Resort is very clean. Friendly staff from the lobby all the way to the pool restaurant. 15 min walk to downtown or take a tuk tuk for roughly 200 baht.
Walkable to dining places and many places to choose from for a massage. Highly recommend staying here.

The staff at the hotel were lovely and the communal spaces were very nice. Great gym too. However, our first room was horrible. Upon entering, the room was nice, good amenities, but it smelt and felt damp. Then, in the night the toilet started to emit a foul smell, and in the morning the shower had filled with gross coloured water and went on the bathroom floor. When I spoke to the hotel they initially tried to get me to pay to upgrade my room, but after declining and requesting a refund for the rest of our stay if that was the only option, we were moved to a similar room which was much nicer and had no issues. The weather had been terrible so this might have contributed to our issues, but I think we should have been offered to move rooms straight away.

We enjoyed our stay here but I would not class this hotel as a bouquet hotel. The facilities were good but the pool was small. It was on the beach with free paddleboard hire but there was only one paddleboard meaning you had to wait for it to be returned until you could use it. The beach was small and the tide came in early meaning your belongings had to be moved up to the pool area. There were minimal sun loungers so no where to sit unless you serviced one early or went in the evening.
The roads are dangerous to walk to Chaweng on even though it’s only 15 minutes away so you are reliant on taxis or tuk tuks travel if wishing to leaving the resort.

Another fantastic stay at the Baan Haad, they are constantly renovating the resort and its rooms so everything always looks so fresh and modern when we come each year. The staff are fabulous and the restaurant is lovely. For us, there’s no reason to look at anywhere else to stay in Samui.

Check-in was very smooth, the staff were kind and attentive which made our arrival pleasant. We had two adjoining rooms on the top floor, which was a great location for one night before an early morning flight.

However, there were some issues with the opening of the doors between the two rooms but eventually it was solved and we were given keys to our respective sides.

The room was mostly very clean and nice. Balcony doors did not close properly (gaps between doors) but locked so it was ok. For a longer term stay it could’ve been a tad annoying. Beds were clean and comfortable albeit a bit too soft for my liking but this could’ve been solved by asking for the mattress topper to be removed - I am certain that it wouldn’t have been a problem at all. Plenty of towels, appropriate amenities and sufficient amount of water was provided.

The only small criticisms about the room were a pair of dirty socks underneath the bathroom sink in a corner, perhaps not noticed when cleaning, and that between the doors that connect the two rooms had not been cleaned in a long time resulting to quite a bit of dust. I found the room a bit noisy in the evening as people walking around were talking loud but this wasn’t a problem at night. Previously I stayed in one of the villas and that was very quiet. Overall, pleasant and refreshing stay with smooth ride to airport. Would return.

Overall the 11 day stay here was excellent. The rooms were large , clean with great bathroom facilities and a good aircon system. Staff were very friendly dnd helpfull although room service was a bit hit and miss at times. Only ate in the restaurant at lunch but have to say the food was very good. One thing to bear in mind is that whilst the pool was nice there were at times limited sunbeds snd where the hotel is located there is only a sliver of beach is visible at low tide. All in all a very enjoyable stay which was only slightly marred on the last few days when several families arrived with a lot of children and they took over round the pool with a lot of shouting , from both kids and adults

This place is beautiful and right next to the ocean. Breakfast was included with our stay and was beyond what I expected. Each morning you can eat right next to the ocean. The service was also amazing and the greeted us with a welcome drink and carmels. It’s pretty close to Chaweng beach and there is the taxis that drive by constantly if you don’t want to walk. The room was also spotless and they cleaned our room everyday and left us new water bottles to drink.

Old property. Bathroom shower fixture was barely hanging on the wall and when I turned on the water it basically fell off and swung to the left. I would definitely not recommend unless you're on an extremely tight budget. Only reason I stayed was that I was getting in late and leaving for Koh Tao in the morning and the reviews were \"pretty good\" not sure who wrote those.

Hotel is lovely and clean. There was some construction/renovations of the room we were meant to be in, so we were upgraded to the family villa. Private pool was great as the main pool closes at 7pm. Breakfast was extensive, clean and hot. Location is out of the way of the main strip. About 50baht per person tut tut to the main strip. Hotel is helpful at booking scooters and tours.

This resort is on a lovely stretch of beach. We loved the beach and infinity pool. The ocean is very shallow, you can walk out in the warm water for a long time. If you want to walk along the beach you have to time this for a low tide, at times the water comes right up to the wall. The breakfast is amazing, lots of options and they will also cook you items. The tables are set right out on the beach and the view is amazing. We were in a garden view room. The room was a bit dated, but had a large balcony. The rooms need to be updated and painted. The bathroom fixtures were old, the tub faucets were rusty, the bathroom door did not close and the shower door leaked. The bed was comfy and daily room service was provided. We were surprised at the state of the towels, many of them had stains and were badly frayed at the edges. At one point I took them back to exhange for some others. They provided you with a beach bag, pool towels and robes which was a nice touch. All in all good value for the money we paid.

