This was a very basic, small room with a bathroom with shower. It is in a great location— easy walk to the beach, many restaurants, & shopping. It also had a balcony that was big enough to sit in. The staff was not very responsive on messaging. I sent a couple of messages that weren’t ever answered. It also says that they have someone in “reception” most of the day, but I never saw a reception area. When I arrived at the time I told them, no one was there to meet me and I didn’t see any reception desk/office. They came about 30 minutes later.

This was a great base for exploring San Sebastian. It's just a couple of minutes from the old town, the beach and Downtown. The staff were helpful and the room was well-equipped and comfortable. The only slight downside was that clearly a child lives above and with the hard wood floors, I could hear them running up and down - not a big problem as they went to bed early!

The Pension Urkia is in an excellent location: it is walking distance to the beach, shopping, bars and restaurants. Our balcony had a wonderful view of the street. The bed was a bit firm, but everything else was pleasant.

Everything was fine except for the fact the noise was unreal. All night long banging of doors. Every morning at 7 AM there is a school below you and the talking begins every day. So loud that you could hear them inside your room with windows closed and music playing. A solid night sleep was impossible there. I almost went crazy. Only book if you are there for one night only

great place. We had room 1 on the first floor, and it was wonderful. Comfortable bed, a balcony overlooking the street, compact but good bathroom with plenty of warm water.
The location couldn't be better. Literally steps from the boardwalk to the beach and three minutes walking to old town. Juan Mari has created his own food map of the area (excellent) and is an unabashed fan of his city.
Across the street is a grocery store which is really helpful. Nothing was more than a fifteen minute walk from the room, most everything was much closer.

We stay in this place just one week. It’s perfect location in center of city. 5 minutes walk to any attractions like to the beach and old city. 10 minutes to train and bus station. So many coffee shops and restaurants around. To close to shopping mall and others stores.

Charming, compact, great location
Great location, very friendly and accommodating host with great recommendations of places to visit for pintxos. Found the room a little tight for space and the noise travelled down from upstairs and from the room next door but neither went late. The double glazed doors cut the street noise completely which was great, but a bit hot without air conditioning, which I didn’t realise we wouldn’t have in the room when I booked, which is my oversight.

While the room was on the small side (but enough for two and two large suitcases) we had a small enclosed balcony with opening windows and two very comfortable chairs. A great place to sit and contemplate both the beginning and end of the day.

Stayed two nights when visiting San Sebastian, very good location as it's close to the beach and old part of the town. Comfy bed with a shared kitchen with all facilities which was very clean. Friendly staff.

This is a great property - large clean rooms with comfortable furnishings and a great location. Nearby some shopping centers, Playa Concha, and the old town with all the pintxos restaurants.
If there's any negative it's that it isn't wheelchair friendly and you'll always have to walk yourself and your luggage up at least a flight of stairs to get to the elevator.

It is a basic, small room with access to a fully equipped kitchen. It was clean and the staff was very friendly. My major problem was the noise. It is on a busy street and the windows are not well soundproofed. My room was on the first floor right next to a busy bus stop. If you are a light sleeper you will not get any rest.

The staff is extremely accommodating and want you to enjoy their beautiful city. It’s about a 5 minute walk to the Concha beach and a 10 minute walk from the best restaurants in the area. The owner even made a little pamphlet with gastropub suggestions and the best dishes from each place. For the price of this place you can’t find a better value.

This was my absolute worst experience ever!
The room was sunky, mouldy and very noisy between the rooms. The room was obviosly hot since it was summer, but we could not leave AC on because of the screamy noice. The smell in the room was musty, and we suspect mold...
Also, worst of all - the next morning we woke up with bedbug bites. Lots of them.
We told straight ahead that we wanted to shorten our stay and cancel two remaining nights, and we moved out. We did not receive any payment back för the two cancelled nights.
When we checked out after one night (and all the bedbugs) there was no one in the reception, and we tried calling them to tell them exactly all the things we had experienced, but there was no one answering.
And afterwards they now tell us they didn't know we were dissatisfied... No compensation, no excuse, no nothing...
