The room was clean and comfortable but the walls are very thin .. I could hear my neighbor snoring! The breakfast buffet is excellent and the hotel is conveniently located. The receptionist was not very accommodating when I complained about the noise. She did not offer any solution. Also I would have expected the front desk staff to be a little more knowledgeable about the facilities and attractions around. Only Dream seemed interested in helping to find the information I needed about the ferry schedules. Overall fair but I wouldn’t stay there again.

Staff were great, rooms clean, tiny ants running around in the bathroom, I thought it was just me, but the room next door had the same problem. I prefer my bathroom to have a shower and not a bathtub with a shower curtain. This caused water to get everywhere. The pool is completely under cover, anyone looking to relax by the pool and catch some rays, this pool isn't for you.

It was extremely hot when we arrived, which was expected, they only allow for one key so that all of the energy in the room is turned off, it takes 20+ minutes for the AC to even do anything in the small rooms. It’s a sauna when you show up each time. Plus, in the middle of the night, the AC turned off so we woke up at 3 AM sweating in our sheets. They mentioned to us the next morning that yes that can occur. Thanks a lot!!

I enjoyed my stay at this property. Amazing choice for breakfast buffet. Great staff on the desk to help with local directions. They have a wonderful pool area. That’s a great spot to go just to chill. It is a short walk to nightlife and activities and easy access to the beach across the street. The only problem I had was Wi-Fi in my room was not working, but they did put a rotor in my room and it was resolved. I’ve been travelling for several months in local accommodations, and this was a real treat to me to stay here. The property was renovated about six years ago, so it’s fresh and modern. Water provided daily in reusable bottles

I really liked this hotel. It was very clean and staff was very helpful and friendly. Everything is walking distance from the hotel. There's a ton of bars and restaurants all around. There's only one complaint I have and the bed is very hard. Other than that, I do highly recommend this hotel.

I had the suite n my room faces directly on to the main street. When they advertise clubs n thai boxing it can get noisy.
Room tv size is a bit small n analog cable has bad quality channels.

They are constantly trying to extort money while having a meal, if the sheet or the pillow gets dirty, they charge an exorbitant price for a new one, only hand out a body towel, and there is no possibility of an additional pillow even with an additional charge

The hotel was clean and tidy, however, the bed was very uncomfortable, and the corridor was very echoey so the noise from other hotel guests doors opening and closing travelled down the hallway. Otherwise good location and close to the beach.

Book if you want to ruin your vacation

I would never book this hotel again, the worst overall experience, ruined my vacation. I booked a premier room, but there were some small bugs in the room, the mattress was very stiff, the tv is installed above the entrance in the bathroom and i hit it with my head (and I'm only 6 ft tall). On top of all that, the worst customer service; they said they are are allowing a friend to enter the room for 5 minutes to wait for me while i was changing only if i pay 1200 Baht. When i confronted the manager she said while she was smiling that i can give them bad reviews if i don't like it, that was the only comment.

Don't book and destroy your vacation!

I normally don't review hotels I stay at, but this hotel was incredible. In particular, Lee,who worked the front desk. This man not only made sure we were comfortable with our stay (got us cabs, told us the best hotspots,etc), when I left my headphones at the hotel, he went above and beyond to get them back to Australia with no damage! The level of service was incredible. Thank you Floral Hotel team!

Lovely place to stay!

Fantastic hotel and outstanding value for money. The staff were so friendly, kind and helpful! We had breakfast included and it was delicious with eggs in a style of your choice made fresh to order. We especially loved the deck cocktail bar with really good takeaway cocktails for 79THB! The hotel is a 2 minute walk from the main strip of bars restaurants and the beach. Recommend staying here 100%!

Completely ruined my stay by incorrectly booking me in for only 2 nights of my booked 3 night stay. It made being a member of a wedding party difficult due to rechecking in to the hotel for the final night. I was only there for 3 nights and they couldn't get this right! They did find book me into another hotel, but the situation was annoying

Do not go there!

Apart of the great location and nice breakfast, this is a poor place to stay in. The air conditioner sounds like a tractor, asking for additional towel, we were told that under hotel policy \"only 2 towels per day\", but, this is not the worst part. After we found out that housekeeping 'cleaned' some money from our room (we double verified it in the following day) we contacted the manager who even didn't offer to return it (it was a very small amount, BTW). Don't go there!

Disappointing. Stay Somewhere else.

