Great stay at Nora Buri for our anniversary, we had our own pool with ocean view and it was great. Ammenities are great . The staff are very friendly and helpful would highly recommend a stay there. Location is great also not to far to Chaweng beach which is more peaceful then being right in hustle and bustle of that area .

We had an amazing two night stay! We were so fortunate to receive an upgrade that provided a private pool. The room was very clean and spacious. In this case, we want to recognize Nang for her assistance checking in and arranging for a special room for us. This is our third time staying at the Nora Buri Resort. The breakfast was wonderful. Sun was so helpful during checkout. All around we were delighted and were sorry that we hadn’t booked a longer stay!

Stayed here for a week - the resort was quite challenging to get around with a baby and pram etc. The beach pool and restaurant needs some serious TLC and the food served at the restaurant by the beach pool wasn't nice.

Breakfast spread is excellent and housekeeping were excellent at keeping bedroom clean etc.

Not a bad resort but would need a car/taxi/moped to get around and it isn't a great resort for kids

The room had a magnificent ocean view, but for a 5-star resort, the breakfast did not offer a wide variety of food. The pool closes at 6 o'clock. It is far from the city centre and does not offer a free shuttle to the city.

The hotel is divided by a very busy road, if one wants to go to the \"beach\", needs to go across a busy road or a tunnel from one side to the other side, inconvenient. The \"beach\" a rough seaside with rocks, can't swim nor walk around

One can see electric cables at the breakfast area. Breakfast is low standard. eg: stale old bread!

Rooms is big, dark and very dull, the view for a deluxe room is a building right in front. The hotel is built on a steep hill, not for elderly or kids. Even with buggy, inconvenient

Called Housekeeping, Duty Manager, Operator and Room Service one day around 5 pm for about 20 minutes, no answer.

FOOD POSION! My husband and an other member of the family got food poison in their \"Grill\" the evening before we returned to HKG. They both had a lukewarm cream soup, and started to have serious diarrhea and vomit, I mean SERIOUS! My husband visited the bathroom 6 times within 4 hours! We booked the car to leave at 9:15 am, we complained to the Duty Manager, nothing he can do or suggested. We have no choice but to leave, my husband had to be wheelchair to the aircraft. Upon return to HKG, I wrote to the GM/F&B, I am surprised the Front Office Manager replied to me. They did not admitted the mistake, serving lukewarm cream soup, stale breads from the breakfast buffet counter, old mushroom sauce. They just brushed me over.
We also tried the Thai restaurant, don't waste time!
All in all, disappointed and do NOT recommend this place

Absolutely the best hotel I have ever stayed in. The staff go above and beyond to welcome you- nothing is any problem and they are all so friendly. The rooms are spotless and the views from the room are fabulous!
I would highly recommend a stay at Nora Buri Resort and Spa. I will definitely be back.

Great if you can afford the beach side

It’s a great resort if you can afford the beach side. I went through Hotels.com, then decided to upgrade after it was too late. It cost me. I paid more than anyone in my group.
But if you’re a couple - the beach side villas with the plunge pool is top notch

Rooms are outdated and needs a massive revamp!

Absolutely beautiful hotel. Nothing quite compares to having your swimming pool outside your door. The room was fantastic, and the service was outstanding.

Ocean currents have removed most of the sand on the hotel's small beach. If you want a beach experience, you'll have to travel south to Chaweng or Lamai beach. Overall, I would certainly recommend this hotel.

Fabulous hotel with amazing staff who were welcoming and efficient! Our hotel room was up in the mountain and had a stunningly breathtaking view and excellent transportation through the villa. The infinity pools were well kept, beautifully located and had a swim up bar. The location was close to the action. I would highly recommend this location and can’t wait to go back!

We had a wonderful stay here. The resort is beautiful and a short taxi ride from the busy Chaweng strip. It was very easy to get into town but we enjoyed the quiet comforts of the resort. The staff were friendly and welcoming and made us feel at home. Would definitely come back here again!

