I was worried about staying here after reading the reviews but the property was great. Perfect location and street noise was not an issue despite having a room over the main Street. The noise between rooms wasn’t great but nothing that stopped me having a great stay.

Perfectly located on the edge of old town, close to beaches and shopping locations - and a 15 minute walk from the bus station. Staff were excellent, and the room, while quite small, was more than enough for a 4 night stay. Only comment was that the mattress was a bit hard for my personal preference - but this Pension is well recommended for a stay in San Sebastián.

Absolutely perfect location.
10 minutes walk from the bus station.
2 minutes from the nearest ice cream/cafe/burnt cheesecake.
3-5 minutes from any number of bars and restaurants.
Wide tree-lined pedestrian area beneath our bedroom window leading past multiple restaurants and ice cream stops down to the harbour.
Opera singing buskers serenaded beneath our window on a couple of evenings.
Our double bedroom was snug but had a room safe, en suite shower room and plenty of hanging space for your clothes.
2 excellent communal coffee machines down the hallway.
Very helpful reception staff.
We'd happily stay here if we visit San Seb' again.

Great property with a wonderful staff. Location is perfect. Can’t imagine a more convenient spot to enjoy San Sebastián.
The only downside, and it was big for us, was the noise. We were in room 1. Rooms 1-6 face a plaza bordered by a busy street. Starting at first light, a procession of daily street cleaning, waste removal,etc begins. Sleep at that point is impossible. I don’t know about the other side of the building, but I think it would be better. I would stay again, but try the other side.

The hotel was as expected. Rooms were clean and simple with enough space, the showers had good water pressure, and Nespresso coffee was available. The beds were slightly thin, and you could hear everything in the hallways, but this was as expected from other reviews we read. Location was the big win here: one block from the best area of town for Pintxos, and three blocks to access the water on any side. We enjoyed our time here!

Perfect for three people for a week. Yes it is noisy at night because you are in the center of the old town but that's what we wanted and it didn't bother us. Staff are really lovely and friendly and gave very good information. They will give you more coffee pods shampoo toilet paper everything you need for your stay. Really perfect place to stay in San Sebastian and I would happily go back anytime.

Reception was so friendly and helpful. Went out of his way to make sure everything was right.
The location is excellent with bars and restaurants.
Room had tea and cofffee, plates , glasses even a fridge.
We took a dog which was no problem. Parking in underground car park 800m cost €20 with discount from reception.

Our experience at this pension was disappointing. The room was much smaller and more basic than the photos suggested. The air conditioning was broken, and despite asking twice, it was never fixed, making the stay uncomfortable. Road noise was constant, the pillows were thin and uncomfortable, and there was no hot water on the first morning. The staff were nice but did not speak English, which made communication difficult.

On the plus side, the location is good, and there is a lift to the second floor, but overall, I would not recommend staying here.

Well thought out accommodation in the heart of the bustling old town.
Very friendly and helpful staff. The downside of being so close to the action is noise, but we expected it and didn’t bother us. Eco points dropped for having those small plastic containers for shampoo and shower gel. Please replace with refillable containers! 😊 All in all an inexpensive stay in the midst of the town which is clean, modern and friendly. Oh! And the shower was amazing!!!

Wonderful stay at Pensión Sarriegi

I went to San Sebastián with my partner, sister and brother-in-law for a week’s vacation and to celebrate my birthday. The Pensión was amazing in terms of location - central to the beach and River and in the Old Town. In addition the Hotel was clean and Laura and Gita were very friendly and helpful.

I arrived to the hotel around 6:30pm on July 20th, I had reservations set at Martin Berasategui (a 3 Michelin star restaurant) so I planned to get ready right after checking in. However, due to plumbing issues the water was not draining fast enough and was leaking out of the shower and into the bathroom. I quickly turned off the shower to let the front desk know. The initial lady was able to grab towels and soak up the water (note: I was still not done showering) she told me to just shower again with out fixing the problem. I asked for a different room so that there will be no issues or possible water damaged she said they were fully booked. So I completed my shower and let the water flow out since she said it was okay. The reception desk later told me that it was a water pressure issue and that it is normal. I find their approach in handling the entire situation completely unacceptable. I would not recommend this place at all. There was not even an apology rather a bunch of excuses.

We had a great stay at the pension house. Rooms were well equipped and functioned great. Access to rooms was very easy and the staff was very friendly. The location is ideal for those seeking a truly authentic experience. One minor issue is that our room faced the plaza below and was very noisy at night. Nothing too serious to ruin the trip my any means but just something to be aware of if you want a quieter experience. Overall excellent stay and would book again

Excellent location and big rooms. Laura was very friendly and made us feel welcome. The rooms were cleaned everyday and it was done very nicely and quickly. There is plenty to do around the guest house. The main pinxto bars are only a few yards away and the promenade is a short walk. We would definitely stay here again on our next visit. The property is pet friendly as well.

Fine, Clean, Hostel-Hotel - Overpriced at the time

This \"Pension\" is much more like a hostel with private rooms.

Great location, but, don't be fooled that this is more like a hotel, it's not. The rooms are clean, but very cheaply put together, All the rooms are near reception, and we could hear EVERYTHING happening there, so assume they could hear the same, so don't go expecting any privacy. The mattress was cheap and not great, but not awful. The building is a mix of commercial and residential with the Pension on the 2nd floor, there is a (very small) elevator, and public parking can be found a 5-8 min walk away. No real room to lock up luggage, but they'll take it and place it near the desk.