Don't let the beautiful lobby and pool fool you. This hotel is not that nice. I stayed for only one night, and that was enough. While the lobby and pool areas are slick, modern, and clean, the rooms are certainly not. The initial room i was placed into was small and not so clean. There were stains in the tub, the main set of windows had grease and grime all over, the furniture was battered and stained, the bathroom window handle was broken so the window could not fully close (hello mosquitos!!!), the air conditioner was wheezy, and the room in general had a fine layer of dust over everything. I was not very happy and was moved to another room. That room was more modern and a bit nicer. But, it still was not very good. The air conditioner was wheezy and loud, with a filter that had probably been changed a year or two ago. The furnishing were still old and battered. And to top it all off, you can hear the pounding music from the bars and discos down the street, even at 1 a.m! Good luck if you like sleeping.
Were there any positives about this hotel? Well, the breakfast was pretty good. And the main street of Chaweng Beach location is perfect if you're young and want to party it up and don't mind all the noise. Otherwise, nothing else worth mentioning. You can definitely find more modern and all around better lodgings in Chaweng Beach, especially at the prices this hotel is charging.

Positive:

We got upgraded from a superior to a deluxe room, since all the superior rooms was full. The staff was friendly and service minded. The breakfast was very decent. The bed was super comfy. Good area, close to everything, and a mini mart right outside the door.

Negative:

Wifi comes and goes. Mostly not working. The deluxe room felt a bit claustrophobic with dark walls and there was really no air circulation. The AC was sort of living it's own life. It was freezing during night time, even though we had set the AC on 28 - 30 degrees.

This is a great hotel, not too far from the beach. It is on the main road with all of the shops and bars and therefore has easy access to everything. The rooms are comfortable with huge king sized beds. I didn't use the pool, but it looked very nice. Breakfast was good. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Last comment: on arrival I had booked online and because that wasn't immediately evident to mgr where the booking was entered there did appear to be an almost hostile reception. She was fine after sourced the payment.

Would recommend but be sure no works close by and would need guarantee against any odour.

Great Location but reception counter is slow

We booked 5 nights in a Executive Room and was upgraded to a Premier Room at the check-in counter, we again requested for a city view but was given the end room with a roof blocking the view from below and in front of us is the office building. Beside this, the room was clean and comfy. The location is great, the hotel is connected to the Skytrain station which make is convenience to hop on hop off to station, its also a walking disance to nearby shopping mall like MBK and Platimum Plaza. The breakfast is normal, same food everyday.

Decent hotel in a good location

We stayed here in June for $60/night. They charge $20/night extra if you want to add a 3rd person to the room, which is not bad at all since it also includes breakfast and an extra bed. The room was spacious, the bed comfortable, and there was a mini fridge (doesn't get very cold). The view was terrible, overlooking a heap of garbage in the back of the hotel. The bathroom was ok. The towels were thin and they didn't supply a hand towel. We were also missing a foot towel, which they later provided. The breakfast buffet was good, especially the fried rice. They also have pasta, bacon, cereal and fruits. The pool area was very clean and relaxing. The location is great, about 10 minutes from the airport. There are tons of restaurants, shops and massage parlors nearby. The beach is on the other side of the street.

There were some cleanliness issues with the room, but nothing that would be a deal-breaker: some dust, a leaky AC unit. Location and access to the beach definitely drive occupancy. The pool is pretty sweet, too. We got a promo rate that eliminated any disappoinment.

We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. True it's not right on the beach, but it's almost next to the heart of the Chaweng beach road, convenient to all the eateries, not far from the beach, very clean. Bathroom is not huge but sufficient and CLEAN! The only thing it's missing is probably a sofa chair or other type of seating which could make the room much more comfortable.
For families with children, or young children, you might need to consider its convenient location caused it to be right on a busy road, it can be noise at times.

Do you like blood stains on your towels?

I don't know why this hotel is marked so highly. Its really dirty. There are stains on all the towels, bedsheets, etc. I only booked 2 nights there and was happy to leave.

ok if you want to save money

We stayed at a luxury resort before checkig in to nora chaweng so our experience has to be seen in relation to this. We booked this hotel because it was cheap and close to the beach and so it was. We realised that it is important for us to see the beach or at least some trees from our window to feel like we are in thailand but if this is not important for you the hotell is nice, the rooms are good (smells a bit funny but no biggie) the staff is very helpful and friendly, you get beach towels from reception and its just a small walk to the beach. However I would not recomend anyone to stay in chaweng. We thought it was crouded, overpriced and not a nice place to be. Before we came to chaweng we stayed at choeng mon and we liked this more (fishermans village is also a nice place to go for dinner). But overall we thought this hotel was good for the price.

Very nice but..

The hotel is clean, excellent location, good room,etc. BUT i face an unpleasant experience:I live in Thailand for some years and have many friends in diiferent places, including Koh Samui. A foreigner friend of mine came to visit and no questions were asked. Later on, a Thai friend came to visit and he was questioned as if he was a criminal or a prostitute and asked to leave his ID card in the front desk. Furthermore, my room was booked for two guest and my second guest, another friend was arriving in the evening from Bangkok to meet me in Samui. BUT i was told that if my Thai friend comes to the room, even for short time, would be considered my second guest and noone else could stay there..