This resort was a let down, it was build on the side of a steep mountain, you need to get a golf cart to take you to your room. Our rooms where located all the way at the top, the garden was a mess weeds around, electrical wires hanging out, old rusty air conditioners sitting on the side walk. The room smelled like mold, was outdated, to operate the lights you had to use some kind of chinese control panel system next to the bed which looked like it was make in 1980. Breakfast was ok, it felt like a Carnival cruise line buffet, crowded, you have to wait in queue to order eggs. The location is strange theres a tunnel you need to go under to get to the beach, which is covered in garbage, with all 300 employees none of them can clean the beach. The hotel appears to be built for chinese mega tourists but ended up being rented by normal travellers, and its a mess. You have to ride a \"Taxi\" to get anywhere. Staff at front desk wasnt helpful, nobody to help carry your bags. I dont suggest this place unless you are on a tight budget and even then go stay near the real beach.

We stayed for 7 nights at the Nora Buri. It was our second visit. The views are stunning. Breakfasts are amazing as are the staff. Two cautions - many, many steps and costly to take daily taxi to Chaweng Centre. Resort should provide shuttle service.

The resort is beautiful. We wake up to our villa pool, sunrise view and seaview every morning, it was so wonderful. Staffs are super friendly. The hotel breakfast was great also. I don't really think the beach accessed from the hotel is somewhere you can really swim to? The wave was pretty strong and there's lots of garbage washed up ashore. Aside from that, great stay, definitely a hotel to return to.

Loved the hillside private pool villa. Loved no pool fencing and those late night cool dips before sleeping. Loved the sound of crickets and frogs while it rained and thunderstormed. Loved the view from the bed. Loved the buggy transport up n down the hillside...at night and when a little tipsy the ride home feels like a jurrasic park tour. The gardens are well cared for and look beautiful at night. Only thing that lacked...was the privacy of the actual villa. Always on display...pool, toilet, shower, balcony and bedroom. Service and friendliness of staff was impeccable. Room service food was pretty damn good too. We stayed 9 days, thankyou nora burri

Great view from room. Nice pools. Not possible to swim at the beach, too rocky and strong waves. You will need to go to other beach.

Organization not so good with staff. Quite a few staff but still none at cart station at beach (steep slope to go up to room, and difficult with baby). Staff forget to bring coffee, and laundry forgotten until reminded night before departure etc.

Good Thai food at restaurant and great seaside view. Overall was very positive, nice and relaxed vacation.

The property looks good in the photos. The rooms are spacious and if you get an ocean view it’s way better. How ever it is very tired and dated. Could do with a re vamp. Beds are hard and showers a little hit and miss. Don’t be fooled it’s on a big hill and a long walk up and down with lots of steep steps. If you want flat you need to book the expensive beach front rooms. There are buggies but if your in a hurry... the internet was terrible intermittent. The breakfast was good and overall the staff were lovely. Close to Chaweng Beach so that was good. Beach front not really a bit misleading. Only a small beach. Staff were great but Unfortunately it was highly rated but under delivered.

Fantastic staff and hotel

We stayed nine nights at the Nora Buri hotel in Koh Samui. We couldn’t be more delighted by the friendly and attentive service we received as well as the brilliant facilities in the hotel. Two fantastic pools with bars that provided regular happy hours were complemented by numerous other bars and restaurants providing wonderful food and drink and all served with a warm smile. Of particular note was the Rice Barge restaurant practically on the beach serving wonderful Thai food at an affordable cost and with fantastic views along the coast. Add to this the live music that was played each night and the beautiful warm temperatures into the evening and, all in all, our stay at the Nora Buri hotel was amazing. The staff even give you lifts around the resort on golf buggies, which are a huge amount of fun! We cannot recommend the hotel and its staff highly enough.

The pools and restaurants were lovely and we are delicious authentic Thai food in the rice barge restaurant. Staff were friendly. Spa was lovely but quite expensive for a massage. We had the private pool villa and it was very nice but just felt a little bit run down and needs a general makeover to make it more modern and live up to the 5 star luxury feel. Very steep climb up to your room if it’s on the hillside.

Great pool. Staff although helpful are not clear on value pack terms. I requested a value pack at start of stay and was informed on checkout that the pack had to be prepaid. Very dissatisfied that this was not relayed correctly. We spent over 20000 baht and was disappointing that management didn’t show any goodwill despite their miscommunication.

