'Street view'. I have uploaded a pic of the actual view of the ocean view suite.

The hotel is far from town which is a good thing in a way. When you do stay here don't be afraid to hire motorbikes. It's the cheapest and easiest way to get around the island and into town. The staff was great considering they had their hands full with all of us. Very friendly and helpful.

We arrived in Koh Samui by ferry from Donesak. This drops you at Nathon Pier, which is on the other side of the island. Taxi transfer to the hotel was extremely cheap. 150bht, this took about an hour, but it was evening traffic time.
Hotel staff were very sweet from the moment we arrived. Always interacting with us with a smile.
Small water welcome drink and then to our room, which was the size of our first apartment in the UK!
Wifi was a little intermittent/drops off,however the staff were always happy to reset and then it worked fine.
Bottled water in the room everyday. Turn your privacy door dangle the other way to have your room made up.
Breakfast was from 730-1030. Although the same offering everyday, it was enough to get you started. Strong coffee. Bread, eggs,Thai food, watermelon, pineapple.
Room service was ok. Nothing special.
Pool is quite deep and long. There isn't much shade near the pool, so early morning or later in the afternoon to catch the building shade. Can get a little buggy.
We travelling around the entire island on a scooter. You can get one from reception for 250bht a day. It's about 15mins to Chaweng Beach.

Nice hotel, it is budget, nothing fancy.

If you are tight with your money, you should definitely consider staying at this hotel, it has all you need, clean rooms, shower, bed, for a very good price. It is located between Chaweng beach and Chiang Muang beach, which are the 2 main beaches in Koh Samui.

Beautiful hotel with some flaws

It is almost perfect as the room is spacious, comfortable bed, helpful staffs. However the bathroom disappointed me. It seems like the cleaner didn't clean the basin and drain as there is stain. The towels are torn and there is stain too.
The breakfast isn't buffet style, but choose one from the menu, western or thai breakfast. For the western breakfast, the difference is the way to cook the eggs. The portion is more than enough for me as a female.
The phone was not working when I visited, so if you need anything from reception, you gotta walk out from your room. There are three levels, so don't expect lift.
The beach isn't right in front of the hotel. You gotta take taxi/tuk tuk/bike to go to chaweng beach.
Its location is quiet, so not much choices on food/drink.

Convenient and well priced hotel

We stayed here over New Years for the Countdown party on Koh Phangan. We found the price for the hotel to be very reasonable for what you get. The location of the hotel was great, a short taxi or scooter ride into Chaweng. The staff lacked efficient english skills, however we managed. The rooms are spacious and the balcony provides a good view of the pool. Our room was cleaned daily, however we did catch the maids taking a break in one room and one left their soda in our fridge only to return to get it when we were in the room. Personally, we didn't mind the casual nature of the cleaning staff as none of our personal belongings were taken or touched. Our only complaints about the hotel are that the breakfast is extremely lacking. Every day they served the same breakfast buffet, all of which was pre cooked then sat in steel pans or plates with lids. So most of the time the hot food went cold, unless you were there when they put a fresh batch out. There is no continental option besides some fruit and toast with only butter or jam to serve (no cereal or muesli). This was our biggest disappointment as when a hotel states they provide a breakfast buffet you expect it to be hot and fresh. Another thing we found a hassle was that the rooms don't have an iron/board, if you want this you have to borrow it from the maids. Which meant you could be waiting awhile or never get to use it if they are doing laundry. All in all, a fair price for what you get.

Excellent deal on this beautiful hotel!

I booked this hotel the morning of the beginning of my stay. When I got to the hotel, they did not have the room I booked with my reservation for the initial night; however, the manager handled it very well and upgraded me to an ocean view room for that first night. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant had great food, although they tended to run out of things here and there. The rooms were beautiful and extremely clean with comfortable beds. There was an issue with the internet/wifi in the rooms while I was there, but it got fixed within a few days (which is good for Thailand) and there was always wifi in the lobby that could be used. The pool is gorgeous and gets direct sun for a large portion of the day. There was a small secluded beach a few minutes walk up the road. The location isn't necessarily ideal if you are looking to be in the heart of Chaweng Beach. It is a few miles north and more secluded, but it is very easy to get to Chaweng by cab, and the staff were always helpful in calling a cab. Also, there is a motorbike company just next door that allows you to rent a bike without having to leave your passport as a deposit if you stay at Maryoo. Overall, I was extremely satisfied with the hotel and staff!

Staff does not speak english. Towels are old and torn. Hotels atmosphere are rather dull. Breakfast are adequate and basic.
For the price that you are paying for you cant complaint much. Overall a good deal.

Second time staying here. For the money, it's difficult to beat! Great rooms, HUGE comfortable beds and nice shower and pool. Only downside is location - a bit further out but you've got a moped for a reason right? I'd stay again.

Beautiful resort with exceptional customer service, we booked the basic room and mentioned it was for our honeymoon so they put us in the ocean view room on the top floor for no extra charge. the most comfortable beds ever! only issue you have to get a taxi or use the scooters to get to a close by shop or beach etc..