I stayed at Nora Chaweng Hotel 3 years ago when it was just newly built. Back then the inconvenience and nuiances of an almost being finished hotel from the strong smell of drying cement and new staff were supplimented well by a courteous and warm service from staff.
This visit however three years after was not as warm. Almost none of the staff had a welcoming smile. Then it took the intervention of the manager get us moved to another room/floor after the A/C unit in my Mom's room spewd water all over the TV in her room. But they did find us two ajoining rooms. I ordered a van to transport us to the Airport at 9AM on the day we checked out for a 10AM departure to the airport. We had to wait a good 20 minutes before the van and driver arrived. Very dissappointing.

Nice hotel on Chawen Road

The rooms at the hotel were comfy and spacious, although I found the bed a little hard for my liking. The hotel is at the beginning of Chaweng road and you have to cross the street and go through another resort to get to the beach, but it's not too much of a distance. However, the happening areas were a bit further down the beach.

The spa was wonderful! My wife and I tried the honeymoon package and were in bliss afterwards, although individual treatments are expensive compared to outside massage places and spas.

Everything you need (money exchange,pharmacy, last minute purchases) were also in walking distance.

I would recommend this hotel to other travellers. I got a good value during low season so I was very happy with my stay.

The hotel was clean and conveniently located. However, as I had made the booking for 3 rooms, about 2 months ahead, when I arrived, the staff said they had no knowledge of our booking. Thankfully, it was low season, so they were able to provide us with the rooms fairly efficiently.

One of many Nora hotels in Chaweng

First thing is to make sure your ride knows which Nora in Chaweng you are going to, I saw at least 3 on the main road. Hotel was fairly new although my shower was falling apart. Breakfast was included and quite good (made to order eggs too). Only downside is that they are not \"lady friendly\". It cost 1000 baht to have a guest visit. I guess it depends what you are going there for.

Nice on the outside, smelly on the inside.

We were really impressed with this hotel upon arrival, especially for the price. However, that soon faded when we reached the second floor of the hotel and were slapped in the face with the smell of sewage/mildew. This smell persisted in our room in the bathroom area. On top of that, my beach towel had stains all over the back of either rust or blood, and they didn't change the sheets. The pluses were that the location was very close to the beach (across the street and down a block through another hotel, Aqua) and nightlife, the breakfast was good, and there was wifi in the rooms. Despite this, I may do some more shopping around before returning to koh samui because the stench of this place was seriously nasty.

Convient location, nice rooms, decent price

Nora Chaweng Hotel is right on the main roach (Chaweng Beach Rd), 5 minute walk from the beach, close to the night life, shopping and everything else.
The hotel staff were extremely helpful, even advising us on a delicious local place to eat. The staff spoke English and were sweet and accomodating in every way. Rooms cleaned on a daily basis. Hotel staff were knowledgeable and willing to go the extra mile.
If you want somewhere close to the action, and looks exactly like the hotel website - this is the place for you. The pool is lovely (extremely cold-but the weather is so hot its not a big deal). You do hear some noise at night - being that close to strip... but it wasnt horrible. My only complaint would be we paid for laundry and it was expensive (in regards to the other rates for laundry in Thailand). But the benefit was we didnt have to walk around with our laundry and find a suitable place and all our clothing came back fresh and clean in our rooms.

A brilliant hotel in a fantastic location

Myself and my girlfriend stayed in the Nora Chaweng for 5 nights in total (2 at the beginning and 3 at the end) either end of travelling the nearby islands.

The hotel itself is clean, well run and in a great location. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the aircon is much needed and brilliant!

It's located on the main chaweng road but far enough away to escape the noise of the Chaweng Night Life. Saying that Soi Green Mango is only a 5 minute walk (or 10 minute stumble) away and passes McDonalds and Burger King for the much needed end of night fast food!

The hotel has safes in the rooms, security on the door and the reception is manned all night. Rooms were cleaned daily and they provide you with beach towels also which was a nice touch.

Would recommend this hotel to anyone, young, old, singles, couples, groups, and families and will definitely be staying here again when we return in December.

Looking for a comfortable budget stay in Chaweng

If you are looking for a decent, clean, relatively new hotel with a budget, do try Nora Chaweng. Stay there for 2 nights recently and i must say i will do it again if i am not looking at hotel facilities and if i will spending my day out at the beach most of the time.

We stayed at the Nora Chaweng for 4 nights in June 2010. The staff were friendly and courteous, the rooms modern and clean. the bathroom was large with a great sized tub. Breakfast was all of the usual suspects and tasty. The pool was great as it was under the building and in constant shade the pool was really cool and refreshing after a hot and muggy day out. Not the usual very warm pools you get in Thailand that offer no relief from the heat and humidity. We would recommend and stay here again very good value for your $$$ They also have a Day Spa (forgotten the name) which was really good.