Location was good for a quiet escape.
Check-in was straight forward. Since our room was on the hillside, the buggy service really helped a lot.

Upon entering the room, we were so happy to see it as advertised. Altough the pillow covers weren't ready but housekeeping took care of it fairly quickly.

Breakfast selection was good and had an option to eat in the air-conditioned area or outside.

The only suggestion I would make is having more frequent shuttle service to Chaweng beach because there's no other things to do at the property itself.

I would recommend this to others if you're looking for a quiet place to relax.

Great place for a couples or family trip. Great pools and nice rooms. Away from the business of Chaweng Beach so it's nice a quiet, but if you want to venture into town it's about a 5-10 min drive. The restaurants on site are tasty and affordable. The beach is rocky and not good for swimming so expect to spend your time in the pool or making a 10-15 min walk down the beach to where it's Sandy and you can actually swim. Overall would recommend.

Our stay at Nora Buri was nothing short of excellent, the staff are very respectful and warm. Jasmine in the lobby took incredible care of all our wishes, she is a beautiful gem. The food was again perfect, world class food. I have extremely picky taste and everything I ate or drank was at another level! From the greeting with a cold drink and cool cloth upon arriving to our departure which we kept extending as we just couldn’t leave we were so happy we chose Nora Buri to spend our 25th Anniversary. I suppose my only criticism would be my personal taste in mattress, maybe I just prefer a softer one as they were a bit too firm for me, beyond that I can’t rave enough!!!

We got one of the private pool villas. This was right around when the big storm happened, but I don't think the role was very well sealed as I got bit quite a bit in my sleep by mosquitoes despite having the doors closed at all times. If there hadn't been mosquitoes, the room would've been great. The resort has a shuttle to the main town and deals on taxis and scooters, so that is convenient. Everything at the resort is overpriced, so we ended up going to town more often for food and whatnot, but we did enjoy the private pool and the view and made the most of that too.

Pictures are not what they seem, never again

Firstly I’d like to say that my partner and I have bought this stay in advanced months before our trip and was non refundable. We were a little naive in believing the beautiful pictures represented on the website, to our surprise the resort was not as we envisioned. Firstly it doesn’t make it clear enough that he resort is divided by one of the main / busiest roads in Koh Samui. To get to the beach we had to walk extensively as our bedroom was one of the Garden View Villas, 60m above sea level. You can only get around the resort with a buggy service unless, like us we walked uphill everyday to get a taste of our daily exercise routine. The food is beyond acceptable, both restaurants do not cater for vegans or people with severe allergies so finding something palatable is a struggle.
The hotel forgot to mention that the main pool area was undergoing renovations, so just a limited area was accessible for guests. Also, They advertised ‘adults only’ whilst full of children everywhere.
The ‘white sandy beach’ they portrayed on the website is not even close to what a fine white sandy beach looks like, more like stone rock.
Also, we stayed during the Pabuk storm and very little info was shared during the alerts No first aid kit supplied, no additional water or candles in case of blackouts nor advised what safety precautions to take in case of severe evacuation process.
We spent all of our holiday in another resort that catered to our needs.

Not for older people or disabilities they do have golf carts you can call. Beach not good water rough, have to take a cart through tunnel under highway to get there. The breakfast buffet is excellent, other restaurants good food. The staff are super, friendly, helpful and so polite. Front desk speak good English and very good. Free shuttle to downtown. No comfy chairs in room, rooms are large, bathroom large, tub and shower. All in all good week.

This resort was stunning! The on site restaurants were really good, we especially enjoyed the set menus for couples. And the buffet breakfast was outstanding, they had everything! The spa was one of the best massage experiences I have ever had. We had a pool villa which was a great decision because we could swim whenever we wanted. The 2 other pools looked really nice, but we never visited them. The staff were all very helpful and there was a concierge service that would help book adventures. They had a very convenient shuttle service to and from downtown Chaweng. The resort extends up into the hillside which can be quite a hike up to your suite, however they have golf carts to take you around which was fun. The resort beach was okay, there were far better beaches to be had nearby or on the surrounding islands.

Nora Buri was all around amazing. It is located very close to the airport and to Chaweng downtown. We had a hillside villa with pool and we never wanted to leave the room at all (and we actually didn’t one day). The view was stunning, the bed was comfortable, the room was clean, and the pool was awesome.