At the time this was a last-minute booking, it was massively overpriced for what it was, I should have probably booked a hotel in a slightly worse neighborhood instead.

If you think of it as a Hostel you'll go in with correct expectations.

Great location, very friendly staff. Room was very sparsely furnished with Ikea basics. One chair, one mini desk, a clothing rack with mini fridge and a firm-to-uncomfortable bed. There was hardly any area to set your things down in the bathroom and the towels were thin and small. Only shampoo was offered as toiletries- no bar soap/bath gel for the shower. There was no art in the room at all- white walls only. We could hear the check in desk conversations through the door, as they could likely hear us. One Nespresso coffee pod per person per day was issued to use in the communal kitchen area.

The Pension is in a great area, very close to everything. The place was very clean. Our main complaint was the bed, it was so hard we had a terrible three nights. This was our 4th hotel in Spain on this trip and all other beds were super comfortable. Maybe because everything is from IKEA???

Have been to San Sebastian several times and the location of this hotel has been the best - right on the edge of Old Town and the rest of the city - fantastic. There are only 10-12 rooms so its a nice size, really nicely furnished, The complimentary drinks and coffee were a great and welcome touch. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The only slight negative was that when we first checked in the room did not appear to be cleaned very well - lots of hairs left from previous occupants all over the bathroom floor - but I have to say the room was cleaned well all the other days during out stay. Overall highly recommend!

Pensión Bule was a lovely, modern pension located right in the middle of the old town, perfect for enjoying all those great bars and restaurants. In front of the hotel was a quiet plaza, separated from the noise. The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. The facility was modern and comfy. The room was clean and bigger than I expected.

Excellent location in the old quarter. 5 minute walk to most restaurants that offer yummy pintxos. Friendly staff that spoke excellent English and were extremely helpful with general information, culture questions and requesting for a taxi. Room was modern and clean. The only room for improvement is to offer English TV channels. Wi-fi signal was excellent which helped with the TV issue. I would come back as it offered good value.

Great location, good value, next to old town n beach. Parking extra 15 euros a day about 3 minutes walk from hotel. Hotel is part of the building on second floor. They were extremely helpful with restaurant recommendations n other questions. Spoke good English. Rooms clean, n quite. Reception is not 24 hrs. If ur coming in late need to let them know ahead. If u plan on going to one of the Michelin restaurants need to get reservations before. During peck season 4 -6 months ahead. Makes the trip that more special. Many good bars in restaurant with in 7 min walk.

Wonderfull place to stay. Staff is extremely helpful. Location is the best. Started 2 week vacation here in this hotel then went to various cities in northern Spain all the way to the west coast of Spain. Enjoyed it very much. But decided to drive 8 hrs to come back and spend last 2 night in this hotel and San Sebastián, even though already paid for rooms in other cities. Plan on adding extra his hotel and San Sebastián to our summer vacation so family can enjoy. Loved the food, the area,and Walking along beach, sitting on the bench and watching people go by. Helps to speak Spanish but most know some English. Very safe, parking is extra 15 euros and parking lot located 3 minute walk from hotel. Hotel located on 2 floor of building. If u plan on going to the Michelin restaurant in area make reservations in advance. Especially during spring n summer months. U can email them. It part of the expriace of coming here. Many local bar n restaurant that r outstanding.

Although the location of this pension is excellent we unfortunately had a bad service experience. Cultural and language barriers to be expected during international travel, however rude & combative service is unacceptable. Upon arrival there was confusion about our room, I had elected to pay the additional 30 Euros to accommodate 3 people. A generic email was sent to confirm this and asked if we would like a room with 1 or 2 beds. I requested 2 beds. At check in I learned that for 3 I should have requested one bed + rollaway. Okay...miscommunication no problem except it was too much of a problem for the host. He was completely put out with this mistake, argued with me in front of my daughter and held his ground our entire stay. It was uncomfortable to pass the desk, greetings were ignored. On the second day of our trip I had the chance to speak with the manager and he only defended his staff and was furthermore combative. The location was ideal and the room was fine, comfortable, AC and a fresh air balcony but I would not recommend this for your stay. If we were able to get a refund we would have definitely rebooked our second night.

Friend and I stayed for 2 nights. Room was small but clean and modern. We faced the Boulevard and while we could hear noise from below, it didn't turn out to be a problem for sleeping as it largely quieted down. Staff was friendly and super helpful. Only issue we had was an awkward shower that broke on us, but they fixed it quickly. For the price, cleanliness and location I'll definitely be back next time I come to San Sebastián.

The room was small but well equipped. It had a fridge with some complementary soft drinks, good air-conditioning and a decent bathroom. While there was a little noise from the street outside at night it was not sufficient to disrupt our sleep. The reception is only manned at certain times but it was not an issue as anytime we rang the buzzer someone was on hand within two minutes. The location is excellent, right at the edge of the old town with endless bars and restaurants nearby. Its easy to get to by bus and is only 10 minutes walk from the main bus and train station. Wifi was also fast and reliable. While the room was small for the price it is an expensive city for accommodation generally and we had no complaints from our time there.

Le studio est bien équipé. C’était propre sauf pour le canapé qui était tout tâché. La pension est bien située avec tout à proximité dont deux petites épiceries très biens. Toutefois, c’est à côté de plusieurs bacs de recyclage et de déchets donc c’est bruyant à partir de 6 heures le matin.