Decent option with a great beach

The good: great service from friendly people, very good restaurant and a couple of good food options nearby, clean beach with white sand away from the parties, rooms and beds are a good size.

To know: its a bit older. They had to come a couple of times for the air conditioner and mosquitos definitely get in through the gaps in the wooden doors so you will need spray and prepare for to swat a few (they are slow enough). Pool is small with limited seating so you need to get a chair early.

Overall, I would definitely recommend it for couples and families who want to be close to but not in the middle of the action on Samui. The people, food, and sand made the price we paid worth it.

The property is absolutely beautiful and the room was huge! It included so many amenities I didn’t expect, such as beach bag, slippers, umbrella, and huge beach towels. The bathroom is basically three separate rooms, which was separated from the bedroom by a long hallway. Oh, and a private front porch plus a little lazy River in front of the room that added so much charm! I only stayed one night because I was transiting but I could have easily spent weeks there! The ocean is right outside, and it’s calm, shallow and easy for swimmers and non- swimmers alike to enjoy. I didn’t go in the pool because I didn’t have time, but it also looked amazing and very refreshing. Everything was sparkling clean and the staff treated me like family. Highly recommend this place!!

I booked beach front room following Samui outstanding point. Thus it's excellent facilities but it's location at end Chaweng beach which it's far over 2-3 Kms from restaurant area. The services were too poor except Olivio restaurant. When I checked in GM informed me there was system error and commanded me stay in their garden view room with private pool (I booked since beginning Mar, they had time over 1 month to inform me but they didn't do) but I prefered to stay at beach front room. It's extremely terrible and almost was cancelled room. It's Songrant's festival which all hotels were fully book. But they could not do it because I did fully payment and booked through government program so they could not cancel my booking. Finally I could get beach front room which they reserved for another guest and guest did not check in yet. They did not clean room and there was no general services. This is too poor for 4 star hotel. I would advise you stay at other hotels and I believe that other hotels can provide you better services with good facilities.

Hotel staff was very welcoming and attentive. They made sure our stay was comfortable! The pool has a beautiful view of the ocean, and the beach is well maintained. Daily breakfast was delicious. The rooms are spacious and have a very relaxing feel. Chaweng Beach is about a 20 minute walk if you walk along the shore side. There is a pharmacy and a laundry service nearby (where you can rent a motorbike) which is a steal to do your laundry there. Beware, lots of mosquitos. Bring repellent! We loved the hotel and definitely recommend!

Photos are really different from reality. Really poor service. The staff is really unfriendly. You can't order a soda when the restaurant is close. The hotel refuse to call local taxi but only offer hotel taxi (triple price from local taxi). The staff will try to charge lot of extra whenever they can.

I would like to thank you to guard man name Mr Tony for being an extra mile service. To hotel staff none of them satisfy me with their services especially when my partner wanted to rent a bike from the hotel. Staff shouldnt let a guest to wait for approval upon facilities they have. Service should be fast with their knowledge. We have to rent a bike from hotel where we use to stay there on our 1st n 2nd visit to Koh samui.This is our 3rd time visit koh samui and we want to try others hotel or villas for our staycation. Room cleaning is very good but the housekeeping top up a torn brown sugar packet n didnt top up packets of coffee (1 of the 4 days stay)

The hotel grounds are very nice. Great pool with beautiful views. Nice restaurant with great breakfast included, but their drinks (even during happy hour) and food are outrageously expensive. Not the hotel's fault, but the power in that area of the island went out for about 6 hours one day and our room was next to the emergency generator which was very loud. Also, we are non-smokers, but it seemed like everyone else staying at the hotel was a smoker, so everywhere we went (lobby, pool, breakfast) we were surrounded by smoke, which was unpleasant. Lots of kids staying at the resort, so the pool area would get loud during the day too. Staff was very pleasant and accommodating.

Beautiful hotel, friendly staff and great location

Baan Haad Ngam was a fantastic resort. I booked into a one of the Villas and the personal pool and jacuzzi is insanely cool. Room was massive too. Definitely worth spending a bit more for the space.
Location is very good as its less than 10 minutes ride into Chewang main beach area so you are close to the action but not in it. A few restaurants, ATMs, pharmacy, convenience stores around the hotel so that's handy.
Hotel staff were extremely friendly (from the receptionist, bell boy, waiters/waitresses to even the security guard. Love Thai people.
They also have a super infinity right next to the beach. Swam every day with a good cocktail to boot during happy hour.