The Best Hotel I Stayed At During My Month in SE Asia

I stayed at the Nora Chaweng Hotel in the middle of my month long trip through SE Asia. The room and staff were so much better than the other places I stayed at during my trip that I ended up resting here instead of spending time on the beach.

The WIFI worked. The location was great. But if I were to give one more reason to stay at the Nora Chaweng Hotel, I'd say the OMELET bar! Your complimnentary breakfast includes having a staff member custom make your eggs to order. It was the best OMELET I've ever had in my life!

Just outside the front door is a great travel agent that was able to book tours and plane tickets for us. Her plane ticket prices were lower than those we found online.

The only negative is the bed is just as hard as every other bed in Thailand. The trick is to fold your comforter in half and then lay on top and cover yourself (like a taco).

Nora Chaweng Beach Just Perfect.

Nicely situated,clean comfortable and friendly staff,reasonably priced, a real must if the budget allows it,although not beach front this hotel is perfect for late nights out in the lively Chaweng Beach, only minutes from all the action,will certainly use again.

Looks and feels like a four star hotel. Very child friendly!

We stayed here for five nights as a start to a three-week trip in Thailand. The first impression was very good and remained throughout the stay. The hotel is very elegant and clean. Large rooms. The staff is very friendly. Our little daughter at 2 years was treated like a little princess. Large swimming pool and children's pool, however, under roof, with no sun, which can be quite nice after a hot day at the beach. The beach is about 100 m away, follow the signs to the Salinas Beach Bar where you can get free sun loungers all day if you order something in the bar. The hotel is on the main street within walking distance of both shopping and party at night. We are very pleased with this hotel and will stay here again at the next visit to Koh Samui.

Just got back from 10 nights in Koh Samui staying at Nora Chaweng. Was very impressed with this hotel for the price we paid, rooms were clean & comfortable & breakfast was good. The hotel location was good set on Chaweng Main Road close to all pubs and 5 mins walk to the beautiful beach. The only minor things about this hotel is that the rooms didn't have a balcony & the hotel pool which was lovely but under cover so you couldn't lie by the pool and sunbath but with the beach only 5 mins walk that wasn't too much of a problem. Hotel staff were lovely & spoke good English very helpful with anything we needed

Enormt støjende

Meget meget støj fra fest gaden. Så høj musik, så vi ikke kunne falde i søvn før det slukkede 02 om natten. Vi rejste med to børn (baby og 2 årig), som ikke engang kunne sove fra det.
Ellers stort og godt værelse, god morgenmad og god service. Desværre var støjen altoverskyggende for os som børnefamilie.

Hvis man havde været på tur for at feste og var bedøvet af alkohol vil stedet være helt perfekt :-)

Hotel is nice, good breakfast, polite services, but extramly noisy (from outside and from other rooms too). Aircondition is like start of airplane, swimming pool is cold without any equipment. During the breakfast play music where singing about sh*ts and f*cking. So for young people it’s ok, but for families, no way.

Gute Lage, nicht weit von Strand. In der Nähe von Zentrum. Sehr harte Matratze. Boden ist unsauber,mit altem Schmutz. Staub wird nie abgewischt. Ich habe gefragt, dass sie Boden reinigen, aber es wurde nicht gemacht. Reinigungs- Mitarbeiterin nur Flecken eliminiert, die ich ihr gezeigt habe.

Le personnel est vraiment top, à l’accueil. La piscine étant sous le bâtiment, et en permanence à l’ombre, l’eau y est plutôt froide. L’approvisionnement du petit déjeuner n’est pas terrible. Le bruit extérieur peut être un souci.

Worst experience by Front of Nora lake view hotel

I booked Nora lake view hotel The confirmation of Hotels.com says Nora lake view hotel.
When I reached your hotel by taxi, the staffs immediately said “Full Book and go to another hotel before any question even no name.
Then I found English confirmation and showed then they said.Address is wrong, you have to walk Nora floral!
Then I found booking site made a mistake like “Name is lake view but address is Nora chaweng.”
I tried to keep gentle attitude and asked to contact Nora Chaweng to find my booking, but firstly they refused and said,” you can walk check by yourself!.
But google showed me 1.6 km distance and 20 minutes but my suitcase is 30kg! So that please contact Nora Chaweng to be helped with showing English confirmation.
In mean while since I stressed a lot to the attitude of this front staffs, I asked
Why don’t you help or be more friend at least, I don’t know your booking condition, but I paid already earlier than a week!
But they complained “ i don’t Know you paid Hotels.com or Booking .com,you didn’t pay me!”
Then I stopped talking with them.
I have never seen this hotel kind of attitude by front staff in other hotel in the world.