Everyone we encountered from the hotel staff was professional, very friendly and helpful. We had a massage at the spa and it was sublime, the view from there is outstanding and they treat you great. We tried the Barge restaurant and it was very good and we also had a great time at their Wednesday night Hawaiian buffet. We never tried the main pool because we had our own but it looked nice.

Such a great time, Nora Buri made Koh Samui very special. I would book it again in a heartbeat.

The staff at Nora Buri were the best part of our experience there. Nang at the spa, Kumar from concierge. Kea and Son from F&B. First at reception. And also the Management Team whom we met at their Wednesday Cocktail evening were warm, friendly and kind. WE absolutely loved our experience at Nora Buri because we were treated so well by all. Even the buggy drivers were full of enthusiasm for their work! The pools, pool bars and entertainment were all great as well. The set up of the resort was easy to use, and everything was always clean and organised. I would definitely be coming back to Nora Buri! Thank you to all of the staff there who made our mother daughter birthday trip such a memorble and happy one!

No internet in the room for the whole of 5nights stay. Internet at reception is no good as well. Room bell/buzzer keeps seeting off in the middle of night at least 3 times while in our sleep and it usually around 1:30am and 4am. Told management about it, but it seems too complicated for them to understand.

Poor service and not welcoming

visited for my brothers birthday. they told us we would have a \"nicer\" room than the \"usual\" but turned out to be just a standard room. The probem was with the staff who werent so welcoming upon our early arrival. later we had issues with oir internet and TV in the room..we left with both those issues not being resolved even after complaining mulitple times. i would not recomend this hotel given the poor service.

This hotel is large in comparison to others. It is located on a hill, buggies are required to get to rooms near the top. Overall the facilities are good, the pool was the best part about our stay, also the gym has everything you need. The food is overpriced and not great quality. The breakfast buffet offers a lot of choice but is nothing special. In summary the hotel is okay but we preferred the smaller more exclusive resorts where customer service is much better - such as Pavillion / Silvadee.

Stunning hotel overlooking the beach

Very nice hotel, was very impressed regarding the hotel. Check in experience could have been better, especially as we had travelled for over 12 hours to get to the hotel and was told we had to wait to be escorted to our room as they were trying to check in a big group of travellers. After complaining that the kids were tired, and didn’t want to wait around,they got someone to take us to our room.
They had 2 pools, and this was stunning, breakfast was nice however staff are not very attentive as they didn’t always take our drink orders and usually had to get up to find someone to place an order. Being a 5* hotel this isn’t good.

Hotel lacks transportation services to different locations within Koh Samui. Currently only have one location, four times per day.

Staff should learn all of the excursions offered in detail. Had to call to get general information.

This resort was amazing! They were very helpful and friendly and took excellent care of us during our honeymoon. It was a nice place to relax and be pampered in between our more adventurous stops. The food was very good and the spa was fantastic! Conveniently close to airport and Maenam Pier.

The staff are excellent. The main problems were that the Nora Buri is on a STEEP hill. You can't even walk to your room. The hotel staff drive you to your room in golf carts / buggies it is so steep. However if you get back to your hotel anywhere between 5pm and 10pm there isnt many drivers. You end up waiting in the lobby for up to 1/2 hour for a golf cart back to your room. Disappointing. Also, the bathroom was disappointing. Old tiles in the shower, and the shower doesn't drain so you are standing in a 20cm pool of used shower water. Our friends 2 rooms also had plumbing problems. I wouldnt be back.

GREAT HOTEL WITH A BEAUTIFUL VIEW

Our experience at Nora Buri was excellent. We stayed in a Deluxe Hillside Sea View room and got pretty much what we were looking for. The room was nicely kept and spacious and had a great view overlooking the ocean and the surrounding rooms and vegetation. All rooms are spread out enough that it felt relaxing and secluded. The staff were very kind and helpful and looked after all of our needs to the best of their ability. Lloyd the general manager was extremely gracious and went out of his way to make our stay as pleasant as possible and to help us in whatever way he could. Overall, a fantastic place to stay for the price. Its location also places it within a reasonable distance from Chaweng Beach where most of the nightlife is.