Hotel was in great location but we had to negotiate 38 steep steps to access our room.
Definetely would not recommend for older customers wanting a sea view.
Whilst room was clean & tidy housekeeping times were somewhat erratic.
Concerning actual unit we believe it would benefit from a makeover having stayed
at various equivalent rated properties over the past 7 years on Koh Samui (PS set of
actual drawers would have been fantastic)
Restaurant (Olivios) was very good.

Stayed in the Deluxe Villa Sea View with private pool - nicely appointed room, spacious and reasonably maintained. Quiet location away from the hustle of some of the other hotels along the beach.
The only negative is that you need to keep an eye on the ants that can make their way into the room given the lush trees surrounding the hotel. Staff were responsive with pest control. :) Highly recommend this hotel for couples and families. Staff are friendly and helpful. Thumbs up.

Ah-mazing!

After staying in many hotels that we’re not like their pictures, this was a jackpot! The pool view is really that gorgeous, the rooms look like the pictures plus cozy and clean, and as a bonus, the staff is wonderful!! The breakfast buffet with omelet station is delicious and the HH (bogo drinks!) at the pool was great too. Area is quiet, and about a 5 min motorbike ride to the downtown area. Motorbikes were about 300 baht a day and can be rented directly through the hotel. This hotel was the perfect ending to out two week tour of Thailand!

A fantastic stay with a beautiful beach and shallow waters perfect for our young daughter. We had a sea view pool villa which was excellent, my only criticism is the ‘sea view’ is a little misleading as you can only see a fraction of the sea from the room. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful and fantastic food at the restaurant!

Music far too loud by the pool.

For some bizarre reason, horribly loud, music is played from the start of breakfast at 7am right through the day into the evening. It's so invasive and inappropriate for a small boutique hotel, it leaves you unable to concentrate on anything like reading your book or relaxing. We asked really politely numerous times for it to be turned down, the first time it was turned down to a normal level but quickly crept up again. After that staff just ignored the requests making out they didn't understood what was being asked. So we ended up spending a lot of time away from the resort where it was quieter which was really, really disappointing and a real shame because the pool area is so lovely, it never used to be like this, I don't know what's changed, perhaps the resort is trying to appeal to a younger demographic but I'm in my 20's and didn't appreciate it whatsoever. It was the same tracks repetitively played on loop over and over throughout the day, it became like mental torture having a mix of elevator music and ridiculously auto-tuned, whiney, cheap cover tracks, (where the lyrics aren't even correct) blasting out and you could see other people becoming agitated by it too. I feel the music is more for the bar/restaurant staffs enjoyment as apposed to the guests. No other resorts along Chaweng beach play their music so loudly during the day minus Ark Bar and a few other places, but these are party resorts and so of course the guests are expecting a different experience.

Would not reccommend this resort, everything is very old, mold on bath and shower and water taps. Room not thoroughly cleaned. Service was okay, reception were helpful and friendly; restaurant staff were friendly at night, but mornings are different, they also dont want you so sit inside with ac, breakfast was also not good. There were flies on the food and made us only eat fruit in mornings. You also have to pay for a cappuccino because its not included in breakfast. I would not recommend this resort, i dont agree on the over all rating of the resort.

Very nice boutique resort. A little older and could use some updates but one of the nicest in the area. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed in a Delixe Pool Villa which was well worth the additional cost. Private pool and jacuzzi, amazing room. The restaraunt on site is a little pricey, and not very good food, but there a ton of other bars and restaraunts within walking distance, you're able to walk along the beach all the way into town. We never took a taxi anywhere.

Pool villa is a nice treat

The private pool Villa was nice and had a 4.5star feel to it. Some minor maintanence needed in parts but nothing major. Tony the security guard was a laugh and very friendly. Overall a good stay at a beautiful resort.

Awesome breakfast and breathtaking view! The grounds are very well kept. Get the airport shuttle, it's really convenient. There's shuttle service to Central. We walk along the beach back to the hotel. There's an Italian restaurant on site, which has really good food. We ended up eating there both nights.

The best hotel in Chaweng beach

It is one of the best hotels In Chaweng beach. Staff are nice , breakfast is so lovely and olivio my favorites place at all the time , love Samui beCause of ba an Haad nigem

far from noise but still good location.

the stairs for the second floor are dangerous hi hit the wall almost every time with my shoulder
the hotel give only one big key that turn on the electricity , the reception is far so.... really uncomfortable and disturbing . (What about smart card ?it's new technology ;))
I booked a room with free pick up from airport it's only airport!!!
Not pier or ferry (the airport is 4 min drive only, didn't agree to take us to pier so if u keep moving to difrent island by sea this servise is no need)
the pool is great
the hotel food is great .
fix the small things...

The pool villas are great rooms, spacious and clea

I called prior to setup the room for my anniversary, and came in with it looking as needed. The pool villas are great, spacious, private pool and spa, and everything needed nearby. Was great waking up every morning, walking 10 steps and dipping into a pool only for me and my partner.

The service is great, the staff are very friendly and accomodating. Been to Thailand before, and I know some hotel staff are a little arrogant and angry towards tourists (e.g. some bar staff at Ark Bar), but everyone here is friendly and happy to assist you.

The check-in process could have run a little smoother, but in the end we got the room when we arrived and it was setup to how I needed. We sat in a nice air conned room with refreshments as they got our details ready etc. The only hiccup I felt was needing to send them a few details when I thought they would have had it already, and at the time, it made me feel anxious if they had the room decorated, but all in all, everything went well.

The bathroom was clean and looked nice, only thing is, we started getting a strange smell but we ignored it and left the door open to the air, didn't bother us too much but just wanted to point it out.

Otherwise, I would highly recommend it, as a great hotel and not too far from the central tourist location. It's about a 100thb for two persons to the main chaweng beach area and is right at the end of the beach, so everything feels really private and quiet.

Great intimacy hotel

We got upgrad to a room with plung pool near the beach wonderful room so I don't no to tell how is the other room
The stuff is great very helpful and friendly
The breakfast is good and you can make your own fresh pineapple guice and more
You have a nice beach and it is very quiet because it a litel far from the center of chaweng
The pool is not so big and at the morning ours it is the children Time but it's not so crowded
You have the olivetto restaurant that has good food and not far from the hotel you have a beech restaurant that have a good food and not so expensive
Definitely recommend if you are looking for a quite and peaceful vacation

Loved this hotel! The room was beautiful especially the pool villa. The buffet breakfast included had so many options and was delicious and the beach near the hotel was the most amazing beach we've ever been to! We just got married and the hotel was so gracious for our honeymoon giving us a bottle of champagne and a floral bouquet upon our arrival. Definitely a great place and can't wait to go back again!! Highly recommend

Right on the beach, close to the airport

Great beach, great pool (you will use it since you need to walk quite a while into the sea until the water is deep enough to swim), nice room and only 3 km from the airport, that is far enough that the airplanes (taking off and landing) will not disturb you. The food is the usual tourist quality food at tourist prices like in most places on the island. There are plenty of restaurants, convenience stores, shops close by to explore.

Great hotel besides the rude GM

It was great place, loved the staff they were very friendly and housekeeping were wonderful. The only fault was the GM of Baan Haad Ngam. She approached me at the breakfast buffet saying I need to leave and get changed because it was breakfast. I was wearing a long top over my bikinis that covered everything and the buffet is on the beach next to a pool. They have no dress code presented and other women were walking around in their bikini or see through dresses in the restaurant.. So she just made me feel very uncomfortable for no reason don't know why she targeted me and make me feel conscious of what I wear around that place.

Nice hotel, but they have a bug issue outside

They put mosquito repellent in the rooms and you have a mosquito net to drop around your bed, I didn't have an issue with the mosquitos. However when sitting at the restaurant they had bees swarm us and you could tell that they have been a problem there, find the nest! Otherwise, real good service and hospitality right when we got there and free lift to the airport were awesome. Location isn't great, but not bad.

One of the best hotels I've stayed in

This hotel was amazing from start to finish. We were greeted with a drink ans flowers on arrival, the staff could not have been more helpful. It is right on the beach and close to chaweng town, you could walk in about 15/20 mins or the hotel offer a free shuttle service 3 times a day. I'd recommend a trip to the fishermans village to anyone going here.

Good but a little shabby in places

Hotel is nice, could be a bit better maintained eg sun parasols were dirty and ripped, pool decking peeling varnish etc. Wifi was food although speed and reliability was less so. Room was nice, maids did a good job. Breakfast had a good selection of western and Asian food. Main problem is a road which intersects the property which can be very noisy. Also the septic tank was near our room and was constantly being emptied so the smell was horrid at times

Hotel was inflexible with regard to our request to change date of stay by 2 days. Even though our request was made 4 months before the actual booking, he hotel would not allow us to change our dates and insisted we purchase a new booking.
Won't ever be staying again at Baan Haad Ngam

Utter paradise and nothing could of been better

When we arrived we were ill from Bangkok and we wanted to change villas as it was slightly noises and too close to a through road. They moved us straight away to somewhere more peaceful. Every morning at breakfast and in the evening when we walked into the restaurant, we were always greeted by name by the staff and all had warm smiles and lots of good conversation in them. Particularly Lin and TAktu who were our favourites. When we were relaxing on the beach the guy named Oh was always on hand to get the drinks in for us!! For our last night we decided to upgrade to a pool deluxe room and it couldn't of been more spectacular. It is the nicest hotel complex we have ever stayed in and we will definitely be returning as soon as possible!! The location of the hotel is perfect as everything seems so secluded but you have everything right at your feet if you want to explore! Thank you to the staff for making it so beautiful!!
